Track Palin was arrested on domestic violence charges again in Wasilla, Alaska

In January 2016, Sarah Palin’s oldest kid, Track Palin, was arrested on multiple misdemeanor charges which included one count of domestic violence. Track had assaulted his then-girlfriend and she was the one who called the police. It wouldn’t have become such a huge story – maybe? – if Sarah Palin didn’t come out, days later, and say that Track assaulted his girlfriend because he has PTSD from serving one tour in Iraq in 2008 (under George W. Bush) and all of this was Obama’s fault. Well, it turns out that Track is still assaulting women even when a Republican is president. Shocking, I know.

The oldest son of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was arraigned Sunday on domestic violence charges, according to online court records. Track Palin, was arraigned Sunday morning on charges of felony burglary, assault in the fourth degree and criminal mischief for causing property damage in Wasilla, Alaska, according to court records. The criminal mischief charge was for causing between $250 and $999 in property damage.

The alleged incident occurred on Saturday, according to the court records, which indicated that all charges were related to domestic violence. Further details on the nature of the alleged incident were not immediately available.

An attorney for Todd and Sarah Palin said on behalf of the two that the Palins were unable to comment on the incident.

“Given the nature of actions addressed last night by law enforcement and the charges involved, the Palins are unable to comment further,” attorney John Tiemessen said in a statement to NBC News on Sunday. “They ask that the family’s privacy is respected during this challenging situation just as others dealing with a struggling family member would also request.”

A woman who answered the phone at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer, Alaska, said Track Palin was listed as being held there as of Sunday evening. The woman would not give her name or title with the facility.

[From NBC News]

That NBC News story reminded me of how things turned up with the 2016 case: Track was charged with “assault in the fourth degree, interfering with a domestic violence report, and misconduct involving weapons in the fourth degree.” The responding officer said that Track was “uncooperative, belligerent and evasive with my initial line of questioning.” Track ended up pleading guilty to the weapons charge and the prosecution dismissed the domestic violence charge – even though Track admitted to the cops that he struck his girlfriend with a closed fist. Anyway, I suspect that Sarah Palin won’t have any word salads to say about Track until she can figure out some way to blame this arrest on Obama too.

    What a surprise. Apple, tree.

And he was in Iraq because it was join Army or go to jail for the thousands of dollars of damage he did to Wasilla schoolbuses by vandalism. He drained the coolant from them, and the blocks cracked in the freezing weather. Wasilla Hillbilly trash.

    • HadToChangeMyName says:

Well, Obama must have time traveled back and made him do that, because his last criminal case was Obama’s fault. Funny how deafening the silence is now that he’s back at it during a republican’s presidency.

    • Lizzie says:

that roast warmed my cold heart…slow clap to you jerusha!

    • minx says:

Pure trash, the whole family. He’s 28 years old, time to grow up. But he won’t.

    • Meeee says:

I went to the Wasilla area over the summer, and as a Latina from a large metropolitan city, I felt uncomfortable, surrounded by a lot of hillbillies with Dump signs and flags all over the place (at homes, on their vehicles, etc…) I was definitely grateful for the fact that I’m white-passing, because had I been darker complected, I feel like I’d have had some problems. Alaska is beautiful, though, and I did meet some good people, don’t get me wrong.

      • freewhitebaby7.0 says:

Rural people find the word “hillbillies” as offensive as blacks find the n-word: Just a FYI:

      • shlockOftheNEw says:

Obviously we need to improve public education and NOT splinter off into weird religious schools that embolden the Moores’ and Palins’ of the world. DeVos was hired by trump to shut down the already ailing public school system…this admin can’t become anachronistic FAST ENOUGH.

      • Ange says:

My home town has 500 people. Nobody calls me a hillbilly because I don’t act like one. But even if they did there’s NO WAY that would compare to being called the n-word. Please.

      • Sara says:

LOL oh my goodness, the n word is so bad because of the hundreds of years of slavery and white oppression all over the world, not to mention the institutional racism that still exists everywhere and the birthright lottery that gives white people living in the West better advantages due to the legacy of colonialism.

I mean, classicism is a thing, as is the belief that people in cities are better educated or more cosmopolitan to those in rural areas (not sure if that discrimination has a name) and both types of discrimination are bad. But you really can’t compare them to racism. Not at all. We really can’t compare one type of discrimination to another. Plus there are plenty of people of color who also live in rural areas. Especially in the South.

      • anon says:

i’m brown, not white passing and living/driving through strongly republican areas has never been a problem. i suspect you expected to be uncomfortable with them and you were?

    • Belle Epoch says:

True dat, Jerusha! It was Iraq or jail, and Sarah worked the heck out of “my son in Iraq” during the campaign – even though he never saw combat and was home again in record time. PTSD from chauffeuring officers around? How completely offensive to the vets who actually were in combat. Loathesome family. Gossip is that he ALWAYS beat the sh*t out of people because Todd isn’t his father. No wonder she blames PTSD. In any event, he will always be a mouth breather.

      • Lady D says:

It was Todd that Track attacked. He went to Todd’s who was waiting for him with a gun. Track disarmed Todd and started beating him with the pistol. The cops stopped Todd driving down the road, bleeding from the head. It’s on tmz.

    • whatWHAT? says:

      so, the update…

he wanted to borrow the family truck. Daddy Palin said no as Track had been drinking and taking prescription pain meds. Track threatened to come over and “beat his ass”. Daddy Palin got his gun to “protect himself” but Track broke in through a window, surprised Daddy Palin, and beat Daddy. Sarah called the po-po. charges include felony first degree burglary, misdemeanor criminal mischief, and fourth-degree assault.

      • MC2 says:

        What?!?! Wait….your name is fitting.
Man- karma is a patient one. How is Sarah going to blame this on Obama or HRC?

    • Sara says:

His mom must be so proud of him.

  2. HadToChangeMyName says:

You guys, I’m really surprised Sarah Palin is not in Dump’s administration. She would fit right in…

    • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

She’s too old. Only pretty young things need apply.

    • babykitten says:

      Yeah, she’s an OG Deplorable.

      • QueenB says:

Yes, she basically paved the way for someone like Trump.

      • Esmom says:

Absolutely. I’ve said this before but I feel like I can directly correlate her appearance on the national stage with a steep decline in civil discourse and a rise in anti-intellectualism.

    • Susannah says:

Especially with the shameless hypocrisy. Palin’s a family values mom candidate with a son who commits domestic violence and burglary and a daughter who preaches abstinence but then has out of wedlock children by two different men. They’re very much a I do as I say not as I do sort of family and that fits in perfectly with the Trump ethos and of course, to just blame Obama for your troubles!

    • Sherry says:

Her presence would take focus away from Trump. Just because it sells papers, people would be writing about what Sarah Palin and/or her family members were doing instead of writing about Trump and Trump’s family. His narcissism would not allow that to happen.

I’m just happy the Palin family’s 15 minutes is up.

  3. Shelly says:

John McCain should vote against the tax bill as a form of repentance for foisting this family on us, which gave rise to this crazy right wing!

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

He has left The Hill post chemo because it has made him ill. I don’t think he will be present to vote.

      • Tiffany says:

I think he will be back. He has never missed the opportunity to make a dramatic entrance. We will be hearing something from his people. Come his illness or high water, he will make sure his ‘party over country’ reputation stays intact.

      • swak says:

It’s being reported that he will not be back for the vote.

    • Enough Already says:

If it helps, McCain realized rather quickly what a waking nightmare he’d picked as a running mate but it was too late. Within two months of her selection they were only on speaking terms when the cameras were rolling. The only, and I mean only, time I ever felt sorry for Palin was in those first early days of the campaign. She was earnest and excited but was dashed with cold water when she was told to just shut up, do as she was told and let the big boys handle everything. According to an insider she was first stunned, then confused and filled with panic – her demeanor changing overnight. Early one morning staffers were looking for her and found her outside in basketball shorts and a sweatshirt pacing back and forth trying to memorize talking points for an upcoming interview. She was thrown in the deep end with decreasing amounts of support once it became clear that she was grossly incompetent. Before a VP debate she sequestered herself in a hotel for two days straight with over 200 index cards arranged by topic. What eventually happened is that Palin said fuck it and began to look out for herself. She enraged McCain’s conservative staff by choosing Ferragamo, Prada, Herrera etc for her campaign wardrobe instead of the usual JC Penney stepford wife look. She would order $450 stilettoes in several colors, clothes for her family etc. after the election she was given a chance to capitalize on her fame by cateribg to some of the worst factions in US political history since the Jim Crow era. She did it without batting an eyelash. Fame, money, power, her own ignorance and intolerance and a chance to give the middle finger to the elite, conservative old guard that made her feel like trailer trash.

Palin is a garbage human being but imperfect people are still the objects of misogyny. In her case patriarchy proved to be the acid that exposed the rotten character beneath the veneer but as far as the campaign was concerned, non e of that would have happened had she been a man. Dan Quayle, anyone?

      • Annie says:

That’s why women need to stop playing for that team. Like Omarosa being shocked at the racist things she heard in that White House. Why are they surprised? Have they not been paying attention? They should be ashamed of themselves for playing against their own best interests and those of all women. They choose who they want to align themselves with. If they weren’t victims of this they wouldn’t care if it happened to other people. I don’t feel bad for them at all. That’s what they deserve. It’s like sheep acting shocked that the wolves are not their friends after they try to join the pack. No, you are not equals now, you’re lunch. Don’t act like we didn’t warn you.

      • babykitten says:

I agree that she was slightly sympathetic in those early days. If Game Change is to be believed, she was also separated from Trigg and really missing him. It’s almost unbelievable that she didn’t realize how unqualified she was for the job. She thought the queen was head of government in England. She thought Paul Revere road through the streets loudly screaming and ringing bells, to let the British know that “they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms”.

      • Enough Already says:

        Annie
        True.

        Babykitten
Lol I lost it at Paul Revere. *wipes tears*

  4. babykitten says:

Considering his illustrious criminal career began with tampering with a school bus, this guy needs some jail time. I guess it’s Trump’s fault this time?

Thank God Trigg had older sisters who seemed to lovingly care for him. Most pictures of him with his mother had him hanging face down over Sarah’s arm like a sack of potatoes. She also couldn’t be bothered with his hearing aids and glasses.

  5. Tiffany says:

    This is me shocked. 😐

  6. lightpurple says:

My thoughts are with the woman and any children involved in this incident. It is unclear if this attack was on Jordan Loewe, mother of his son, who took out a restraining order against him a year ago or his ex-wife Britta Hanson, mother of his daughter, or if a new woman is the target of his violence. Track Palin has been a violent criminal since he was a teenager, and no Sarah, this is NOT Obama’s fault.

    • adastraperaspera says:

Indeed. He is clearly a danger to himself and others.

    • Angela82 says:

See that abstinence before marriage education really works for the Palin family. *eye roll*

      • babykitten says:

Well, Track (twice), Bristol (twice), and then Sarah herself were pregnant before marriage. So that abstinence baloney they spouted was BS from the start.

    • Esmom says:

Yeah, I feel for them, too, especially his daughters. JFC. You’d think any new woman would know to steer clear at this point.

    • whatWHAT? says:

      it was his daddy.

and he apparently beat him bloody.

  7. Neelyo says:

    Meth’s one helluva drug.

    • babykitten says:

Is that believed to be Track’s issue? Isn’t Wasilla the meth capital of Alaska? I imagine that’s how Sarah became the mayor.

  8. Esmom says:

I have two teenage boys and I’ve been a blue lately because they want nothing to do with me…but this post instantly makes me feel better about our family circumstances. A little emotional distance is nothing compared to the complete dysfunction that seems to be standard for the Palins.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

I have two teenage boys, too, who sometimes don’t want to talk at all or let me in on anything. They are almost 17. I figure it’s just the age/a phase, and tell them that anytime they want to talk, I’m all ears. Then I go ask the Mr. for a teen boy translation about wth is going on with them!! He concurs that it is just moodiness that is ( in his opinion ) normal for guys. I still get goodnight hugs nightly & most days a goodbye hug as they leave. Just tell them you love them and are always available. It’s all you can do.

      Hang in there, Esmom!

    • swak says:

Esmom, it’s the age. My oldest grandson, 18, has finally figured it all out. He lived with dad the past 4 years and when he was at mom’s on weekends he spent pretty much of the time in his room there. Now he doesn’t. Just let them know you are there no matter what.

    • Esmom says:

Thanks, NSSB and swak! I do tend to think it’s a phase and I do think it’s clear that I’m here for them whenever they need me. The other thing that bothers me is that even though they’re only 18 months apart and were so close when they were little, they practically ignore each other now. They are in completely different orbits and it makes me a little sad that they’re not buddies anymore.

Anyway, thank you again for the kind words. I’m sure I’ll survive…

  9. Lizzie says:

KNOWN PIECE OF SHIT ACTS LIKE PIECE OF SHIT – story at 5

  10. Enough Already says:

I (desperately) want to gloat but a the end of the day another woman has been assaulted and another child is suffering because situations he or she can’t comprehend have torn their world apart.

  11. Lilith says:

“Track is still assaulting women even when a Republican is president.”

    This is really funny… sorry

  12. Neelyo says:

This story makes me nostalgic for the good old days when the Palins were America’s Worst Family.

  13. IMO says:

Maybe some day people will think that domestic violence is a serious issue and treat the victims of this with respect.
From that family not surprising at all, they justified the first time and will give a great creative explanation again and everything will be alright for the abuser like always.

  14. Pinetree13 says:

That poor woman; how awful. I hope he sees prison time. More abusers need to see the inside of a cell no matter who they are.

  15. Sylvia says:

His name is Track though? And his brother is Trig? Did Sarah Palin name her kids after high school classes? That’s all I got because I prefer not to pay attention to this trash family.

  16. porcupette says:

Apparently he was attempting to burgle his parents’ house, during the progress of which he assaulted his father. Charmers, every single one of them.

  17. Linda says:

It sounds like there is addiction involved which is not funny

  18. JRenee says:

Beat his father bloody, omg, no snark. There’s a lot of rage going on. He needs jail time.
