Sandra Bullock on her kids: ‘There are moments when they want to kill each other’

Ocean’s 8 is a little under a month away and I’m very much looking forward to seeing it. It happens to come out on my anniversary so if any husbands are reading this and wondering what their wives want to do for their anniversary – tickets to Ocean’s 8 are a great idea. Although an ensemble cast, I think Sandra Bullock is going to do the major lifting for publicity. She is the “Ocean” in the film, after all. So, she went on Ellen the other day to speak about the movie and of course the discussion veered into her kids and beauty routines. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with talking about those topics but for the love of God, can women be allowed to speak on anything else?

Sandra has two kids, Louis, who is eight and Laila, who is five and a half. According to Sandra, her kids love each other, but also want to kill each other on occasion. Apparently Laila gets more annoyed at Louis than vice versus.

In case you can’t watch it, People transcribed some of it:

“He wanted his sister and he knew she was his sister, but now there are moments when they want to kill each other,” the mom of two shared, noting that Laila is more likely to get irritated with her brother. Joked Bullock, “But I like that about her. I like that she’ll take a knife and cut a guy.”

Bullock explained that Louis is already a very protective big brother, but lying to his mom led to a guilty conscience during a recent incident.

“She did something — I won’t say what it was — but I tried to get it out of him because he’s very honest. And he was like, ‘She didn’t do it. Maybe she did this,’ and kept coming up with different scenarios,” the Oscar winner, 53, recalled. “Then we put him to bed and he’s like, ‘I don’t feel well. I have this tickling in my stomach. I have to tell you something.’ I said, ‘Okay, what it is?’ He goes, ‘I can’t tell you because I just like her so much.’ ”

Bullock confessed that she got the information out of Louis, joking that he “will be cut” now that Laila knows who tattled on her.

Personally, I like Sandra. And I do understand this is her kind of humor. But the story about Louis broke my heart a little. You can see the point in the video when Sandra figures out Laila is watching this and that Sandra’s just ratted Louis out. Man, I’m glad I’m not a celebrity because I, too, would be halfway through a story about my kid and realize, ‘oh crap – this is being seen by everyone.’ However, the whole point of the story is that Louis adores his sister and that’s sweet. Most siblings annoy each other. My guess is that they just express themselves differently. And my tip to the noisier child is: always be wary when the other one goes quiet – that’s plotting time.

The next video is a whole vat of nope! for me. Ellen asked Sandra about the ‘foreskin facial’ that Sandra gets. Based on this interview, they pull some kind of extraction from the foreskin of Korean babies and use micro-needling to force it into your face. Honestly, do we not have enough things to inject, poke and prod into ourselves already? Can we please leave foreskins alone? Nobody needs to look younger that badly. And don’t get me started on how nervous the collection process makes me.

Ellen brings up the facial at about the 2:45 mark:

To end on a nice note, though – I absolutely love that dress Sandra is wearing and I am so jealous because I can’t wear yellow well. Look at how well she coordinates with Ellen’s flowers.

Now I am sure all those people who accuse Angelina of exploiting her children for movie promotions will now accuse Sandra, right?

Anyways – Sandra looked nice in the first picture but now she seems to have done something to her face and ruined it.

    • June says:

They only attack Angie because of who the Daddy is.

If Angie had never met, and had children with Pitt, and it was just Angie and her adopted brood pre-Brad- the usual suspects would be quiet as church mice, or saying ‘Awww.’

Conversely, if Sandra had had Pitt or Clooney’s kids and loved telling little anecdotes she’d get pounded on by the betties too.

    • BrandyAlexander says:

Well, in all fairness, Sandra didn’t do a Vogue spread featuring her children. She’s rarely released pics of them. I don’t recall any recent red carpets she’s walked with her kids. Telling a story about them is hardly the same thing as what Angelina does.

And anyway, Angie has nothing to do with this article. Why do you have to drag her into an article that has nothing to do with her?

        To brandyalexander

Well, in all fairness, Sandra did People magazine spreads featuring her children (first a big spread on Louis-”Meet My Baby” then her daughter a couple yrs later where the headline read:”Meet My Little Girl.” I know exactly how cute both her kids are because I’ve seen the snaps, candid, mag spreads and otherwise. Saw Louis in a snazzy little suit on a red carpet too.

Seems like she’s not unlike Brangelina in that regard, they just have more kids and the demand to see them as two beautiful movie stars having babies, is much higher so the demand is greater. I’m sure you know all of this.

      • bananapanda says:

June – She did those two spreads for specific reasons to control the story.

        1. Louis’ cover was bc she was being hounded about the dissolution of her marriage with Jesse James right after the Oscars.
        2. Laila’s cover bc she was being hounded by paps who jeopardized finalizing the adoption.

I want to see this, but I really hope Anne Hathaway’s character is in on “the take” because otherwise making her stupid-pretty is really offensive, considering the great villains they had for the Ocean’s 11 trilogy.

  3. Onemoretime says:

I adore Louis,I haven’t seen much of his sister but she’s a cutie! Oh and Sandy’s okay too! I can’t believe he’s 8 already. I wonder if him and Clooney still have their guy talks over the phone.

That yellow dress really is great.

  5. Christy J says:

My dad was skiing once in Jackson Hole WY and met her. They rode in the tram to the top of the mountain. It was just the 2 of them and he said she was very nice and naturally friendly. They chatted about parenting and skiing with kids.

Hi all! First time commenter. I don’t much follow Sandra, but this bit about using extract from Korean babies’ foreskin is disgusting to me. It reeks of white-privileged American women using actual BODY PARTS of human beings who likely are not privileged just to look younger. While I don’t know what the “extracting” procedure is, I am shocked and horrified.

    • Jala says:

I totally agree. Really, using Korean babies’ foreskin?? WTF? How is this a thing and how is it ok??

A friend of mine said, “Hmm… I wonder what people would say if a story leaked about a prominent male celebrity getting an anti-aging facial treatment that involved extracting some sort of “serum” from clitorises that had been removed from Muslim women, for example.”

    • tracking says:

It’s the foreskin from circumcision, and would otherwise be thrown away.

  7. DesertReal says:

    I love everything about this…
I’m the youngest of 5 and I can understand the dynamics of this hilarious (and adorable) story.
The Korean dicks however…. I will never stop giggling over.
