Donald Trump told people that Jared Kushner ‘hasn’t been so good for me’

Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump returns to the White House from Bedminster after weekend stay

It’s been a few quiet months for Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump. We haven’t been inundated with stories full of quotes from “unnamed sources” insisting that Ivanka cares deeply about caged children/treason/reproductive choice but she’s made a choice to support her dad and what can she do. We also haven’t seen a rash of articles about how Genius Jared is totally going to fix the Middle East and health care and veterans issues and the military, all in one week. It’s not that Ivanka and Jared went away – they’re still very much around, and they regularly attend all of Donald Trump’s most important meetings. But they’ve just been quieter about everything. Which is suspicious.

A few days ago, the New York Times published an article called Still Standing, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump Step Back in the Spotlight.” The point is just what I said: Javanka is still around. But Jared in particular is not the emperor’s favorite in the royal court of Bigly. Some highlights:

Bigly jokes about wanting Tom Brady for a son-in-law: Several times Mr. Trump joked that he “could have had Tom Brady” as a son-in-law. “Instead,” the president said, according to five people who heard him, “I got Jared Kushner.”

Trump isn’t so hot on Jared now: It did not help that the president had gone from telling aides to “talk to Jared,” as he did during the campaign, to telling them that “Jared hasn’t been so good for me.” At various points, Mr. Trump told friends and his chief of staff, John F. Kelly, that he wished both Jared and Ivanka would return to New York.

Jared sees himself a GOP fixer: Mr. Kushner appears to see himself as the custodian of Mr. Trump’s political brand, offering his father-in-law “options,” and has spoken about clearing out the Republican Party of lingering resistance. He has privately said that he has been taking action against “incompetence” and that any tensions are a result of fighting for his father-in-law’s best interests.

Jared is transactional: Both husband and wife, like Mr. Trump, are said to hang on to grudges, but Mr. Kushner is far more transactional than his wife. Like his father-in-law, he appears to convince himself that fights did not happen if someone has become useful to him.

Javanka hates John Kelly: A persistent obstacle to both Mr. Kushner and Ms. Trump is Mr. Kelly, whose approach to security clearances they feel unfairly targeted them, and who, they have confided to associates, they believe has spread negative information about them.

[From The New York Times]

After reading the whole piece, it feels less scandalous and more like one of those articles we were getting constantly last year: Javanka is constantly trying to rebrand. Javanka will never leave. Javanka thinks they are the ones pulling all the strings. The only thing that really rang true to me was that even a moron like Donald Trump has finally realized that Jared might be appallingly stupid. Like, I think Trump has come to that realization slowly over the course of a year and a half: oh, right, my daughter married an utter moron. They say daughters marry men who remind them of their fathers.

Huh. It’s like……the first semi-intelligent thing that has come out of trump’s mouth. And I feel gross even saying that.

And no, Jared has not been good for him. Jared thinks because he’s rich and went to Harvard (after his dad bought his admission) and because he was on the Trump campaign that he is better at this and smarter than the other DC people. but DC is chock-full of rich people who went to Harvard. or Yale. etc. and honestly, racism got Donald Trump elected. And Russia. Not Jared. So he’s not this political whiz-kid* that has just been in hiding for the past 15 years and now has come into his own. He’s actually pretty incompetent and doesn’t really know what he’s doing.

And the security clearance thing was a stupid stupid issue. It never had to be an issue. Just stop lying on your forms, and if the truth is going to block you – stop trying to get the highest level security clearance.

And apparently he was the one who pushed for Comey’s firing. Which worked out SO WELL for trump.

So yeah, I can see why Trump would be kind of tired of him. They used to help his brand and now they hurt it.

    *I hate when he’s referred to as a kid. Or a boy. He’s what, 36? 38? That’s a full grown adult.

    • LahdidahBaby says:

Well, yeah, but no, that’s a MIDDLE AGED adult, pretty much.

    • Nic919 says:

If it wasn’t for the WH being a cesspool of corruption Jared would be charged and arrested for lying so much in his security applications.

    • minx says:

Typical that Trump says Kushner “hasn’t been so good for me.” He sees people only in relation to himself and what they can do for him.
And Ivanka looks hilariously cheesy in that porn-boobed Heidi getup.

    • Dita von Katzhausen says:

I always wonder how delusional those people all must be. I mean seriously, if someone would offer me any job in the White House without ever having worked in politics or in any similar position, I would shit my pants and refuse. I mean, they dont know what they are doing, yet they think they are so amazing, and are better than folks that have actually been playing that game much longer. It baffles me.

  2. lower-case deb says:

the kid did not understand why mommy dressed that way, and neither does the whole country…

  3. Becks1 says:

Also that is an awful shirt Ivanka is wearing.

    • INeedANap says:

Sometimes, in certain angles and on certain days, I think she looks stunningly beautiful.

But head on in a dumb shirt, the bad plastic surgery comes through.

Jared looks like a pinched schoolboy, always and forever.

    • Liz version 700 says:

That shirt omg all that money and she wears that awful shirt. He fashion is as lacking as their brains. He is eternally twit

  4. Bros says:

Her outfit looks like the giant’s outfit at the end of Princess Bride. Also, Javanka had an extensive hand in shaping that story. It’s been all over twitter. See Jay Rosen’s feed.

  5. perplexed says:

Did Tom Brady ever actually date Ivanka?

  6. Red Snapper says:

That article was written by Maggie Haberman, who regularly whores herself (journalistcally) for access.

Also, that *blouse* is a tragedy.

    • Becks1 says:

Oh, I didn’t even click on it to realize it was written by Haberman. You nailed it with your description of her.

    • Shelly says:

Yep and got angry when Twitter came for her after that misleading tweet about what Michelle Wolf said about Sara Saunders at WHCD. She wrote a piece in NYT about the toxic nature of Twitter last week which she is taking somewhat of a break from.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

Except her ‘break’ lasted about 4 days and she jumped right back in.

      • Dee Kay says:

People who post flounce announcements (i.e., “Why I have to leave this social media site because I AM SO EXHAUSTED and PPL ARE TERRIBLE HERE!!!”) are my pet peeve — I always feel like replying, “Just stfu and leave then, you don’t have to tell anybody about your impending absence!” — and Maggie Haberman’s just made my skin crawl. And then she DIDN’T EVEN LEAVE. She’s completely back on Twitter. If she had to post an NYT story about how terrible Twitter is and how she needs a break, why didn’t she post another NYT story about how it’s not so bad after all and she’s back? (/s)

    • Indiana Joanna says:

Haberman soft pedals drump and his family. She has access, writes a story, but always stops short of revealing drump’s true evil. She is deeply invested professionally in keeping the drump cliffhanger alive. Definitely has a book deal about drump. I find her reporting extremely dishonest and irritating. Glad she finally realized being on Twitter was not helping the discussion.

      • Christin says:

Her mother also worked/works for the Kushy family, too??? Read that claim on “Maga”’s (Maggie’s) twitter reply feed.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

The NY journalism and PR worlds are deeply intertwined. IIRC, Maggie Haberman’s mother works for Howard Rubenstein, the big PR agency. Clients = Kushners and maybe at some point Trump too. Maggie’s dad Clyde has also worked for the NY Times for decades, so she seems to be blind to the implications of the power of nepotism.
She was hired for access and that’s all she knows how to do. It’s very damaging. She should be canned and the investigative side given more prominence.

  7. Indiana Joanna says:

Javanka is the most idiotic, venal, self centered couples among the vulgar couples working in this administration. They hang on to milk more money and access from their position. In just 18 months, I’m sure they’ve passed the $100 million mark in getting other countries to pay them by way of threats, blackmail and offers of access.

Jared is a moron. Ivanka isn’t any smarter but just a monstrous opportunist.

  8. Clare says:

WHat the actual fuck is that outfit???

  9. Lightpurple says:

Hey, Princess Nagini, it looks like your kid has to go to the bathroom.

The NYT is deservedly getting a ton of flack for that puff piece. There’s a huge push on at the White House to polish Nagini’s tarnished image. Lots more trips with Orange Voldy and the official White House twitter account has become all Nagini, all the time. Our tax dollars being used for her personal gain.

    • Who ARE These People? says:

Thought the same about that little boy. Why didn’t someone attend to his needs before they left for the photo-op? And the baby is hanging limply in daddy’s arms. How well do these kids know their parents, and vice versa?

      • Belle Epoch says:

WATPeople – I think the kids barely know their parents. Remember those articles about Ivanka seeing child #1 for exactly 2 hours a day – at breakfast and at bath time? The girl was sitting at the opposite end of the couch while Ivanka posed. When she had #2 I wondered if each kid would get half an hour? Now she’s up to #3. I really thought she was going to have a get-out-of-jail-free baby.

    • Christin says:

I had to take a second look at the photos. At first, I thought he was trying to get her attention. The second look (at his hand placement) suggests why. Poor kid.

      • Lightpurple says:

He’s doing it in several pictures too. The Kushners aren’t around their kids enough to know when they have to pee

      • Who ARE These People? says:

Poor kiddo. I work with little kids and even when I don’t know them well, the signs are just so obvious. Well, we know the Trumps have no feeling for children, including their own.

      • Shannon says:

I’m not a santimommy and definitely not against moms who work a lot (been there and done that, still doing it). But I remember that article about spending two hours a day with her kids and it struck me as just, kind of strange, like, I doubt her kids do know her very well or vice versa or Jared either. Which, all things considered, might not be the worst thing.

    • Q T Hush says:

To LIGHTPURPLE, LO❤️E your comment! Thanks for the much needed chuckle to start the day. I actually love all your comments. Keep them coming.

  10. Missy says:

All the money in the world and that’s the shirt she picks to wear

    • Wood Dragon says:

Emphasizes the enhancements because that’s what Daddy relates to in women? I still remember reading how upset she was as a child when she thought she might not be a Trump anymore. She identifies with her father to a disturbing degree.

      • Betsy says:

        Ew eew ew ew ewwwww

That’s it – you have figured out why she dresses the hideous way she dresses, why, despite all the resources at her disposal, she has the most inappropriately sized store bought breasts and cannot dress herself at all. She’s dressing for her father. Oh my god.

      • jwoolman says:

She says that after the divorce, she called her dad every day. Not to tell him about her activities – but to ask HIM about his day and how he was doing. That’s how worried that child was about losing her value to her dad.

  11. grabbyhands says:

I doubt 45 has realized that Kushner is a moron. You have to have some depth of thought to come to realizations like that. I think the most thought he’s had is that Kushner isn’t directly benefiting him in any way and that makes him useless in 45’s eyes. Unfortunately, he’s hitched to his daughter wife so until she figures it would be better to dump him, he isn’t going anywhere.

And Kushner isn’t a moron, really. He’s just up against a spectacularly stupid and narcissistic man. If 45 were just a little more malleable, Javanka would have him right where they want him and they’d both be pulling a lot more dangerous strings.

    • Esmom says:

I’d agree with you about Trump not being able to recognize people’s good or bad qualities the way most normal people do but Jared did run a newspaper into the ground. Maybe he’s not a moron, but he has very bad instincts.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

A quality Grifter Ivanka shares with her father. She is appalling laking in empathy. Last week she praised some business owner to the hilt for giving a crappy car to a new employee who walked 20 miles to work. She had no insight into how remarkable it was that this young man actually walked that far for a chance to work.

And how she praised hallelujah style when drump walked back his own cruel family separation policy. She’s really off intellectually and has no compassion.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

How about his Satanic building that’s in the hole? Basically this business moron is in the White House using American foreign policy to pay off his debts.

      • Belle Epoch says:

PLEASE everybody keep an eye on Nazi Stephen Miller. He is the REAL power behind the throne, and we never hear about him. Stupid Maggie H would spend her time better watching him, and what Trump does with his ideas. He apparently takes great joy from listening to the cries of the kids in cages. He has the Master Plan and Trump listens to him.

      • Betsy says:

@Belle Epoch – 100%. Trump is racist and mean and hateful and probably really enjoys knowing that he’s causing pain to brown babies, but Trump is also stupid, impatient and not good at long games. He would never have come up with kidnapping brown babies or figured out how to the maximum damage like he is or how to actually do it – that’s all Miller.

    • babypeanut says:

Trump is surrounded by morons. I think he simply remembered that Jared is Jewish.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

Yes. And not the financial genius he presumed all Jews to be … also disposable.

  12. Erinn says:

Why is this real life. WHY.

“he appears to convince himself that fights did not happen if someone has become useful to him.”

This would have made such an outrageous tv show villain setup, but no. This is reality.

  13. Maya says:

Ivanka will be the smoking gun and she will be the one who takes down daddy dearest.

To save her husband, Ivanka will throw Trump under the bus and I cannot wait to see that.

    • Lightpurple says:

No. You are giving that snake way too much credit. Nagini will not give up Daddy to save Tom Riddle. Nagini will assess the situation and decide what is best for Nagini based upon how much money and power she will continue to wield. Nagini will save only Nagini. She will give up Tom Riddle to save herself. She will play the poor victim wife. She will only give up Daddy to save herself, not Jared.

People need to stop giving that monster Ivanka credit for having a conscience or soul. She has none. She is as bad as her father and she approves everything he does.

      • Becks1 says:

Yeah if she “has” to choose for whatever reason, she’ll give up Jared.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

I agree. In sequence, Ivanka first, daddy second, Jared a trailing third.

If their children came anywhere in this calculation, she wouldn’t have moved to Washington.

      • Dee Kay says:

        Tom Riddle LOLOLOLOL yes

  14. SM says:

No, the fat moron did not realize that his son in law is a moron, he just tries to distance himself from Jared becaise of the meeting with the russians. He literally will pat you on a bqck as long as you are useful at carrying out his shady deeds and will throw you under the bus when you are caught for it.

  15. Honeybadger says:

OMG!! That blouse looks like something I made in my intro home ec class back in the early 70s! It was horrible then, it’s even worse now.

  16. LaraK says:

His photo should be under “weak chin” in the dictionary.

And why does he always have that look? Like he peed his pants and is about to cry?

  17. Lolo86lf says:

Ivanka’s outfit is simply horrible. Even her son cannot believe just how ugly and ill fitting that dress/blouse or whatever is.

    • Ruyana says:

The son holding her hand looks like he *really* has to pee right now, mommy, and she doesn’t even look at him.

  18. Rescue Cat says:

Heard a story a few days ago about how the EU had to use colourful flash cards to explain economic policy to Donald Trump:

    https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/amp.businessinsider.com/trump-trade-tariffs-eu-colorful-cards-2018-7

  19. elisabeth says:

Jared looks like the world’s tallest 9 year old

  20. Iknow says:

I’ve often wondered with whom does Ivanka’s loyalties lie. For a long time, I thought with daddy. That at the first sign of trouble, she will drop that moron husband and go to bat for daddy. But now, I realize it’s the other way around. Perhaps seeing her parents dysfunction, made her more invested in her marriage and husband. I think if Ivanka has to choose, she’s choosing her husband. I wonder if daddy knows that?

    • Who ARE These People? says:

Hmm. She’s chosen daddy at every turn. Watching her father’s dysfunction (because Ivana, while Ivana, was not insanely evil) seems to have made her more invested not in her marriage and husband, but in projecting a sanitized IMAGE of her marriage and husband. She’s all surface and appearance; underneath is rot.

    • Lightpurple says:

Ivanka will choose Ivanka. To keep herself out of prison, she’ll testify against both husband and daddy.

    • Chris says:

Why do I not believe Jared really loves Ivanka, he just seems so loveless; I don’t see what she gets out of it either

  21. Lucy2 says:

I hope these snakes regret every moment of every day since Dump announced he was running for POTUS. If they just stayed in their lane, they’d still be making shady deals and pretending they were high society, and the world be so much better off.

    Also, that top is heinous.

  22. Beth says:

What an ugly, weird fitting blouse that is. Jared looks like a 10 year old little boy who’s dressed up to go to a wedding or church in his suit

  23. Uglyartwork says:

The way Jared’s skin is stretched over his skull….crypt keeper. There is literally no photo of kushner not looking like the crypt keeper.

  24. Melissa says:

The look on that kid’s face says everything. Poor thing.

  25. Jordana says:

Do we know who made that shirt? Gawd it’s awful. My first thought was “she wearing the last of her Ivanka brand clothes..
That shirt reminds me one time I was in Winners (like TJ Maxx or Coles) and I spotted a completely hideous black and white blouse. The design was awful and the fabric felt like cheap crepe, it felt disgusting. I had no interest in buying it but i picked it up to see who made the monstrosity. The label, yep, it was Ivanka.

Is that “blouse” one of hers too? I wouldn’t be surprised. It’s horrible and making her bust look weird. It’s just all wrong. Also the picture looks like she tried hard to coordinate the kids clothes colors with hers.

  26. Smee says:

I had no idea the Puffy Shirt from Seinfeld came in blue!

  27. perplexed says:

    Does Jared tweeze his eyebrows?

  28. MellyMel says:

Has her neck always been so long??

    • themummy says:

Yes. Yes, it has. I have been mystified for years now that people don’t ever mention this. I mean, it is bizarrely long. I finally googled it a few months back and there is a name for this condition and it has to do with having extra vertebrae in the neck. Her version of it is the most extreme and weird I have ever seen. She’s a giraffe woman. And she knows it too–she actually dresses to hide this particular feature of hers.

      • SK says:

Plus her head is tiny … combined with the extra long neck she really does look bizarre

    • minx says:

I usually think long necks are elegant but hers emphasizes her alien-like head.
And she should do her roots.

  29. LahdidahBaby says:

“…oh, right, my daughter married an utter moron. They say daughters marry men who remind them of their fathers.” Line of the day, Kaiser! You are an evil-ass genius!

  30. Wood Dragon says:

The legacy those wretched children will inherit from both of their grandfathers…talk about being cursed.

    • Jan90067 says:

I would think those poor kids (and their cousins) would change their last names as soon as they could. I doubt they’d want to be identified or like Grandpa Charles, Grandpa Dump, or even Mommy and Daddy Complicit Crooks.

I do feel for them. They’re innocent.

  31. RBC says:

Jared comes across as “ unfinished” or a blank canvas. Like he is missing something that would make him more human. He reminds me of the toy doll in that horror movie “The Boy”

    • babypeanut says:

      He really does!

    • Who ARE These People? says:

Like with lumps of coal for eyes?

    • Fluffy Princess says:

I agree. There is something “off” about him. If we found out that he was a secret serial killer, I would be like, “Yes. I totally believe it.” No proof necessary. Like you said, he’s so “blank”. Words I also associate with him: sterile, bland, beige…creepy and soulless.

      • Dee Kay says:

Yes to all of this: “sterile, bland, beige, creepy, and soulless.” If someone just told me those adjectives and asked me to name who they are describing, Jeopardy-style, I’d say “Who is Jared Kushner?”

      • minx says:

To me he’s like Christian Bale in American Psycho (although not as good looking). Bland, flat affect, well dressed, dead eyes. Seems clean cut but has body parts in his freezer.

    • Jan90067 says:

He’s a bland piece of white bread… Needs *something* to “complete” him. And it’s NOT Nazi Barbie.

  32. babypeanut says:

Child #2 looks just like child #1.

  33. Slyvanka’s son is begging her to let him go pee. She is wearing a hideous clown shirt..

  34. Electric Tuba says:

    Satan Face Kushner

  35. why? says:

You can always tell when Jared and Ivanka are feuding with Kelly because they will keep leaking negative stories about one another. This story was definitely leaked by Kelly. You can tell because it claims that Kelly has been tough on Jared about security clearances, but in reality Kelly has not been tough on Jared about security clearances. He gave Jared the security clearance that he needs. Mueller needs to stop playing around and indict Jared because he is like Stephen Miller in the background creating chaos.

  36. themummy says:

She has the longest neck I have ever seen on a human in my life. And they are both pieces of shite. That is all.

    • Jan90i067 says:

To be fair, Pippa’s hubby, The Moderately Wealthy James Matthews™ has a very long neck, too. But I’d take him in a nanosecond heartbeat over this traitorous POS.

  37. Dee Kay says:

My dream scenario is Jared Kushner being walked across the WH lawn in handcuffs to an FBI helicopter. I want a lot of ppl from this administration to go down but I want to see Kushner in handcuffs the most.

    • Jan90i067 says:

I’d like to see him and Complicit Barbie in leg-shackles jogging alongside of him, with Dumpy Dearest pulling up the rear. Now THAT I won’t complain about tax dollars being wasted for!

  38. PodyPo says:

What the fug does Complicit Barbie have on in this photo? Fashion designer my @ss.

Now that’s off my chest I will read the article for some more laughs!

  39. Medusa says:

First of all, that is one hideous shirt Ivanka is wearing. Did she not look in the mirror before leaving the house?! Or did she think the blouse accentuates her boobs and that’ll maybe convince daddy not to kick them out of the White House just yet?

Secondly, apparently the Kushner brother that is marrying Karlie Kloss got all the looks and the soul in the family. I have no idea whether the brother is alright or evil like the rest of the family but at least there is life behind his eyes. Jared looks like someone made him out of Play-Doh and stopped halfway through.

  40. JayneBirkenB says:

The blouse is ill fitting, but Jared’s skinny pants are a crime!

  41. SequinedHeart says:

    INCONCEIVABLE!

  42. HannahF says:

I have a family member who is Modern Orthodox and knows a lot of people who are/were in the same Jewish community/went to the same shul as the Kushner family. Not surprisingly, Jared is known to be dumb as a box of rocks–Harvard education or not. What is somewhat shocking is that the consensus is that he’s a decent person.

  43. AnotherDirtyMartini says:

He’s waxen & creepy whenever they show him “at work”. Shudder

  44. Pandy says:

Jeez that shitastic blouse makes me miss her clothing line already lolllllll. Seeing that fug made my day.

  45. Betsy says:

Her cheeks look more inflated than usual.
