Fox Business host Melissa Francis complains about being shunned by her country club

This story isn’t as good as the Alan Dershowitz story, wherein Dershowitz claimed that being shunned at Martha’s Vineyard parties was McCarthyism and a major civil rights issue. But this story is similar to that. This story is about Melissa Francis, who used to an actress and is now an on-air talent for Fox Business. She’s blonde and she interviews Republicans and she doesn’t even pretend to be a journalist. She’s a proud Trump supporter, one cog in the state-run Trump Business Network. She wears her party affiliation on her sleeve, it seems. And then she gets mad because there are consequences to her Trump-supporting ways. Those consequences? She belongs to a super-elite country club and they won’t let her eat dinner there!! LMAO.

Fox News host Melissa Francis took to Twitter to accuse her local country club of shunning her family, suggesting she was being targeted because of her political views. While previewing an interview with a Trump official on her Fox Business Network show, Francis wrote on Sunday night, “happy you’re in NYC even if Siwanoy shuns my family yet again (they must prefer @CNN v @FoxNews ).”

Francis claimed that while she is a member of the posh Bronxville, New York establishment, she can’t get a table there for dinner.

“We are member of Siwanoy Bronxville but somehow, they can’t fit us in for dinner,” she wrote. “Repeatedly. I’m sure it’s a coincidence and not something more. Right?” Francis concluded with several hashtags suggesting the alleged discrimination was politically motivated: “#NeverTrumpers #cnn #HillaryForever?”

The Siwanoy is a century-old country club and golf course in the bucolic Westchester suburb of Bronxville, a short Lincoln Towncar-ride from Midtown Manhattan.

Can you even imagine the horror of belonging to an elite country club, paying those annual fees and then – GASP – not even getting a table? This is a civil rights issue!! This is discrimination against blonde white women who support Donald Trump! This is the new McCarthyism! Seriously, how f–ked up is this country that there are still thousands of traumatized children being kept in cages by the government, and here’s a Fox Business “journalist” using her platform to complain about her country club not letting her in for dinner? American politics in a nutshell.

She’d be welcomed at the CC we’re members of, which is predominately Doctors, attorneys, and Judges, they are definitley not fond of Democrats.

    @Beth and @Elkie – Yes!

As more stories like this one emerge, it continues to shed light on just how privileged these people are. Can’t get a table? Gasp! Getting yelled at for supporting Trump and his beliefs and bullying tactics ( I cannot even call them policies, because they aren’t)? Gasp! Now, multiply the reactions you have gotten by infinity and that is just the tip of the iceberg for how people of color are treated every single day especially since Trump has taken office.

Reports are coming out that a child held in one of the detention centers in Texas has died. I would love to know how this witch justifies that.

What gets me is how do the rural and working class folks not flip out at this? I thought they raged against “elitism”?

  10. Stef says:

I’ll never understand why the US only has a 2 party system, therefore creating this ridiculous “Us vs Them” and “Black/Red vs White/Blue political mentality.

Republicans openly shun and discriminate against people for their political views, sexual orientation, gender, nationality, views on gun control etc. Yet they lose their minds when people turn around and treat them the same.e way they treat the less fortunate. Hypocrite much? It makes me sick…

    • Veronica S. says:

1.) The political system was intentionally designed to be “winner take all” and makes it extremely difficult for third parties to break in, 2.) decades of active voter suppression that limit the voices of minorities, 3.) the immense geography and diversity of culture in America makes it difficult for people to unit behind a two-party system instead of two. Just look at the comparison between actual voting numbers and the physical population.

  11. Chaine says:

So she had to eat at regular restaurant with (*gasp*) members of the general public? So shocking and unfair!

  12. Natalie S says:

Trump has places in Westchester. He has a place in Briarcliff. First world problem solved.

  13. Esmom says:

    Ha.

Funny, though, I am sure she would be welcomed with open arms and much fawning at the country club in my neighborhood. They are all MAGA types. I didn’t even realize there would be a liberal country club. I would guess they are still conservatives, the “never Trump” variety?

    • Jamie says:

We don’t even know WHY the country club is supposedly shunning her, though. It could be for any number of non-political reasons, like she and her hubby are super loud and chew with their mouths open or something.

But these MAGAts have delusions of persecution, so it wouldn’t be surprising if she decided to play the victim to rally her followers.

    • Who ARE These People? says:

Westchester County (the county just north of New York City…meaning just above the Bronx), has different pockets politically, as best as I know. Bronxville, which is very close to NYC, could be one of the more liberal enclaves. It’s still very wealthy and very white.

As for her … poor poopsie.

    • Kitten says:

Country Club People, Boat People, and Ski People..I always assume they are MAGATs. That’s probably really unfair, but between this and the Aniston thread I’m throwing all caution to the wind today lol.

      • Bumble says:

No, no….lots of the country club ppl and others you mentioned are sentient human beings and therefore staunch democrats. Lots!
I always think the MAGAs are the rural folks who have decided they are disenfranchised bc they felt they were losing their white privilege.
It’s all such a sh-t show now. Hopefully our election system still works (or rather, work again…obv broken in 2016) and the midterms will turn things…

      • Veronica S. says:

Oh lol no, I know exactly the kind of rich liberal that inhabits the country club. They’re not genuinely progressive but old money that is established and disinterested in the kind of gauche celebrity Trump and his ilk represent. For them, there’s a hint of the noblesse oblige still around – they support Democrats because it’s “the people’s party” and supports socially progressive goals that look good on your tax write off. They’ll swan around with their $1000 champagne glasses and laugh about what a joke this president is, and thank God they’re too rich to worry about him – but oh, those poor urban children. They may have a rough time at it. C’est la vie. *glasses clink*

      • Bumble says:

Hmm. Veronica I can see why you’d think and say this, but honestly there are people who care about others and donate time and money but still go to a country club. It’s not mutually exclusive, you know? Just because they want to have a place to swim or what have you, doesn’t mean they aren’t torn up about what is happening here, aren’t being activists, aren’t participating in trying to make true change. I do get why you’d feel there’s a ‘let them eat cake’ vibe, but honestly there are people who would surprise you. Never assume we know everything about humans beings..

  15. BlueSky says:

Can someone get me some pearls to clutch? What is happening to our society that a WW is not welcomed somewhere? I mean, where
do I need to march? We must contact the congressional office and flood them with calls because this is an outrage!

  16. Green Is Good says:

I believe we can all agree: Eff her and her wealthy white lady privilege.

  17. damejudi says:

So let me get this straight:

she’s surprised that the country club, where membership = keeping undesirables out- is blocking her? It’s a surprise that the rules of who’s in and who’s out are governed by capriciousness?

    Huh.

  18. Angela82 says:

    I DON’T CARE, DO YOU?

  19. Electric Tuba says:

Apparently her make up artists and colorist and stylist are all pretty mad at her too.

    • Pamela says:

I was going to say, it may not be her politics that are the issue but rather the way she applies her eyeliner. Oh lordy!

  20. HK9 says:

What’s that faint music I hear??? Ah yes, that tiny violin playing for her problems. **eyeroll***

  21. Veronica S. says:

Isn’t this just what rich people do, though? Find things to shun each other over in petty ways that are meaningless to the rest of us? Sounds like the real problem is that she thought she was more powerful and influential than she actually was.

  22. Lisa says:

lmao, nice on the other side, isn’t it?

  23. Holly hobby says:

Oh I’m so sorry to hear this… not! Every orange Nazi supporter has lived up to the deplorable name. I hope people heard how WH staffers were literally yelling at the press to shut up when they started asking questions to that orange turd. They were yelling over the press. No wonder why they are living a sexless, dateless life. They can pretty much date each other.

  24. Raina says:

Maybe she didn’t show her i.d.
Just because someone looks Caucasian, one never knows. She could be from another country like Hawaii or whatever.

Fukks and Friends is not a real news station so it can’t be her “journalism”.

  25. LadyLilith says:

Ha! Love it. Stay mad colonizer.

  26. Roxlet says:

This is utter and complete bullshit. We are members of Siwanoy, and if she can’t get a dinner reservation it just means that she probably called too late, but I’m secretly hoping that someone is, in fact, shunning her.

    • Deering says:

Now to the important question: how’s the food there? 😉

      • Roxlet says:

The food is mediocre. Sometimes you can get a decent meal, but it’s usually pretty poor. We happened to have gotten an email from the club’s board of governors today saying that what she said happened is nonsense, as I suspected. She probably called too late for a reservation during busy summer weekends. I hope I never see her there.
