Khloe Kardashian reveals that baby True Thompson was gifted a baby Bentley

I was going to make a big deal about materialism and celebrities spending their money on dumb things which their kids will outgrow in a few months, but I’m not feeling it. Khloe Kardashian posted some Instagrams of her daughter’s new gift: a baby-sized Bentley. Kimora Lee Simmons sent True Thompson this baby gift, and this is not the first time Kimora has sent baby-cars to members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan: Stormi Webster and Chicago West have also gotten baby-sized cars too. Here’s what I didn’t know: these baby-sized cars are relatively inexpensive. They’re sold at, like, Walmart and JC Penney and cost anywhere from $200-600.

Khloe Kardashian revealed on her Instagram Story that Kimora also gifted toy Bentley cars to Kylie Jenner’s baby girl Stormi Webster and Kim Kardashian’s youngest daughter Chicago West.

“Oh my God! I just came back from the gym and look what Kimora Lee sent to the girls!” Khloe said in one Instagram Story video. “This one is for Stormi, this is for Chicago, this is for my True mama. Oh my God! Thank you, thank you.” She then shared a photo of the three toy cars with the caption, “Ahhh I’m dying over this!!!”

In the comments of Khloe’s Instagram post of True in the mini Bentley, one social media user wrote, “She should of receive a cross or a bible so this child grows closer to God as opposed to embedding materialism in her brain.”

In response, Khloe clapped back, “We read children’s bible stories everyday and we say prayers every single night but you should not pass judgement either way. Why be so negative if you are a child of God?”

[From E! News]

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but… I actually agree with Khloe just a little bit on this one thing. It’s not like she went out and bought True a REAL Bentley. Kimora sent it as a gift, and all of the cousins got baby Bentleys. Yes, it is materialistic and yes, the babies won’t care about their baby Bentleys in a week. But still… it’s really not that big of a deal where someone should piously sit there and mock Khloe on Twitter. Also: Khloe has really got to stop responding to those people too.

True is very cute and looks like Tristan. She has his eyes. Of course, at this point, Khloé has no natural features of her own.

  2. Sam says:

She has her mother’s original face shape.

  3. Sayrah says:

She can’t even sit up in that thing yet lol. Yeah, it was a gift but even if it wasn’t who cares.

  4. Lynnie says:

Gifts like these are on the same level to me as buying designer clothes for children. Like who is the gift actually for

    • Anon33 says:

It’s for Kimora, to show how rich she is and how well she can suck up.

    • Nickname says:

Those cars are literally less than 300 dollars. I spent more than that on my niece for her 1st birthday and I’m not rich at all.

      • Anon33 says:

I have twin nieces. My BIL and SIL would absolutely kill us if we bought something like that for them, and we’re all “well off.” I won’t play prideful and act like I’m not.
But we were never allowed to have a toy that cost more than $50, so I look at things differently.
I mean, we are talking about a newborn who can’t even use this toy right now. And if you ever actually watch the show, you can see how many trinkets and cars and toys and bullshit these people have stored in their garages. Kourtney had something like five or six little cars like that for her three kids. I’m sure none of them even get used anymore. That’s insane, and a complete and utter waste. But to each his own. Sure.

        duplicate post

Yes, but that still doesn’t answer my question about who the gifts are actually FOR. Especially when you factor in that at 3 and under (especially 0 months – 1) little kids do NOT care about anything beyond simple pleasures and security, and they definitely don’t have the capacity to remember such gifts. Throw in the fact that kids are notorious for outgrowing, discarding, and destroying things because they’re kids; have no concept of material value; and have been shown to derive equally as much pleasure from mundane objects such as paper towel rolls, and it makes gifts like those look even more ridiculous. If more people were honest with themselves in saying that they lavish gifts like these on friends/family to brag, ingratiate themselves with the parents, show off to others about perceived wealth and/or alleviate themselves subconsciously of the fact that they won’t be able to give the kid the world for some reason then I wouldn’t sideeye as much. But people don’t, because it’s performance art for adult gift givers in a “Keeping Up With the Joneses” kinda way. (Especially considering the fact this family is all about flaunting in every kind of way)

Put another way an example of this would be New Age moms that buy those 8,000 dollar strollers that look like an egg and justify by listing how their baby “benefits” by being in one knowing full well their using their kids as a status symbol. Which isn’t surprising seeing as how people often view their kids as an extension of themselves.

Now I’m sure there are people who give impractical gifts to kids because they do absolutely love their kids/nieces/nephews that much, but with celeb gift giving (esp. the kind where acquaintances are sending big gifts) I find it is rarely about the kid

What a gorgeous, sweet little baby. And I love the name True. If I had money, you bet your butts I would be giving my kids Bentleys (well, Lexus, but that’s beside the point), and put them in Armani and crap. I want everything nice for everyone. No judgement whatsoever.

    • wildflower says:

Mine would be a Jeep, but anyway…No judgment from me on this, either because non-celebrity kids have those cars, I see them all the time in my own neighborhood. True is absolutely adorable. If the car was jewel encrusted and gold plated, we could side-eye, but this is a non-issue. She was given a toy to grow into, so what?

      • manda says:

The boy I babysat when I was in high school had a little jeep and it was sooooo cute! And we weren’t living in a super rich neighborhood or anything. It was just a normal neighborhood. I don’t really see these toy cars as status symbols, they’re just fun! Yes, a little pricey for some but not really a huge expense

  6. Spaniard says:

    This baby is absolutely GORGEOUS

  7. jen says:

    Nope.
The whole Kardashian lot are despicable.
No one should have as much $ as they do-No one.
We have day laborers working their butts off for $1 a day just to survive, and these..I can’t even think of a word that would do justice to the disgust I feel… call themselves Christians but live in greed every single day.
    F them.

  8. Zip says:

I’d prefer teaching children about the declaration of human rights instead of some religious fiction book that is often abused as an excuse to hurt and discriminate others.

    • Amanduh says:

Hahaha…like the cut of your jib! I heard a great comedian comparing Santa and God and there were no lies told!! lol

    • Magdalin says:

You should try reading it sometime, you’ll find a great deal about human rights and an actually pragmatic, yet faith-based way of living. And that’s a super broad and not-a-little offensive statement you’ve made. It’s not Jesus’ fault if people misinterpret and misuse the Bible.

  9. Missy says:

Has anybody read the article where the singer jewel talks about when her son turned seven?

  10. Kris says:

Lord these people are so tacky. Khloe was somewhat sane and most relatable in the past but her face and relationships are too much of a head scratcher now.

  11. shy vi says:

    Super cute happy baby! 🙂

  12. AMA1977 says:

I will take this opportunity to say that while I appreciate the sentiment behind “You don’t know this yet, but you’re my best friend for all eternity” it is not a healthy way to look at parenting for a few reasons. Kids are their own people and should be free to form their own attachments and relationships without having them dictated, AND the role of a parent is to parent, not to be a friend. Parenting means making the choice that is best for your child and your family even if it’s not what they want, and it’s hard to do that if you’re focused on being their friend. My goal is to parent my children to a healthy adulthood, when I hope they will choose to be my friend.

    • Lynnie says:

That’s exactly what I thought, but didn’t know how to word it. I feel with Tristian’s future absenteeism it’ll only make Khloe feel like she has to be even more of a BFF to make up for it. Poor True

  13. Pandy says:

OF COURSE she’s reading bible stories! Jesus wept.

  14. Dlflygurl says:

Thats adorable…im not judging my dad bought a yellow corvette for his mid life crisis car, he turned around and bought my then 2 year old son a matching toy corvette. It’s not teaching those babies materialism THEY’RE BABIES. Let kids be kids as long as they can be and if I could afford real bently fory babies they’d have them.. I’d give them the world if I could.

  15. Tiffany says:

Agreed! AMA1977. It seems like such a unhealthy way to speak about your child. Codependent behavior

  16. Nancy says:

No secret how I feel about Khloe. She’s not mother material, she talks about the child as if she was a toy. Of all the babies, I feel most sorry for True, well I should say her step brother who was born while his father was “dating” Khloe and whomever else made themselves available. True is another horrible name, she just wanted a TT. OMG, she’s a train wreck. I wish the Kardashians would go away, or at least out of our vision, but that’s like wishing trump go away. Just pray I guess 🙏

  17. Chaine says:

The Kardashians sure do make cute babies.

    • LB says:

      They really do.

    • jwoolman says:

It’s quite a feat for a baby to NOT be cute. Really. It’s built in, so we don’t toss them out in the snow because of the crying and discharges from all orifices…. Mother Nature ain’t stupid.

  18. Cupcake says:

She can spend her money on whatever stupid $h!t she pleases. I just wish she’d make her social media accounts private. She knows her posts will attract trolls and she’s dying to stay relevant. She’s pathetic for that reason.

  19. SpookyG says:

My God. That’s a just a cute baby on a tiny car. The internet is indeed full of hate.

  20. jwoolman says:

Not really worried about the cost, the gifter has oodles of money and was just stimulating the economy. It’s hard to waste money unless you burn it. Follow the trail, and ultimately you’re paying for people’s daily expenses and (through any taxes) helpful services from the state. Parents should start worrying about excessive costs of such gifts when the kid is old enough to pay attention to that, in order to avoid turning them into materialistic grubs. Then they need to be upfront with potential givers of gifts and just auction ridiculous items off for charity or just give things away. The parent has to remain in control.

I just hope it’s a pedal car. The kid won’t know or care about the price tag.

But I think giving kids battery-powered toy cars is ridiculous. Don’t know if it’s still done. My neighbor’s relatives did that for her son a couple of decades ago, who was a bundle of energy and needed to work it off to keep her sane. Not only did the relatives give the kid a toy he just had to steer with no energy input- they made his mother have to keep the darned thing recharged!

The battery-powered cars are fine for kids with disabilities that keep them from using the pedals. But not a great idea for the rest. Babies who can’t pedal should just be pushed around in it at best (consider it exercise for the parent) or have it put it away until they are older.

  21. CairinaCat says:

I’m always broke but both my boys had cars
They cost 150-400$ and they are battery powered.
They rode those things to death

The top picture is so cute!
