Pete Davidson gets death threats because Ariana Grande is so hot: ‘What did I do?’

Pete Davidson was just interviewed by Howard Stern on his radio show. As is common with Pete and Ariana Grande’s interviews of late, the discussion revolved around their relationship. To Pete’s credit, he did not initiate the relationship talk this time, Stern persistently inserted Ariana into the discussion, mainly how attractive she is. Unfortunately, dating his dream girl has become a bit of a liability for Pete as he is receiving death threats… because she’s so attractive. That’s internet logic for you, I am so attracted to a person I’ve never met that I will threaten to shoot her boyfriend.

Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande may be happily engaged to most of the internet’s delight, but at one point, the very existence of the couple angered some trolls so much that they started threatening Pete’s life. In a new interview with Howard Stern on his eponymous SiriusXM show, Pete revealed he got death threats after he and Ariana started publicly dating.

“Yeah, I got a death threat,” he said in the interview. “Someone wanted to shoot me in the face, because she’s so hot. Do you know how insane that is? I was like, am I that ugly that people want to shoot me in the face? They’re like, ‘No, f*ck this guy.’ What did I do?”

Elsewhere in the interview, Pete said that abusive comments on the internet are part of the reason why he no longer has the password to his own Instagram account. “I have an account in case I have to do something, but I don’t know how to go on there,” he revealed, adding, “I don’t f*cking care. It makes me feel weird about myself. It’s just like, ‘What did you expect?’ Whenever I think of something, like, if I post something, and people just sh*t all over it, I was like, ‘What are you—you’re asking for it,’ you know?”

Look, I’m as exhausted as the next person by the circus these two have turned their relationship into but can we all agree violent comments are verboten? I’m sure it was just an incredibly stupid and unfortunate way for this random guy to explain his desire for Ariana and not a real threat, but that doesn’t make it any less terrible. This trend of casual death threats on social media is disturbing.

As for the rest of the interview, Pete said that Scooter Braun introduced him to Ariana during “a rough time,” which included, but was not limited to, their recent breakups. He spoke a little about his rehab and how he still smokes marijuana mainly because it gives him relief from his Crohns disease, but also because he, just loves smoking weed. Plus he briefly addressed Chevy Chase’s recent comments about SNL. Hint: Pete’s not a fan, and I can’t say as I blame him.

I want to end on Pete’s look in the clip because I next-to-never like what he wears. But he looks really good here. His hair is styled well and the color (that I still don’t like) is better. I love his huge Giants jacket (apologies to my team) and it goes great with his JAWS t-shirt, which I also love. The sweats aren’t my style but they’re his so I’m given him a rare win for this ensemble.

Here’s the clip with Pete talking about the death threat (NSFW – language)

That hair colour isn’t doing him any favours, he’s kinda cute with dark hair, in a nerdy way. But with the bleached hair..ugh

    • smcollins says:

Exactly what I was thinking. His natural hair color is waaaaay better. The blonde is too light and it completely washes him out, almost making him look sickly. He seems like a nice guy, and although I’m not 100% convinced that him & AG will go the distance, I wish them good luck.

    • Rescue Cat says:

So the hair color made a bigger impression on you than the death threat? Interesting.

Pete is peak millennial vanity. Your first thought when you get a death threat shouldn’t be “wait…I’m ugly?”.

  2. Jenni says:

Ariana needs to lay off the fake tan.

Pete’s comments are gross. They just are. Who says that. Seems like he was trying to play up to Stern.

The abuse and trolling they get is stupid but they are very attention seeking and clearly love the spotlight on their relationship.

It’s all lust and sex, it will wear off and they will get tired of the circus.

  3. Snowflake says:

I couldn’t be on social media if I was a celebrity. I’m too sensitive. I dont have a Facebook account either. Feel like every weirdo I ever knew would find me if i did, just have that kind of luck. I think petes cute.

  4. CharliePenn says:

He does seem like a genuine guy. Like what you see is what you get type guy. And I hope he has substance abuse issues under control.

I get him on the weed. Weed helps my chronic pain from scoliosis, it helps my anxiety level, contrary to conceptions of the “lazy, unmotivated stoner” weed helps me keep moving and get stuff done. It helps me eat when I am too stressed to do so. Basically it helps me function better through the pain and anxiety that I have and it helps me be a better mom (I do not get high around my kids, but when they are asleep I do and it makes all the difference). And guess what? I also like getting high! Lol it feels great.
I have prescriptions to help with the pain and anxiety, but they make me feel out of it, they give me a hangover, they are habit forming and can cause physical withdrawal etc etc. Weed is a gentler medicine. Sometimes I think if weed is keeping you away from things like benzos and painkillers then it’s a miracle drug. Smoke on, Pete! Just make sure you are in control.

THIS…THIS…A BILLION TIMES THIS!!!! Just a couple of puffs a day….saves me from molesting bottles of Advil…having HORRIFIC insomnia…being on the verge of several anxiety attacks on the daily…chronic pain…stomach issues…just…SO MANY THANGS….

  5. Chaine says:

He does not seem very stable. She will inevitably move on to someone else and he will go off the deep end.

  6. Nik says:

I’m surprised you didn’t mention the part where he says he use to masturbate to pictures of Ariana before they dated.

    • abbi says:

Right?! This is the takeaway from his interview, where he’s being torn apart for this elsewhere in the press for being so graphic and TMI. The part where he says he needs to think of how his father died (in graphic detail) so sex will last longer. And he thanks AG everytime after they have sex. He sounds incredibly unstable, I feel sorry for him, he is going to crash hard when this infatuation is over. And AG sounds incredibly codependent to be attracted to this.

  7. Parigo says:

I think Ariana looks super different than when she was younger. But whatever she did was gradual and looks natural.

I think Pete is cute when he doesn’t look stoned.

  8. Yes Doubtful says:

Ariana is cute, but I think his previous girlfriend was gorgeous. I don’t know why she always gets slighted.

  9. Michel says:

I don’t like this guy and do not think he is particularly funny. It may be because I’ve always has a dislike for people with no impulse control. I understand there may be some chemical imbalances at play here but I feel it’s something more along the lines of youth and immaturity. And those awful tattoos. lol.
