Just like her randy husband, Kate Gosselin now has a little place to call her own when she’s not at her estate in Pennsylvania bossing her kids around. Kate has purchased a condo in Rockville, Maryland, about a two hour and forty minute drive from her home near Reading, Pennsylvania. Incidentally, Jon’s place in New York is also about two and a half hours from home. Kate’s new place is right down the block from the office of her married bodyguard, with whom she’s been rumored to be having an affair. So are the stories about Kate and the grey-haired bodyguard true? Is she just friends with the bodyguard and is she trying to make Jon jealous? There’s something to be said about the fact that she’s still wearing her wedding ring, although it could be a savvy move meant to garner public sympathy. Regardless Kate is about to taste a little more freedom:

Oh, by the way, bodyguard Steve Neild’s office is in Rockville–just a block away from Kate’s new place. All the easier to protect her!
Kate and Jon are splitting parenting duties while splitting up. When one stays at the Pennsylvania house where the kids will remain, the other takes off to their individual apartments. Jon has a condo in New York.

Radar has the photos of Kate’s building and the neighborhood, and it looks like a fun, busy place to live with shops, a lovely courtyard, and a big public fountain. Rent for a two bedroom is $2,400 a month. Of course most married couples would have to sell their home and divide the assets in order to afford such high separate rents, but not Jon and Kate! Why get rid of that huge house when it’s already perfectly outfitted to accommodate all the cameras and crew! Their kids can continue living like little creatures in a zoo while Jon and Kate get to retreat to their own sanctuaries for privacy. It’s perfect, and probably just what they needed. TLC is never going to turn off the show now that there’s so much drama built in with the two leads fighting, dating other people, and sharing custody. Meanwhile the kids will stay at home like little props, waiting for mommy or daddy to take their turn in front of the cameras.

I’ll be honest, last week I was Team Jon… Kate seemed like such a nagging byotch! Now, I think the whole world can agree, Jon is showing his true douche colors. Maybe there was a reason for all her snarky comments and glares.
Hell, if I were in her shoes, I would have probably peaced out on his dumb ass long ago, as I am sure he didn’t turn into this big of a jackass overnight. Has he even spent anytime with his kids since the split or is he too busy yachting around and hanging with an amazing fatherly role model…Michael Lohan… WTF!? And they call Kate a media whore… You have to be desperate for more attention to hangout with Lohan. And then Jon just topped it off when he said he was trying to stay out of the spotlight… Good job Jon, I’m sure that’s what we’d all do… go to a RL Polo match with your new GF when your divorce is not even final and have Michael Lohan in tow… Nope, nobody is going to pay attention. Pure genius this guy is.
Now I am starting to realize a lot probably went down behind the zoo doors and how much the media can twist things. I love how they are making a big deal how she bought in the same town as her bodyguards OFFICE…. it’s not like she moved in next to his house! I’m about 99% sure he doesn’t live in Rockville or the media would have made about 100 headlines already about that.

I wonder if TLC has set up a “therapy account” for the kids? Mom and Dad get their big house AND a bachelor/ette pad each, the kids get all their future psychiatric needs paid for. Sounds about right.
When you have 8 kids there is no way each kid feels like they get enough attention. Now its even more reduced because they only have one parent at a time. I wish Jon and Kate had both picked bachelor pads closer to their family’s main home. Imagine there is an emergency, or a scheduling conflict and the twins have a school play on the same day the sextuplets have a doctors appointment?
They are not equally parenting, but rather switching off. If neither want to live in Pennsylvania anymore, fine. But move with the kids too.
I came from a family of 6. I was the second youngest and I never ever felt like my parents had time for me. (and they stayed together!) How can one parent split their time 8 ways? Plus their various significant others who demand attention (Im looking at you Jon)
I knew she was still boinking that bodyguard while at the same time trying to play the “victim” card. Pure laughable. Kate does her dirt too. Even worse for her is that anyone can see her evilness on tape (thanks to TLC). A perfect gift to your kids for future reference. At least Jon dates single people, not MARRIED ones who are not divorcing.

For as much as all say they’re tired of this couple, why then support the medias’ constant shoving of them down our throats. This couple is creating their own karma, good or bad. As Kate said herself – this “divorce” would have happened with or without TLC in the picture. They will be answering to their children soon enough – Let them be and the world can focus on more positive people and events. It’s not like the children don’t have their parents (one at a time or not), they look pretty well adjusted, and let’s face it … we will just have to wait til Mady is a teenager to really see the karma happen. Until then I’d rather watch something else.
I think it’s important to call attention to the plain fact of this: LET THIS NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. It’s too tragic for the kids.

@gg, I tihnk that is horrible. There are many couple out there who cannot have children of their own so they turn to fertility treatments (while I’m all for adoption) I don’t think we should take away they’re chance at children.
That being said there should be EXTENSIVE background checks and couples with 6 children (i’m talking to your octo-witch) should not be allowed treatments.
As far as J&K are concerned, I bet when they first went in they were ok. I mean now that they have fame and money it’s all gone out the window, but I wanna believe at the beginning they were decent people.
Steves office is one block from Kate’s condo, so she is one block from him. So, that being said, what is she looking for, way to convienient for me, to say that they aren’t still playing with each other. give it some time, and they’ll go public with it. Or they have dinner some night and someone will take a picture for the internet and it will be in the open. Her actions say she’s more than interested.
I will give it to Kate — though I still can’t stand her — a month ago, everyone in the world pitied Jon and HATED this C-U-N-! But all she did was stand back and leave Jon out to to embarass himself and now I can see why she couldn’t stand him.

Like a child psychologists needs to work with those kids NOW. Not only do they have a camera in their faces warping their development process, but they have endured a house move, two warring parents and a divorce. How much can these kids endure. Execs at TLC better act as their guardians and protect their financial and emotional interests. The network has certainly used them enough. If I were the TLC execs, I would mandate that all the kids individually speak to a therpist/s once a week to get them through this trying time. They needs outside, balanced support; not bed hopping materialistc parents.

I was just back in the states and looked at the same condos where she bought her place. Ewwwww. Now I am not even thinking of that anymore.
The nannies mostly watch and take care of the kids. They also have someone cook for them, take care of the land the house sits on (it’s a lot of land), take care of the pool, etc.
She also must have someone drive her from PA to Maryland, because she’s famously made a big deal on several episodes of the show about how she can’t stand to drive on the larger highways.
Girlfriend needs meds. And look at that hand sanitizer hanging from her bag. LOL!
Whoever said they’ve both abandoned the kids hit the nail on the head. Absolutely. She isn’t sitting in that house being run ragged by eight kids, far from it!

Good for her. I hope she enjoys her new home. Obviously there’s wording in the divorce agreement that requires they have their separate “homes” a certain distance from the family home in PA. Most likely this is required to stop the other from getting too involved when it isn’t their time to “parent”.
Great, now she’ll be living practically 10 minutes away from me…hope she doesn’t screw up traffic somehow, DC traffic is horrible enough without her in it!
Rockville Maryland? I lived there for several years before moving to Virginia last year and Rockville stinks, out of all the places in Maryland and she chose Rockville..
