Us Weekly: Duchess Meghan is ‘thrilled to have escaped the chaos of London’

Trump Kanye Meeting

Us Weekly decided to avoid a cover story about what’s actually happening right now in the world, and honestly, I don’t completely hate it? I like a little bit of light, fluffy gossip in between horrific stories and politics. Us Weekly’s cover story is about how the Duchess of Sussex feels like a new woman now that she’s completely done with England. Note: this cover story was released before the news broke that Meghan and Harry had moved to LA a few weeks ago. So everything is about their “new life” in Canada.

A new woman. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s move to Canada “has given her the chance to reset,” a source reveals exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly.

“Meghan’s thrilled to have escaped the chaos of London,” the insider says. “She feels like a new person. Meghan has a real spring in her step again. It’s wonderful to see her in top form.”

The insider adds that the Suits alum “felt trapped and claustrophobic” living with Harry at Frogmore Cottage in London. “She was nervous to step outside her own front door because of all the negative attention she attracted,” the source says, noting that Meghan was having panic attacks.

I think this was true as soon as the Sussexes decamped to Canada last year. Their initial six-week holiday in November-December in Canada was their trial period to see what their life would be like away from the royal rat race. Meghan was flat-out glowing when they returned in January for their Sussexit announcement, and then she looked flat-out spectacular for the final “tour” in March. Being in Canada did agree with her, and I’m sure their new LA life will agree with her too. As for the cover line about Baby #2… it would not surprise me if the Sussexes had a quarantine baby in nine months. First came Polo Baby and then comes Quarantine Baby?

    Me thinks she already preggo.

    • Bella says:

      + 1
Could have tipped the scales decisively towards moving to LA now to be close to Doria. I know about the visa situation, but I think in practice that could have been sorted out. I so feel for Meghan, she must be desperate to put down some roots, buy a permanent home etc and just GET TO WORK.

    • Wisca says:

+ 2. I think she was pregnant in London.

      • Bmore says:

I hope she is pregnant again, she can have her pregnancy this time in peace and the UK media would have to sit and cry.

  2. Yoyo says:

It just proves Tabloids know as much as the man next door, nothing.
They look at pictures and write stories.

  3. Paula says:

Somehow I always think they won’t have another Baby… considering both their experiences with their siblings, they might not see it as that essential for Archie to not be an only child.

    • susie says:

that’s why we only have one kid!

    • Ali says:

Technically Meghan grew up an only child since her half siblings were so much older.

Plus William and Harry were close until William lost his mind.

I can definitely see them having a second child.

    • Mika0720 says:

They could also be hoping to break the cycle. Maybe they want a sibling for Archie and hope to avoid the mistakes of their families. That way polo baby and quarantine baby can have healthy sibling relationship.

    • Emmitt says:

Meghan’s siblings hate her because their father gave her the attention & material items he never gave them.

Harry’s sibling hates him because even though he gets all the attention & material items, Harry gets the love and freedom.

I doubt either of them is concerned the same dynamic will happen between Archie and his sibling(s). They’re not going to give Archie all the attention and material items while ignoring the other child(ren). They’re going to love each of their children equally. Harry will give all of his children the love and doting Diana gave to him.

The sibling situation people need to worry about is that of the Cambridge children. I don’t see George ever mistreating Charlotte the way their father mistreats their uncle but I do see Louis getting lost in the shuffle and ignored. Everyone thinks Charlotte will be the next Margaret/Andrew/Harry. She will, technically, but I think Louis will be the family scapegoat/screwup, not Charlotte.

  4. Lila says:

A freedom baby! With a name to express their current sentiments, like Liberty or Felicity.

    • Yoyo says:

      I like Liberty.

    • Courtney B says:

I actually went looking after you said this for names which mean freedom. One is Lottie which is cute and would go with Archie. The only downside is it’s commonly a nickname for Charlotte. But they’re going to get dragged for any name so I’d go for it anyway. There was also Carlyn, Dorothy , Dorsey and Ellon (not Ellen though autocorrect keeps trying to say so) and Jo.

    • Virginia says:

I love Liberty for a boy or a girl.

  5. Nina says:

I hope that it’s true. Anyone should have been claustrophobic with so much toxicity.
I would definitely chose The Californian sun Over the toxicity of the royal family the British tabloids and the public

  6. Yoyo says:

They will make the decision, both of them like children, so who knows.
When Meghan became pregnant so soon after the wedding, I bet the RR had tons of stories ready to go to press, Meghan is on her tenth round of in vitro treatments.

    • (TheOG) jan90067 says:

Don’t you know: that is WHY they moved to LA!! For the in-vitro doctors!! Yeah…can definitely see that headline.

They’ve both talked of having a couple of kids; I can see one more for sure, but I don’t think they’d have one with this pandemic not under control (and yes, I realize Meg’s age could be a factor in their decision).

  7. Erinn says:

I’ve been in and out a lot lately working from home so I might have missed it. Did they actually ever speak about moving to LA? Do we know if they’re going to have two bases – one in Canada and one near her mother? It just seemed so strange that we went from hearing how much she enjoyed living in Canada to “oops they moved”. I wonder if it has anything to do with covid where so many people have been ordered to return to the country where they’re citizens?

Part of me kind of feels like an only child situation might be in the cards but if they do want to expand I hope they’re able to. They just seem like they’d be really cool parents for an only child – not that that makes them less cool if they have more. I’m totally projecting because the idea of having one child is much less scary to me than having multiple lol. I’m not going to guess whether they’re pregnant again or not, not a fan of actual bump watch or speculating on a couples sex life. But there’s definitely no denying the chemistry these two have.

    • aria says:

for me two is better because I grow up in a working parents’ house, so most of the time its good to have a siblings and they will be there for better or worst. I think harry kids will be like Margaret like Sarah Chatto and david away from chaos.

      • Erinn says:

That’s a good point, too. I had one sibling, so I’m definitely not opposed to the idea of two kids haha.

    • Erin —- I don’t believe Meghan and Harry ever commented directly about Canada or US except what was said by them on their SussexRoyal postings. All of this he said/she said crap from reliable sources is just guessing. Then when the story changes the press acts like the Sussexes are not doing what they said. In actuality, they have never publicly stated where they would settle or for how long. Many wealthy people have multiple homes that they move between.

      • Yoyo says:

Buck Palace did say they plan to divide their time between North America and England.
Please remember before all hell broke loose they planned to be working Royals, but didn’t want to deal with the Royal rotation, the Windsor’s said no, and the Sussexes said bye.

    • Yoyo says:

They could only stay in Canada for 6 months, and yes Meghan loves Canada and most likely they will be back for vacations.
Who ever owned the house allowed them to extend their stay from just a vacation stay, to three months.
After the abuse Meghan received in England, I can see her wanting to be around her mother and friends, they can trusted, so LA is the best place for them.
Once Harry get the hang on driving on the left side of the road, he will be fine.
As for Archie after the pandemic is over, he will be in play groups with other toddlers squabbling over who had it first.

      • Jaded says:

Ummm, we drive on the right side of the road here in Canada and the US, most cars have the steering wheel on the left.

  8. JollyGolightly says:

I just wanted to come out of lurking to say that I have been *so* grateful to Kaiser and all of you throughout the press coverage of Meghan and Harry and their decision to step back….mainly for this reason: Meghan received racist and classist and sexist treatment at the hands of the British press and people. Period. And the RF did nothing to protect or defend her. It’s been fascinating to see how folks deny all of this and backpedal. I am grateful that in this small corner of the Internet people are seeing and realizing the truth. Meghan laid the groundwork for an important global conversation, and it is being wasted by so many. Shame.

  9. Awkward symphony says:

I would not bet on thing like this nor guess but I agree that they’ll have another child maybe even blessed with twins which is highly likely in Meghan’s age.
The tabloids writers in the UK are pleading for clicks🤣 I’m enjoying this silence treatment which the Sussexs choose to follow for some time or until the virus is contained
