LA resident Jeremy Frisch to LA Police Comm: ‘Black lives matter, defund the police’

The LA Police Department behaves like an invading, occupying military presence in Los Angeles County for the most part. Community outreach is not the LAPD’s strength, and it really should be as one of the largest police departments in the world. So… funny story, the LA Police Commission decided to host a Zoom open mic thing where people could chat with people on the commission and air grievances and such. This is what happened:

A public Zoom call hosted by the Los Angeles Police Commission that was planned to discuss the protests following George Floyd‘s death turned into nine hours of citizens demanding that the LAPD Chief of Police resign. During the call, callers slammed the department for the LAPD’s response to the protests and demanded that Chief Michel Moore resign, after blamed protestors for the George‘s death.

Earlier this week, Chief Moore said people “capitalizing” on the protests and “looting” were just as responsible for the death of George as the officers who killed him. “His death is on their hands, as much as it is on those officers,” Moore said. He later apologized for his comments.

A citizen named Jeremy Frisch called into the meeting and he had some very harsh words for Chief Moore, saying that the LAPD is “slaughtering peaceful protestors.” Each caller was allowed 30 seconds to say what they needed to say – and boy did Jeremy take advantage of every second.

“Black lives matter. Defund the police. I find it disgusting that the LAPD is slaughtering peaceful protestors on the street,” Jeremy shouted. “I had two friends go to the protest in Beverly Hills a couple days ago and the protestors were peaceful until the police showed up with their excessive, violent force shooting rubber bullets and throwing tear gas. Is this what you think of, protecting and serving? Because I think it’s bulls–t. F–k you Michel Moore. I refuse to call you an officer or a chief because you don’t deserve those titles. You are a disgrace. Suck my d–k and choke on it. I yield my time. F–k you.”

I’m including the video clip below, which is obviously NSFW because of language. It’s mega-cathartic though. You know when dudes named Jeremy are telling cops to “suck my d-ck and choke on it,” sh-t is getting VERY REAL. While I know everything is trash and we’ve got a literal Nazi as president, can I just say? I actually appreciate that there are so many white people trying to do the work of allyship so far.

Yess 👏👏 more of this! I’m cynical enough to believe this won’t have any impact on these officials’ decision making, but their bubble certainly needs to be popped so they can hear how angry people are at this point.

More than FIFTY PERCENT of LA’s budget goes to the police. How disgusting is that? Disband the whole system and start bottom up at this point. It’s the only way to even remotely fix it.

When you hear rubber bullets, by the way, don’t be thinking they’re tiny little slugs. They’re huge, blunt objects shot from explosive canisters. From what I’ve read, they’re supposed to be fired at the ground so some of the impact force is lost before it hits the crowd. Firing straight into the crowd is an act of violence – these things can easily put people in the hospital or even kill them should they hit full force to the head. I have a friend who lives in LA and her perspective from watching it unfold all day is that it is all LAPD driven violence.

Oh my god yes! I’m so sick of people telling people they must be quiet and polite when protesting. F that, people need to get loud and crude to get the message across! I’m protesting tomorrow and I’m gonna swear as much as I possibly can before my voice goes hoarse!

Go for it Faye! Say a couple choice A words and F words for me.

Please wear a mask, I don’t want you to get sick. I had a mild case of Covid-19. 6 weeks to recover and my lungs are still sensitive to every possible irritant. If I curse marched with you, I would keel over coughing. No more Covid, just damage taking its time repairing. Also, maybe a helmet and some googles. Don’t trust those b#&$*es. I

I loved Jeremy’s message (“Suck my d–k and choke on it.” is probably not a great message from a feminist standpoint, but I bet it felt really good to say)
