Bow Wow played to a packed maskless crowd at club in Houston over the weekend

Bow Wow Performs Live At Flamingo Las Vegas
The U.S. will hit 400,000 covid deaths before Tuesday and spikes are happening all over the country. Despite these deplorable numbers there are people still willing to risk it all to hang out in crowds without masks. Between the illegal superspreader parties in L.A. and a street party in Alabama that attracted thousands of non-mask wearers it is no wonder why ICUs are full in so many places. All I know is we will be in this holding pattern where we can’t see family and friends or travel because of these selfish fools.

Another celebrity is being called out for having a concert in a club with several hundred mostly unmasked people. Bow Wow was outed for doing a performance of his 2005 song “Like You” in a club in Houston, Texas this weekend. Many of those in attendance were posting videos of the performance on social media. Supposedly there were other artists performing as well but there has been no evidence to prove this claim. Below are a few deets from Page Six:

The 33-year-old is seen performing his 2005 hit “Like You” in a packed club, where most patrons are not wearing face masks. The move led social media to question both the artist and his fans who chose to risk their health for one night out.

Fans claim there were other celebrities in attendance, but it seems the rapper and “Growing Up Hip Hop” star is receiving the brunt of the backlash.

Ya’ll I am so tired of these selfish people. Like, we are ALL suffering right now. We are ALL dealing with isolation because of covid. But many of us are willing to not see friends and family for a short period of time. We want to get this virus under control so that we can get back to a normalish life. I don’t understand the people who STILL don’t believe this virus is real or just don’t care how they could be spreading it because of their irresponsible behavior.

Bow Wow and whomever was with him should have known better. I know it is difficult for artists right now because many are not working and are trying to find ways to make money. Some are taking these unnecessary risks to stay afloat. Whatever the case, the people who arranged the performance and those who showed up really need to look at their life choices. I am now expecting there to be a huge spike in covid in about two weeks that will be hitting our already exhausted medical workers.

Below are a few tweets about the performance:

Imagine risking your life and the life of your loved ones for going to see **checks notes** Bow Wow perform at a club.. we are doomed.

  2. Lucy2 says:

I just do not understand the selfishness and stupidity.

  3. Scal says:

Numbers are really really bad in Houston right now-and 5K people just got turned away from the vaccine event because they double booked it. So many case governor just reduced occupancy-so I’m not even sure how this club managed it (bars are closed)

I’m so tired. I haven’t seen my parents in over a year, I miss my coworkers, and my kids miss getting out. This is never going to end.

  4. Who ARE these people? says:

And how is it the club was allowed to be open in the first place?

    • BearcatLawyer says:

Right now there is “reduced capacity” – not an outright ban in Houston. The bars near my house are packed every evening. It is ludicrous and just makes me think we are all going to die.

    Stupid is as stupid does

  6. Lanie says:

I’d never want it to be known that I died of Coronavirus because I went to go see Shad “Bow Wow” Moss sing his dusty old songs. These people could’ve listened to “Shorty Like Mine” on Spotify at home.

And let it be said, black people who host concerts, host brunches in their packed restaurants, etc. Do. Not. Give. A. Single. Fuck. About. Black. Lives.

That’s still us out there dying disproportionately from COVID-19.

  7. SarahCS says:

I’m not particularly paranoid as a rule and statistically I’m fairly low risk if I were to catch this but even I get twitchy if someone gets too close to me in a shop or I don’t have the chance to step out into the street to avoid passing someone too closely on the pavement when i’m out walking (I’ve stopped going out altogether during daylight hours at the weekends because there are just people everywhere.

Anyway, long was around to say that I wouldn’t be in a club or that close to people anytime soon!!

    • Lexy says:

I get what you’re saying, but the thing about this virus is that there is no such thing as “low risk”. Young, healthy people are dying from this. Those that survive are already seeing long term side effects. No one knows how this virus will affect them.

I lived in blue states all my life until a move to Houston. I’ll never trust my life to a red state again.

  9. Radioactive says:

Let’s just say we didn’t have a pandemic to worry about…why see BOW WOW.

    BOW WOW??!!

  10. ME says:

Morons, all of them. This is why this pandemic hasn’t ended. Selfish a$$holes who care more about their social lives than actual lives ! People acted like the second wave was inevitable…yeah it only happened because of people’s behavior ! By the way Bow Wow wasn’t the only one there, Meek Mill and a few other performers were also there. Bow Wow is getting most of the hate because people can’t fathom risking their lives to see him perform…but I don’t care if Micheal Jackson came back from the dead and was doing only one show…stay the f*ck home !

Every single ignorant, stupid, selfish maskless a*hole is primarily responsible for someone’s illness or death. Check the WHO worldwide COVID dashboard. The US has the highest number of COVID cases and more than 2x the cases than the next highest ranking country. I’m so sickened by the state of our country and so disappointed in the majority of it’s people. The ignorance, violence and cruelty is abhorrent.

    • Anna says:

It is absolute cruelty. I came home today exhausted after hours biking in the snow unsuccessfully tryig to get a covid test after someone I care about took me to a gathering in an enclosed space full of unmasked people (for the record, I thought it was just going to be us two), and had to deal with residents waiting for the elevator without any masks on. Even though we were onlly there for 15 minutes and I was double-maksed with charcoal filter, glasses, and glvoes, I’m still shaken by the experience and panicked that I could have gotten it which will affect my livelihood, too.

  12. Chigirlie says:

People are truly thinking selfishly about their individual enjoyment over the risks of possibly losing their life or causing the loss of another person’s life. The entitlement is real smh. Some people are so self centered. This is baffling.

  13. Valerie says:

What is wrong with the people who organized and allowed the event?
