I love him but my LGBT BFF says he is viewed as problematic by many in the LGBT++ community.

    • Vavavoom says:

It makes me sad when I hear that, I mean everyone is so very different. He is his own person, so he will be a role model to whichever LGBT person relates to him. You can’t be everything to everyone .. something I’ve taken 46 years to realize. Life is too short.

      • Snappyfish says:

It makes me angry as well. He is who he is unashamedly & that is something everyone should aspire to. He is smart & kind & a decent person & a loving husband. I adore him & I was @ND when he was mayor & he did a great job for everyone. Don’t believe the BS people tried to spin. I can’t wait until I can vote for him for POTUS & Chasten can be 1st Gentleman after Doug!!

    • Petra says:

Why is he viewed as problematic by LGBT++ community?

      • Snuffles says:

Yeah, why? I’m not gay but I’m assuming LGBTQA+ come in all types. I mean he’s a geeky intellectual, Christian and former military man. They’re not all fabulous like RuPaul or Billy Porter.

      • petra-p says:

He’s not problematic. That’s a smear attack on him from the primaries by the ultra-woke police and bernie-bro internet army. They want to label him as just another straight, white guy. That he’s not gay enough and would not do anything for LGBTQA+ issues.
He was criticized by over WOKE lgbtqa+ community because he would not take on their platform as his own. He would not CLAIM himself as the “gay candidate” and campaign on a ‘pro-gay platform’.
They also try to cast him as “not liked by black people” which is bullshit. Black people that don’t like him don’t because they were feed a sh*t load of Berie-Bro/BLM rhetoric.

SB police has had racist police problems/shootings long before MP was in office. It’s fair to put pressure on him as mayor, but it’s not fair to punish him for not ignoring IN law in order to satisfy unrealistic expectations. He did what he was able to do within the limits of IN law which was not enough to make a difference and so of course people are angry. He might have made some mistakes, but long standing blacks in SB know the police problem in SB is way bigger than anything MP could take on. Just as the whole nation since George Floyd can now see how deep white supremacy goes into law enforcement across the country.

Point being, it’s fine to criticize MP for unsatisfactory job weeding out racist police in SB – fair enough; that he wasn’t the hero mayor to take on the FOP Union – fine. But “problematic”?? As though he’s perhaps a white supremacist sympathizer? Totally baseless BS.

    • Jaded says:

Can you explain why they feel he is problematic? If you make a statement like that please back it up with some solid information.

  2. Nina Simone says:

Mmm surprise surprise the criminal justice system is flawed. Kyle Rittenhouse knows he’s protected by it and does what he wants. how nice ! **eyeroll

  3. Normades says:

I know she has other things to do but I love all these Kamala swearing ins.

Trading places was such a great R rated 80s movie. Definitely want to see it again now.

  4. Jay says:

They didn’t even put one of those little ankle bracelet trackers on an alleged murderer?

    • whatWHAT? says:

      you white, you alright.

he never should have been granted bond.

    • Jaded says:

Because he’s a white little Wisconsin racist and they probably worship him there. “Boys will be boys” and a tap on the wrist.

  5. TheOriginalMia says:

Good for Buttigieg. I feel he played the game better than other Dem candidates, who were hoping for Cabinet positions.

Rittenhouse should have never been allowed out of jail. His parents were the ones to provide him with his guns. They raised him to be a psychopath. Why in the hell would any judge entrust them to keep him out of trouble?

    • Stacy Dresden says:

He really went to bat during Biden’s campaign. That one Fox News appearance was absolutely hilarious. Those dildos didn’t even know what hit them, they were speechless

      • lucy2 says:

I wasn’t sold on him as a POTUS candidate yet, but I do agree he was awesome campaigning for Biden. I loved how he just very calmly shot down all the craziness.
And I think he’ll do a good job as a Cabinet member.

      • Snuffles says:

I think Petey has potential. He just needs to gain more experience. His new post should help.

  6. Vavavoom says:

My family (my parents, my brother and I) watched Trading Places every Christmas while I was growing up. We still do, although this year it was apart.. but we watched it. Such a fantastic movie and Eddie Murphy deserves all the awards always!!!
I’m anxiously awaiting Coming to America II !!

And.. go Pete! I am from Canada, but I wanted him to be the Presidential candidate.. this makes me happy! With this experience, he’ll be an even better candidate next time he runs!

  7. tifzlan says:

There are innocent people who have been incarcerated for decades at Guantanamo Bay but a known, proven murderer and menace is partying up in bars and signing autographs for people with no one checking up or keeping tabs on him.

The United States of America is a sick, broken country.

  8. lanne says:

I LOVE Trading Places!!! Great Christmas movie. Ediie Murphy was like 21 or 22 in that movie, and Dan Ackroyd was hilarious. Denholm Elliot as the Butler–yes, there’s some humor we wince at today (Dan Ackroyd in blackface) but it holds up really well. Whenever I’m in a train, I have to stop myself from bouncing up and down in my seat, clapping, and saying “we are moving! we are moving!” in Eddie Murphy’s “I’m a student from Cameroon” voice.

    • Vavavoom says:

HAHA! I love that scene. I always say “I am INGA from SVEDEN!”, and do the song he sang as Lionel Joseph .. 😀 The whole cast was incredible, I even had Coleman on a short list of names for my child one day although I didn’t end up using it.

Ahhhh Wisconsin! The first Runner Up to Flori-duh in the WTH Sweepstakes.

  10. Justjj says:

What is this moment happening with that LV sweater and her outfit? Does it have shoulder pads?

    • SarahCS says:

Does whoever is designing there these days hate people or are they so surrounded by sycophants that they have no idea their clothes are hideous?

  11. minx says:

    Congrats to Secretary Pete.

  12. Abby says:

I haven’t seen it anywhere but can we talk about Martha Stewart on Instagram? She looks much younger. Is it filters? A really good plastic surgeon? Drinking a magic potion?

  13. Christina says:

Seeing Diana’s wedding, you can really see how much Evan Ross takes after his dad, Arne. Same face.

I remember, and I was thrilled for them.

Too much awful. Have to grab onto the beauty.

  14. petra-p says:

    congrats Secretary Pete!

  15. Yoyo says:

    Congrats Secretary Pete!

  16. Apple Tart says:

He will always be Transportation Secretary Mayor Pete to me.
