Professional troll Katie Hopkins kicked out of Australia, called ‘appalling’

Katie Hopkins is the UK equivalent of a female Tucker Carlson. She is known for getting punked by Youtubers Josh Pieters and Archie Manners who gave her the “C*NT of the Year Award.” Katie was recently booted out of Australia after traveling there to appear on Australia’s Big Brother VIP show. Katie thought it would be funny to harass the hotel staff where she was in a mandatory 14-day quarantine. Katie also thought that it would be cool to brag about flouting the Australian rules by posting on her Instagram (because she was banned from Twitter last year) that she planned to breach restrictions by opening her hotel door without a mask and naked when her food was delivered (like eww). The Australian government didn’t take these declarations lightly and sent Katie packing, from Sussex Street no less, back to the UK on their earliest flight Monday. Below are a few more details from USA Today:

Hopkins traveled to Australia to appear in a reality television program and was in a 14-day mandatory hotel quarantine in Sydney before filming was to start.

Her flight to Australia last week created outrage after the government halved the number of Australian citizens and permanent residents allowed to return home each week to 3,000 to try to reduce the risk of COVID-19 leaking from hotel quarantine. More than 34,000 Australians who want to come home remain stranded overseas.

Australia’s two largest cities, Sydney and Melbourne, are under lockdown to contain a coronavirus outbreak caused by the more contagious delta variant.

“It’s appalling that this individual behaved the way that she did and she will be leaving,” Andrews said.

“We will be getting her out of the country as soon as we can arrange that.”

Hopkins left on a commercial flight from Sydney’s airport early Monday afternoon, a government official said on condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to make the information public.

“The fact that she was out there boasting about breaching quarantine was just appalling,” Andrews said. “It was a slap in the face for all those Australians who are currently in lockdown, and it’s just unacceptable behavior.”

Seven Network and Endemol Shine Australia, the production company behind the program “Big Brother VIP” in which Hopkins was to appear, said Sunday that her contract was canceled.

“Seven and Endemol Shine strongly condemn her irresponsible and reckless comments in hotel quarantine,” the companies said in a joint statement.

[From USA Today]

As I was reading this story on Twitter, I literally almost choked on my British Breakfast tea when I saw that the Australian government picked Katie up from Sussex Street. Katie has been one of the hacks heaping racist abuse on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex so the irony is not lost on me. I swear Harry and Meghan’s spiritual team and ancestors are all about that karma energy.

The fact that Katie thought that she wouldn’t suffer any consequences for her latest stunt is laughable. It seems that Katie also believed that Australia, which is in another lockdown due to an outbreak of the Delta variant, wouldn’t take her seriously and send her packing. A lot of these personalities who believe that their whiteness will protect them from the consequences of their actions are finding out real quick that the world is tired of their nonsense. I also love that Katie lost out on a pay day as her contract with Big Brother Australia got canceled. I am glad that Australia stood up to her. I look forward to the day when Katie and her ilk are not given a platform to spread their hate and stupidity.

good, she’s the worst. I’m glad she’s finally had some form of comeuppance – still far too mild for how rotten her soul is.

    • holly says:

F*ck Channel 7 for inviting her and arranging her visa and…
F*ck the Australian federal government for granting that visa.

    • SKF says:

There was a great tweet about Australia getting her to fly 23 hours to come here, putting her in quarantine, then sending her on a 23 hour flight home. I hope every minute of those flights and that quarantine sucked.

Channel 7 should be strongly condemned for signing up someone who calls for ethnic cleansing and genocidal acts. They are disgusting.

The State and Federal governments need to be strongly condemned for rubber stamping this woman in when many Australians can’t currently get home.

Barnaby is a sexual harasser and climate change denier who just managed to fight his way back into the leadership of the Nationals and therefore Deputy PM in the Coalition and on day 2 was fined for not wearing his mask. He’s a moron and an embarrassment and should not be in any position of power.

Also, we are currently in lockdown because our completely inept PM and his party have a) failed to build/set up purpose-built quarantine facilities meaning we keep getting leaks from hotels into our most heavily populated cities and also meaning many Aussies can’t get home due to the resulting caps on returnees; and b) completely f-cked up our vaccine purchasing, roll-out and comms messaging around it.

      • Josy says:

Well said – this is a great summary of what’s happening in Australia

      • SallyM says:

Absolutely! Joyce is a hypocrite on this. But I’m still glad that horrible woman has been deported.

  2. Seraphina says:

I agree with the Deputy PM – you need to respect the laws of the country you are visiting during a pandemic no less. If you act like a turd then you deserve to get flushed down the toilet.

    • Mac says:

Yep, she eff-ed around and found out.

    • terra says:

I am going to start substituting ‘pack your bongos’ for ‘pack your bags,’ ‘get out,’ ‘leave now, Devil Woman,’ etc. from now on.

(That last one may or may not be planned with my mother – and Katie Hopkins! – in mind. Really couldn’t say.)

  3. Mu says:

These kinds of people are Cambridge fans. Are you proud Cambridge?

  4. E.D says:

So embarrassing that we even let her into the country to start off with – especially when so many people are struggling to get back home with all the restrictions going on down here.

How she ever counted as a ‘celebrity’ and got an exemption to enter the country is simply beyond me?

So happy they sent her packing.

  5. Andrew’s Nemesis says:

This woman is the UK’s Marjorie Taylor Greene. She has referred to immigrants as ‘cockroaches’ and called for a New Final Solution. She is irredeemable trash, so vile that I hit the horizon of words when trying to describe her. I hate her with every fibre of my being.

  6. Lauren says:

I love when being a major ahole has consequences. And as one of the tweets above said, she has to declare now to every country she attempts to visit that she has been deported from Australia and why and she might very well be denied entry. Glorious.

    • helonearth says:

This is the highlight of the situation for me. She will have to explain over and over what an idiot she was. I am hoping all countries will now stop her travelling abroad.

    • Merricat says:

      Yes, lovely consequences!

    • SarahCS says:

This is definitely the best bit. I mean she lost a pay cheque but there are other lowlifes who will happily pay her to talk about her OUTRAGE and how her FREEDOM was taken, blah, blah, blah but this will stick with her and cause future problems. Good.

  7. Nikki* says:

AWESOME!! Wish there was more response to all the rule breakers here in the US. Oh wait…we don’t have any rules here about Covid because our states’ governors are too stupid.

    • Betsy says:

That’s not quite right. The Democratic governors have been taking it seriously; it’s the GOP that keeps fudging it up. In my state, the Democratic governor has been great, but the GOP reps have been forcing things to open, fighting mask mandates, etc. This is not a both sides thing, this is the GOP trying to make covid worse so that Biden can’t win the midterms. And it’s horrific.

    • Courtney B says:

DeSantis is the worst. Some of the cruise lines are fighting back against his ban on vaccine passports. They’re instituting penalties, expensive requirements and bans on certain areas of the ship if you’re not vaccinated. Basically making it too unattractive to book. I hope some start to pull out and leave from elsewhere. Though not Texas. Maybe New Orleans, Boston, NY or Baltimore Md where cruises already leave from.

  8. Chaine says:

46 years old??! Can someone check her birth certificate, not buying it.

    • Golly Gee says:

That’s prize me too. She looks 10 years older.

    • SarahCS says:

Yeah I’m not convinced by that claim. We know she’ll say anything to suit her current agenda so it’s no stretch that her official age is a lie.

    • BothSidesNow says:

46 my ass!! Try late ‘60’s, because that face is much older than 46!! It’s about time someone face consequences for their utter lack of following rules as they feel that they don’t apply to them, which Hopkins felt it was beneath her. Lovely that she will be labeled forever having been booted out of AU!! Well done, Australia!!

Though, I have such a deep respect for AU and NZ!! The powers to be are incredibly well functioning adults doing what is right for their citizens!! Though, I am curious as to why their own citizens are not allowed to return, especially if they are willing to self quarantine at the proper facilities.

      • Lou says:

They’re not allowed because the spots in official quarantine are limited, so you can only come back if you’ve booked a spot.

    • SallyM says:

True, I am 44 and she looks old enough to be my mother. Then again, she is so hateful that the hate has aged her.

  9. Golly Gee says:

Hey Australia, you’re one of Britain’s colonies. How dare you throw out one of her citizens? 😂😜
I wouldn’t be surprised if she looked down her nose at Australia as some backwater where she could do as she liked. I’ll bet being escorted out of the country like a powerless prisoner wiped the smile off her face.

  10. britt mezher says:

We campaigned hard on Twitter with petitions, gaining well over 25,000 signatures when I last checked.

Australia already knew how grotesque Katie Hopkins was, but our inept Home Affairs Minister, Karen Andrews, let that bitch in anyway.

This is all whilst many stranded Australians are trying to make it home and have been for months throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Katie Hopkins got the kick in the arse she deserved.

Australia doesn’t want to see your face ever again Katie.

    • Golly Gee says:

It’s uplifting to see the positive (although infrequent) side of social media for a change. I’m glad you’ve gotten rid of her and her contract with the show is canceled, so she will not be back. Actual consequences. 👍

    • Izzy says:

You should start a new petition to have that home affairs minister sacked for incompetence and for cruelty towards Australians.

    • Seaflower says:

Andrews let her in, and then when the proverbial hit the fan blamed the NSW govt (who aren’t covered in glory currently with their mishandling of the delta outbreak which has spread both regionally and nationally. Blaming others seems a current LNP trait frankly).

Barnaby (Dep PM) is a tool (IMO) but he did get the “pack your bongos” bit right.

  11. Izzy says:

    Those Tweets are… *chef’s kiss*

  12. NiqGee says:

These people just won’t let Diana and Meghan’s ancestors rest. They just keep them working overtime with the karma from the ancestral plane. But they are getting their comeuppance one by one. That horrible Prince Harry impersonator also lost gigs and lost his management team after tweeting racist things about the England footballers. One by one…

  13. Willow says:

So Australia strands it’s own citizens overseas but let’s in professional trolls? Meanwhile, over here in the USA, we’ve got so much idiotic stuff going on, I don’t even know where to start. Maybe a billionaire or two, will actually stay in space?

  14. Valerie says:

LOL. And all the people who are against it are the ones who like to talk the most about obeying the laws of their country.

  15. Blairski says:

Always warms my heart when one of these trolls actually faces consequences.

  16. Courtney B says:

I’m almost crying laughing at the fact that she’ll have to list that deportation forever. 😆 I’m hoping that it’s announced that not only was her contract canceled, she’s sued over it. I mean, filming is about to start and now they’re short a person and, with quarantine, it’s not like you can just grab somebody. And , to top it off, she didn’t even do what she was saying. Just saying it was enough to get her booted. 😝 So at least she didn’t put anyone in harm’s way.
