I was happy the gender-reveal people were being charged, but when I read the article, part of me wondered if they only reason was because they are Hispanic. From their foolishness, I’d assumed they were just white. Would they still have been arrested if they were?

I actually wondered the same. Others have been charged in the past, and I’m not sure if anyone died in the wildfires caused by previous gender reveal idiocy. It needs to be done though. People need to know that there are serious consequences.

I’m just here to say that I started watching Loki and I have a new found flame for Tom. Second, Mindy is so cute as the voice of Val in Monsters at Work.
Tom is very sweet and has the loveliest voice. I feel like I weirdly fell out of love with him throughout watching Loki and this promotional tour (too Tom’d out? Idk.), which is NOT what I was expecting to happen, but I generally appreciate what a lovely person he is.

Always wondered about celebrities reading bedtime stories. Do the parents hold up their computer or iPad and show the child in bed, the screen? Why don’t the parents just hold up a book and do the reading themselves? Seems a bit complicated.

I’m a kindergarten teacher. There’s a smart board I’m my classroom. I have a quiet time after our big recess transition indoors where I turn the lights down and put storyline online on the smart board during that time. Students can watch, draw, have a snack, as long as they’re taking care of themselves quietly. Storyline online is such a great resource for this time when I’m not free to entertain the students while I help with puting coats up, hand washing and so on. It doesn’t serve as a replacement to actual storytime though. I imagine parents use these videos similarly at home. Though it wouldn’t surprise me if a child is just left alone in bed with an ipad and a video story, which saddens me very much.
Oh I totally get that. I used Mr. Rodgers and Barney for my own downtime with my kids and now use Peppa Pig for quiet time with my granddaughter. Just found the concept of it being a “bedtime” story funny.
My son LOVED watching Michelle Obama read books last year. He would say “is that lady going to read me a story today?!” And when Barack came on he was like “who dat man?”
Usually we would watch the episode 3 or 4 times then he would go find the book she had been reading and we would read it together several times. And if we didn’t own the book he just picked another. Of course right now his favorite is the “Annie Story” which is a random story that he made up and I must repeat several times a day.
