Mazel tov! I went through all the pictures in Vogue. It was a very Lena wedding. I just don’t understand why you had to dress up all the bridesmaids in the same dress for wedding prep? Was she just trying to promote The Vampire’s Wife (a brand I love btw). Their wedding cakes were fantastic. Hope they have a happy life together.

It is totally for Instagram, but apparently these events often include bridesmaids and just friends, so it helps the people actually doing the hair and makeup keep track of who their clients are. They need to focus on the wedding party, not the friends. This is why wedding planners encourage it. They say it’s for the pictures and the memories, but it keeps the who we are paid to work on lines clear.
I scrolled through the DListed coverage of the wedding and I just want to brush everyone’s hair.

She’s spent so many years being so aggressively unattractive (physically and personality wise) that I find her unpleasant to look at to this day. Ever since she was making dull-eyed, open mouthed faces in ill fitting clothes on red carpets all the way through her caping for a rapist at a Black woman’s expense. It’s like she’s hugely insecure while simultaneously being massively narcissistic.
It bugs the shit out of me that she’s supposedly some representative for body positivity when she often comes across as loudly self loathing.

I have so many young girls in my office that are out of shape with lots of tattoos because she is their role model. They don’t seem to understand that if you aren’t fit when you are young (and by that I mean healthy and strong not skinny) it will not get better or easier when you get older. I’m twenty years older than them and my husband jokes I must feel good about aging compared to them and he’s right.

Taylor loves a wedding more than the person getting married. Remember when she said she was planning her wedding since she was a kid and how she would interlope her friends weddings.

She looked a fright. I understand health problems can contribute to the weight gain and low muscle tone she has going on. Been through it myself, many have. But what accounts for the absolute disheveled, dirty looking STATE of herself and her groom? The guy seems nice, artistic, healthy, all good. But he looks filthy at all times. They both look like they couldn’t even be bothered to bathe on their own wedding day. I don’t get it.
I feel bad for her as her weight gives her such a middle-aged lady vibe when her behavior and self expression is more “manic pre-schooler.” Not a great combo.
She doesn’t get under my skin the way she does most people (and, look, I get it). I will say this though – as bad as her styling usually is, that photo of her in the black dress is probably the best I’ve seen her look.

I avoided her like the plague until lockdown, when I decided to watch Girls with my grandmother (lol). It was a good show, it has some great episodes. Then we watched Camping, it was SO BAD!
Maybe she’s still riding on her Girls fame and that’s why she get’s this kind of publicity?

Lena is a problematic person- especially her support of a man accused of assault and how she treated a WOC. She also is very talented(the American B%^&* and One Man’s Trash episodes of Girls are supremely excellent tv).
I feel some sympathy for her with her health struggles and her history with toxic relationships. I wish her all the best in her marriage but more than that I hope she can grow as a person and an artist and learn from her problematic behaviours.
As to the wedding pictures, I dislike all of the fashion.

I never really paid attention to Lena one way or the other. But my immeditate thought was they both looked like they smelled. The smudged under eye makeup, the uncombed hair, and overall disheveled appearance on their wedding day? On the filp side though, I love Taylor’s dress 🙂
Lookong though today’s posts, I can see Jake Gylenhaal had to assure the public he is not allergic to shower. I would like to hear Lena’s stance on shower because this looks like a house partly of smelly old hippies. Well but maybe a couple that is afraid of the comb together, stays together.
I’m generally all for an offbeat, weird wedding, but jeez. This is awfully…niche. Supposedly, they based on it John Lennon and Yoko Ono, but I think there’s a way of invoking the hippie spirit and bohemian thing while still…you know, being clean. They come off as trying so hard to be “different” that they just wind up being really awkward and cringey.
