Is NYC experiencing an extreme cold front that the rest of the northeast is missing? Seriously, I’m wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and have a window open in every room today. What’s with the bulky coats?

She’s stiff, flat and has no comic timing. And that line about looking better than everyone else fails completely because she’s not better looking that the two women standing on either side of her. Cecily Strong is a beauty.

    • minx says:

Cecily Strong is gorgeous, she also has a great figure and long legs. And she’s just funny as hell.

    • Mel says:

Nope, I wore a t-shirt and jeans to go grocery shopping. I was hot in the jeans. She’s doing way too much because she’s only interested in how she looks, not if she’s comfortable or even if what she’s wearing makes sense.

    • Lucy2 says:

Kim really has absolutely no charisma. And I agree Cecily is gorgeous!

And yes, almost 80° here today, I’m just a bit south of NYC

      • Kathryn says:

I live in NYC and not nearly cold enough for these ensembles. I’ve just been wearing a shirt and pants and there have been a few days this week shorts would have been fine, too. What people don’t think about though is these people are not strolling around/power walking around NYC so how they dress doesn’t really matter. They go 10 feet from building to car and get dropped at their hotel so they’re not really exposed to the climate

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

It’s cold enough for people that live in the west coast. It always happens.

    • JanetDR says:

Cecily is so beautiful, so funny and a real presence on the show! I imagine that Kim will be somewhat adequate.

      • BothSidesNow says:

@ JanetDR, please don’t hold your breath, as KKrayKrayWest is as flat as a pancake!! Poor SNL cast this weekend.

    • The Recluse says:

That one bundled up pic looks like she’s trying to cosplay Garbo – the elusive star look.
I will watch SNL, but for the actual comedy and will deign to ignore her.

    • SharonA says:

To be fair, she may not be used to these temps. My brother (RIP) was stationed in California for awhile (we’re from NJ) He said it was the 70’s and Californians had on coats while he was wearing shorts and a cutoff shirt. He was amused.

  2. heygingersnaps says:

Rooting for Lewis and Vettel has been growing on me since he left Ferrari.
I still don’t understand this “bad art friend” 😓 but Dorland seems incredibly needy.

    • Brandy Alexander says:

I’m a huge Lewis fan and rooting for him too! Vettal has grown on me since he left Red Bull. I do not like Verstappen either, so I think it may be something about the culture at Red Bull that makes me not like their drivers. Christian Horner gets on my nerves.

      • heygingersnaps says:

Don’t get me started on Horner and Marko. Seems like such a toxic place to work unless your their current star driver. Ferrari seems to have improved since Binotto became their team principal, a bit more open and less uptight than when Arrivabene was in charge.

      • Seaflower says:

I agree re RB culture – it’s arrogant and it rubs off on the drivers. Rooting for Vettel & Lewis too.

There seems to be gossip that all is not well at Ferrari this season with rumors Sainz is causing issues between Le Clerc and Binotto – gossip, its everywhere

  3. minx says:

It’s because she has no talent or ability.

  4. JT says:

    I want those boots.

  5. WithTheAmerican says:

Surprising no one, Kim has no talent other than narcissism.

    • BothSidesNow says:

Yes, she is blessed in narcissism and plastic.

I wonder if she can be recycled?????

      • WithTheAmerican says:

Omg I needed that laugh thank you! And no, she can’t. We can’t recycle toxic material!

  6. Lady D says:

That Buzzfeed article is pretty funny.

    • BothSidesNow says:

@ LadyD, really? I was irritated, though I am sick with an awful head cold and feel miserable. Those pictures reminded me of my husband, not me. I would be angry though if someone cut into a cake/casserole/brownie like that, the sandwich isn’t too bad. As for the butter dish, I have done that on our toaster oven 100x’s!!

  7. Noki says:

Kim should thank her lucky stars she had her whole family to carry the show. It would not have seen a season 2 if it was just her alone.

  8. notsoanonymous says:

I am so excited to see Halsey perform live with her new songs!

  9. Madpoe says:

I understand weighted blankets, I love mine, but weighted pleather sofa coats? It’s cooler in nyc but just wearing a sweatjacket last night was too warm for me. Imma skip on this gym glam hobo bank robber look too.

  10. Chaine says:

Why Kim, and why now? She is well past her sell-by date in terms of cultural relevance.

    • bettyrose says:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: SNL understands the value of a train wreck episode, and bless them for it. They were gasping their last breath before 45 stormed on the scene as SNL’s greatest wet dream, but those days are over. We’re living in politically dull times and thank goodness for that. It’s the tiktok era now, so it’s not really clear who SNL is for any more. Boomers and Xers made this show and now we’re too sleepy to watch it. But yet I’m fascinated to see how they humiliate Kim Kardashian, and fully plan to watch that next Sunday morning.

      • Pixelated says:

I agree, however, I think SNL still has a role to play and could get its second wind. It’s really the cast that drives the show, and the current one just seems tired to me.
Fresh and funny comedic talent is still around but it’s not being picked up by SNL, in general. Some of the funniest people I’ve seen have started on social media and then got picked up by Netflix or someone else. Perhaps Lorne Michaels needs to step down.

      • The Recluse says:

I disagree. As long as they have the likes of Sinema, Manchin, et al to lampoon, SNL will be fine.

      • Elaine Stritch says:

@pixelated I think it’s pretty well known that Lorne is stepping down after 50- I wonder who his successor will be… maybe Tina Fey?

  11. mariahlee says:

Celebs are obvi trying to get their fall looks off in NY since they have less opportunity to do so in LA. That’s why the bewilderment over Meghan was annoying bc the next day JLo was wearing a fur coat and timbs. NY trips are for fashion photo ops. Let women (and fashion) live!!!

    • BothSidesNow says:

@ mariahlee, also, JLo was wearing the next collab with Coach, that’s why she was walking around in that jacket, it’s coming out soon, I guess.

  12. ME says:

I wonder how many suitcases she brought to NYC with her? My God. Also, why does she always wear gloves now?

I’s being reported Dave Chappelle, Michelle Wolf, Ellen DeGeneres, Amy Schumer and James Corden are all helping Kim get ready for her SNL hosting gig. WHY ???

Kim posted she’s studying for the Baby Bar while rehearsing for SNL. This woman is so full of sh*t. I guess we can assume she failed her third attempt at the Baby Bar and is going for number 4 now?

    • BothSidesNow says:

She will be up to triple or more digits for the baby bar, she might pass it before she passes away!

    • Lady D says:

I saw a picture of Paris Hilton on her way to Africa for three weeks. She had 5 hatboxes, 17 suitcases and three steamer trunks. I’m not sure when it was taken, I think FIFA was being held in Africa at the time. I have to admit, I was staggered that anyone would need that much luggage for a three-week stay. It seem so excessive for one person.

  13. Queen Meghan’s Hand says:

    I think the sketches work.

  14. Eve says:

“Honestly, all of these things would annoy the hell out of me as well. [Buzzfeed]”

Ok, I have a mild case of OCD. Although a friend of mine once said my “OCD had OCDs”.

After looking at some (or all) of those pictures, my palms were sweating.

    *inhales deeply*

    • BothSidesNow says:

Thank you Eve!!! It pissed me off!

      • AMAyson1977 says:

Cosign. All of that was lazy, messy, and disrespectful of the people you live with (except for the sandwich, which was not the way I cut them, but thanks for making lunch, mom. Dad can STFU unless he wants to take over that task.)

The towels were AWFUL. The plate of butter on the toaster gave me heart palpitations. The dishwasher, ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Who raised these people??

      • Normades says:

Meh. Women still do all the heavy lifting for household chores. Mom was probably sick and tired of everyone leaving their dirty dishes in the sink so she packed them all in at once. Than Dad takes a snarky picture.

  15. Elaine Stritch says:

This is as good as any of the promos….

  16. Same says:

I see she’s still trying to make fetch happen.

for years we blamed her horrid fashion on Kanye…

    • Wiglet Watcher says:

For years Kanye was the #1 influence on her image and fashion.
Before that she was being dressed by reputable stylists and the worst she ever looked was because she didn’t understand her size and wanted to still fit I to smaller numbers.

Maybe it’s true he’s still been influencing her.

  17. Mimi says:

My gosh everyone hates on Kim so much who knows she might shock us all! LOL

  18. Meh says:

She sucks. Halsey looks so over it lol

  19. LovesitinNM says:

I just watched a few of the clips from last night with Kim on SNL. I liked the guest family appearances and how she really made fun of herself and her family.
There’s more I didn’t see so I’ll probably try to see the whole episode sometime this week. I haven’t watched a whole episode of SNL for at least a decade.

    • ME says:

Of course she had to make fun of herself and her family, what else were the writers going to do? The jokes were good but Kim’s delivery was so stiff it was hard to watch for me. I only saw the first 30 minutes though. I mean the bar was set so low for her that by just showing up she already won. Her stans are saying it’s the “best SNL episode everrrr !!!”. God. It just shows you that Kim really is addicted to attention and fame. She has zero acting ability, zero charisma, and still did SNL.

      • Lightpurple says:

She made fun of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman. She also said she never met a Black person until she was 14-15 years old. Her delivery was wooden. She seems to have difficulty moving that oddly proportioned, fake body, and standing next to others who haven’t had massive amounts of plastic surgery highlighted how unnatural her face is.

      • ME says:

        @ Lightpurple

Oh yes, the monologue was horrible. I can’t believe her fans are saying it was great. Some of them even think Kim wrote the jokes. Well just standing next to people with actual talent makes you realize that Kim Kardashian should never have been famous or be on TV. I honestly wonder what she would have done with her life had she not been born pretty, butchered her body into a cartoon figure, and had huge family connections. She’d probably be some girl working at the mall (nothing wrong with that).

      • Jules says:

I watched a few skits and she was bad. Worse than Elon Musk, and he was one of the most awkward hosts I can remember. She was monotone and has no comedic timing. But I was mesmerized by her stiff face and moving mouth, so freaky! Also all of the extra guests that they had to pile on is pretty telling that SNL knew she couldn’t carry the show on her own.

  20. why? says:

The funniest thing about Kim hosting SNL was that hours after the show ended, Halsey(not Kim and her family) was trending on twitter. Under the SNL hashtag, the bots that Kris hired were singing Kim’s praises. There were little to no negative comments, another indication that Kris pays for positive press for her daughters. I was expecting Kris to break the internet with articles about how funny Kim was and how she was the best host that SNL has ever had.

  21. Barbie1 says:

Sorry to say John Cena and the rest of the guys looked so ordinary and unimpressive for some reason. Kim did a good job for someone who is not an actress. The show was funnier than usual.

  22. SKF says:

I’ve seen most of her skits (that are available online) and… she was great! Not a fan, she’s not an actor, comedian or a natural performer; but she killed it. Why? Because she was game for everything and anything and she was happy to roast herself and her family. Yes, she was clearly nervous and she was a bit wooden; but she clearly worked hard and opened herself up to do whatever they suggested and comedy works well when there’s a straight man anyway. The fact that she’s so well known meant that the writers had fertile ground and the jokes were the best they’ve been in AGES. I’m seeing reviewers posting that she breathed life back into SNL. Good for her! I wasn’t expecting this.
