George Clooney & Elisabetta take London for ‘The Fantastic Mr. Fox’

George Clooney took out his girlfriend/piece Elisabetta Canalis last night in London. The red carpet appearance was for The Fantastic Mr. Fox, an animated kids’ film. Guess who plays Mr. Fox? That’s right, Gorgeous George himself. Guess who plays Mrs. Fox? Meryl “Oh My God, I Love You” Streep! How cool is that? Alas, Meryl was not at the London premiere (nor was most of this really great cast of voice talent). Dang! Instead, we’re treated to George and his Budget Cindy Crawford, Elisabetta. Before we get to George’s piece (Elisabetta), I have a question about what I think is his other “piece”. His hairpiece, that is. It looks like a toupee, doesn’t it? CB says that it’s not, that she’s sure he has his real hair. But that thing still looks like a weird piece of fur.

I know it pisses off some people when I refer to Elisabetta as George’s piece, or maybe make a joke about how she’s a working girl, so I’ll give you something – her makeup and hair are flawless, and this is the “softest” I’ve seen her look. I’m just saying, her features can come off as a little “hard”. But from the neck up on this red carpet, she looks great. The dress, not so much. I’m trying to figure out the fabrics used on this bad boy. My guess is that the front is made of silk, and the back is some kind of treated (and yet still too-stiff) leather. I’m thinking “leather” because you know that’s how George likes it. And you know George could really care less that I (and many others) think she’s got a whiff of working girl to her.

Before George walked the red carpet with his beck-and-call girl, he, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman and director Wes Anderson all participated in the press conference in London. Of course Clooney got some questions about romance, marriage and babies. George is a champ at deflecting, though:

Believe it or not, perpetual bachelor George Clooney sees lots of children in his future.

They’re just not his own.

“I’m going to adopt some of Brad Pitt’s kids. I owe him a few,” he joked at Wednesday’s press conference in London for his new flick Fantastic Mr. Fox, based on Roald Dahl’s book and set to open in the U.S. Nov. 25.

The notorious ladies’ man, 48, mostly recently spotted on the arm of Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis, says he feels like he’s skipped from the dad stage straight to granddad status.

He says this seems especially so considering the fact that in the stop-motion animated Fantastic Mr. Fox he voices the role of the father to the character played by 29-year-old Jason Schwartzman (who recently married clothing designer Brady Cunningham).

“Just having Jason here next to me makes me feel like a father,” he quipped. “He just got married, so I feel like a grandfather. I’m jumping right into it. I will bring lots of kids to the red carpet.”

[From People]

If Clooney wasn’t so busy making jokes, I’m sure Brad would want to bring the older kids to the film. It is, after all, a kid’s film. But kids are not Clooney’s bag, baby. Not unless they’re his date. And no, I’m taking about Polanski sh-t, I’m just saying Clooney’s big leap this year was dating a girl over the age of 29. Who likes leather. Just sayin’.

Her bone structure is so much stronger than his. Next to her, he looks a little shrunken.

  3. Rosanna says:

Beautiful beautiful beautiful woman! I’ve always liked her… at least her taste in men has definitely improved (after Vieri and Guccino YUCK!)

  4. happymom says:

She looks pretty tough. I’m guessing she’ll be around for a while.

  5. bros says:

ick. she just does not do it for me. and that dress is a trainwreck. she is masculine enough already, so the biker chic pleather enhances that and looks cheap to boot.

  6. Diwali6 says:

Yup, that dress is seriously fugly! It looks like polyester and vinyl. The shoes dont suit it either. Meh, they are both overrated. Nothing special.

  7. BitterBetty says:

Grandpa George needs some nose hair landscaping.

  8. PJ says:

It is his real hair — you can see it in closeup shots. The Daily Mail has a piece on how the bags under his eyes have disappeared.

George is looking good and so is his new girlfriend! Her body is perfect.
She’s much classier than previous girlfriends. I thought the dress was a knockout, and it looked great on her. It must have cost a fortune.

  9. Fire says:

i wish wish wish you would stop using the word “piece” to describe a human being. it’s degrading!!!

  10. man says:

    She is slightly manly…

  11. princess pea says:

Manly? In the, um, Cindy Crawford kind of manly way?

I don’t see it. I wouldn’t complain if I was that kind of “manly” anyway.

  12. thedomesticgoddess says:

What is it about when we see a lovely woman on the arm of anyone famous? From what I’ve read, she is a star in her own right in her own country. So big deal she isn’t one in North America! Jeez. They look happy together. Leave it at that!

  13. BitterBetty says:

I think it’s about George being gay and making prepubescent waitresses his beards.

  14. Heavenbound says:

Can someone please fill me in on this story that has been circulating about George and Matt Damon being gay? This is not the first time I have heard it. There has to be some truth to it, if the rumor does not go away. Maybe he is bisexual? Please someone fill me in!
    Thanks.

Gee, I wonder how long this one will last? I guess he’s happy dating a new girl every two minutes.

  16. lisa says:

Hey George’s friends are all in serious relationships. He may be thinking it is time to settle down. NOT marriage… just stop the woman/woman thing. George ain’t no spring chicken.

OT a bit.. I hate that dress. It just looks so dollar store. With George’s money she could do so much better.

  17. Goddess711 says:

Anybody read the uk telegraph article about George getting his eyes debagged? He looks a lot better.

  18. Canalis is as nasty as Larson says:

Look at the difference in her photos. This chick is photoshopped like crazy. She looks like a tranny. By the way, no one here mentioned how obvious it is that these two are fighting like mad in these photos.
