Actress Joey King got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, producer Steven Piet. Joey’s been acting since she was six but a lot of people know her from The Kissing Booth. Her career went meteoric when she starred in The Act as Gypsy Rose Blanchard. I know her, however, from Life in Pieces. She was only in three episodes but she was a riot. Point is – she’s adorable. She and Patricia Arquette, her mom in The Act, were so fun together during the Awards Season. Steven and Joey actually met on The Act, and they began dating in September 2019. Two and a half years later, when Joey was 22, Steven asked her to marry him on 2/22/22, which was a Twosday (sorry, but it was a whole ‘two’ thing). I can only hope he popped the question at 2:22. Joey posted the pics above with the following caption:

That’s really very sweet. And a pretty good descriptor of what joy from love feels like. The ring, which is showcased in the second photo, is from Mociun. It’s yellow gold with an oval diamond and baguettes set on one side. The retail estimate is $20,000 – $30,000. It’s a unique design and I really like it. Because of the smaller attached band, it doesn’t really need an additional wedding band, but one would also fit well opposite it.
Steven posted a set of photos on his Instagram with the following caption:

Again, very sweet. Steven is 30, so the age difference isn’t too big. Joey was with Jacob Elordi for about a year until they broke up in 2018. I will always see 22 as young to get married but she’s probably a lot more mature than I ever was, so she knows much better than I do if she’s ready to get married at 22. And they have been together for a few years.
I do love the numbers part of it, though. I always geek out with number sequences. I know it’s lame, but Princess Beatrice has always been my lowkey favorite royal because her birthday is 8/8/88 and she was born at 8:18 in the morning, at least in one time zone. I would have loved something significant to have happened on 2/22/22 around Castle Hecate but alas, it went without fanfare. Not for Joey and Steven. They will never forget the day they got engaged. I mean, they can’t. I wonder if they’ll work twos into other things now, like their wedding or their kids’ or pets’ names. Anyway, congrats to the happy couple. May they always be happy two-gether (*hangs head* I’m so sorry).

Though, I am sorry to be critical but 22 seems so young!! I had wished my daughter and her beau would have been married on 2/22/2022, but alas, no. But that’s fine as they are in Oregon now on vacaction!
Side note but damn, did Jacob Elordi get around (and he’s so young too, I just looked it up). Why does it feel like every actress/models and their sister got with him for a period of time?

For him I hope he’s not dating Olivia because what a down grade from the likes of Joey and Zendaya who both seem really smart and fun.
I like her but I hated the kissing booth. In the movie a guy assaults her (grabs her butt/pulls down her skirt off in front of the whole school) and then she laughs and she goes on a date with him because she is flattered by the attention ???
There’s also a scene where Jacob Elordii’s character violently stops her from leaving.
She later became a producer on the series and I…would have been embarrassed to do so?
Oh well! You live you learn, I hope this is a healthy relationship, I also wish teens had better examples of healthy relationships in the movies and shows of their time.
True. The whole premise is problematic to begin with. I have watched a ton of Netflix teen rom coms with my daughter and this one ranks very low on my list.
I’m pretty sure the Zendaya relationship was all PR. Their body language in pictures showed zero chemistry.
Glad I’m not the only numbers geek!!! My husband and I were supposed to get married (in a very small, vaxxed-only ceremony) on 2.21.21. I was so bummed to have to change it. But that was the middle of the vaccine rollout, and it was not easy to find a shot back then! We pushed it back two months and that gave me time to help people get vaccinated.
We still celebrate 2.21 anyway 🤷♀️

A small thing but I find it strange that for a post with 7 photos (including the 5 in the IG deck), I get two clear shots of the no-name groom and none of the star who headlines the post. I had to go to another site that make sure I was thinking of the right actress because I can’t see her face clearly in any of these.
I find the age difference a little gross. From what I’ve read, they got together when she was 19/20 and he was 28/29. Single dudes out there, it’s ok to date women who weren’t teenagers two minutes ago…
Yep I was side eyeing that gap too. Not huge but maturity and life experience wise it’s a canyon. Maybe a little less so since she’s a child actress. Idk. Wish them well.
