Nick Hogan is “haunted” by his time in prison

Remember when Paris Hilton got out of jail after 30 days for her DUI sentence, she swore she was going to be a better person and volunteer and go to Africa and stuff? But none of that’s happened. Nick Hogan said similar after his time in jail – but he’s claiming he already is a better person. Jail made him a better person. That’s pretty impressive, and makes me think we should send more celebrities to jail to make them be better people. Now Nick hasn’t actually done anything that makes the rest of us believe he’s a good guy in any way. But a lot of people think just describing yourself as good is the same as being good.

Anyhoo, Nick says that while jail made him a little angel, it was also (surprisingly) horrible. And it still “haunts” him. Dramatic things like hearing a gate close can give him “the willies.” And everyone there was just really cold to him. Can you imagine guards and fellow inmates didn’t smile warmly whenever Nick passed in front of them, and didn’t wrap him in cuddly blankets and embrace him whenever he was feeling down? Rough stuff.

Nick Hogan is still “haunted” by prison. The “Hogan Knows Best” star – who spent almost six months of an eight month sentence in jail last year for causing a car crash in 2007 – says he is still affected by his time inside Pinellas County Jail in Florida.

He said: “There are moments that haunt me to this day.

“There are times when I’ll be watching a prison movie and hear the sound of a gate slamming, and I get the willies. It was horrible.” The 19-year-old TV star added being away from his family was the hardest part of prison, but that htey [sic] helped him through his ordeal.
He explained: “Time away from my family was the most difficult part of my sentence. One of the things which makes you feel comforted is talking to a family member. But you don’t have a phone – you have to wait until it’s your time of the day to call. You miss being able to connect with people because everyone there is just cold, just brutal.”

Nick insists his sentence – which also saw his driving license suspended for three years, and him put on five years’ probation and ordered to carry out 500 hours of community service – has changed him for the better. He added to Life and Style magazine: “Jail was definitely one of the worst experiences, but it was also one of the best things that ever happened to me – just because of how much it changed me.”

Alright I’m out of snide comments. Not because anything Nick said changed my mind about him or I think he’s an okay guy or anything. I firmly believe he sucks as a human being, and will continue to suck for the rest of his days. But I’m sure that I’ve leveled every bitter, mocking comment that can be put together using the English language at Nick. I hope he eventually comes to see just how horrible his actions were when he nearly killed his friend in that horrendous accident two years ago. His family has made so many excuses that I doubt it will happen, but it’d be nice. Other than that… maybe it’s good he’s haunted by something. Knowing there are consequences for your actions that stay with you for a long time is probably good for him.

I’M HAUNTED BY THAT VIDEO OF THAT POOR SOLDIER WITH HALF HIS SKULL MISSING THAT THIS CREEP IS RESPONSIBLE FOR.

  2. HS says:

    waaaah, waaaaah, f’in waaaah.
    Let me get my kleenex.

  3. Victoria says:

Oh come on! He hardly spend any time in prison! He spent about as much time there as P Hilton did! PUH LEEZ!

  4. Trey says:

Wow, audrey, that pretty much sums it up. Glad somebody else posted it before I did

  5. Samantha says:

This guy totally kills his “best friend” (I know he’s not actually dead but practically) and he is whining about his MINIMAL amount of jail time for it? OMG…This guy… I was secretly hoping of maybe a “whiskey lullably” moment with him, but apparently he really is that self centered that he ONLY thinks about himself. I bet he was more upset about his car being totalled. Totally disgusting human being, he is truly one of the worst people on the planet.

  6. DoMaJoReMc says:

    @ audrey….
My thoughts were written in your post. Practically word for word.

Let the haunting begin with John Graziano haunting Nick (Hogan)Bollea, for the rest of his life.

  7. WTF?!? says:

He’s a useless bit of human flesh. What a pig.

  8. Lantana says:

This is a question I’m throwing out there and not a judgment on comments — but is there anything that Nick Hogan could do to redeem himself? Is his only hope to just go away and maybe no one will remember him? I tried to put myself in his position, and it seems life-crushing. Why go on? So, if I were him and didn’t want to be viewed as dog-shit on the boot-sole of every walking soldier, what could I do? I’m not him and I’m not in that position, and I hate when I put myself in these “what if” scenarios, because there’s just never a clear-cut answer.

  9. Lauren says:

Here is the update on John Graziano…I guess he’s headed home from the hospital and he’s concious!

  10. Jeri says:

He doesn’t even mention his former buddy who’s life he destroyed. I hope this isn’t the beginning of press for his own realty show like Daddy promised.

  11. Jillian says:

Boo hoo, Nick. Boo freakin’ hoo.

  12. audrey says:

@ Latana… I don’t know what I would do if I were in this loser’s designer shoes, but I know what I would NOT be doing. And that is I would not be crying about my joke of a jail sentence, courting the paparazzi with a wave and a smile and talking to the press about a couple rotten weeks of my life w/o referencing his friend whose life I destroyed ..
I take that back. I can think of something I’d do if I were him, and that’s volunteer at a VA hospital and lay low. I think that would be a place to start.
I have ZERO sympathy for this worm.

  13. RedEyeJedi says:

Wow, he’s really a disgusting, non caring person if he thinks he had it bad. Did that soldiers family ever sue him for the accident? If they haven’t, then I think they should.

  14. Popcorny says:

This little scumbard needs to be haunted by what he DID.

  15. original kate says:

audrey took the words out of my mouth! nick is a horrible excuse for a human, and i’m sure he hasn’t changed. as soon as he can he’ll be driving again and racing or drunk driving. he seems to thinks he’s above it all.

  16. Puppybrite says:

I agree with audrey, I bet if he stopped being so smug, volunteered all his time, money and energy into helping wounded veterans and speaking to young boys about the dangers of auto racing and spending time helping care for his friend and his family, I think maybe, maybe he would not be a complete waste of flesh.

  17. buenavissta says:

Talk about haunting…I just clicked on Audrey’s link. I wish Nick had to watch that video every day of his life.

  18. gg says:

    @ Lauren – He’s not exactly conscious.

John Graziano’s latest reported status is he stares into space, and the mom thinks maybe he can see her when she talks to him, and maybe not. He grunts and spasms sometimes but they are not in response to questions. He’s in an upright coma, in a way. It’s very very sad. I would never wish that on anyone and would insist somebody put me out of my misery if I were in his shoes.

  19. Ron says:

And here I thought the lack of lube was the worst thing about prison. You’re a tough one Nicky.

  20. Guest says:

    what about your injured friend??

  21. Sasha says:

There you have it: Life and Style magazine. That tells you all you need to know about that rag.

You know what is truly ‘cold and brutal’? That damn article, with no mention at all of John Graziano. And don’t forget that Nick and Hulk blamed the accident on John’s ‘bad karma’. Let’s not ever forget that.

  22. Lantana says:

@ audrey and others who agreed: Thank you for your replies. I agree with you, and I find it self-troubling that I don’t come up with those kind of ideas. I’m 46 years old and expect judgment to come rather naturally; but unfortunately I’m not solidly opinionated, which is why I am open to listen to others. If I were famous and in a moral dilemma, then god knows I’d suck at redeeming myself. My best chance would be hope that there’s not really a hell (that part’s tongue-in-cheek )

  23. Novaraen says:

    Audrey said it perfectly.

  24. Firestarter says:

Can’t say anything better than what Audrey already said!

  25. MDD says:

I’m haunted by the images of his injured friend in the hospital, with his head bashed in.

  26. Jag says:

Totally agree with audrey, and I’ll add that I hope Nick’s haunted until the end of his days. He ought to be saying daily how grateful he is to not be haunted by being conscious in a body that won’t respond in any discernable way. No one knows if his friend is in an upright coma, or completely aware and just unable to communicate through his broken body. Nick is such a disgusting slime that I don’t even like reading about him enough to bash him anymore.

  27. Vermithrax says:

Great replies. It’s all been said.
Massive toolbaggery going on with this guy.

  28. SolitaryAngel says:

It’s things like this that make me certain there IS no God–it should have been Nick the Vegetable, not Johnny G. And gg, that’s exactly what I’ve wondered–why does his family not let him rest? He is not alive; hasn’t been alive since the night of that accident. I would think that, being a soldier who offered up his life for Americans’ freedom, he would not want his family hanging onto to a dream and a breathing collection of organs with no more John inside. He’s gone–donate his organs and let him go; my son, who is leaving soon for the military, said he wants the same thing. It’s quality of life you have to measure, not just the presence of a heartbeat. I hate Nick Hogan like I’ve never hated anyone before.
    **end of rant, sorry**

  29. Jano says:

did not even read it all I can say to the header is

    GOOD!!

  30. Lita says:

    **unpopular viewpoint alert**

Don’t worry, not going to say Nick Hogan is anything other than eloquently described already. My ‘but’ comes in at didn’t the friend choose to be invovled in the same douchbag driving? Not that I am an avid follower (shudder) but I don’t rem anyone saying “.. and JG was never into fast wanky driving and was begging to be let out” – did I miss something? Obviously nobody deserves what has happened to him but I imagine since they were bosom pals that JG was totally into it too. Not the driver, granted, but party to the outing. NickH was well known for his penis extension (fast flashy car) fixation, so I imagine the friend was too. So unlucky – absolutely, with horrific lifelong ramifications for family as well, awful story. Unless I am missing something though it isn’t quite like “innocent all american soldier steps off the footpath and gets mown down by hooligan driver.”

  31. knotstu says:

Yes …. Getting constipated doesn’t help either!!!

  32. Firestarter says:

@Well Lita, the difference is….Nick was driving, John wasn’t.

Also, how do we know the dude didn’t want to get out when the driving got dangerous? We don’t.

Nick Hogan had gotten numerous tickets prior to this accident for speeding and careless and imprudent driving. I have not read where John was in the same shape ticket wise.

The bottom line is, Nick should have known better. He chose to drive in a manner which was against the law and caused an accident that resulted in the serious injury of another human being. The law states that is a crime, and for that crime you serve time in jail. Had he hit and hurt someone else in another car to the extent that he did his friend, would people still think it was the fault of the other person. Nick Hogan drove like a moron and the punishment he got he deserved, actually, he got less than what he deserved. While his friend has no quality of life left whatsoever, Nick served a few months, not years in jail, and gets to resume his spoiled brat entitled life as if nothing ever happened. Who gives a f*** if he has nightmares of jail? What did he go through that was so horrific to his delicate psyche? Not get to hang out at ritzy hot spots? Dress like a little rich douche bag? Drive around in his fancy cars? Hang out with stupid girls? What happened to him that doesn’t happen to any other person serving time in jail? Actually, he had it better than most people who serve time in jail.

So I for one, do not care how he feels or what trauma he is suffering. It doesn’t compare to the suffering of his friend and his friends family, who the Hogan’s have been absolutely despicable to since this whole thing happened!

  33. GatsbyGal says:

So he’s haunted by jail time, and not, say, paralyzing and brain-damaging his friend? What a fucking worthless human being he is. No wonder Hulk Hogan said he once wanted to kill himself. If I was responsible for bringing Nick Hogan into the world, I’d flirt with the idea of eating a gun too.

  34. Lita says:

@Firestarter – agreed, couldn’t give a toss about Nick Hogan’s *suffering* at all. He looks and sounds like a stupid waste of air, the sort of person that gives humanity a bad name. And he appears to have little compassion, which is grotesque. I think he got off lightly and wasn’t defending him at all (shudder at the thought). So hopefully that is credentials down – NO NickH apologist/defending going on here.

What I meant was that you hang out with people that are friends and are generally like you and have similar interests. Given we know NH is big on the fast dangerous driving it is not a stretch for me to believe that the good friend with him was having fun until the accident. And that then it becomes a little more an example of being party to something that went horribly wrong. That is the impression I got from reading (only on gossip sites) about the accident at the time. Two friends out together, one driving and clearly at fault – but the other wittingly along for the ride. The driver is responsible but there is a difference – legally and morally – if someone chose to take part in risky behaviours. In this case getting in a car that was being driven recklessly for fun. As NH appaently always did.

There was an accident where I live a few years ago that I had a vague connection to the people involved , which gives a reasonable parallel – 7 kids out at a party decided to go somewhere. Not enough seats, two girls hopped into the boot. There was an accident and the girls died. The driver is responsible for what happened – as drivers we all know that. But the girls did choose themselves to be there, they weren’t forced or anything. And the sentencing took that into account. A horrible event for all concerned.

This is where I was coming from with my post. Not saying that NH wasn’t responsible, but that – as far as I know, and I think we would have heard if it were otherwise – JG was a party to the thing that caused the accident.

  35. Spoonman55 says:

Anyone feeling sorry for him should watch this video of what happened to his friend in the crash.

He is a disgrace and a poor example of a human. He gets the whilies when he hears a door close-please. He should be apologizing constantly for what he did to his friend.

Warning this is graphic and heartbreaking- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzaKxO9snIA

  36. gonzo says:

OH PLEASE!!!! it wasn’t even really prison…it was COUNTY JAIL, which is nothing. suck it, NH

  37. fizXgirl314 says:

what’s a boot? or did you mean hood?

  38. paranel says:

You would think he would be haunted by destroying a young man’s life ( his passenger in the car ).
