I wonder how the people of Florida would react if Disney suddenly blocked access to Disney+/Hulu from all but Orlando-based Florida IP addresses.

    *** Spoiler ***

“We’re getting her a taxi to the subway back to her little apartment.” <– nominee for the most savage line in history.

    • Haus of Cats says:

I did a double take when she said that line. Like, dayum, Marcia! So cold, lol

      • zazzoo says:

My takeaway is that I’ll never inherit $billion (unless my husband is holding out in a big way) but I can work on my savage responses right now. 😉

      So cold
      So brutal
      So fabulous

And why did Kerry so desperately need to go upstairs?

I’m not a Dax fan, but since when is a sleeve on anyone so alarming?

That tux is fantastic. The best Chris.

    • Anners says:

Forever the best Chris. I have enjoyed all his facial hair iterations, but clean-shaven laser-eyed Chris is mesmerizing!

    • H says:

I had heart palpitations when I saw Chris in that tux. Best Chris forever!

  5. Erin says:

Of course the party of “save the children” screaming about all trans people being groomers are rolling back child labor laws. I mean kids need disposable income to spend in this capitalistic hell hole too right?!?!?! The children yearn for the mines!

    • BeanieBean says:

And tobacco fields! 12year-olds love working in tobacco fields!

    • The Recluse says:

It is horrific what the Pro-Life Party is doing to children and to everyone they dislike. Once you’re born, they don’t care unless you can be exploited for $$$.

      • NJGR says:

And don’t forget, it’s fine if a 12yo girl marries a grown man – but god forbid she should expect free lunches at school.

  6. ClaireB says:

Living in Florida with DeSantis as governor is terrifying. He’s “pro-business”, unless the business disagrees with him, and then he’s full on authoritarian. Disney went through all the legal requirements to defang the new governing board, but Ron thinks he can just wave his magic wand and make it all go away?

  7. NJGR says:

I wonder if Chris Pine has a sister, and if she also looks that good in a tux…sigh…

That story/link on Dlisted about the 22 week pregnant mom (who had a 2 and 5 year old on the flight with her) who had to *gasp* clean up her child’s popcorn mess made me so mad.

I’ve luckily never had to work food service but I absolutely try to clean up as much as possible when my 6 year old and I go out to eat or something- it’s called BEING KIND. It’s been a hot minute since mine was 2 years old but I feel like he could have picked up some popcorn that HE SPILLED in the aisle? And if you’re such a high risk pregnancy that you can’t even clean up your OWN CHILD’S MESS, why are you even flying? Maybe it’s just a later in pregnancy thing? Idk, we didn’t fly anywhere so I’m not 100% sure on that one but still. It just did not sit well with me. Hire a nanny or a maid to go on trips with you if you can’t clean up after your kid.

I love how Rihanna’s darling son is always happy and smiling. He knows he has two amazing parents!

  10. Sass says:

Every time I see some shit about child labor I do my best to assure my kids that we do not expect them to earn a living while we are raising them. I know this is a privilege in this country which is disgusting to me, every child should have a CHILDHOOD.

That said, we have taken steps to get them CPR/first aid certified, and they are the neighborhood babysitters (helps that mom runs an in home childcare so they know how to care for little ones). They are also volunteers at the library and we want to sign them up for lifeguard camp. These might not be lifelong careers for them but if they want to make money as high schoolers it’s good for them to get training and a foot in the door so it’s easier to get hired working fairly decent hours at decent wages doing jobs that aren’t backbreaking soul crushing work when they’re barely able to drive.

  11. Ange says:

In Aus back in the day it was legal for kids to start working at 14 years and nine months, so that’s what I did. There are, however, patchwork rules around the country that specify how many hours you can do and what times you can work to etc. Even then, I’m tired! I’ve been working non-stop now for 28 years and I still have another 25 to go. I wish I had been able to wait a bit and enjoy a few more years free of the responsibility.

Kids should be allowed to be kids and not sent out to work the second they’re old enough. Its extra disgusting when the work they’re being pushed towards puts them directly in the path of danger. I’m pretty skeptical that a state allowing this is super strict on workplace health and safety, or that a workplace who would use kids in this way gives any sort of crap about it either.
