Halsey and boyfriend Alev Aydin split, it’s ‘amicable… they’re planning to co-parent’

Halsey and her boyfriend, producer Alev Aydin, have broken up. There was speculation about this a few months ago, but the couple’s split was confirmed by Halsey’s filing of documents to determine child custody earlier this month. Halsey and Alev share a nearly 2-year-old son, Ender. Halsey has asked for full physical custody with visitation for Alev, joint legal custody, and for costs and litigation fees to be equally split. According to a source (probably Halsey’s), the breakup is amicable and they’re planning to co-parent.

Halsey and Alev Aydin are going their separate ways.

“It’s an amicable split,” a source says of the pop star, 28, and the screenwriter, who welcomed a son, Ender Ridley Aydin, in July 2021. “They’re planning to co-parent.”

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Halsey filed a petition to determine the parental relationship on April 5. She has asked the court for full physical custody of their 21-month-old son and requests that “reasonable visitation” be awarded to her former partner.

The Grammy-nominated artist is also asking for the court to award joint legal custody and for fees of costs and litigation to be split between both parties.

The pair were first linked when they were spotted together at a Los Angeles Lakers game in 2019.

The singer last shared an image of Aydin in an Instagram post on Valentine’s Day writing alongside the post, “❤️ ya’aburnee ❤️.”

While often keeping the relationship private, the musician raved about Aydin in an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe in August 2021.

“I love my partner, our relationship is so full of love and passion and communication,” they said. “I remember having that moment when I was probably five or six weeks pregnant and being like, so what happens now? Do I have to be boring?”

They commented on how their relationship began while replying to a fan on Twitter who asked about a biopic about the singer that was rumored to be in the works: “bc alev was supposed to be writing it the past 3 years and we slowly fell in love instead. you know the rest!”

[From People]

In fall 2022, there were rumors on Deux Moi that Halsey and Alev had broken up and Halsey was on Raya. But then there were lovey-dovey birthday and Valentine’s Day posts, so maybe they had some trouble and worked through it before really calling it off. This is a bummer because it seemed like a good and stable relationship for Halsey after that G-Eazy drama. But I also think Halsey kind of likes drama. Halsey is selling her home, after buying it from Liam Payne in January 2021, for nearly $12 million. It is quite a spread! Even if Halsey owns it solo, it makes sense to want to move at the end of relationship. I wouldn’t want to leave that house, but I don’t have access to the house options Halsey does. What Halsey is asking for in terms of custody sounds pretty standard for a young child. But Deux Moi just shared a tip about the breakup from earlier this month. According to the tipster, Halsey is living in a rental and is having some personal struggles that led to the breakup and the legal stuff might not be so smooth. But hopefully that’s just typical grain-of-salt Deux Moi stuff and things are fine for all involved, especially little Ender.

I wouldn’t say full physical custody to one parent is all that standard at this point, I’m a little curious about that.

    • Ameerah M says:

It is actually. Because she’s also asking for joint legal custody. All that means is that the child physically resides with her but that they have equal legal custody

It’s always sad when there’s a small child involved… well, hopefully everything works out for both of them. On a side note, not trying to be snarky but I had no idea Halsey had THAT kind of money. I mean, yeah she’s successful but does she have the royalties to keep up with just the property taxes and upkeep on that kind of house?!!

    • Ana170 says:

At least the HOA fees are only $50/month.

It does seem like she might have overspent for that house. It’s so unnecessarily large for 2-3 people too.

Halsey’s makeup brand has totally blown up. I think she’s making MONEY money, but if she isn’t now she probably will be soon. It’s being sold at Ulta now.

I don’t know much about Halsey’s music, but I was happy to hear about the birth of their son after being told parenthood would be a difficult journey. For the sake of their young one, I’m glad to hear the split is amicable and the two plan to harmoniously co-parent.

…but as a messy hoe who loves drama, I am so tired of the “the split was amicable and they still remain friends” line. Just ONCE I would like to hear a couple split up and be very vocally like “No, F- them. There’s no way we’re staying friends after all this!” before spilling all kinds of glorious, new tea on said person. But, as I said, I love drama.

Kelly Clarkson’s split was exactly like that. She even made a christmas song about cancelling her ex and recently in her show she performed a cover of Gayle’s ABCDFU song but changed the lyrics to diss her ex and his father.

They have a small child. So I hope that it truly is amicable and not full of drama. I don’t need or want drama when children are involved.

I’ve always liked Halsey and her music. Sad to hear she and her boyfriend broke up. Hope all works out with co-parenting, keeping it amicable, like Demi and Bruce.
