Margot Robbie wore Dilara Findikoglu for her final ‘Barbie’ event pre-SAG-strike

Here are the final (?) photos from the Barbie promotional tour – after the big Barbie premiere in London last night, most of the cast changed clothes and did a kind of chaotic photocall and fan-event at the same venue in Leicester Square. This could be the final event of the promotional tour because as of this morning, SAG-AFTRA is on strike and that means SAG union-members cannot take part in press junkets or film premieres. They cannot do anything like San Diego Comic Con or partake in any film festival either, it seems. And of course they can’t film anything.

So, if this is the last look we’re getting of Margot Robbie’s Barbie looks, she went out with a bang. Margot wore a Dilara Findikoglu minidress which looks like a vintage Versace. The dress was a custom piece made to evoke the 1962 Brunette Bubble Cut Barbie, who wore a red swimsuit. Amazing. And a little big sad, because you know Margot and her stylist had more of these Barbie homage-looks planned. Also: Issa Rae wore PatBO.

So, no more premieres, no more interviews, no more junkets from the Barbenheimer crew. I hope that everything coming to a halt changes things and the studios begin to understand that they’re screwed if they don’t make substantial changes.

The hem on that dress is bananas. Did someone’s mom just staple it up 5 mins before she walked out on the carpet?

(Remember when your mom would quickly tuck the cuff of your jeans up on your way to school?)

    I LOVE Issa Rae’s dress.

I just want to give Margot a round of applause for sheparding this project from start to finish. She and her team 1000% committed to bringing it to life and promoting it. A brilliant job all around. They all must be exhausted.

    • Eurydice says:

Yes, kudos – she (and they) have done an incredible job!!

      • BothSidesNow says:

@ Snuffles, Margo does deserve applause for her tireless promotional tour for Barbie!!

Margo, America and Issa Rae have ALL looked stunning and have all brought promoting Barbie into the stratosphere!!!

Issa Rae looks absolutely stunning in her dress but let’s face it, she is utterly stunning with whatever she wears!! Issa has a beauty that transcends into all of her choices but she has been a stand out in this promotion tour!!

I’m a huge fan of Insecure and Issa Rae. She’s so talented in addition to being breathtakingly beautiful.

    • Roo says:

Same here, Snuffles. I appreciate all her hard work and will see this in theaters instead of waiting for streaming.

  3. Libra says:

Styled after a 1962 red swimsuit, thus the short hem.

    • Libra says:

Meant as a reply to @sarah

    • sarah says:

I don’t object to the shortness — it’s Barbie after all! But it looks really badly sewn.

      • BeanieBean says:

They made it a little too short considering it’s riding up a bit on her hips. She needed a moment to smooth it down a bit, but I expect every step left or right it rode up again.
On another note, I had the brunette bubble cut Barbie. I thought she looked like my mom, who had a similar hairstyle!

man margot robbie is so gorgeous. legs for DAYS. would make a paper bag look great.

    • Smart&Messy says:

and yet, she rarely wows on red carpets for some reason. However, on this Barbie tour she is absolutely hitting it out of the park! This look is no exception, I love it and you can see she loves it too.

      • Ange says:

She should now she’s got rid of her previous stylist. That woman had a long list of fashion crimes she’d committed against the women in Hollywood.

  5. HeyKay says:

I give Margo a lot of credit on this movie.
She is doing Tom Cruise levels of promo. Good for her.
I like her, she is a worker bee! Go get ’em and keep your foot on the gas.
Is she an Ex Producer on Barbie too?
I hope so and I really hope she has a back end profit margin bonus built into Barbie, she deserves all kinds of profit on this.
I’d love to see her become a real power player in Hollywood!
    Team Margo 💕

Btw, I always thought Sandy Bullock would become a Producer, not sure if she is?
Reese and Eva L are sure doing fine as Producers, good for them. More Females making interesting, fun movies. Eva L. Produced John Wick! Thanks Eva 💕

I love it and she looks fantastic.

  7. NJGR says:

This is my least favorite of Margot’s barbie looks. Issa hit it perfectly however.
And America looks impossibly sexy and perfect.

    • Blairski says:

Issa’s dress is perfection. I did not have “enjoying the hell out of a Barbie promo campaign” on my 2023 Bingo card, but here we are. Kudos to Margot and her stylist, but everyone in the cast has been doing the most with this theme. Truly impressed.

      • ama1977 says:

I have truly loved every minute of it!! I especially love this pic, where they all seem to compliment each other in color, cut, and overall presentation. Everyone looks fantastic (except Greta Gerwig who I never think looks good and who I also don’t like because of her willing partnership with/enabling of Noah Baumbach, who is a heel.)

Back to nice things, Issa’s dress is FIRE and I really love to see the guys getting the assignment! The Kens are making the Barbies look amazing, which is their job. Seriously, the men look fantastic, too. A+ all around (except GG for me.)

  8. LOLA says:

Love love love love love all the styling and fashion choices for Margot Robbie for the barbie film press. Unbelievably good and so joy bringing!

  9. Jais says:

Isssa! Bringing it. She’s stunning. Everyone looks really good here. Definitely sad to not see more of the planned Barbie looks. Maybe Margot and her phenomenal stylist can do some pics with them and release after the strike is over.

    • Abby says:

Same! I want the strike to be successful, and I also want to see the rest of her outfits. I hope both Barbie and Oppenheimer do well and I hope the strike doesn’t affect the hard work of the writers/actors/crew.

    • Toast Panda says:

All of them look really good, except personally not loving Gerwig who looks like she’s going to a disco lite choir rehearsal.

  10. tealily says:

    Issa looks fab here!

  11. lucy2 says:

Everyone looks great here, especially Issa.
A friend saw the trailer yesterday and now wants to see this with me. I’m going to plan a group trip with some other friends!

  12. Peanut Butter says:

If only all movie promotional tours were this fun to watch!
