Timothee Chalamet wore Tom Ford & a Cartier necklace to the ‘Wonka’ premiere

For some reason, I thought Wonka’s release date got pushed back during the SAG strike, but I guess I confused Wonka with Dune 2, which is kind of hilarious of me. Both films star Timothee Chalamet but they could not be more different. Even funnier, Wonka is apparently a musical? They’ve really tried to hush that up, which is also hysterical to me. “Shh, we don’t want people to know that the actors are singing!!” Anyway, here are some photos of last night’s London premiere. Apparently, Kylie Jenner flew in to London to support Timmy, but Kylie did not walk the red carpet. I bet she partied with her boyfriend after the premiere though.

As for Timothee’s look… this man really got his t-ts out at the Wonka premiere, god bless him. I genuinely enjoy that Timmy loves fashion and enjoys mixing it up, so the Tom Ford suit is spectacular. Great color, velvet in winter is always a great choice, and his hair looks amazing. He probably should have worn a shirt under his jacket though. Or even a sweater? The necklace is a custom piece by Cartier and it’s lovely.

Olivia Colman came out – this is where I realize that she’s in the film too – and she looked interesting. Fabulous black gown, but that blonde hair is doing nothing for her. Hugh Grant was also there, and he plays an Oompa Loompa.

All in all, this could be the biggest disaster of the Christmas movie season. That being said, the early reviews out of the London premiere are pretty good – people are saying it’s sweet, touching, even magical. Yeah, we’ll see.

He loves that necklace! He has been wearing it a lot. He had it on with the lavender leather outfit, but it was just barely visible.

  2. girl_ninja says:

That suit is perfection and the necklace is gorgeous. He looks great. I like the idea of the cape on Olivia but I think that the overall look would be better without it.

  3. Coco says:

The reactions are not just from the London premiere. They come from critics and journalists who had already seen the movie in various test screenings conducted in recent weeks, and the embargo was lifted yesterday. I just wanted to clarify that. He looks amazing, btw.

  4. LeahTheFrench says:

Mmh…This would have been better with a shirt. Great color on him, though, and the necklace works well with this suit. Not sure about the shoes – is it me or his feet seem…very long?

  5. Faith says:

He looks good. I don’t like the shoes with the outfit though. Maybe a lighter brown would work?! Olivia looks great. I like the length of her hair but the blonde does not work. I’d much rather a darker color. Hugh looks good.

She’s never experimented much with her hair before so I’m going to take a wild guess that this is a “don’t look at what’s different about my face” hair change.

Broadchurch (so good! She’s amazing in it!!!) was ten years ago and her jawline looks much tighter than it did back then.

Anyway, she’s a brilliant actress who deserves all the flowers and she looks fantastic.

      • Bettyrose says:

It’s common for British actresses to be successful on merit rather than glamour. She’s amazing in Broadchurch but neither she nor David Tennant were yet global household names. Olivia is now an Oscar winning Hollywood star, so a little tweak is to be expected.

  6. Kristen from MA says:

I’ve seen comments at various sites that ask why Anna Wintour is so “obsessed” with Chalamet. This is why, people.

  7. Normades says:

I love love love the suit but his hairless pale naked chest is deeply unsexy to me:

I am happy he’s doing the shirtless thing — I feel like it’s subverting the overt sexuality that is expected of women. For example, kristen stewart would absolutely wear this whole outfit, but with the short shorts that were on the runway model, and nobody would think anything of it except “oh nice.” For chalamet to do it is a choice, because men don’t usually get their boobs out for the red carpet. Even if we don’t find it sexy, I think it’s a useful reminder that when men are held to the standards that women are held to, we are forced to think about those standards.

  8. Margot says:

Love the suit on him! Needs a shirt or something underneath and I would have chosen different shoes or boots.

  9. Twin Falls says:

    He’s so visually charming.

I wasn’t going to see this movie but Olivia Colman you say? Okay, now I might.

  10. K says:

Willy Wonka has always given me nightmare fits. TC is stunning he needs to be Lord Byron in a few years.

  11. Fabiola says:

They need to stop remaking movies and come up with original ideas

  12. Glamarazzi says:

Wasn’t Wonka originally a musical? The one with Gene Wilder I mean – it had many songs. I wonder if they’ll be reusing any of those or have they written entirely original songs? It’ll be hard to beat the original Oompa Loompa song.

I love both Timothy & Olivia’s outfits – they both look incredibly chic.

    • Bumblebee says:

Yes! Every time one of those naughty kids got in trouble the Oompa Lompas would break out in song. Lecturing them in harmony while off to punishment with the protesting parental.

  13. Sasha says:

Suit and shoes both perfect! Everyone saying this look needs a shirt is missing the point. Slay Timmy!

  14. P says:

Whew I had a flashback to Daniel Craig’s pink jacket at a Bond premier and had to go see if this was the same suit! This is a great shade, TC looks great, but no, I will not be paying any currency to see this movie lol

  15. Bettyrose says:

I love seeing him rock fashion but has he had even more cosmetic surgery? His face is more angular than ever.

  16. JaneS says:

The blond washes out OC. TC looks great. Hugh G is looking pretty good.
I’ve seen the trailers for Wonka.
Not going to see it in theaters but when it comes to streaming, I’m sure the kids will watch it.

For decades now, HW expects every new release to make huge, huge profits. So quick to call any release under $100M a flop.
    How about just good entertainment.

  17. Trex says:

He’s just stunning and Tom Ford (who’s also stunning) adores him. I love the styling here.

  18. dlc says:

I love the point about Timothy getting his boobs out like women are expected to. Kind of subverse! Love the suit and his face is unreal! Byron would be a great role! As for Olympia, I thought she looked much younger and more attractive wearing that dress with that hair. Then I read about the hair being a distraction frim getting work done and went oh, maybe that’s it! if it makes her happy good for her! She is a fantastic actress.Loved her in the favorite

    • bettyrose says:

Yeah, he’d be a good Byron. I think he’s beautiful and a solid actor. I’m not judging him any differently than an actress, but I was late to the party with Homeland and *shocked* that he doesn’t have those high check bones in his younger roles. Now I just assume he has the same doctor many of his leading ladies do.

  19. Abby says:

I absolutely love this outfit on Timothee. He looks great. I am not attracted to him at all (he makes me feel maternal) but I think he’s beautiful. Side note, I was at the eye dr. today and the nurse doing some of my tests reminded me so much of Timothee. He looked so young, no older than 25 I thought. I resisted saying anything about it (I am 39), and he told me he’d been working there 3 months. His mom works there. He was super nice. When I checked out at the end I saw his high school graduation announcement on the wall. Class of 2023. So he IS a young bebe. hahahah.

I saw the preview while watching Wish this weekend, and maybe it’s because the volume on the previews was SO SO LOUD, but the trailer did not make me want to see the movie. But if it’s getting good reviews maybe I’ll reconsider? I did not expect to see Hugh Grant in there though so that is fun.
