Prince William cooks breakfast for homeless youths

This week’s Hello! Magazine is all over Prince William. Which is nice, I guess, but I’m on Team Harry, but I’ll make do with some Wills news. First up: William, Harry and Kate Middleton all attended the London premiere of Sherlock Holmes last week. A “royal source” tells Hello: “William in particular enjoyed the film.” Sidenote: when a Hello reporter asked Jude Law about his rekindled romance with Sienna Miller, Jude replied, “The only person I’m in love with at the moment is on my left.” And then he and Robert Downey Jr. began making sweet love. Seriously!

Next up! Prince William and Harry led a “star-studded tribute to the armed forces”. Everyone says they were lovely, and while there, Harry told some random dude that he was pretty much in love with Cheryl Cole, that judge girl on The X Factor (which is like Britain‘s American Idol, right?). I’ve seen photos of Cheryl, and she’s pretty, but I really don’t get what the big deal is about her. She’s certainly not good enough for Harry! *Sniff*

Anyway, the big cover story is about Prince William going to Centrepoint, a homeless shelter for young people, and cooking a huge meal for them. That’s where these photos of William are from – and dear God, William is starting to look like his uncle Andrew (the Duke of York) isn’t he? Anyway, the visit was actually really cool – I’m impressed that William knows his way around a kitchen, and that he would take some out of his schedule to do something charitable and from the heart. Plus, I love stories about food. According to Hello, William wore an apron and hairnet, and he fried eggs, sausages, bacon and some tomatoes. He told the kids that they should stick to fried eggs, because he’s not good at scrambled… which isn’t so impressive. Scrambled eggs are easy! William also told the kids that when he and Harry lived together for their RAF training, they would compete to see who could make the fastest and best fried egg.

William was there as part of Centrepoint’s 40th anniversary, and it’s an organization his mother introduced him to. William told Hello that he preferred making breakfast, rather than dressing up in a tux: “A day like today is very important for me. These types of events are much more fulfilling to me than dressing up in a suit. I get a lot out of an event like this, spending quality time with Centrepoint people. For some people, Christmas is a very difficult time and Centrepoint offers sterling support. I am very proud to be here and to be Centrepoint’s patron and inspired by some of the stories I’ve heard today.”

William also told the kids that he hadn’t even started his Christmas shopping, but that the sold, snowy English Christmases are his favorite. Everyone remarked about how down to earth William is, which he very well may be. But no one is going to leave him alone until he figures out what he’s going to do about Kate Middleton, for the love of God!

Wow William used to be very very cute but now not so much….

  2. JohnnieR says:

I think Wills should just go for it and shave his head completely – I think he’d look a lot better.

And is it just me, or is he resembling Prince Edward more and more as time goes by?

  3. GatsbyGal says:

D’aww little Harry is so cute, he looks like a Weasley.

  4. YeaRight! says:

Well it could be worse, he could grow to look like his father, Prince Charles….

I see a lot of Diana in him….

This man will some day be King of England. Charles will never live to be King. Queen Elizabeth will outlive Charles, passing the monarchy to Wills.

  5. BrownEyedGuy says:

What a cad. Losing his hair too lol.

  6. Codzilla says:

JohnnieR: I totally agree about the hair. Time to say goodbye, William, it’s gone and it ain’t coming back.

  7. Sumodo says:

I am so glad that they are starting to do work that their mother would have done. I can sooooo see Diana, if she were alive today, cooking breakfast for kids at a shelter. And, hugging them, and bringing cheer. I miss her, but it’s good to see her sons trying a little.

  8. LolaBella says:

His smile in the header pic is so reminiscent of his mother’s when she was carefree and happy, it’s uncanny.

I think Will is very handsome (even with the vanishing hair), but my heart belongs to Harry!

    Team Prince Hot Ginge!

@GatsbyGal: ITA Harry does look like a Weasley! LOL.

  9. Feebee says:

    His hair isn’t that bad.

It’s good to see them getting involved in the charity causes their mother introduced them to. He needs to do more to get the focus on that rather than his personal life.

  10. PJ says:

William’s hair used to be really nice and thick. It looked great. Too bad he didn’t go for implants! But I guess that’s not the royal style.

  11. Jojo says:

Is the hair loss more proof that these brothers did not come from the same father???

  12. benny says:

The people in his family do not age well. Queen Elizabeth was quite a looker in her youth (as was Margaret). Even Andrew was handsome before becoming old, fat, and bald. They just don’t age well.

  13. benny says:

The propensity for baldness is passed through the mother.

But I agree Harry doesn’t look like a full brother.

  14. Goddess711 says:

Hey, that would make his mum proud!
I can’t believe how horrible fugly the Windsors turn.

  15. Cristi says:

he also spent the night outside with thew homeless.

  16. yae says:

Take a toothpick William and jimmy ONE diamond off your grandmothers tiara.

That will feed the whole room for years.

  17. Kathie says:

Well regarding Harry, he may be the only Windsor in history to grow older gorgeous but we will have to see wont we? I cannot help but think what a joy these guys must be to their family. They are far from perfect but do very well considering the trauma and drama that goes on with every word and deed of their lives. Diana and Charles both did very well (each in their own way) in the raising of them.

  18. Goddess711 says:

Harry’s not genetically a Windsor, that’s why he has a standing chance of not inheriting The Curse. http://www.flickr.com/photos/violentz/1279821152/ “The noses say it all”….and a heckuva lot more as Harry gets older.
Wish Princess Di were still around.
