Nick Cannon on how he keeps the spark in his relationship with Mariah

Mariah Carey In Concert At Madison Square Garden

Nick Cannon has a brief video interview on People’s website in which he talks about how he keeps the romance alive in his nearly two year marriage to Mariah Carey. It’s kind of cute and you can tell that he adores Mariah. These two get a lot of flack for the way that Nick seems to be at Mariah’s beck and call, but he seems to be more than happy with his role in the relationship. He told People that he loves to give Mariah notes and flowers and that they have a lot of fun together. He also seemed in awe of her celebrity and said “there’s no one more famous than Mariah.”

I think my wife is the most famous woman in the world. If you want to contest that, help me out. I don’t know anyone that’s known from eight to eighty. I’ve yet to meet someone more famous than Mariah Carey.

How do we keep the sparks flying? Lots of kerosene. [laughs] At the end of the day we’re two silly lovebirds that love to have fun. Hopeless romantics. I’m always writing cards, sending letters and flowers. That’s what love is about.

We like to live out the fairy tale romantic comedy type of story… We’re a romantic comedy with a very happy ending.

That’s sickly sweet but nice at the same time. Of course life with Mariah would be a fairy tale with a lot of high priced accessories and kowtowing. She’s a huge diva and she wants things just so. Nick seems to put his wife on a pedestal and she’s probably thrilled with that. I give them two more years, but I never would have predicted they would have lasted this long either.

Ha. More than sweetness and love, what I have read in his words is: “she’s unusually demanding and likes me to praise her and remind her how great she is, because she doesn’t have enough with her lackeys and hangers on kissing her feet. I do so because that’s why she’s paying me for… er, I mean, that’s why she married a little, impressionable kid”.

I’m happy for Mariah, because she has bought the husband of her dreams. Now, if she could buy taste, class, a voice coach and someone to write her songs (she obviously can’t do it, and has never been able to do so), everything would be perfect.

By the way, Spanx ought to pay her for product placement publicity. She is always wearing their products!

He keeps the spark by doing everything she says. Maybe that works for them. Now go fetch Mariah’s coat Nick, there’s a good boy.

They look happy. Good for them….nice to read about happy people.

I think it’s great! And I’d LOVE to have a husband like Nick too. Very sweet!

  5. We’re a romantic comedy with a very happy ending. —> Oh-kay.

I hate to say this but, although he sounds sweet, he also sounds totally p-whipped. I’ve been marred for 17 years and I can tell you that at less than 2 years, they are still on their honeymoon and keeping the spark alive is very easy.

I gave it six months when they got married, and I was wrong. They’ve kind of grown on me, they look really happy, seem to be happy, and so I hope it works out for them. Happy endings are nice, for a change.

  8. Tee says:

They have the perfect relationship…they both worship her…LOL

You know he’s seriously whipped but he also seems to be in awe of this “diva” so he’s not going anywhere…until she tells him to!

  9. Jeane says:

Well I hope it works out for her.

I used to be a big fan of hers when I was 10 or something. I had all her albums on cassette tape and would listen to them all day and night…
Then I grew up and wanted to listen to alternative rock music like all the cool kids were doing, and she started all that honey glitter butterfly crap, so I kinda lost interest.
But she will always have a special place in my heart… I still listen to her christmas album every year (on tape of course).

I have always said that even if she was a nail tech living in a trailer she would be married to a man that holds her purse while she shops. She is just the high-maintenance type and he is the type of guy who, for some reason, loves being subservient! You just never know what works for folks…

i was sure he was going to say booze!

Mariah is the most famous woman on earth?

oh gawd, I need a shot of vodka and a place to weep in the fetal position awaiting the end……
