Angeline Jolie has been in New York this week to promote Pablo Larrain’s Maria at the NY Film Festival. The film won’t stream on Netflix until December, so I feel like we’re getting the bigger promotional rollout in a few months. But for now, Angelina is fine with chatting about the movie and even dropping some information into People Magazine, especially about her recent FOIA withdrawal on the FBI’s records. Some highlights:
Angelina Jolie is grateful to have her kids as her “biggest supporters.”
Just a few days after the actress, 49, dropped her legal case against the Department of Justice and FBI over documents connected to the alleged 2016 plane incident involving ex Brad Pitt, a family source tells PEOPLE that Jolie is focused on moving forward with their six children — Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
“In the past few years, she’s been able to create a life for herself and the kids that make them all happy. It was a struggle for a while, but Angie is proud about how resilient and strong the kids are,” says the insider.
“They are her biggest supporters too,” adds the source. “The kids are all amazing.”
“Being stuck in the past is not anything that Angie wants. She’s actively moving beyond the past. She wants to focus on her family, work and the future,” the insider also shares. “These are all things that make her happy.”

Under the anonymous “Jane Doe,” Jolie had requested in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) in 2022 that FBI documents about the incident be released to her. Court documents obtained by PEOPLE indicate the Maria star dropped the case on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
A chunk of People’s coverage reiterates what Jolie found in the partial records released by the FBI, including Jolie’s own statements about the 2016 plane incident, statements which she made to the FBI. I don’t think Jolie dropped the FOIA request because she’s suddenly forward-looking and/or conciliatory. I think she dropped it because she got most of what she wanted, and she will hopefully use the records as the divorce is finalized and, more importantly, as she countersues Brad Pitt over the Miraval situation, since her sale of her half of Miraval is directly tied to the abuse on the plane.

Totally random observation: I’ve noticed in the NYFF photos that it appears Angelina is in the process of removing her new bird chest tattoo, & has now acquired a Swallow on her upper arm instead? Same tattoo, yet a different & more meaningful spot. Very cool!
I noticed the new bird on her upper arm, and noticed the heart bird looked faded in these pics, too. Getting it removed so soon? Gotta be painful. Maybe it was a temp or she put makeup on it for the premiere, to fade it out for some reason?

I noticed that on Box Office Mojo the movie doesn’t even show that it came out on limited release on the weekend of September 20th. If you search the name on the site there is no box office info. I didn’t know studios could hide box office results.
