President Biden: The only garbage I see floating out there is Trump’s supporters

In September 2016, in the middle of the election, Hillary Clinton called Donald Trump’s supporters “a basket of deplorables.” The MAGAts screamed and cried about it for months and tried to use it as a rallying cry, all while they were calling Latin-Americans rapists and criminals, and on and on. It’s just one more thing Hillary was right about – Trump’s supporters are some of the worst people in the world. They’re all in on a mush-brained authoritarian fascist and adjudicated rapist who wants to punish all American women by taking away their voting rights, their reproductive rights, their personhood, their citizenship. A few days ago, Donald Trump organized a festival of hate, a neo-Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden, in which racist jokes about watermelons and “Puerto Rico = a floating island of garbage” flew around. Well, President Joe Biden is the latest Democrat to call out Trump supporters for being the f–king worst people ever:

The significant quote: “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters…His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American. It’s totally contrary to everything we’ve done, everything we’ve been.” I agree and I’m glad Biden said it. Still, Biden and his people instantly knew that the thin-skinned losers of the MAGA cult would sob into their soiled cots about it, so he quickly clarified in a tweet:

This hasn’t stopped the MAGA cult from throwing a performative national tantrum. Meanwhile, Trump (their orange god) literally calls America a “garbage can” in his stump speech. One of my favorite pieces of thin-skinned commentary is from Trump’s running mate, who has spent years demonizing “childless cat ladies” and said outright that childless women shouldn’t be allowed to vote. On Monday, Vance also said “But we have to stop getting so offended at every little thing in the United States of America. I’m so over it.” But that was about Trump’s Nazi rally, in which a speaker called Puerto Rico a “a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean.”

I hope everyone responds to Vance’s tweet with his quote about getting offended about every little thing.

  2. Miranda says:

Trump has spent FUCKING MONTHS waxing poetic about siccing the military on his domestic opponents. GTFO with this fake outrage horseshit.

    • lucy2 says:

He literally called anyone not voting for him the enemy within, and all I’ve heard from his running mate is that I’m useless and evil and can’t care about anything because I don’t have children.

    • pottymouth pup says:

and, yet, the media is making a huge stink about this and how it will hurt Harris’ chances

      • Miranda says:

I think the media WANT it to be a problem for Kamala, but I don’t think it will be. If Biden had said this like, a couple of months ago, maybe? But we’re less than a week out from Election Day, and I don’t think that there are any minds left to be changed. Harris supporters are voting for her because we know very well what’s at stake and we’re not going to be shifted by something so trivial as a deliberately misinterpreted soundbite from a POTUS who is famous, even beloved, for his “gaffes”/accidental honesty.

It’s not even what he fully said if you look at the transcript. He was using a singular so everyone knew he was talking about the reporter. I was so sick of the Beltway media running with this crap again. And then saying that Biden should step down.

  4. Dee(2) says:

Well he didn’t call them garbage ( though he should have) just that their rhetoric is and that’s also true. JD Vance needs to be quiet because he literally said that he’s tired of people being so sensitive on Monday after the rally. The difference between now and the basket of deplorables remark, is that we’ve had eight years to see people behave deplorably. If you’re upset that someone views you as a garbage human being, because you support the literal fascist, are okay with women dying due to not having access to preventative health care, are perfectly okay with demonizing children, are okay with describing the Homeland of US citizens as a floating island in the trash, okay with describing the vice president as the antichrist, are okay with the country you lived in being described as the garbage can, okay with supporting a felon, an adjudicated rapist, someone who admires Hitler, and too many other things I can’t remember from just this summer spare me the false outrage. People who are a-ok with the above are trash, stop trying to pretend it’s just a difference of ideals. This isn’t conservative versus liberal.

  5. Hypocrisy says:

He speaks the absolute truth! The only trash are MAGA cult members, starting with their leader.

  6. So trump and his minions are only ones allowed to say mean things 24/7 but when Joe responds to that particular garbage statement and turns it on them this should end Kamala’s campaign? What a load of malarkey. It’s true what they say that trump can be lawless but everyone else must be flawless.

The coddling of the maga bums is at levels I have never seen. After 2016 the press gave them the excuse of economic anxiety even though President Obama left us with a robust and bustling economy. They did interview after interview with these people and listen with bated breath to their complaints.

I don’t remember any such interviews being done when President Handsome was elected. Why didn’t they talk to those of us where disgusted with DT and his degenerate and incompetent leadership? Why? Because they cater to white racist who worship a hateful dolt.

PJB is right about those cultists, and I hope he stands by it.

    • Sid says:

Amen Girl_Ninja. At this point after everything we have seen and heard, if anyone can still vote for Trump then I don’t care if their feelings are hurt. We are in a freaking existential crisis as a country because of such people.

      • girl_ninja says:

Exactly. I don’t care. They continue to vote in favor of white supremacy at the detriment of the country.

    • Becks1 says:

RIGHT?? Remember all the think pieces and endlessly dissecting of the Trump voter? Remember how JD Vance used that to make himself a household name? (well relatively)? Yes I know Hillbilly Elegy came out before the election but that and Strangers in a Strange Land were sure treated like canon after Trump was elected.

    Where’s the lie

  9. Brassy Rebel says:

Actually, I agree with the clarification. If you look at what JB said in context, he was talking about the so-called comedian: supporter’s, not supporters. He’s been around long enough to know that whatever thoughts you have about them, you don’t call voters names. And everyone remembers how Hillary was damaged by the “deplorables” comment even though it was true. My own sister still thinks it cost HRC the election. I love Hillary but it didn’t help.

  10. Katya says:

They are selectively editing POTUS’ remark … as usual.

  11. molly says:

Sure looks like it. This is a problem for Harris regardless of how we feel.
