Megan Thee Stallion has been granted a five-year restraining order on Tory Lanez

Last month, Megan Thee Stallion went to court again, this time to file for a new restraining order against Tory Lanez and his family. Tory has been locked up for a year, but he and his family have not stopped waging a completely bonkers campaign against Megan. Megan has the receipts too – the family has paid off bloggers plus various friends and associates to spread defamatory lies about Megan. Megan had enough and she went to court. They gave her a five-year restraining order.

Megan Thee Stallion has been granted a five-year restraining order against incarcerated rapper Tory Lanez, with an expiration date of Jan. 9, 2030. Megan claims Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson) has been harassing her from behind bars as he serves a 10-year sentence stemming from a July 2020 incident where he shot at her feet. Judge Richard Bloom confirmed the order on Thursday, writing that Megan had “sustained burden of proof” to grant the motion.

Megan’s request for a restraining order described Lanez as a “violent and dangerous criminal” with an “established pattern of behavior [demonstrating] the reasons this civil harassment restraining order is necessary to protect Ms. Pete and her wellbeing.” Before this filing, Megan under an order that was only in effect from 2020 through 2023.

Megan’s request for a restraining order also accused Lanez of employing third-party “bloggers” to defame her while he is in prison. According to court reporter Meghann Cuniff, who was present in the Los Angeles courtroom during Thursday’s hearing, Megan testified via video call and described her as being in an emotional state. Cuniff said Megan was fearful of what could happen to her after Lanez’s release. Megan is quoted saying, “I feel like maybe he’ll shoot me again, and maybe this time I won’t make it.”

[From Variety]

Throughout this whole years-long ordeal, I’ve been so proud of Megan for standing up for herself and speaking out, in real time, about what’s being done to her. She’s incredibly brave, and she’s also been open about how much this has cost her emotionally and psychologically. This is not the end of Tory terrorizing her, but this restraining order is really important. I hope Megan and her lawyers do the most to ensure that Tory stays in prison for a long time.

Good for her. They should add some more years to his sentence!

  2. Vs says:

Good… something scary is how bloggers can accept money to spread lies! Hopefully that guy remained locked up for his entire sensitive! He and his family are unhinged

    • Noo says:

+1 @vs re bloggers there need to beore consequences. And yay for Megan although it sucks the big one that this is what a gun violence victim has had to do to protect herself. So wrong. Megan Thee Stallion you certainly live up to your name!

I can’t really say “good” knowing how many women with restraining orders against their aggressors still end up dead. Not trying to speak that into existence but just to make the point that Megan will likely never feel safe when this man is released from prison. Hopefully her security detail will do what a piece of paper does not.

I just cannot imagine the toll this has taken on her and I am astonished by how brave she’s been in facing her attacker. I’m not the praying type but I’m def putting protective energy out there for Megan because this guy is so dangerously obsessed with her and a 10 year jail sentence hasn’t taught him a goddamn thing.

@Kitten: Well said, and I agree. I am so incredibly sorry and angry that she’s going through this. This kind of physical and psychological harassment is just unbelievable, and it’s deeply unfair. She deserves peace and safety.

I really hope he gets deported once he finishes his sentence. He is a menace. I keep praying her and so many like her that have to go through this.

I am so proud of Megan for standing up for herself. We are seeing in real time how limited the protections in place for are women when a man is hell bent on terrorizing you. If Megan with her wealth and fame can be endangered like this I hope it gives the police and legal institutions insight into what women of more modest means have to endure.

    • Gloriana says:

+1 to this! I’m glad Megan has pressed this issue and made it public. He and his family are just fanatical about taking her down. It is so ugly.

hell hath no fury like a man with a delicate ego

The things some people will do just for a quick buck is just sad. Glad Megan is fighting back against that Leprechaun and getting the justice she deserves.
