Jennifer Lopez wore Defaïence at the AMAs & announced a new Vegas residency

Jennifer Lopez attended, hosted and opened the American Music Awards, and she was one of the few big-name celebrities there. Most artists skipped, and it is what it is. Personally, I think American culture has no further need for the AMAs, but I’m sure someone will argue that they’re still special or something. JLo opened the show with a medley of her hits, and at one point, she passionately kissed a male backup dancer and then a female backup dancer. What is this, 2002? Are we still supposed to be scandalized by any of this? Just FYI: on the carpet, she wore a Defaïence dress. The body is still tea!

Meanwhile, Jennifer is still recovering after her rotten 2024. Her marriage fell apart, and she took several professional hits too, including having to cancel her planned tour after low ticket sales. Well, Teflon JLo is bouncing back with a new Las Vegas residency.

Jennifer Lopez is returning to Las Vegas with her new residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Her show, entitled “Jennifer Lopez: Up All Night Live in Las Vegas,” opens the week of New Year’s Eve with four shows on Dec. 30, Dec. 31, Jan. 2 and Jan. 3. There will be an additional eight performances in March 2026.

Lopez, who returned to host the AMAs for the first time in a decade, shared the news via social media. She wrote, “We’re back! I’m doing a residency in Las Vegas! Join me for Up All Night Live In Las Vegas At The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.”

This marks the second time the Grammy-nominated artist landed a Las Vegas residency. Her first, entitled “Jennifer Lopez: All I Have,” ran for 120 shows from 2016 to 2018 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. The residency grossed over $100 million.

If you ask me, twelve concerts is not a “residency,” but sure. I’m glad she bounced back and I’m sure these shows will sell well, especially the ones around New Year’s. Caesars Palace probably had to write Jennifer a pretty huge check for this too. Good for her. Get paid!

Love the dress. Hate the color.

  2. Chaine says:

She looks great, although the color of the dress is blah and the ring at her waist makes her look weirdly lacking a navel. I can’t see people flocking to Vegas for her…. I guess if I was already going to be there I would consider seeing her show, but the ticket price would have to be right!

  3. Amy Bee says:

    JLo looks fabulous.

  4. Kitten says:

Love the dress and I actually love that caramel color on her. I know it’s not realistically attainable for us poors but she remains #goals for me.

  5. Truthiness says:

The Energizer bunny has nothing on JLo. She could be doing this 25 years from now and still look mostly the same.

  6. Bellah says:

Love the color and she looks great.
I’m genuinely amazed how celebrities don’t have all kinds of wardrobe malfunctions with these types of dresses. This looks like she’s one sneeze or snagged dress train away from disaster.

  7. JanetDR says:

I don’t like that color. I think because it’s all about the same, hair, skin tone, shoes, jewelry.
I picture it in teal and like it a lot better, but still, it is a bit circus performer?
She’s a beautiful woman who is magnificently fit but this dress makes me nervous!

Twelve concerts is a series, not a residency. My guess is the shows will be used as part of her awards campaign for “Kiss of the Spider Woman” that comes out later this year. I for one would not pay money to see her live. She is not a good singer. I remember a concert she did in Puerto Rico that aired on TV years ago. She lip synced the whole thing.
