Queen Camilla made a surprise appearance at Wimbledon for the quarterfinals

Wow, Queen Camilla has been surprisingly busy today. She and King Charles did a formal goodbye photocall with the Macrons at Windsor Castle this morning, then Camilla visited Buckingham Palace for a reception for the King’s Tour Artists exhibition. She was out of there in a flash, in time to make it to Wimbledon for today’s quarterfinal matches. She didn’t change her housedress! She just wore the same thing. Princess Anne does that too.

Camilla has been making a point to go to Wimbledon at least once every year since she became queen consort. She enjoys watching tennis, and she usually brings her sister to the matches. Today, she was (obviously) seated front row in the Royal Box on Centre Court. Hugh Grant and his wife Anna were seated just behind her! She made it in time to catch most of the women’s quarterfinal between Mirra Andreeva and Belinda Bencic. I’m assuming she’ll stay for the entirety of the men’s match on Centre – Novak Djokovic vs. Flavio Cobolli.

I’d also assume that her “duties” as hostess for the French state visit are over. Hell, the Prince of Wales is flying to Switzerland today to watch football. Cam was like “I need a break too.” I mean… if I’m being honest, if I had a permanent Royal Box invitation, I would be there every day. Cam also got a small receiving line at Wimbledon, and she briefly chatted with Billie Jean King and Novak Djokovic.

As cuts go, that dress is actually quite flattering on her. Much better than the formless coatdresses she’s always wearing.

Uh oh, Cam Cam is about to push Kate from her Wimbledon perch. Could she snatch away Lazy Katie’s patronage?

    Go Benny Shelton! 👊🏾

Ooooh, could be a BTS battle for the Wimbledon patronage 🍿

    • StillDouchesOfCambridge says:

      But Tennis is Kate’s like Africa’s willie’s!!

And with outing, it just proves to me that the bad press about kate being lazy and a diva about being hot outside not having AC is all cam’s scheming. This gurl is on double duty, not changing, out on a hot day under the sun without AC. Read the news tomorrow and see how she will be praised for being a hardworking mistress queen.

      Kinda surprised by this.

Queen Elizabeth II was not a Wimbledon mainstay.

Maybe it’s different when you’re Consort and not Regent.

      • Myself says:

Perhaps QEII just didn’t like tennis and Camilla does? I’d be there every day if I had the opportunity 🙂

      • Jegede says:

        Trust.

There are MANY things QEII didn’t like, but she did out of duty.

Including meeting certain leaders she detested….😉😉😉

Ugh. Billie, the honour is hers not yours.

It seems rather a dereliction of duty on Kate’s part as patron to not have made an appearance yet. Kate’s support only includes the presentation of trophies?

    • Blogger says:

      She’s still “learning.”

At least Wimbledon gets an annual visit from her…her other patronages are (un)lucky if they receive a visit from her once in a decade.

It still looks like a house coat. Such hard work by William and Camilla today

  6. Maxine Branch says:

That woman has bad posture and a bad body❤️

So Camilla makes an appearance. The king of Denmark has attended twice this year and yet the actual royal patron just can’t be arsed! This is the one time in the year where she could sit around and watch tennis to her heart’s content and no-one could criticise her. Yet, she chooses to sit around at home and do absolutely nothing to support the British youngsters in a sport which she loves.

Kate will be there for the women’s and men’s final.

      • Laura D says:

It’ll be 50/50 as to whether she appears for the women’s final but, yeah a dead cert for the men’s. I know friend’s who went to the ladies final last year were very disappointed that she (or any royal for that matter) didn’t turn up to award the shield to the winner. However, the point I was making is that as patron it would be encouraging to young Brits if she made a few appearances on the outside courts during the first week.

This just makes me miss the Duchess of Kent.😢
