As depressing as this is to admit, I don’t think I would have noticed how skinny Reese Witherspoon and Renee Zellweger looked last night if not for this Daily Mail article. Once it was pointed out, I do have to say – damn, these are some skinny girls. Looking at them makes me want a bucket of fried chicken. Anyway, Reese and Renee were at the opening of a Vera Wang boutique in Los Angeles last night, and they posed together for some photos, and now everyone is talking about how skinny they both are. Oh, and Evan Lysacek was there too. Because Wang designed his skating outfits. Anyway, back to Renee and Reese:
She’s rumoured to be filming a third Bridget Jones film later this year. But petite Renée Zellweger showed no sign of piling on the pounds as she posed for photographs at a Vogue party in Hollywood last night.
The 40-year-old actress dazzled in a burgundy corset and black pencil skirt – but fellow star Reese Witherspoon appeared even skinnier in a crushed purple silk mini-dress.
Both put on a friendly display and cosied up on the red carpet to have their photos taken at the dinner party, held in honour of fashion designer Vera Wang’s new store.
For her first two films as Helen Fielding’s diary-writing assistant, Renée piled two stone on to her tiny frame and then rapidly shed the pounds afterwards.
Her agent recently denied rumours the actress, who is dating fellow star Bradley Cooper, has refused to put on weight for the film, saying ‘Renee more than anyone would be true to the character’.
Meanwhile Reese looks to have got even skinnier in recent months, following her split from Brokeback Mountain star Jake Gyllenhaal two months ago.
Although her broken heart could well be on the mend as the Walk The Line actress has been spotted on several dates with dashing Hollywood agent Jim Toth.

Even though Reese is physically smaller in frame than Renee, Reese looks healthier to my eyes. Probably because I can’t count every bone in her top half. Here’s another question – why does Renee refuse to do her hair for red carpet events these days? Yes, her hair is short these days and it’s probably hard to do a lot with it, but still. This is the second event in two weeks where her bad hair ruins the ensemble.

I don’t think Renee is going to like it being said that Reese is skinnier. I think she takes pride in her skinniness. Renee needs to stop POSING SO HARD! It looks like it hurts.

Reese looks the same as always to me… stunning, of course, and not too skinny. Like you said, she’s just small-framed. Compare the two women’s arms alone and it’s clear that Renee’s body is unhealthy and Reese’s has life in it.
I really do admire Reese Witherspoon.

I respect them both as actors, but this endless posing by Renee, just makes me cringe and really takes attention away from her talent.

Renee looks AWFUL. Not just being so skinny, but her face as well. I don’t know what her problem is, but she needs to address it and get some help.
And looking at the two of them makes me want to FEED THEM a bucket of chicken, although Reese definitely looks healthier than Renee.
They both have terrible knees. Reese looks friendlier, she is also more tanned, so it helps looking less skinny. The picture of Renée with her arms in front of her is really terrible… hope she is followed for potential anemia problems and won’t end up like Brittany Murphy, because you can say what ever you want, this is not healthy nor normal or average to the regular population.

Renee should never pose next to someone so naturally beautiful and healthy. It ages her terribly. Sort of like looking at photos of Ivana & Ivanka Trump side-by-side.

Renee, however, looks like she is not a day over 47 and her face and shoulders almost made me spit up the stir-fry I just had for breakfast. Dying of anorexia is not going to make her any more relevant.
AND…isn’t she a little old to be so emotionally unstable that sh has to have an eating disorder. That’s such a teen/early 20’s thing to do. Hopefully, it’s just a severe drug problem.
I’m used to Renee looking scary, but Reese! Her body is ok, but her face does not look good. Being extremely skinny makes your face look old, it gives extra lines or something.
Renee is too old for how thin she is. A few more pounds would help her look younger, IMO. And her arms are gristly looking. Blech.

Frenchie, acually I read having a slight tan or darker skin can help give the illusion of being thinner. Its a tip when shopping for swimsuits, always spray on a fake bake then go try them on, you have more success that way. I think Reese being tanned makes her look a little younger and skinner.
I think Reese looks fine… Renee, however, looks like she’s on drugs. How wasted would you have to be to not notice you look so terrible? And why is she posing like that??
They look the same to me. I think that because Reese is younger, she still has “fat” around her body. If Reese continues like that, she will look just like Renee in the future. Renee has a different body type than Reese too.

I have always felt that Reese was somewhat overrated in the looks department. However, in these photos, she looks very, very pretty – and I agree, healthy. As for Renee, I do not think she is pretty in any sense of the word and her body is ridiculously bony – not appealing! Her legs are especially gross looking in these photos. I met someone once who met Renee a few years ago and he commented that he found her very unattractive to look at.
Reese is smaller boned, but Renee is skinnier. In a very. bad. way. She’s all bones and gristle – looks 5 years away from Madonna.
The sad thing is, I bet Renee looks at these photos and thinks, “OMG, you can see flesh under my chin! I’ve got to do something about that STAT!”.

I saw Renee a couple of months ago going into Pavilions at the crack of dawn. Presumably exercising since she had on her gear. She resembles a sculpted scarecrow. And she looks about 15 years older than her actual years. Something is wrong and it’s very sad. It’s more than anorexia, although that might be the byproduct. Something she sacrificed or traded to have this career isn’t paying off for her. Reese, well, she’s normal but overrated. If Renee gained some weight and a life, she’d be allright.
