Angelina Jolie ‘is prepping to sell’ her $24.5 million home in LA?

In 2016, Angelina Jolie removed her six children from the private plane when they landed in LA, and she never looked back. She did ask Brad Pitt if she could move her things and the children’s things out of his Los Feliz home, and he reportedly refused. Soon after filing for divorce, Angelina bought a two-acre estate in LA, also in the Los Feliz area. She settled there and worked on healing her family. It was also said that she needed to stay in LA from a legal perspective while the divorce was on-going and there were child-custody issues still being worked out. In the past few years, though, Angelina has been restless. She’s spent more time in New York, where she produced a Tony Award-winning musical. She seems to want to travel more, especially now that her two youngest, Vivienne and Knox, just turned 17 years old and will probably be graduating from high school in the next year. So… is it surprising that she’s looking to sell her LA home?

This Hollywood home could be ready for its latest close-up! Angelina Jolie is prepping to sell the estate of famed filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille, which she snapped up for $24.5 million in 2017, sources tell Page Six.

Sitting on 2-plus acres in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz, the house — where “The Ten Commandments” director lived for roughly 40 years, until his 1959 death — was built in 1913 and has six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms across more than 11,000 square feet of interior space. The estate also has four fireplaces, a vast wine cellar, a tea house, views of the Griffith Observatory, formal gardens and a pool with cascading fountains on either side.

Jolie reportedly spent the pandemic isolating there with her kids, and also housed friends there who were displaced by the area wildfires earlier this year.

She told British Vogue in 2021 of the location, “I wanted it to be close to their dad, who is only five minutes away.” She was referring, of course, to ex-husband Brad Pitt.

Reportedly, Brad has been based outside of LA for the past two years, although there’s different gossip about that too. He bought a place in Carmel, and I don’t think he’s spent a ton of time in LA in recent years. So much for “fighting for his kids,” huh? Anyway, I think Angelina probably will sell her LA home, but probably not before Vivi and Knox turn 18, right? Or does it not even matter legally at this point? And hey, maybe the twins want to move to New York too.

Incidentally, Brad Pitt’s mom Jane Pitt passed away last week. You-know-who’s crisis management team rushed to criticize Angelina for “keeping the kids away from their grandmother.” But there was a lot of reporting and gossip that Angelina stayed in touch with Brad’s parents and encouraged the kids to see them.

If I had the money I’d buy that house in heartbeat. I’ve always loved that house. Not many old Hollywood mansions left that still look Old Hollywood.

  2. Good for her. I suspect that we will now hear a poor Brad story that she is moving the kids away from him. He is a shit person and will have his PR team on this. Doesn’t matter that he doesn’t live close to the kids it will always be Angelina’s fault.

I fully believe once all the kids are done with high school, there will be no need for a home base, or “nest” lol. She’s a well known traveler who thrives in that kind of life and I think her kids do too. Once there is no legal custody tie to BP, she’s gone. And rightfully so.

Wait for the headlines, “Angelina sold her California house so now Brad Pitt has no way to form a relationship with his 40 year old twins.” Because that’ll be the reason of course.

That house sounds so amazing it would be hard to part with. But I get it. Even with all the traveling though, I think they’ll want some kind of a home base to come back to but it just might be somewhere else. Not LA.

I hope to see her house on AD open house

So he has continued to be estranged from his kids *even though* they have all lived five minutes away from each other? So much for blaming logistics. An even bigger pos than I always felt he was.

That’s a gorgeous house for sure but it’s huge. Even for a celebrity I can’t imagine wanting to keep up a place of that size when it’s mostly just one person with kids visiting on and off.

She mentioned in interviews that it isn’t her choice to live in LA and she would only stay as long as she was legally obliged to and would then move to Africa. Not sure if this is still the plan, but it definitely doesn’t come as a surprise that she will sell her house

I wondered about her ex husbands announcement of buying a house elsewhere. It makes perfect sense she’s gearing up to sell. I mean her place sounds perfect to nest, but if I had her resources I think I would just have pied e terres (I think that’s the phrase?) in my favorite cities/places of I didn’t want the upkeep involved with a tea house and two waterfalls.

That house is so gorgeous. I am sad that she is selling it. It would make a great homestead, gathering place. But I understand her wanting to travel and be out of LA. She is a great mom and bought the house after the plane incident and has taken great care of her children. I want her to be at peace and happy. Home is where your loved ones are.
