Prince Harry attended the WellChild Awards last night, and even though the left-behind Windsors tried to impose their psychotic soap opera narrative on Harry, he managed to side-step all of that completely. I’m fascinated by the fact that WellChild, seemingly with Harry’s approval, gave selected media access to the event. People Magazine, Hello Mag, the Times, Sky News and several other outlets sent their royal reporters to the WellChild Awards, and Harry even gave Hello an on-camera interview. He also made news for admitting what he and Meghan watch on Netflix:
Prince Harry gave a rare glimpse into life at home with Meghan Markle during his first of several outings in the U.K. this week. At the WellChild Awards in London on Monday, May 8, Harry, 40, chatted with 13-year-old Grace Tutt, a Special Recognition winner who uses a wheelchair following a bus crash. When Grace asked for Netflix recommendations, the Duke of Sussex revealed what he and Meghan, 44, who live in Montecito with their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, have been watching.
According to the prince, the couple has been tuning into the political thriller Hostage — and, surprisingly, the hit reality dating show Love Is Blind.
Meghan’s own Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, is now in its second season, and the couple recently extended their deal with the streaming platform to a multi-year, first-look arrangement.
LOVE IS BLIND? I know that’s a really popular show and all, but I consider it trash TV and I’m surprised that they watch it. Are they, like, watching The Bachelor as well? Damn. And I haven’t watched Hostage – I still haven’t watched Wednesday’s Season 2, but that was mostly because I was so focused on the US Open.
As for Harry’s Hello interview, he told the outlet: “I think once you become a parent yourself, everything changes. It’s emotional enough not being a parent and seeing what these families go through, but then when you have your own kids or when you’re expecting your own kids, that’s when it really hits you.”

I thoroughly enjoyed Love Is Blond season 1 & 2. It really pulls you in.
I haven’t watched since. I watched season 1 of the Bachelor from first season to last season. But the two shows are not the same.
The Sussexes! They’re just like us!
Reality tv is not my thing. I watched the first three seasons of The Real World on MTV which are quaint now in comparison. The music and editing on reality shows is overstimulating for me. I feel the same about most game shows, the cheesy music and the dramatic lights are not for me. Jeopardy is beloved and soothing to me though. However, my sister and her husband watch Love is Blind though. That is their fave show. It is very much their thing. I’m gonna check out hostage though.
@kaiser I’m surprised you don’t like trash tv considering you cover the RF. It’s so similar to me.
Tee-hee 🤭
@STEPH, lol. 🤐
I didn’t think I’d like love is blind until I was “forced” to listen to it while helping with my grandbabies. I fell in love with Cameron and Lauren!! Haven’t watched it since but I try harder not to look down my nose at those type shows now. I’m (was) a real world/flavor of love watcher anyway so who can I judge?
I’ve never seen it but I have friends who love that and the other one….love Island? Is that a show?
I just dont watch those types of shows at all. I think its the use of the word “reality” when they’re not reality obviously but I think if I just think of them as trashy escapism I may enjoy them.
I did have a day last year when I was home alone and started watching Vanderpump Rules. I got like 8 episodes in and was obsessed. then I turned it off and never went back to it, so my obsession was short lived lmao.
Incoming: WanK watch Shetland and Dept. Q curled up together in front of the TV. They’re not in separate rooms with Will watching footie and Kate binging WLM like you might have thought.
😆
Hostage is so good!
I watch Love is Blind with my teenage daughters. Great learning opportunities in that show.
Love is blind is good trash tv show, you don’t need think on anything. I used to dislike this kind of show, but I made an exception to this one, as I watch with my elderly mother.
