In 2023, Netflix released an excellent six-part docuseries on David Beckham, directed by Fisher Stevens. I really enjoyed the Beckham series and I learned a lot about Beckham’s football career, his life and his family. This year, the Beckham family has seemed less like a tight family unit and more like a chaotic, damaged and toxic mess. David and Victoria Beckham are openly beefing with their eldest child, Brooklyn, and Brooklyn’s wife Nicola Peltz. There’s been a huge soap-opera storyline in the tabloids yet again, like in the old days, only Victoria and David are coming across like the villains this time. So, it’s an interesting moment for Victoria to get her own Netflix docuseries. The three-part series is called simply Victoria Beckham. Here’s the Netflix announcement:
From the spotlight of global pop superstardom to the cutting-edge ateliers where high fashion takes shape, Victoria Beckham has always been more than meets the eye. Her journey from a determined young girl in England with her sights set on the world’s biggest stages to an international icon has been defined by ambition, reinvention, and an unwavering commitment to style.
On Oct. 9, the three-part docuseries Victoria Beckham, directed by Nadia Hallgren (Becoming) and from the makers of the Emmy Award–winning BECKHAM, offers an intimate look at her multifaceted life and career.
The series traces Beckham’s story from her formative years and rise to unprecedented success with the Spice Girls, through her high-profile relationship with football legend David Beckham, to her relentless work to establish herself in the cutthroat world of haute couture. Following her journey as she prepares for her most ambitious runway show yet at Paris Fashion Week, the docuseries weaves together past and present to reveal the challenges and triumphs that have defined her — and continue to drive her forward.
Featuring interviews with those closest to her, including her husband and leading figures in fashion, Victoria Beckham paints a rare, nuanced portrait of a woman who has continually reinvented herself in the public eye. Check back for more updates on the docuseries ahead of its Oct. 9 premiere.
I mean, I’ll watch it. Even if I find it slightly unnecessary – the 2023 series featured a lot of Victoria’s story too, and she gave some very confessional interviews as part of that series. But sure, she’s a stand-alone celebrity and I’m sure people will want the Spice Girls stories in particular. I wonder if this will be as confessional and personal as the other series? Hm.
Incidentally, the Beckhams have been making news this week for posting photos of their jam-making at their country home. This jam-making is being interpreted as a “dig” at the Duchess of Sussex AND Brooklyn Beckham. You see, Brooklyn was also posting some photos and videos of his jam-making last week. How are David and Victoria in their 50s and still playing these games? I genuinely wonder what Victoria will say (if anything) about these beefs in the series.

Looks like all the family beefing paid off, or is that too cynical?
Big pass on this circus.
Same.
Like this isn’t 2000whatever, when he came and played with LA Galaxy and everyone was inexplicably fascinated with them…unlike Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes trying to Befriend Them for Scientology I’m not thirsty anymore lol
Couldn’t care less about this middle-aged malnourished Bratz Doll
That’s a huge ass NO from me, dawg.
Bored already.
Nope
I’ll watch it. I will even set the Netflix reminder.
With regards to what is going on with David, Victoria Brooklyn and Nicola, the exact same thing has gone on with a million families and will go one with a million different families in the future. The only difference is, at the moment, the Daily Fail is not interested in anyone but David, Victoria, Brooklyn and Nicola with regards to family feuds.
I’ll watch it. Until this beef with her son and his wife, I never minded Victoria. But I’m not a fan of the storyline about her son being a hostage of his wife. That’s gross af to me. I think it’s hilarious that jam-making has become about making digs at people. Meghan said I’m making some jam to sell and people lost their minds. Now it’s like everything is coded in jam wars.
Huh. I think I’ll watch it. In Beckham, she just kind of appeared as a full fledged pop star – yes there was some background on her but not a lot (which was appropriate since David was the focus of the docuseries.) and I thought that docuseries was really well done – obviously pro David Beckham but still interesting with some of the people they had on it.
so yeah I’ll watch this and see how it is, especially if its only three episodes.
Hard pass. I’d rather watch paint dry.
