Mail: Prince Andrew should be exiled to America, Switzerland or Abu Dhabi

When Spain’s King Juan Carlos abdicated, he moved to the Middle East for several years. I think he still maintains a home (or a hotel suite) in Abu Dhabi, but he’s able to visit Spain. This is the kind of arrangement that’s been discussed for Prince Andrew as well – that if he was ever kicked out of Royal Lodge, he would move permanently to Abu Dhabi or Dubai or another Emirate state. Is that the endgame? Well, the Mail’s Christopher Wilson is openly advocating for it, just in the most medieval language possible. It’s 2025, can Andrew actually be sent into exile? And why is Wilson even bringing up the Duke and Duchess of Sussex?

Just when you thought Prince Andrew’s reputation could fall no further, another raft of allegations emerge that take it even further into the gutter. He has already been forced to give up his dukedom and Knight of the Garter title but now it is becoming increasingly clear that his days at the Royal Lodge at Windsor, a splendid 30-room mansion a corgi-walk from the King’s home at Windsor Castle, could well be numbered.

There is talk of him being despatched to the Castle of Mey, a 16th century pile almost 700 miles from Windsor on the very northern tip of Scotland. But I think it is very unlikely that he would agree to give up the comforts of the Royal Lodge for the most northerly inhabited castle in the country. I also find it hard to believe that Charles would offer it: he has just planted a maze there and considers it his personal property.

The truth is there’s a long and dishonourable tradition of sending disgraced royals into exile and, as Prince Andrew’s troubles mount, it’s time to banish him abroad. Perhaps the most obvious destination would be the US. But there, he and Fergie would have to share the atmosphere with Harry and Meghan and could find themselves the subject of invidious comparisons.

Harry may have disgraced himself via the indiscretions in his autobiography, Spare, but compared to Andrew, whose charge sheet is not only much longer but also a great deal more sordid, he is a leading member of polite society. Meanwhile, Meghan has stolen Fergie’s clothes as the lovable wayward princess. She’s younger, slimmer and makes for nicer pictures – plus Fergie might find her sources of income strictly limited since the death of her paymaster, the billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, and the end of lucrative deals with the likes of Weight Watchers.

Perhaps when considering their options for moving on they should look to Andrew’s ancestors for tips. Queen Caroline, who was effectively exiled for six years after a breakdown in her marriage to King George IV, took to riding donkeys in the Middle East. That might appeal to Andrew, who conveniently has a royal palace on permanent standby in Abu Dhabi, courtesy the ruling house of Nahyan. But Fergie might find the Arab attitude towards women stifling and, while the temperature there is permanently above 80 degrees, the shopping’s not so hot.

A more likely choice would be Switzerland, Fergie’s spiritual home, where the couple once had a charming chalet in Verbier. They sold it in 2022 but only after years of legal squabbles over money. Indeed, the Mountbatten-Windsors, as we must learn to call them following the humiliating loss of Andrew’s titles, always seem to be short of cash. So they might find it difficult to stump up the many millions it takes to buy, staff and run a Swiss chalet.

The answer might be to sell the lease on their current home, the Royal Lodge, back to King Charles. He would no doubt would be delighted to give them a fair price just to see the back of them. Certainly, exile abroad is the best option for Andrew and Fergie right now. The Epstein scandal is far from over – and another disaster looms ahead.

[From The Daily Mail]

Wilson was so eager to compare the Sussexes to the Yorks that he forgot to mention the biggest reason why Andrew will never travel to America again, much less live here: Andrew is still technically wanted for questioning over his associations to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. While it’s now Trump’s FBI and Trump’s DOJ, it’s very likely that American authorities would find it much easier to scapegoat Andrew for everything Trump has done too. But if exile happens, I agree, it will be to Abu Dhabi or Switzerland.

The f b i would pounce if he came to america.

😂🤣 You don’t know America very well then. Our government is all about zero accountability or consequences for pedophiIes. Look who we have in charge. Ghislaine Maxwell is in the equivalent of a prison country club. She’ll probably be pardoned. They also provide her with private security there.

If a democratic majority takes over…things change

      • Tessa says:

I lived in American all my life. the government changes direction–people are voted out of office . This can’t last forever. I doubt Andrew would want to go to America to begin with He had to be hidden out when the FBI wanted to “speak to him.” That interview did him in. Maybe Switzerland would be “safer”.

    • Hypocrisy says:

Truthfully surprised the 🍊 hasn’t offered him a room in the WH tbh, but we don’t need him here we have enough pedos and rapists that are not prosecuted as it is. Don’t they still have towers or dungeons in England lock him in one of those.

      • Tessa says:

I think Andrew may have flashbacks when the FBI wanted to question him. He stayed hidden away and dared not travel. Least of all to the USA

    • pottymouthpup says:

the FBI is run by Kash Patel now and appears to be in the business, along with the DOJ and almost the entire Republican party, of protecting rapists and pedophiles.

  2. Sue says:

Trump pardoned the domestic J6 terrorists and just commuted George Santos for the sole reason that he “voted Republican.” I can see him granting refuge to his pedo pal and calling him “a great guy.”

  3. Lucy says:

We have enough pedophiIes and sleazy people in our 1% here. America doesn’t want him.

  4. Tessa says:

Meghan is not wayward nor like fergie. Meghan is smart. Runs a business successfully. What a ridiculous comparison

    • Hypocrisy says:

It’s absolutely sick to compare the two especially with Sarah’s criminal behavior, which if she wasn’t protected by the royals she would have been arrested decades ago.

  5. Maybe they should exile him to the island St. Helena where Napoleon was exiled. It is overseen by the British. Seems as good a place as any. Doesn’t have a castle just a large stone house that was fraught with mold and mildew. Napoleon died there so this can be for the pedo.

  6. Amy Bee says:

Is this piece supposed to be comedic or satire? The US is the last place Andrew would want to move to because of the Epstein allegations. Anyway, Andrew should be exiled is the new narrative coming out the British press. They think sending Andrew away will absolve the Royal Family of its complicity.

  7. Shai says:

Trump literally let Santos out of prison early, I doubt anything would happen if Andrew were to be sent here. Either way, this is the monster they created so they can keep him.

    • Tessa says:

The royals cannot “pass him on” to America so they don’t have to deal with him. That would increase the cries of Abolish the Monarchy.

  8. HillaryIsAlwaysRight says:

Ha! He should not come to the US. We are not reverential to royalty like people are in Europe. The people here either won’t recognize him – and therefore won’t care about him or give him any special treatment – or will recognize him as the royal who liked to traffic underage girls with Epstein, and will therefore yell at him in public. I live in Manhattan. I would definitely yell sh*t at him if I saw him on the street here.

  9. Eurydice says:

If the Heritage Foundation had problems with Harry’s visa application, I wonder what they would think about Andrew’s.

    • HillaryIsAlwaysRight says:

Considering Andy probably knows all about what Trump did with Epstein, I bet Heritage Foundation would have zero to say about Andy.

    • Hypocrisy says:

I’m sure many of the HF members are named in the Epstein investigation also.. they would be fine with him.

  10. Cathy says:

Imo they don’t want to exile Andrew, they’ll need to keep him right where they know he is, so they can keep a watch over him and make sure he doesn’t get into any further disasters. The BRF can’t go back in time and stop Andrew doing what he did but they can keep him on a short leash. Sending him off overseas could bring more trouble? What would be best is making sure that the “spare/s” in the family are adequately financed and housed. Would Andrew had fallen in with Epstein if he wasn’t short of cash? I was shocked that Harry was expected to go cap in hand when he needed money to the King… years ago I read an article I wish I had kept that stated William, with Kate, had told Harry not not expect any money from him when he was King. This lead to Harry saying OK, we’ll go off and make our own money. So fix the system so future spares don’t end up like Andrew?

  11. anna says:

so are british tax payers supposed to pay for them forever? in theory they have money, but they also seem to be in debt constantly and have outrageous spending habits so …

  12. QuiteContrary says:

Do they shoot grouse in Abu Dhabi?

  13. IdlesAtCranky says:

How about the old classic for both of them — Reading Gaol! Or of course they could reopen the Tower of London as a state prison…
