Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel are ‘very committed to their marriage, they’re happy’

Over the summer, Justin Timberlake announced that he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease. The announcement came after Timberlake had been criticized and mocked for his lack of energy during his tour. So, some people felt bad about mocking and memeing a guy with Lyme disease. Since his announcement, Justin has been pretty quiet. As it turns out, he went home to his wife and sons and they’ve just been taking it easy. His wife Jessica Biel is sticking with him. She’s already stuck with him through infidelity, his attention-starved antics at their wedding, his narcissism and his DUI, so yeah, it’s not a surprise that she’s sticking with him through Lyme disease.

Justin Timberlake is taking some time for himself. After wrapping his Forget Tomorrow World Tour on July 30 and sharing news of his Lyme disease diagnosis the following day, a source tells PEOPLE the “SexyBack” singer, 44, is “focused on healing” at the moment.

“Since Justin wrapped his tour over the summer, they’ve focused on family time,” says the source. “The tour was rough for everyone. Justin had fatigue, pain and was just exhausted.”

The source continues, “After his Lyme disease diagnosis and powering through the tour, he’s been focused on healing and taking care of himself. He’s explored treatments and is taking it seriously.”

According to the source, Timberlake — who shares sons Silas, 10, and Phineas, 5, with wife Jessica Biel — “wants to be the best dad and husband.”

“Jess is supportive as always,” adds the source. “The family has spent time in both Montana and Colorado. They all enjoy the outdoors.”

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are “happy and united” as they focus on family. The couple is “very committed to their marriage” following Timberlake’s recent tour and Lyme disease diagnosis, a source tells PEOPLE.

The family — they’re parents to sons Silas, 10, and Phineas, 5 — has since been spending time in both Montana and Colorado. “They all enjoy the outdoors,” says the source. “They had a small celebration for their wedding anniversary.”

Biel and Timberlake, who tied the knot in southern Italy on Oct. 19, 2012, recently celebrated their 13th anniversary. The source adds, “Even when life is down, they’re very committed to their marriage. They are happy and united.”

I have no idea how their marriage works, but I suspect that Biel is just in it for the long-haul no matter what. She must be the most easy-going person in the world when it comes to Justin, either that or she just chooses to turn a blind eye. Of course, people would judge her for leaving her husband with Lyme disease, but what I’ve always found bizarre is why she never left him for all of the other stuff. Anyway, who knows. They’ve always been an odd couple.

  1. If you have to advertise that you are a happy couple…. well you know the rest.

  2. Libra says:

Every marriage is different and some of us lucky ones are able to figure out how to make it work.

  3. HillaryIsAlwaysRight says:

What does she see in him? She’s gorgeous, smart, talented. Was she that big of a Nsync fan?

  4. M says:

Of course she’s committed bc she has nothing else. I’m sure he’s committed to the image the marriage creates. That statement reads like it could be about Scoot and Buttons.

  5. Mego says:

I guess having a big house helps. And she must be a saint.

Look, I’ve had Lyme since 1998 with 4 active infections and twice IV antibiotics for 4 months. I just feel that Lyme is the cop out for a lot of celebrity laziness. Sorry not sorry

    • Louise says:

Effing thank you. I live in a prime tick/lyme area. This is not that.

    • Jan says:

Def. How is this one disease so concentrated to residents of Cali!

      • Shai says:

As a Californian, we have ticks, but I highly doubt multiple celebrities just suddenly live and roam around tick areas. He’s not the first to say he has Lyme Disease when it’s painfully obvious it’s something else.

  7. PJ says:

What did he do at their wedding? Ugh. It’s sad when you can see what you’re in for right from the beginning 🙁

  8. molly says:

    “Lyme disease” you say?
We called that “exhaustion” back in my day.

  9. JoiLuv says:

So it’s either another cheating scandal or a divorce incoming. Honestly, who cares? His tour’s been flopping anyway.

  10. Shai says:

I’m gonna be honest, I don’t think he has Lyme Disease and they used that as an excuse for his terrible tour. For sure it feels like he’s actually been to rehab or something which is prompting this weird update nobody asked for. You’re right about one thing, if she didn’t leave him before why would she now? Her acting career isn’t where I suspect she wants it to be so what is she supposed to do?

  11. Krista says:

She could do so much better.
