Here are some photos of the SAG/Actor Awards ladies in Balenciaga. It’s safe to say that Jessie Buckley is basically the only sure thing heading into the Oscars – she won the SAG/Actor last night for Hamnet, which is pretty much a clean major-awards sweep leading into the Oscars (SAG. BAFTA, Golden Globe, etc). All of the other acting categories are extremely chaotic, and then there’s Jessie in her frumpy dresses and earnestness. It’s fine. Her Balenciaga was just kind of meh.
Sarah Pidgeon is getting so much attention for Love Story, and playing Carolyn Bessette. Her face card is insane. Her Balenciaga dress was not good though. It was even worse in motion on the red carpet!
Yerin Ha’s Balenciaga look was cute and fine.
Sarah Catherine Hook (from The White Lotus) also wore Balenciaga – this is actually my favorite of the Balenciaga dresses from the SAGs, but I don’t like the gloves with the dress.

I actually like Jessie’s dress a lot, the cream/white bit adds an interesting sculptural element and it suits her ‘understated but interesting’ vibe a lot. It just needed a steam to get out some of the wrinkles!
Sarah’s purple dress is divine, but yes she definitely needs to lose the gloves! If they had been white it -might- have been okay if her styling was more glamorous, but without would have been much better for her styling here.
Except for her The Bride premiere look this is her best imo.
I rarely ever like those long gloves. It only works when a person can really pull them off and they add a dramatic effect. In this case, it would’ve been better without.
Yerin’s top really popped in all the pictures. And I’m kind of into Sara’s. It’s odd but I can’t stop looking at it.
Oh wow I absolutely love the clashing gloves with the dress. It gives such a fresh look. Loooooove! Oh and she’s stunning too.
I do appreciate that they’re in a unique color and not a basic black or white. The color story is unique. My personal preference though is just that I don’t like gloves. It’s a me thing.
That Balenciaga dress is stunning – the gloves distract from the gown.
I like opera gloves if they’re done well. This color absolutely clashes with the dress, and not in a good way.
The right shade of pale green or yellow could have worked, or even the right shade of pale blue, but not this.
The gloves give an “All Creatures Great and Small attending a difficult calving” vibe
