Taylor Swift wore a velvet Ralph Lauren dress for a date night with Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were out in New York this weekend. These photos are of Taylor and Travis exiting the Eighty Six, a steakhouse in the West Village, with a fantastic menu. I imagine Travis prefers steakhouses and any restaurant with big portions. They went to dinner after they saw Oh Mary!, the Cole Escola play which has earned rave reviews across the board (Maya Rudolph currently stars as Mary Todd Lincoln).

I really love Taylor’s look here – she wore a Ralph Lauren velvet dress with Aquazzura heels and a Chloe purse. Everything looks fantastic – the dress is flattering, her hair is cute (minus the bangs) and it’s just a really solid date-night look. As for Travis, he sort of looks like he picked out his clothes at Target, but apparently his shirt is from Valentino. Meanwhile, rumors are still circulating about the wedding, but I feel certain that 90% of those rumors originated with Taylor and Travis as a way to throw people off the scent of their real wedding plans.

Additionally, Taylor was criticized by many Knicks fans for attending Game 4 of the NBA Finals last week. She’s seen as a poseur, a Taylor-come-lately to the Knicks fandom. Sports analyst Monica McNutt was even caught on an open mic saying, “She’s not a Knicks fan, get out of here, girl.” Well, Jalen Brunson had a message for the Swifties!!

    I like the dress.

Didn’t Taylor used to go to knicks games during the 1989 era?

    • Miranda says:

Yeah, people brought out photos. Monica McNutt acknowledged that she was wrong, and hopefully that should be the end of it. Attacking a person for gatekeeping fandom is as dumb as gatekeeping fandom in the first place.

Agree. It is a cute 90s/Y2K throwback velvet dress.

She’s gotten a new stylist, right? Something has changed in her street style over the last 6 months – in a good way! This is a good look. I dont love the bangs either but overall she looks good.

Damn these people are not vegetarians. Don’t they sometimes hit up two steak houses in one night?

  4. Miranda says:

I’m normally not keen on that color or the fabric, but she does look nice here. Her street style is definitely improving.

We live in the West Village and Eighty Six is one of our low-effort date night spots because it’s just like, a 5 minute walk. I can confirm that the menu is indeed fantastic. I think they do some of the best non-steak dishes of any steakhouse in the city (the duck is absolute perfection!), and they have a weird but awesome sourdough bread and butter martini that I love.

    Velvet in summer?

I read a comment online once that Travis dresses like the owner of a bowling alley and now I can’t unsee it. And it’s not just because he’s football player. I used to have to go to events with the New York Football Giants for my job and damn can those men dress well.

    • Anare says:

ITA, I saw a comment recently that he looks like he works at a bowling alley and I snort laughed and now I cannot see anything else when I look at him. LMAO!

Love the dress though like other commenters, I too am old and am like- velvet in June???
    But she looked stunning.

I hope they’re having a good time in this pre or post wedding summer.
