After an alleged domestic violence incident at the home of former porn queen Jenna Jameson and UFC fighter Tito Ortiz on Monday, Tito held a tearful press conference in which he claimed that Jenna was addicted to the prescription painkiller Oxycontin. According to Tito, he found pills in Jenna’s pocket and then she somehow freaked out and fell, causing the injuries that prompted her to call 911. Jenna countered that she was not taking painkillers and said that Tito had thrown her into a bathtub, tearing ligaments in her arm. She claimed that she plans to press charges against him.
Jenna has been able to show that she’s not addicted to Oxycontin as Tito accuses, and has passed a drug test taken just one day after the incident. TMZ reports that she tested clean for all drugs, including cocaine, marijuana, and Oxycodone/Oxycontin. From what I can find online, Oxycontin stays in your system and is detectable by a drug test from between 1-5 days. It depends on each person’s metabolism and on how much they take, but if Jenna took the test just a day later she seems to be telling the truth that she’s not on anything.
Even if Jenna was on painkillers, it doesn’t explain how she sustained her injuries. Fellow porn star Joslyn James, who most recently made headlines for releasing her dirty text messages from serial womanizer Tiger Woods, claims to have personally witnessed Tito beating up Jenna on “three separate occasions.” This points to a pattern of domestic violence in their relationship. Whether James is telling the truth or not or just trying to earn headlines again remains to be seen. She sounds believable to me, but it’s hard to tell:

Joslyn James, 32, said she witnessed Ultimate Fighter Tito Ortiz roughing up his gal pal, contradicting Jameson’s claim that Monday was the first time.
“I saw three separate situations myself,” James, a friend of Jameson’s, told the Daily News. “They would be partying, and she wouldn’t do anything in particular to set him off.”
James – who claims she had a long-term relationship with Woods – spoke a day after cops arrested Ortiz on suspicion of abusing Jameson at their Huntington Beach, Calif., home.
Jameson, 36, claimed the father of her 13-month-old twin boys pushed her into a bathtub, tearing ligaments in her arm, after she assaulted his ego.
Ortiz, 35, denied abusing Jameson, saying she falsely accused him after he confronted her about her Oxycontin addiction.
“We have witnesses and evidence,” said Ortiz’s lawyer Chip Matthew. “She underwent private rehab at home, and family and friends participated.”
Matthews said Ortiz found two pills in Jameson’s pants pocket and said “I’m out of here” when she responded with an excuse.
“He meant he needed a day or two without talking, but she went ballistic,” the lawyer said.

Jenna was on Oprah a few months ago and she seemed very vulnerable to me. Jenna says the right things and comes across as intelligent and self aware but there’s something troubled and kind of delusional about her. I read her book when it came out and she tried to portray herself as this empowered sex star. She was arguably the first very successful and well known porn actress, but she seems to have paid the price for that. It’s just sad to hear that she might be getting abused at home, and I hope if that’s the case that she’s able to get out soon. Jenna and Tito have twin one year-old boys together, so they’ll be a part of each other’s lives for a long time even if they’re able to make a clean break.

A lot of women in the porn industry have been, and continue to be, abused.
It sucks that people are questioning her account of abuse just because of what she does for a living. Look at that guy. He hurts people for a living. She is lucky to be alive. I hope she gets out and stays out, for the sake of her young children. Why anyone would think she is doing this for the attention is beyond me.
I have never watched one of Jenna’s movies, but I knew who she was.. I sympathize with her having been through DV myself… I wish her the best of luck. Even though the relationship is over the abuse continues… Take care love.. and stay strong for your little boys.
It sounds like there is more to the story and that both may be hiding the full truth. The article claims Jenna said this was the first time Tito abused her yet Tiger’s skank says otherwise.
Jenna was addicted to drugs and may still be – who knows? That is irrelevant to the abuse and not an excuse for violence, if it occurred. She has had a very troubled past and she really does deserve some stability in her life.
Good for her for getting out before things got worse. If it happens once, it will more than likely recur. Take your kids and go.
I think it was a good move on her (and her lawyers’?) part to get drug tested so quickly. That will bring doubt on Tito’s story and credibility.
Maybe by the placement of her bruises etc. her story that she was pushed vs. his story that she fell will be proven.
Why did her friend have to run to the media with the information that she had supposedly seen prior abuse. Tell Jenna’s lawyers and the police, yes, but you don’t need to insert yourself into the story for your own publicity.
I do not know WHO it was but I read account of a well known porn start turned advocate for women. The details of ‘the life’ as she put it were harrowing. Prolapse, um…the psychological damage, etc.. all of these things seemed like they were much more stacked against the women in the industry. She’s had a hard life from what I’ve read. She seems vulnerable and not like a bad person so I can’t criticize her. I just hope if this is true she leaves especially b/c of the boys. She seems like a good soul basically.

I dont doubt her word on the abuse but she is very disillusioned about herself. I saw her on Oprah and she claimed to have changed the entire porn world for women so they arent degraded anymore in porn but I think its worse now than ever since anyone with a camera can now make porn and girls are doing anything and everything to be noticed or make a buck.
Hopefully she leaves this guy but Im sure there’s more to this than is reported.
Why did she drive to Vegas with 2 girlfriends to get tested when there are so many Doctors near her home, this stinks to me.

Also, I don’t care what the drug test says. I had addiction issues with Oxycontin myself for years, and depending on how often she uses and how badly she’s hooked, I wouldn’t put it past her to have just stopped for a couple of days so she could pass the drug test. It also depends on the TYPE of drug test and what they’re looking for…I was on methadone for a long time and our drug test didn’t even show Oxy use for some reason, so I am skeptical here, knowing how this works. But I suppose we should just wait and see really….she’s disgusting and all but she still deserves fairness.

MSat – You can’t say that it’s horrible to question her account of abuse based on what she does for a living and then in teh next sentence accuse him of being guilty of the allegations because of what HE does for a living. 😛
That being said, I was one of the ones on teh fence about this, and the drug results have me leaning toward Jenna now, duh. Call me cynical and jaded, but law school and CrimLaw/SexCrimes have really opened my eyes re: the tremendous grey area when it comes to sex crimes and evidence and testimony and all that. The horrible things you read and see here…I can’t even explain it. Add that to the fact that I did a lot of gender studies/identity politics crap in college and read up a lot on the rape culture and all that, and…Jesus.

As your research showed you, it’s possible for oxy to be undetectable 24 hrs. after taking it. And as your research shows, it depends on your tolerance. If Jenna is indeed addicted, it’s more than likely it wouldn’t be detected after the “1” day of your “1-5” day range.
I had a friend who used to be prescribed suboxone (like methadone is to heroin, but not as dangerous) and he would use the day before his appointment with a dr./Pee test.
I tend to believe they’re both at fault. I full-heartedly believe Tito’s speech, and I think it was genuinely heartfelt. But I believe it’s possible he raged when he found out and they quarrelled (As drug addicts get very confrontational when you confront them with their abuse) which led to this. I don’t think Tito threw her or punched her or anything though.
Remember, drug addicts lie like nobody’s business.
I agree, I think it’s sad that Jenna Jameson is being called a liar because she’s a porn star. The man does fight people for a living… That said, Jenna is no dummie. She’s not even in porn anymore, and even when she was, she called the shots and built her imagine into a multi-million dollar machine. Either way, I’ve known a few girls in the industry, who happened to be in it to finance their college educations – I knew one girl who ended up with triple degrees. There are a lot of myths about these girls. Sadly, abuse does tend to go hand-in-hand with some of their life choices and I wouldn’t be surprised many of them seek out abusive men consciously or unconsciously. There are two kids involved here. I hope whatever happens will ensure they are kept safe.

These drug tests mean nothing. There are a million ways to be on drugs yet have them come out negative. I dont know why companies, law enforcement, etc would even bother with these tests since so unreliable.

I actually thought it was the opposite – that doesn’t make sense to me at all. The more you do a drug, the longer it stays in your system because it has to be metabolized. It’s not like the chemical structure of the drug changes because you have built up a tolerance.
Like weed. If you smoke it once or twice, it’ll take maybe 10 days to leave your system. If you smoke it every day and suddenly stop, it can take 3 weeks to a month to test clean.
Anyway, it doesn’t MATTER if she was on drugs. A lot of women use substances to cope with abuse and trauma. Even if she is actively using, that does not give her husband an excuse to hurt her. You don’t break a ligament in your arm from falling. That’s the oldest excuse in the book, besides “I walked into a door.”
Tito is probably on roids, and a lot of UFC fighters have domestic violence issues. I see absolutely no reason to doubt Jenna – why would she tear her family apart for no reason? And if anyone thinks it’s because she wants custody of the kids, you should know that most judges don’t factor DV into the situation much unless the dad is also abusing the kids. So really – no freaking reason for her to lie. Who lies about this stuff anyway? Most women have to be convinced to report it over a period of YEARS until they realize they could die. Doubting the few women who are brave enough to come out publicly about abuse reeks of victim-blaming and shames other women who are experiencing abuse, discouraging them from getting help.
It’s just really messed up that Tito’s lawyer is trying to divert attention from the situation by painting Jenna as a drug addict, as if that makes it all ok. The police would not have arrested Tito without reasonable suspicion and evidence (i.e. documented injuries). And I can assure you all that injuries sustained from domestic violence tend to be very obviously a result of said domestic violence. There’s no mistaking them for something else.

The average time any sort of pill-opioid stays in your system is about 3 days. This also goes for Ecstasy. IF you’re a long term user then it will take longer to come out of your system. It also depends on what the drug binds to (ie, if it’s pot which binds to fat molecules, skinnier people will test negative quicker than someone who is overweight).
People who are honest-to-god addicted to oxies or roxies or any other number of heroin-like scripts will take a good minute to test clear. When I first heard that she tested clean I questioned when… if it is seriously a day afterwards (don’t know how dependable the lab is or what specific test they ran. Most, if not all, drug tests will go down to mcg but it’s possible she paid a company to test only for larger amounts) then she would have tested positive if she was struggling with addiction (aka long term user).
Other than the lab itself, I’d say Tito’s in trouble. That’s slander and defamation in addition to alleged domestic abuse…
I wonder what happened with Jenna’s first husband who’s name I believe is Jay? and her book was good. It is too bad she got so much surgery, there is this book I found in the library featuring porn stars nude and dressed with a little bit of history about them and Jenna looked alot different and very becoming.
They are retracting their statements. She tells TMZ

His lawyer says he found old pills and jumped to conclusions. This was just a misunderstanding.
My conclusion? He found pills and got mad at her. He accused her, she fell or he restrained her when she went ballistic, she decided to tell the world he threw her into the tub.
He was arrested over a scratch on her elbow, her only visible wound. She’s claimed she was raped by her high school boyfriend’s uncle but if so, how come her police officer father didnt take care of it?

Being someone who also “ran into a door” once I know how hard it is to admit what happened even to yourself, so kudos to her for speaking up. There are children involved and for their sakes I hope this doesn’t turn even messier. Also, I think that even if she was a drug addict, which we don’t know for sure, that’s no excuse for domnestic violence. It’s just lame.
Retracting of statements means nothing. I stand by what I said. Women who have been beat up by their partners recant their statements all the time, for many reasons.
Dovesgate, the level of harm also means nothing. If he laid a finger on her, it’s abuse. It doesn’t matter if he left one mark or beat her into a coma. Violence is violence. The betrayal of trust and safety is the same for either.
