Chris Noth isn’t a fan of Victoria’s Secret, SJP makes light of Kim Cattrall conflict

Before you spend a lot of money on Victoria’s Secret Lingerie to impress a special man, just make sure you think it is going to work for him. Chris Noth reminds us that not all men are turned on by frilly underthings:

He tells WENN, “I’m not into Victoria’s Secret so much. I find it over the top. I like subtlety and I like elegance. I think their things are gaudy and they are really trying too hard. If I could make a fashion statement, I think that Victoria’s Secret looks to me like somebody who is putting on too much make-up. It’s too gaudy, man.

“I mean, come on take it easy, you don’t have to have a f**kin’ bouquet of flowers on your underwear. Sorry Victoria’s Secret; I hope they’re not one of our sponsors!”

Maybe he likes lingerie, but the elegant kind that doesn’t have girly prints or too much lace.

Sarah Jessica Parker is also talking down Kim Cattrall’s comments that she did, absolutely, hold out for more money before she would commit to the film.

Even as they were filming those last scenes in Paris, Parker and her collaborator, writer-director Michael Patrick King, were kicking around a movie concept. King’s original pitch sounds like a palate cleanser intended to follow the hype surrounding the series finale—it was a light, summery, Bob Hope–style road movie, with the girls following separate paths. “Then the deals weren’t happening,” King tells me. “And the money people didn’t believe in it.”

Parker’s co-star Kim Cattrall reportedly scuttled the project, wanting more money and creative control. “If I had thought it was any of my business at the time,” Parker tells me carefully, “what I would have said is, ‘Isn’t it okay for Kim to think that the money wasn’t right?’” (She also drily notes, “Perhaps she was some kind of emotional psychic, because this way we made a better movie.”)

I’m glad that it has worked out for the best, and since Kim’s stand for more money held off production on the movie, it kind of proves that she was worth it. The movie could not be made without her, so the four main characters should have had very similar salaries. At this point, it seems that Kim was paid $6million, Sarah Jessica Parker made $10million (with an extra $5million for producing the film) and Cynthia Nixon and Kriten Davis were each paid $2million.

Chris Noth is shown kissing Sarah Jessica Parker in a scene from the Sex and The City Movie, filmed on 9/19/07, thanks to PRPhotos.

I wonder how much Chris Nose,,,,oops I meant Noth made? I think he is in the minority about disliking Victoria Secret’s coochie covers. Not all styles stand out like a Carmen Miranda hat.

My man isn’t much for the fancy window dressing either. He prefers a sutbly pretty well fitting bra and comfortable but cute undies. Lingerie is nice for a change up in your routine but it just isn’t all that practical. Most men could care less what you have under there. The fact that they are under there is pretty damn exciting all by itself.

*waits for Scott F’s opinion* lol

I have to say I totally agree with him. Most women aren’t built like VS models, but the main reasons – scratchy lace is not sexy, paying 60 bucks for a bullet bra that makes you look like madonna when you can get 2 or 3 great bras for that price anywhere else is not sexy, and I hate nonabsorbent fabrics, especially in summer. Like most real humans, I sweat in summer.

When I was in my 20s, I was all about ordering from their catalogue, but then I grew up. I don’t need underwear in 20 colours, and my husband loves the cotton ones even more. Ask Elvis. 😆

Not so keen on Vic’s Secrets. There’s much nicer undies out there from other sources – sexy but sleek and elegant. I also think it’s more the peeling it off that get’s a guy going, than looking at it! Most times, mine doesn’t even notice it in his rush to remove it.

I think women wear the more elaborate stuff more for themselves than for their men.

Stella, I went through a thongs are awesome phase from about 18-20 and I got over the crap very quickly. I want to be sexy but shit, I want to be comfortable too thanks.

I’m in love with the hipsters!

My boyfriend doesn’t like VS too much either. Just a cute pair of boyshorts and an adorable bra will do! 🙂

Agreed headache. The thing is a woman can find sexy ules and have them be comfortable too.

Thongs were invented by some douche who never had to wear them.
