Chris Brown calls paparazzi “gay”, makes half-assed apology

wenn3390527

As far as Chris Brown’s stupidity and his ongoing controversies go, this story barely manages a “meh” from me. It seems that Chris Brown almost got a parking ticket yesterday, in LA. He managed to “sweet talk” (TMZ’s words) the parking officer and got out of the ticket (WTF?), BUT before that happened, Chris had some kind of meltdown with the paparazzi who were trailing him:

Chris Brown put the charms on a parking officer yesterday in L.A. — successfully dodging an expensive ticket — but in the process … he hurled another NASTY homophobic slur.

Before sweet-talking the cop, Brown accused several cameramen of alerting parking enforcement officers that his car was illegally parked, ranting, “Y’all n**gas is weak. Did you all call them to try and film me? Y’ALL N**GAS IS GAY.”

It’s not the first time Brown publicly disparaged gay people.

Back in December, the singer got into a Twitter feud with ex-B2K member Raz B … calling Raz a “homo” and a “d**k in da booty ass lil boy.”

Smells like another insincere apology is in the wind.

[From TMZ]

Is this offensive, or is it something stupid from a very stupid young man? I was more offended by the Raz B stuff, honestly. This just seems like “Chris Being Chris,” nothing is ever his fault, you can always blame somebody else, and if somebody says something about you, they’re totally gay. Why is Chris so focused on that? Perhaps his rage issues are about something completely different…? Anyway, the Human Rights Campaign tells TMZ: “Invoking words meant to demean gay Americans is just plain unacceptable. Chris Brown should know better. He irresponsibly neglected to recognize the impact of his words and the unacceptable message that it sends to couple the word gay with negative actions.” No offence, HRC, but don’t you have better things to do with your time? Meanwhile, Chris just tweeted a half-assed apology: “I have total respect for Gay community and my intention was not to insult anyone in it.” Meh.

Meanwhile, did you hear the story about Chris tweeting and deleting a message and photo for Rihanna?

It appears that beleaguered R&B singer Chris Brown and pop songstress Rihanna have been maintaining clandestine contact via the social media network Twitter. Reportedly sharp-eyed fans happened to catch Breezy tweeting publicly to the Loud singer, although Brown quickly deleted the tweet which was meant for Rihanna’s eyes only apparently.

According to reports, Breezy’s tweet to RiRi read, “[You] got that pic I sent you” before the tweet vanished. Online sleuths were able to snag a screenshot of the tweet, all but confirming that the pair have been in friendly contact. Although some outlets are reporting that Brown meant to privately message the Barbadian beauty, neither side has stepped up to confirm the story behind the tweet.

Fans of Rihanna were alarmed to learn that the island-bred cutie and Brown have been in contact and began following each other on Twitter, which led to some uproar from Rihanna’s fans. However, Rihanna addressed the furor in her usual spunky and defiant fashion, urging her rabid fan base to not take the Twitter union so seriously.

[From MTV]

Ugh. Rihanna and Drake were circling each other for a while, and I really hoped Rihanna was going to go for it and completely leave this Chris stuff behind. If she and Chris and really sexting or tweeting each other, I will be disgusted.

ugghh…they both just need to go away

  2. Elizabeth says:

Maybe its an age thing (she’s still young and stupid) but girl has no taste in men. She ditches the good ones (Drake) and goes back sniffing around a known hate filled beater. Her career is done if she goes back to him – it’s hard to understand how she can be so self-destructive.

  3. Ruby says:

Perhaps Chris is trying to tell us all something. Those who make have of gay people are hiding their own latent homosexuality.

  4. Pyewacket says:

Perhaps Brown wants people to think he is in Tweet contact with Rihanna just to cause a stir.

Odd how he was “confused” and thought he private Tweeted. I do not buy it. I think he wants people to think she is sniffing around him again.

  5. Kaboom says:

Guess he won’t get a clue until a sizeable gay guy does him as he did Rihanna.

  6. Elizabeth says:

    @ Pyewacket
She is publically following him on Twitter and has had the restraining order lifted, so its not so hard to believe she is back with him.

  7. Jonesy says:

With as much as he’s on twitter, how could he not realize the difference between a normal tweet and private messaging someone? I call bull. He definitely just wanted to stir up trouble and get people talking about him. He’s pathetic.

  8. books6000 says:

    Really people???
he is a jerk, yes. but where exactly is he going off on gay people? He says the n word no one goes off he says gay and everyone goes crazy. He should not say either.
I can’t believe I’m about to type this but I’m on Chris side today. He mouth off had nothing to do with gay people.

  9. vanessa says:

I think sometimes the gay community is way too sensitive. Why isn’t anyone upset about the use of the n word? Why do people always have to apologize when they’re making a comment calling people gay or faggot? Why don’t comics have to apologize everytime they make fun of women, men, children, blacks, hispanics and whites? Unless someone is actively beating a gay person or harassing a gay person, or saying what tracy morgan said the word gay should be expressed without fear of a backlash.

  10. lucky says:

I think he is just a stupid kid… but then again even stupid kids should learn after MULTIPLE embarrassing episodes and public apologies right?!

For some reason I really want to like/ support him because I do think people give him more sh*t than other celebrities doing the same things but COME ON!!! Once can only take so much Chris!!

  11. Jonesy says:

Yup, here come the string of Chris Brown supporters.

I’ve always wondered how anyone (especially a woman) could support him when he’s done absolutely nothing deserving of support.

  12. Praise St. Angie! says:

    Ruby, FTW!!!

I totally agree…I’ve always thought that those who hate/protest the loudest are deeply in the closet, so ashamed of their own sexuality that they have to put that rage out there on others.

“He mouth off had nothing to do with gay people.”

on the contrary…he used the word “gay” as an insult. it had EVERYTHING to do with his (negative) opinion of gay people.

  13. Sloane Wyatt says:

Rhianna looks like a parody of a drag queen! Ugh.

Chris is a violent, foul mouthed punk, who should be serving a jail sentence.

BOTH of them are so morally bankrupt to shove an ugly beating under the rug just so they can keep on making money.

  14. Thea says:

I think he is absolutely disgusting. And as a minority, he should know better. And as for Rhianna, she is sniffing back around that monster after what he did to her face? She is stupid. I have always thought when someone is always spouting off at the gays they are trying to cover their own issues. And this little thug has some serious issues. He needs a ass whopping, and some serious jail time. And Rhianna needs some counseling obviously for reconnecting with that trash. As for him, I dont see a good outcome for this punk.

  15. Jessica says:

I agree that using those types of word are horrible, but why don’t people talk about the fact that he uses the N word. I know the argument that if it ends in an “A” then end of it then it’s not offensive or that if you are Black then you can say it. But I am black and I find it very offensive no matter who uses it or what letter is at the end of it. I don’t like any offensive slur being used and I don’t think that we should brush one under the rug while we fight and scream about another one.

  16. Onyx XV says:

I just keep wishing that the guy would learn to speak English. Every time he opens his mouth he sounds like the biggest idiot.

  17. Riana says:

I’m over Rihanna, I pity her because I feel she has some genuine issues from her experience with men and her Father in the past which leaved her wanting a man like Chris Brown. I realize this is the most successful time in her life, but in some ways I feel she’s circling the drain.

Running her mouth too much about her sexual preferences and issues, lifting the restraining order and following Chris, her music videos and the way she has been lashing out at her own followers.

Frankly I do expect to see her back with Chris and I know it will be the moment I lose all respect for her. She’s a broken warped thing.

  18. gbehmy says:

rihanna looks disgusting in these pics, you could almost see her vag!both of them are pathetic and gross

  19. original kate says:

chris brown always looks one sandwich short of a picnic to me. rhianna is a pretty girl but she needs to stop with the nast-ay outfits. john galliano is another one who will confuse being drunk with being a bigot.

    and it goes on…

  20. Praise St. Angie! says:

“I agree that using those types of word are horrible, but why don’t people talk about the fact that he uses the N word. I know the argument that if it ends in an “A” then end of it then it’s not offensive or that if you are Black then you can say it.”

    Hi Jessica,
This is my take on the partial outrage.

while I also find that word offensive, it’s become (mostly) accepted in a large part of the black community. as someone said about the word “bitch” in another post, the target of a slur using that slur him/herself can lessen the impact of it…effectively “taking back” the word from the bigot and taking away it’s power.

so, when someone like Brown uses that word, you know he’s using it as “you guys” and not as a racial slur, so no one cares. but, he’s clearly using the term “gay” as an insult, and therefore a slur.

    that’s the difference, I think.

(again, I am not excusing his use of the N word, but just trying to explain why some folks aren’t as angry about him using that word.)

frankly, I think he’s a genuinely stupid man who stopped maturing at age 14.

  21. LunaT says:

    @Jessica– I
hear what you’re saying. I think Praise St Angie has it right—it’s b/c a black guy used the word it doesn’t make such a stir. If it were a person with a diff skin tone, I bet people would’ve said something about it.

This kid is ass. He should be happy anyone still gives a f!ck enough about him to take any pictures.

  22. lucy2 says:

Is anyone surprised? He’s proven himself time and time again to be an angry, stupid, hateful, violent person.
If she’s stupid enough to keep in contact or even get back together with him, all I can say is good luck, hope he doesn’t kill you next time.

“chris brown always looks one sandwich short of a picnic to me.” LOL!

  23. Ja says:

This insignificant little wanker NEVER makes an apology, does he? Well, one day he’ll run into someone who will break his nose.

  24. Amanda G says:

If Rihanna didn’t have the pressure of fans looking up to her, she would have totally gone back to Chris. I think we all know this.

Nothing surprises me about that kid. He is ignorant and hateful.

  25. Mary Jane says:

I can be done with them both easily — but I like “disliking” on them both too much!

  26. werty says:

Perhaps his rage issues are about something completely different…?

  27. Hakura says:

Reestablishing contact, no matter what medium,is a huge mistake. Allowing him back into her life & upping her chance of caving in.

As to CB’s freak outs… He acts like a spoiled child throwing tantrums, just bigger & much more dangerous. He’s displayed his rage in public several times, throwing & breaking objects on a news show, & constantly rounding on paps. He only acknowledges his actions when his managers force him due, to public outrage.

Which means bad press, & losing money. At this rate, he’s going to end up permanently hurting or killing someone.

  28. LunaT says:

Enty at CDAN posted this bit today a Rhianna tweet. Eff. Made me sad to read it. The tweet was pulled but you know some woman/young girl read it and took it to heart.
    http://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2011/06/rihanna-goes-crazy-says-it-was-her.html

@Jessica, Enty did say something about Chris’s use of the n word as well as him using gay as a slam. Heart me some Enty. Except when he was spare changing for his radio show, but that’s another topic.
