Okay. What is about this woman that makes me, the Queen of Disdain, want her to finish out her Vegas thing, and just go have a nice quiet life raising babies and puppies, and shopping at Target? She just seems like she would be so much happier. And I’m not being condescending here.

Agreed. Everything in her body language says ‘please, please, get me out of here…I just really don’t want to do any of this anymore’ Am guessing she can’t walk away because what else does she know? She knows nothing else. Her family has failed her in not pulling the plug on her preforming anymore. So what does she do now – go retire and go home to the family that has exploited her for her whole life? And then we wonder why she has that vacant look in her eyes, doing nothing else..
I agree but in a different way.I don’t think she is comfortable because she is not the little sex kitten Britney anymore and she knows it.Thats why making public appearances are so hard for her now.She knows people remember that the public wants to see that Britney and not a older mother of two.Just look at her her on talk shows from years ago.Ellen.David Lettermen,TRL.She did all those SNL’s and did not have one problem being seen or performing.Don’t you think she saw all the comments online about how she did not look the same anymore?You don’t think it bothered her?From what I understand she is not allowed any internet access anymore.From what I saw on her show Britney Jean special she says she still loves to dance and perform.Besides all the constant criticism about not being the young Britney and her mental illness it has made her introverted and completely uncomfortable in front of the public.To the point she is paranoid.
I tried watching her Vegas show on Cable and it was awful. She can’t dance and we won’t even discuss the singing or lack there of. She basically used props to help with her performances.

Her performances are of such low quality, it really is embarrassing. I know nostalgia is a powerful thing, but I can’t believe that people pay money to go to the live show. I can’t really blame her for wanting to keep performing if people are still willing to pay to see it, but it is very sad how unprofessional the performance is. Very sad.
I don’t think she wants to keep performing. I think her owner aka father wants as much money as he can drain from her while she can still get out there and pretend to sing. After all, once she stops performing, his income is going to go down significantly.
That’s how I’ve felt about her since the whole thing went down. She does not seem happy performing anymore, I wish her managers, including her father, would just let her retire and enjoy her life.

I feel the same way. Maybe she could do some sort of limited-run tour every five years or so, so she can still meet her fans without having the pressure to work, work, work all the time.
I think her dad just figures she’s happier when she’s performing or preparing to perform. He really doesn’t seem greedy – the amounts he’s asked for to compensate for stopping his own business and helping her seem very reasonable for the area (low, actually). I think a major strain on his marriage had been disagreement over pushing Britney into certain things, so he pulled back from that many years ago and came back into helping manage her only because she was in meltdown mode and needed protection. Once she was somewhat stabilized after the hospital, she started to go to a center with room to practice dance, which was obviously therapeutic. She was in no shape to deal with her children, though- the judge denied visitation but her ex actually allowed it as long as she didn’t drive and one of her parents was present at all times. It kept her familiar to them, but it was a long time before she could interact with them. She chose the right ex- KFed worked closely with the grandparents (her mother even stayed in the house when he was out of town) and never said an unkind word about her and didn’t bleed her dry with ridiculous levels of child support when he had full custody. That doesn’t always happen.

I also don’t get the whole “I’m an asshole” speech. Maybe it was something you had to hear to actually understand what she was trying to say? I don’t get it. I’d be interested to hear other takes. But as it is, just from reading what I did, I’m left feeling that there are better ways we, as women, can empower ourselves than name calling.
Damn. Gabourey that was an amazing speech. I didnt see it as arsehole empowerment that was her way of being honest and saying f-you why shouldnt I be confident. This girl has my respect.

If she got hit in the face and broke her nose during a rehearsal, that should be a workers comp claim. Rehearsals should be covered. Brit’s production manager/bus. managers did a VERY bad (illegal?) thing by not getting the dancer medical help right away, and by not making sure that the dancer and insurance company were connected.

Never noticed that Fassbender needed any help in being charming, but I guess that is the best Lainey could do in this instance; the entire show was funny and they were all adorable, so it was hard for her to find the negative, I suppose. Fassbender seems to dropped about ten years in the past couple of weeks.

Also, that Armani Prive Cate Blanchett wore to the Globes is one of the best dresses I have seen all year. She is just majestical and ethereal on it, but that is given since she is one of the last movie stars who know how to dress to impress.
