Kanye West reignites Taylor Swift feud with lyric: ‘I made that bitch famous’

Taylor Swift and Kanye West kept their beef going for too many years, and they only publicly buried the hatchet last year. The beginning of the drama happened in 2009, at the VMAs, obviously. That’s when a drunken Kanye stage-rushed Taylor’s first-ever VMA win, snatched the mic from her and began “Imma let you finish but…” and told the crowd that Beyonce should have won. People honestly treated Kanye like he was King Kong and he had just snatched the mic from Faye Wray. Was it rude? Of course. Did everyone honestly feel sorry for Taylor? Absolutely. But the conversation around the moment took on a life of its own. Taylor became a household name and Kanye had to go on an apology tour. He had to “go away” for a while after that too, and after a year, he returned with My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, arguably his greatest album.

My point? Kanye and Taylor both sort of milked the controversy for their own separate gains. When they couldn’t milk it anymore, Taylor graciously accepted an offer to present Kanye with his Video Vanguard Award at the VMAs last year. Her speech was kind and generous, and it seemed like Kanye felt like an a—hole all over again. But still, it seemed like the beef was over and there was peace in our times. And then Kanye had to ruin it. In his new album, The Life of Pablo, Kanye has this song lyric:

“For all my Southside n—-s who will know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why, I made that bitch famous / God damn / I made that bitch famous.”

Yeah. I know Kanye isn’t anyone’s favorite person… but in his defense, Taylor truly did become a household name that night at the VMAs in 2009. She was known in country music circles before that, and tweens might have known her, but her name-recognition went through the roof post-VMAs. Being Kanye’d was arguably the best thing that ever happened to her career.

Anyway, Camp Yeezy and Camp Swifty are now at war. And it’s totally stupid. TMZ reports that Kanye gave Taylor a heads-up about the lyric and she “said she got the joke and gave him the thumbs up to release the song with the lyric.” Because they “speak on the phone from time to time and are on friendly terms.” But Taylor’s spokesperson went to People Mag to say: “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.'” Sh-t, Yeezy better get out of town FAST.

And if that doesn’t make it clear enough that Taylor Swift is NOT PLEASED, her brother made a video of himself throwing out Yeezy sneakers. And Taylor’s squad is falling all over themselves to defend their Queen Bee. It particularly sucks for Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss, because they were actually at Kanye’s NYFW show at Madison Square Garden.

Eh, pretty sure this is a PR move for both of them. She loves playing the victim, Kanye loves starting shit…keeping this drama going is ideal. Unlike her fued with Katy, Taylor gets real sympathy here since everyone agrees Kanye’s a douche, and Kanye gets to be in a fued with someone too dull and reliant on prudish fans to really tear into him. It’s perfect.

    • Allie says:

Yeah, agreed. Her team is probably cackling with glee. He got her name in the news without her having to lift a finger and now she’ll ride high for a few weeks while her fans cry and try to defend her.

He didn’t make her famous, but he sure helped her become the household name she is today. Taylor used Kanye and the guys she has dated to become this pop princess and I’m not sure she would be where she is now without them.

    • Locke Lamora says:

Yeah, I’m pretty sure this was planned.
I have more problems with “I still might have sex with Taylor” .

      • mila says:

I do not agree. This is going to hurt him, his lyrics are bloody insulting to any woman plus that comment on Cosby…

He lost the plot. like, seriously lost it. my guess is he wanted a duet with Swifty. Her PR team wants her to have clear image, this is not how they work.

I refuse to believe that she had ANYTHING to do with it, she is not THAT desperate. She is a victim, until proven otherwise.

      • saras says:

Someone needs to shoot him with a tranquilizer gun and cart him off to inpatient treatment as he is insane! If he replaced Norths name with all his spewing misogony he would be charged with verbal abuse. At least his social privilages should be taken away and shunned for a while!

      • Wren says:

Yeah that’s the part that bothers me. Like she somehow owes him sex. Yes, his actions definitely influenced public awareness of her and her brand, and they both milked that incident for all it was worth, but that doesn’t mean he has “earned” access to her in any way.

Ugh, this notion is toxic and needs to die.

      • saras says:

Pretty sure if someone wrote a song how they get to @#$& North, owned #$@! $ Donda, and Kim is a @#$&ing #$@! $ trap queen his head would finally explode. Which would be awesome!

      • Zwella Ingrid says:

yeah. That line really honors his wife, doesn’t it. What an A-hole. Words just can’t express the disgust I feel for him.

      • Priya says:

He’s so gross. He’s still famous because of the women connected to him:KK, Amber Rose, Taylor Swift.

      • Jwoolman says:

This is way over the top obnoxious, I doubt Taylor ok’d it. She doesn’t need his insanity for publicity. And he also seems to have forgotten he’s married. So it’s yet another insult to his wife as well.

This is also the guy who thought Tyga was smart to get in early with his 15 or 16 year old sister-in-law. He’s not going to be very protective of little Nori.

    • enuff said says:

He makes me want to puke…and the K’s, too…that’s all I have!

    • Dirty Martini says:

After reading all the Kanye – Taykor articles today I realize what the problem is……a failure in communication. I truly believe that tAylor told Kanye his song lyrics were misognyistic…….alas after reading the illiterate hot mess that was his “rules” for the fashion week models…..there is no doubt that Kanye didn’t know what the eff that meant and just assumed she was OK with it.

He is indeed a grade a ass.

  2. mellie says:

It appears that he needs Taylor Swift to make him famous…as far as music goes anyway. Otherwise, he’s just Kim Kardashian’s husband who designs dance wear.

    • Petee says:

      Yep.

    • Naya says:

To the average E! viewer maybe. Most people couldnt tell you what a Kardashian is.

      • Elsie Otter says:

Oh how I wish that were true. Everyone who isn’t living under a rock knows the Kardashians.

      • Naya says:

My office mates do not live under a rock and they have asked me multiple times to explain what Kardashian means. One time I was asked if Kardashian was slang for big butt because it kinda sounds like “ass”. I try to explain them using who they are lately clinging to. One of the older women knew Caitlin as Bruce so I explained the step dad situation. Before Caitlin I used to use the OJs lawyer route. Now if you are talking to people under 40, I say Kanyes wife. The second question is always why they are famous, and for that I have never had an answer.

      • frantasticstar says:

what!? Unfortunately the KarTrashian are well known.

      • Colette says:

That’s not true most of my relatives can’t name a Kardashian.Unless you are into pop culture, entertainment magazines, gossip sites, most people don’t know most of these celebrities covered on this site.

      • BB says:

Oh man, I like the idea of people not knowing the Kardashians. Even my mom and husband, who have almost zero pop culture knowledge, know who they are.

      • Grant says:

Same with my dad. He knows no one, but he knows the Kardashians. I’d actually argue that he knows more about Kim Kardashian than Kanye West.

      • bluhare says:

Tell them the Cardassians were a race of people on Star Trek TNG.

      • Veronica says:

I would argue that it’s more of a generational gap in pop cultuer knowledge if there is one, and even then, most of my older coworkers have at least heard the name, especially if they have kids. (Hell, I don’t watch television, and I knew something of who the Kardashians were several years back.) You have to be pretty detached from mainstream media culture not to have any passing name recognition of it whatsoever. If the family is good at anything, it’s publicity.

    • Tiffany :) says:

Exactly. He needs to refer back to that moment because he has nothing interesting to say.

I hate that he’s taking credit for a woman’s accomplishments. Her album in 2009 was already the biggest selling albium of the year, and she went on to win 4 Grammys including album of the year. She was already a huge well known star with power before he had his tantrum.

      • Jwoolman says:

I don’t understand the idea that he made her famous by drunkenly getting on stage to tell everybody someone else should have won the award. She got the award because she was already well known. If her music weren’t already known and liked, the Kanye blip wouldn’t have done anything for her.

This is just Kanye going over the cliff again. He really does seem to be getting steadily worse. Doesn’t he have anybody in his life who might say that such things are a bad idea? To suggest a rethink?

    • MC2 says:

Hehehe- great comment and so true! He is more a fame w*ore then his family and needs to keep his name out there.

  3. Flahoola says:

So sad and pathetic for 2 grown adults. Fame hungry with no self respect!

    • ell says:

is it fame hungry to oppose to misogynist slur?

      • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Apparently? Taylor should be honored Kanye thinks she’s a woman willing to have sex with him since he ‘owns’ her just like Kim and Amber.

  4. NewWester says:

Considering they are supposed to be on “friendly terms” that is an odd thing for Kayne to say about a “friend”.

    • iGotNothin says:

I agree with other posters that this was all planned. He probably did call, and she probably gave the okay to release it; but only with the contingency that her “feminist” views wouldn’t allow her to publicly okay the lyrics so she got the right to deny.

  5. AlmondJoy says:

So very disgusted with him. I’ve always been a huge Kanye fan… But talking about Amber’s baby and his nasty words about her and now Taylor have turned me completely off. Done with him.

    • Erinn says:

Yeah … it was absolutely trashy. Both situations. There is no need of that – and while degrading her he’s claiming all the work she put into building her career as his own – here’s the thing Kanye – she was a big name in country music, and had started to cross into more of a pop stream by then. It wasn’t like some unknown kid on the street that someone caught Kanye being a dick to on camera. She had a ton of awards under her belt in 2009 – but Kanye has the same understanding of object permanency as a baby. If he can’t see someone, they just don’t exist.

      • AntiSocialButterfly says:

Actually guffawed aloud at your last sentence. So, so, so true.
(just had a vision of baby Kanyuck with full grown man Kanyuk head being used to exhibit Moro Reflex to students, hahahahahahah)

      • swak says:

Also, she was only 19 at the time. He was 30, had been in the business much longer than she was and should have known better. It was all kinds of wrong on his part.

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Same. I thought this man had an amazing message to deliver, instead I now believe he had 2-3 good albums in him and is now venting his lack of creativity with all this gross misogeny.

      • Lizzie McGuire says:

Yeah same here, idk what’s going on with him but he’s definitely in territory “I’m done with you”. The last album Yeezus was bad enough but I decided to give him another chance. It’s just all the Amber Rose twitter feud, the Bill Cosby tweet & now this is making me think he’s not worth my time. I really hope his new album crashes & burns so he learns his lesson. BTW I did love what Taylor’s brother did, that was really badass.

      • Cran says:

The only thing that surprises me about Kanye are comments about him where people say I’m done with him now. You should have been done with him in 2009 when he bumrushed Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech. The man has zero respect for anyone except people who have something he wants. He has rapped about his wife giving him blow jobs, repeatedly called her a bitch on his albums, the whole Wiz/Amber nonsense. It just goes on and on.

Love his music all you like but again he deserves zero respect. All of those celebrities who are on Twitter defending Taylor Swift can sit down. You came to Yeezy’s show because it was the place to be seen. You did not come for fashion. You got your picture taken and you heard the new album. Full stop.

As for Taylor Swift’s brother? The man threw away a pair of sneakers that sell for $950. How is that badass?

      • claire says:

Did he have 2-3 good albums in him though? His earlier albums had a lot of ghost writers. The recent ones haven’t. Kanye on his own is maybe not that great, hence all the spectacle he has to create for attention.

    • Ripley says:

To be honest, I think the biggest slur is against Kim. He’s her husband, the father of her children and he’s talking about sleeping with someone else. Disgusting. And it makes me beyond salty that I’m feeling sorry for Kim.

      • ell says:

no way. kim can be as stupid as she likes and stick with him, but this dude’s going around calling other women bitch, degrading their achievements by saying he made them famous and saying they could have sex. and that’s on top of all the other misogynist things he’s been saying. if he were my man i’d be so turned off by his disrespect of other women, so i don’t feel sorry for kim if she just ignores it.

      • dimsumum says:

absolutely 100 per cent agree with you, Ripley. What sort of example is this setting for his children? Publicly saying that you think that you and another person might get it on one day…incredibly disrespectful to Kim.

      • Zwella Ingrid says:

That is what bothers me too. Total disrespect for his wife.

      • Jwoolman says:

If Kanye spends any amount of time with his son, the poor kid is going to likely end up a real sleazeball. Nori is going to be most damaged by her self-absorbed mother, in other ways.

Where is a nice wolf family willing to adopt?

      • Anne says:

Like other posters here, I don’t feel especially sorry for Kim. His lyrics ARE disrespectful to her, but I feel like Kim disrespects herself in many ways for profit. I think she reduces HERSELF to a vacuous sex object, so it doesn’t surprise me unduly when her publicity-hungry husband describes her as one.

This is the media game these two choose to play. There isn’t much to respect about the way either of them go about it.

    • SydneySnider says:

Let’s not forget what he said about his missus:

‘I bet me and Ray J would be friends / If we ain’t love the same b*tch / Yeah, he might have hit it first / Only problem is I’m rich.’

I have a feeling this historical gem still torments him.

      #SleazyYeezy

      • Kitten says:

I guess he didn’t take his own advice to “get in early”.
Although, getting in early didn’t do much for Ray J’s career…

      • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Nothing like implying like your wife is only with you for money to really make folks jealous of your ‘love’.

      • lucy2 says:

Between that and the line about how he could have sex with Taylor, I’m really repulsed. That’s a horrible way to speak about women in general, but especially your wife, the mother of your kids.

    • Talie says:

I don’t think he ever got over the fact that Taylor got one over on him and then used it to propel herself forward in such a massive way.

    • serena says:

I agree, I sort of liked him before and some of his songs are hands down amazing but I can’t stand his constants slurs on women. I don’t care if these said women are trashy, tacky, famewhore, whaterver you want, you don’t speak like that. I’ll stop listening to his songs.
That’s a really good message he’s sending to his daughter and son.

      • SydneySnider says:

It’s also occurred to me that little North must be having his misogynistic drivel drummed into her. I read that Kim said she cud the stop listening to his latest “music”, and the little girl has also been dragged along to his ” listening parties”. Even if North is paying no attention, these messages are reaching her subliminally. Is no one looking out for this little girl? Her parents – nay, her entire family – are complete gronks.

    • QQ says:

I too feel like I can’t enjoy him anymore, he is acting like such a sensitive ballsack

    • BB says:

I used to like him as well, but he has beyond gone off the deep end these days. Someone commented the other day that people used to say he would be embarrassed by the Kardashians and now the Kardashians are embarrassed by him.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I was never a huge an, but had gone from loathing him to sort of rolling my eyes in a fondish way. But those lyrics actually hurt my feelings. Isn’t that silly? I feel so dismissed as a human being because I’m a woman.

    • Priya says:

Seriously. I want to believe he’s misunderstood. But he’s just high on himself.

  6. Nancy says:

Most of her audience are very anti Kanye so the sympathy vote will always go to Taylor. She should have a little Kanye account set up for every time he mentions her she gets more green and pity.

    • lilacflowers says:

I’m not her audience. I cannot stand her. But he ‘s a disgusting pig and no woman deserves the manure he is hurling at her.

      • Elisa the I. says:

        +1

      • Shambles says:

Same. Anyone who has ever read my comments here knows that I have a borderline irrational hate-on for Taylor Swift. As in, cannot stand her to my very core. But no one deserves to be in the crosshairs of the utter shit show that is 2016 Kanye West.

      • Snazzy says:

        Agreed

      • Stacey says:

Thank you for this. I cannot stand her either and I also can’t believe that there are people here snarking that Taylor should be okay with this because it will get her sympathy.

Kanye is disgusting. He is a married man with a small daughter. If someone said this about Kim or North West he’d be raging. He deserves all the flack he’s getting from this.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Thank you. How can anyone, even people who hate her, blame this on her? Maybe she used it originally, but so what? Nobody deserves this garbage, and it’s insulting and degrading to all women, not just Taylor.

    • claire says:

I’m not a Taylor fan. I don’t like Kanye because he’s a d*ck and I don’t like narcissists and misogynists. This dude hates women. It’s pretty clear. Why as a feminist would I support that?

    • Jane.fr says:

So what if she used it. She did not asked for it, but had the courage and sense to make the better of it. When life threw you lemons…. etc. Maybe she gained a little more fame a little sooner. I will not blame her for turning a bad situation in a career plus. But in no way does she owe him anything. Not a thank you and certainly not sex.

    • Tiffany :) says:

Do you also feel that way about the victims of Bill Cosby? Or Amber?

So all of these women, it’s ok to talk about them with disrespect because Kanye’s notoriety will somehow benefit them in the end?

That is a view of the world that I do not understand or support.

  7. Leah says:

Can we talk about the sexism? The rampant misogyny? Its not just a tantrum prone child. Its a little bit more dangerous than that.
Kanye is basically another proof that if your a rich man in america you can say just about anything and people will make excuses.. I mean Donald Trump is a real presidential candidate….

    • ell says:

thank you. there’s literally no excuse to this sort of sexism, and misogynist slur should be criticised each and every time some man decide do use it.

      • Really says:

I cannot believe how anyone can believe Kanye made her famous! That’s is outrageous. She already had a number of hits by that point, and she’s went on to make more. Love or hate her music, let’s not say that a man made her famous. That has to be the most sexist thing I’m reading here. If anything, she made HIM famous!

      • Naya says:

By “slur” are you referring to the B word? Because while I agree that reducing her to a sex conquest is disgusting and misogynistic, the B word I disagree. Bitch is just woman who isnt middle aged in that culture. Its like “gal” in Country. He even refers to his own wife by the word. It doesnt carry the same insidious meaning it might if uttered on a Chris Martin song.

Yeah, but talking about wanting to be rewarded with sex for doing her a PR favor is just plain evil. Go away, Kanye.

      • Shambles says:

Naya, let me start by saying I love reading your comments, but I completely disagree with you here. Please please correct me if I’m wrong, but It sounds like you’re saying it’s okay for Kanye to call women bitches because it’s just an understood part of black and/ or hip hop culture, while “Bitch” is only an insidious slur if a white man says it. I think that’s really unfair and honestly a little bit insulting. First of all, why can’t we just STOP calling women bitches, no matter what culture we’re in? I would love to live in a world where it’s not okay to reduce a woman to “bitch,” “slut,” “whore,” at all. Secondly, couldn’t it be argued that it’s almost worse for Kanye to be publicly calling women bitches as an influential black man, since black women are one of the most marginalized groups of people already? I’m not trying to start a flame war, and if I’m being completely ignorant feel free to tell me because my mind is open. But it just seems really unfair to say that it’s okay for Kanye to call women bitches because of the culture he’s coming from.

      • censored says:

@Naya who said “Bitch is just a woman who isnt middleaged in that culture”
As a Black woman I am asking you please to stop this bullsh1t, stop trying to normalize or defend that word as ” cultural ” it is meant to be disrespectful point blank period
It so sad to me that some of us are so male identified that we will defend black men even at our expense internalized misogyny at its worst
        JUST NOPE

      • Wendy says:

It also isn’t the culture he came from. He was raised very upper middle class by an educated woman, he did not grow up running the streets, lacking in educational opportunities and scrapping for meals. He has appropriated this ‘hard’ image for promotion.
He is about as street as Miley Cyrus, so he gets no pass from me.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

It’s NOT ok to call women bitches. Ever. And while you’re at it, don’t call me a “gal” either.

      • Josefina says:

        @Naya

I wouldn’t say it’s exactly a cultural thing but I get what you’re saying. I think words are powerless by themselves, it’s about context and the messenger. I call my friends by insults and slurs and they do the same with me. Does that make it fine for a guy to call me a slut on the street? No, it doesn’t, because he’s not my friend. But I can decide how offended I am by that. Just to clarify – I’m not saying people who get offended by those words shouldn’t. It just bothers me when people think I’m less feminist or a rape-apologist by simply not getting offended by those words.

The word “bitch” is the least of my problems here. It’s the fact Kanye thinks Taylor owes him sex for a mistake he did. THAT’S what offends me.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Naya and Greenieweenie, sorry but saying it is part of the culture does not make it acceptable. Five decades ago, mainstream US culture had no problems with referring to women as “bitches, broads, dogs, chicks, babes, dolls, tomatoes” in songs, TV, radio, movies, and advertising. These terms, which are derogatory, were all perfectly acceptable. They shouldn’t have been.

      • Naya says:

        @Shambles

Firstly, nice of you to say. Secondly, you make strong points although I still disagree. And finally, I was referencing hiphop artists not black artists. Macklemore for instance uses the B word. My point was that a rock artist like Lenny Kravitz would have a problem getting away with it. The word just means something different in that lexicon

        @Everyone
I kinda get what you are saying. For you, this word has not been defanged. Well within the context of hiphop, it has. I dont know when it happened, perhaps it was when Missy Eliott and others appropriated it; back when female artist began to call themselves “boss bitch” or “the hardest bitch” or whatever. Bitch lost its insult meaning. It doesnt mean “woman who doesnt know her place” or “woman who isnt interested in me”. It just means woman. Like I said, he used it to refer to somebody he loves too. Basically if you were trying to insult a woman with the word, you would have to clarify that you mean it as an insult.

I gather some people are offended by pretty much any casual term applied to mean woman so I’m curious if that extends to a word like “guy” too. In the end I just have three thoughts on this, 1) words acquire new meaning all the time 2) CONTEXT always and 3) (i cant believe I am about to say this) starting to see why people keep complaining about a culture of offence if even “gal” in the context of a Country song is a problem – fyi not girl but gal.

      • censored says:

        @Naya
But it has not been defanged in hiphop culture usually when it is used it is in a disrespectful tone or to brag about ownership or sex (as Kanye has done here ) which is still misogynistic Note that when JayZ was just dating Beyonce and was bragging about it he said ” I have the baddest chick in the game wearing my chain ” not bitch plus when some rappers are referring a woman they respect she is called ” a ride or die chick” or my woman/ my baby
It has nothing to do with a ” culture of offense” which is basically slyly calling people oversensitive because YOU have no problem with the word

      • Jwoolman says:

Kanye’s mother was a college professor. That’s the culture he came from. He knows damn well he’s slurring women when he says such things. It’s more than that word. His lyrics and general statements and actions are dripping with disrespect for his mother’s gender.

      • Naya says:

        @Censored

Chick is often used as substitute for bitch in the radio version, I would check what word Jay z used in the album song. That said, you realise that even “chick” is offensive to the people on this thread, right? In fact the only acceptable terms to use in lyrics for them would be ” young lady” and “woman”. I wonder whether they are similarly offended by the use of “boy” or “guy” in songs sang by women. Plucking offence over nothing doesnt make you a social justice advocate or a good feminist, it just wastes valuable energy fighting over a none issue. Proposing that the rest of us who know how to read context and intent are somehow assimilated into the “oppression” is also insulting. My take: dont listen to any music outside of instrumentals. God knows when Girth Brooks may cause you mighty offence by singing about that gal he met at the honky tonk.

    • Jayna says:

Exactly. Yet, Kanye always gets a pass and gets away with it. It always boggles my mind how much he gets a pass for what he says and does that is misogynistic.

      • Luxe says:

Yes! Because Kanye’s “just being Kanye.” So when he’s a douche (every day ending in “y”), he gets a pass. Even though there are plenty of people that condemn him for this behavior (like the majority of the commenters here that do not like or support him), it seems like most people don’t care and he remains popular.

    • GreenieWeenie says:

mmmm….I disagree. I think Kanye was raised pretty middle class. But he’s part of a musical culture that emerged from poverty and oppression. One thing I felt SOC did well was show the cycle of oppression: police oppress black men, angry black men take it out on women….something like that. I’m not a sociologist. You get the point. Actually, as a woman, I could so relate to their anger (e.g. Ice Cube’s) for my own reasons. Maybe I’m too empathetic.

The Trumps of this world, that’s patriarchy, etc. He’s part and parcel with the oppressors.

I see a difference. I don’t salute one and reject the other, but I always felt Snoop had a valid point when he commented that this is how we talk. This is our culture. If you don’t like our culture then why don’t you ask yourselves how it became that way?

      • SloaneY says:

I’m sorry. I don’t care how you grew up. Taking your rage out on “your women” is never acceptable. Never. I don’t know why people excuse this. It’s disgusting.

      • Leah says:

        GreenieWennie

But racism is not an excuse for sexism. And what about black women? They have to endure both racism in the mainstream and sexism in what you call their “culture”. How is that ok?

Furthermore Kanye was raised by an english professor, he is decidedly middle class. This isn’t “his culture”. If Jay Z who WAS raised in the ghetto can make an educated choice to not use the word bitch in his lyrics, then there is no excuse for someone like Kanye.
Its very patriarchal for Kanye to claim he made Taylor. He has said similar stuff about other women including black women. This isn’t an isolated incident.

      • mila says:

        oh please…
i grew up in war zone.
i do not go around raping people or killing them. in fact, i hate wars and i stand for up for victims as much as i can.
you grow up past it. you educate yourself. this guy is middle class but refuses to talk proper English? cos he wants to be one of the boys?

      • Kitten says:

I see where you’re going Greenieweenie but I think Leah’s right here.

This dude has serious issues with women. This isn’t a black thing or a class thing, this is a Kanye thing.

      • Naya says:

This is touchy one for me. I understand why so many black men act like they hate Woman but at the same time, the lack of consciousness about it burns me up. BLM deals with issues that disproportionately affect black men so its mainstreamed into black consciousness. I look forward to seeing black men support issues that disproportionately affect black women from child support to HIV awareness programs to gender based violence programs. Never gonna happen, imo.

      • censored says:

        @Naya /Greenweenie
Understanding why people are the way they are doesn’t always defend that behavior, if you on the outside can see the root of their behavior then so can they and modify accordingly
To me its like saying I know why some people practice racism because they want to keep the power and the resources within their own group so yes I understand the motivation does that excuse the behavior ??????
Inter sectional feminism does NOT excuse the misogyny of black men (cuz poor them racism )
What about the black women caught in the crosshairs of BOTH racism and sexism?
We Really need to stop this

      • Jwoolman says:

Greenieweenie- somebody needs to ask Snoop the other question: why does your culture stay that way? The guys showing such disrespect for women aren’t poor boys scrambling for food. They’re RICH. They’re now the 1%. They’ve traveled all over the world. Why haven’t they changed?

      • Sticks says:

Great discussion all. Censored and Mila – great points! I was nodding my head emphatically in agreement with everything you’re saying. mysogyny is so bloody pervasive that some can’t even see it anymore. Frightening. I used to like Kanye. I just can’t at all. I have zero tolerance for this treatment of women.

      • Naya says:

        @Censored

Need to stop what exactly? Pointing out that theres a disconnect in the community over how issues that primarily affect women are addressed? Would you like us to keep pretending that black women arent statistically more likely to experience domestic violence than any other race? And that the bulk of these assaults are black man on black woman? Or that we are more likely to experience poverty, less likely to obtain higer education, more likely to contract HIV, less likely to access HIV drugs etc. The reason we cant tackle a lot of the issues that predominantly affect black women is that we cant even get them acknowledged in the first place. So there we are waving our BLM flags and not using it as an opportunity to point out the parallels between racist violence and gendered violence. Even addressing racism has taken exclusively male identity. There are very few metrics used to illustrate racism that black women dont rank lower than black men and yet, the argument is always based on the male experience. So no, we will not stop. Maybe you should.

      • censored says:

        @Naya
None of what you have written here validates or justifies the use of the word bitch. In fact none of your earlier posts expressed any concern for BW but poor black men and the oppression that leads to the culture in which bitch is bandied about .In fact what you have written here actually now makes a case against it .Did it ever occur to you that the casual use of the word is apart and parcel of the dehumanization of black women and the lack of empathy for their issues and womanhood,?
Also drawing parallels between guy/gal and bitch ? is just plain disingenuous, they are not the same and you know it , so what exactly you need to stop is this and other specious logic being used to defend this word

      • GreenieWeenie says:

@Jwoolman, the unit of change for this kind of thing is a generation. That’s why we have social constructs like ‘old money’ and ‘new money’.

anyway, I wasn’t so much weighing in on one side or another. I’m just pointing out some complexities. I do think the culture of rap music will continue to change but if you consider its origins, it can’t change that much. It’s the music of the oppressed around the globe. I’m not talking about war (where the cultural mandate is survival). I’m talking about oppression (where the cultural mandate can be reactionary and the mode of expression is anger).

I’m also pointing out the two different origins of misogyny in these contexts: one is the outcome of patriarchy and the other is the outcome of oppression. You aren’t going to ‘solve’ the problem of misogyny within our society/culture if you treat both instances as if their causes were the same.

@mila, I don’t think ‘proper English’ is a concern worth mentioning and definitely not the issue here. You may be interested to know that African American culture was formed in a context where slaves who didn’t speak English were only permitted to learn a little, and African Americans were given little to no access to education until very recent generations. Rap music should reflect this; the overall dynamic speaks to my original point about what is reflected in the culture and why.

    • lilacflowers says:

Yes, please. And where the hell is his wife in this?

      • yolo says:

She’s sitting there silently trying to follow her list of ALL CAPS rules to follow.

      • SloaneY says:

        Taking a selfie?

      • Kate says:

And how is going to explain this to his daughter?

      • Luxe says:

At the doctor’s office for implant maintenance? Purchasing Instagram followers?

      • mila says:

or his boyfriend? bet he made those lyrics to prove he is a man. pathetic little man…

      • Kitten says:

        She’s busy waist-training and dieting.
        Full-time job, y’all!

      • lilacflowers says:

@Kate, he would never explain this to his daughter. He’ll never understand that his daughter will make her own choices in life. He thinks he’ll be the big daddy figure who’ll pick her partners for her and keep the bad guys away and she’ll be forever grateful.

But that wife of his is supposedly an adult now and she dresses up like a clown to attend the debut of a how promoting this crap. What is wrong with her?

      • Lizzie McGuire says:

Is his boyfriend still Riccardo or is it now Olivier? As for Kim K, she’s probably getting a pep talk by Pimp Mama Kris. “It’s okay honey just go & talk to Taylor. Make sure you take a selfie, honey”

    • vauvert says:

Thank you! Said as much above when someone else commented that they are both famehos. It made my blood boil. Is that people hear??? How can they miss the negative, dangerous, repeated message this a**hole sends that any woman he wants is fair game because in his twisted mind he can somehow find a justification that he “owns” her??

    • mila says:

      yet people jump on TS.

I am not her fan, I am in 30s, my music is rnr, but this is beyond my taste in music. This is about pure sexism and nothing else. And to think this “man” had a daughter listening to that… He makes Trump look like a kitty.

      • minx says:

I despise anyone who calls women bitches, I don’t care in what context.

      • Kitten says:

        +1
The fact that people are going so far as to say that Taylor Swift is in on this just shows how much people despise that woman. I mean, talk about tunnel vision.
She doesn’t need the PR and even if she did, I doubt this is how she’d go about getting it.

      • GreenTurtle says:

        Seriously.

      • GreenieWeenie says:

I agree that its sexism but I also think Kanye is just dim.

Also have this theory that the longer you’re a celebrity, the dumber you get. Because you’ve got all these ‘yes people’ around you explaining things away in terms that will pacify you–telling you don’t think too hard, of course everyone loves you! Jelly haters are just jelly, you’re a genius!

That’s how you get things like Kanye seriously entertaining a run for the presidency. And Trump actually doing it.

    • swak says:

He even calls his wife a bitch. I don’t understand how he is gets away with it. He basically calls all women bitches and that’s not okay. Just like him constantly using ni@@er in his songs, not okay.

    • Decorative Item says:

This is very common in the rap/ hip hop community and has been for a very long time. I can’t even remember how long ago it was when Queen Latifah put out a song in retaliation stating’ “I aint yo bitch!” Although there has been some improvement “artists” are not yet getting publicly shamed for this kind of BS and it needs to start.

    • Zwella Ingrid says:

I agree with you Shambles. Calling a woman a b!tch is not ok. It started as a term of derision, and it is still a term of derision.

    • Priya says:

Seriously. I want to believe he’s misunderstood. But he’s just high on himself.

    • ladysussex says:

There is so much misogyny in his lyrics (past and present) and he’s clearly mentally unbalanced. People on here and other websites constantly say these things about him. And yet, his records and his absurd clothing line sell like gangbusters.

  8. ell says:

“Yeah. I know Kanye isn’t anyone’s favorite person… but in his defense, Taylor truly did become a household name that night at the VMAs in 2009.”

…no. the most famous taylor has ever been was after making her last album, and she did all of that by herself.

and it is misogynist, which makes me side with taylor no matter what.

    • Leah says:

I can’t stand Taylors music, I have every Kanye album apart from Yeezy. I am not even interested finding excuses for him anymore. Hes turned me off so much with his misogyny, i can’t with him or his music anymore.Whats worse is that nobody calls him out on it in a serious way.

      • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

      • Stacey says:

Same here. I can’t believe the author of this post and some of the people on here agreeing that he made Taylor famous. She was already famous when he snatched that award from her.

      • Josefina says:

This. I’m tired of people being all “oh but that’s just Kanye”. He’s surrounded by way too many “yes” people who have just built a very isolated bubble around him. He’s a child, he sees past nothing beyond his own interests. He’s not even making good music anymore.

      • I Choose Me says:

        +1000000000000000000

      • Tiffany :) says:

        Agreed!

      • GreenieWeenie says:

Honestly, I thought his Yeezus album was brilliant minus the sexism. I don’t mean that from a musical perspective (I have zero capacity to judge). But it was intelligent (sampling Strange Fruit? Yes!) and the anger was bang on, so appropriate for the time. It didn’t get a ton of radio play, but it was–or it could have been, moreso than anything else recently–real social commentary.

That said, I’m never comfortable with the misogyny either and I’m not a Kanye apologist. Just think we can dislike his lyrics/him without pretending his music is irrelevant. I think Yeezus was a culturally important album (and I can’t say that about 1989. But if you read the critical reception of Yeezus, he gets slammed for his sexism and +100 to that). And I think his “Bush hates black people” moment was right on the money.

Other than that, he seems like the annoying person in the crowd that you tolerate but everyone is internally irritated by. Maybe he’ll get so much pushback from this that he’ll actually grow up for the next album.

    • Sissy says:

It’s beyond gross to say that Taylor Swift is part of this. Kanye is an utter pig who needs no encouragement to spew contempt toward women.

    • Diana B says:

Yeah, that was surprising to read here. Taylor was already insanely popular and I dare say more so than Kanye back in 2009, since she was already quite pop and he was just a rapper. So No, He DID NOT make her a household name. She did that all by herself.

    • BB says:

I’m not a fan of country music at all, and I knew of Taylor Swift before that VMAs. I got married that year and I remember her “she wears short shorts, I wear t-shirts, she’s cheer captain and I’m on the bleachers” song because I heard it 100 times on my honeymoon. I think it’s unfair to say he made her famous.

  9. Hana says:

It’s gross what you’ve written about Taylor. Not sure how someone inadvertently benefiting from another person being a jackass makes the jackassery okay. The lyric about having sex with Taylor? Gag.

    • Kate says:

Well she didn’t inadvertently benefit, she purposefully made that incident a huge part of her public persona for years. She was still milking it last year.

      She totally ran with it.

      • Tiffany :) says:

You can’t say she “she purposefully made that incident a huge part of her public persona” when she didn’t plan for the event to happen. It happened to her, and she dealt with it in the public realm because it happened in public in front of millions of people. She had no choice but to deal with it in public.

It was a part of her “public persona” the minute it happened, because it happened in front of so many people.

  10. Cate says:

Just wondering when Calvin is going to come to the rescue

    • InvaderTak says:

Never. Her brother did though. What’s calivin going to do? (Heres where I’d have a dj joke but its too early so I got nothing)

    • vauvert says:

Why would her boyfriend “come to the rescue” of a woman in this day and age, particularly when said woman is an independent, wealthy, successful star? How can we demand respect if we need saving? That idea is about as bad as Kanye’s idea that he “owns” women because he made them famous.

      • FingerBinger says:

You’re missing the point. He’s come to her rescue before. He’s gotten into twitter fights over Taylor. It’s been discussed here. She doesn’t need rescuing but he thinks she does.

      • Josefina says:

        @FingerBinger
And let’s not act like Taylor doesn’t love it when he does that. Calvin’s her knight and mean tweets are his lance.

      • Kitten says:

Lol I love how people are blaming her for something that hasn’t even happened yet.

  11. Louise177 says:

I do agree that Kanye did make Taylor famous. She was popular but she became a big name because of controversy. She’s going to play this up. She did it for years so why change now.

  12. grabbyhands says:

Agree with your final thoughts-he’s doing it to wring as much advance publicity for his new album as possible, and she’ll use this get as much sympathy and attention as she can going into the Grammys.

Had to edit-I do agree that what he wrote was particularly gross and offensive. Musicians confident in their product don’t need to stoop to this level. And while I in no way condone what he said, I have a feeling that most of that is going over her head and all she is hearing “someone said something mean about me, I think, ummm…..squad goals, empowerment,…umm, feminism. SUPPORT ME!”. Because she is only concerned about her special brand of white privilege “feminism” that really only means that no one is allowed to say anything bad about her, not the actual hard work of standing up for ALL women. I guess I’m saying that at the end of the day, they’re both still assholes because it isn’t like she’s going to get up and say “No musician should be talking about any woman like this”.

    • serena says:

Are you seriously saying that? So just because she’s not standing up for all women and she’s privileged she’s on the same level of Kanye that uses slurs against women ALL THE TIME??
She may be whatever you want (not a fan of her myself), but that doesn’t mean he gets to say that.
      I hope you were kidding.

  13. Farah says:

Kanye DID NOT make Taylor famous. Her album fearless was released in 2008. It debuted with 500k in the first week at a point were music sales were the lowest. By the 09 VMAS, she already released two of her biggest singles Lovestory and You Belong with Me. Fearless had sold 3 million copies worldwide in LESS THAN A YEAR. She won the fan voted award over Beyonce, when that was Beyonce’s commercial pop peak.

It’s gross to make him the reason why she’s famous, when she was plenty accomplish on her own before him.

    • Jaded says:

Thank you Farah – she came to Toronto in 2009 and I could not BELIEVE the crowd she drew at the Roger’s Centre (huge place). The streets were thronged with her fans. Kanye most emphatically did NOT “make” Taylor Swift, and she did not “milk” the mic-grabbing incident, she acted with aplomb but was as justifiably outraged as anyone would be who had their special moment tarnished by an out-of-control, self-obsessed jerk who thinks he’s God.

    • Kitten says:

I don’t know anything about the particulars of Swift’s career but you seem to know what you’re talking about so I’m gonna +1 your comment, especially your last sentence.

    • Julie says:

I agree. Kanye did not make Taylor famous. She was already established. He only made her famous to people who listen to hip hop and nothing else. He actually made himself more famous with that stunt.

    • Kate says:

Kanye didn’t have anything to do with making Taylor a household name. She was well on her way all by herself. My two daughters are right smack in the middle of Taylor’s demographic and they never knew a thing about Kanye’s VMA stunt. They were big fans before and are big fans now. They know who Kanye is and that’s he’s part of the Kardashian train wreck. In their world, the Kardashians made Kanye, so suck on that Yeezus.

    • Saks says:

This! And he didn’t took her out of the country scene to world, she was going to be a superstar anyway.
Country music is not popular in my country but by 2009 everyone knew who Taylor was and her music was air in our radio stations. It always felt more of an ad for Beyoncé, because she came as the “nice” person who gave Taylor time to talk, sadly for her, her good act wasn’t remembered as Kanye’s act.

Also, his lyrics are nauseating. I don’t like Kim but girl needs to respect herself, if my bf called me “his b**ch”, that would be the last time he’d ever saw me and have all of his teeth.

      • K says:

That is right Beyoncé won something that year and she gave up her speech so Taylor could give hers! That’s always forgotten. Which is sad because what should be remembered about that night was Taylor handled Kayne with grace and then went and performed and when Beyoncé could have taken her prize that she rightfully earned she showed endless class and grace and allowed the person diminished an opportunity to speak.

Three people caught up in that man’s drunken mess and two showed grace, elegance, class and it wasn’t the man who caused it!

    • Stacey says:

Best post on this thread. Thank you for this.

    • Tiffany :) says:

I’m just going to add that her first week in Nov. of 2008, it sold 592,000 copies, which is almost 600k. It was the best selling album of 2009, selling 5.2 million copies that year alone. I think the total sales are 9.5 million worldwide.

  14. yolo says:

Faux beef or not, Kanye has been on quite a roll lately, tossing out all kinds of gems of insult. He’s three for three with the foot in mouth syndrome. Can you even imagine dealing with him around the clock!?

    • Kate says:

No way. I don’t like the kardashians at all but knowing Kim has to deal with his crazy and wrath and erratic behavior makes me feel for her. She used to be somewhat likable in a goofy friend kind of way but he seems to have squashed all of that.

      • swak says:

She’s a grown woman and can tell her hubby to knock it off. She knew what he is like when she married him. No sympathy from me.

      • Lizzie McGuire says:

Well they don’t live together so Kim K doesn’t really deal with him unless for social events & photo ops. Kanye was said before he likes staying in Paris & Kim K stays with Pimp Mama Kris.

  15. choco says:

How did kanye make taylor famous, when Taylor’s worst selling album outsells kanye’s best bestseller??? He needs to make himself.

  16. Lin says:

I disagree with you thinking Taylor became a household name that night. She was up there winning an award over Beyoncé for godsakes(even if she didn’t deserve it). It was a big deal already. She had a number one album which opened with 500k first week at that time something which Kanye had yet to achieve even till now and I doubt he will ever. She was well known. just not as thirsty as she is now. An unknown does not win an award over Beyoncé. It’s just like thinking Beck is unknown. Not thirsty but definitely not unknown. If Taylor approved those lyrics, I’m never buying any thing she puts out (not like she needs me to anyway).
This guy is truly shameless. Taylor was a teenage when this happened and this is honestly something a rapist will say. How does Kim feel about all these. How does she take the disrespect. Beyoncé, Amber now Taylor Swift. I hope no one huts this piece of trash. She needs to cut her losses and run this very moment

  17. Fa says:

She was already selling more albums than him at that time

  18. Ava says:

Must be tough to be the wife of someone who raps about having sex with other famous women

  19. The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Taylor Swift isn’t my favorite person but her lowest selling album has done better than Kanye’s best selling album. This twisted idea that he somehow did her favor by rushing the stage or that she somehow deserved it is bizarre.

Neither of the above. Taylor made the best of it PR wise because what else was she supposed to do? She got humiliated by an adult man basically saying her music was a joke and she was left on stage to deal with that.

But after what happened with Amber Rose I’m not sure why we’re even pretending this is about beef. It’s about Kanye’s anger, his hostility towards women, and his use of sex as a form of control and power.

    • ell says:

“But after what happened with Amber Rose I’m not sure why we’re even pretending this is about beef. It’s about Kanye’s anger, his hostility towards women, and his use of sex as a form of control and power.”

exactly. this isn’t ‘hahah kanye is throwing a tantrum how funny’ anymore. what’s coming to the surface is that he’s truly misogynist to a very uncomfortable level, i don’t even know how some just brush it off as pr. even it it were just pr, it’s truly despicable and not something that should be ignored.

    • Kitten says:

      Yes yes and YES.

Also, this is why I’ll always have respect for Amber, even when I don’t always agree with what she says or does. She shut his ass down. He’s been so f*cking disrespectful to her and she’s been more patient, polite and understanding than he deserves.

      • serena says:

        +1 totally agree!

      • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

        Exactly

Kanye: “I own you. I had sex with you. You’re nothing but a stripper. You’re less than Kim. You – ”

Amber: “Youwant to talk about sex? Why don’t you find someone to massage your prostate and leave me alone?”

        Kanye: *circkets chirp*

      • Stacey says:

Notice how quickly he backtracked and deleted his tweets after Amber owned him completely on Twitter. She utterly embarrassed him and I was rooting for her all the way. He’s a bully who picks on people and then when they defend themselves he pouts and claims he’s a victim.

    • serena says:

      +100

    • Lizzie McGuire says:

Completely 100% agree, but now I’m curious how Jay Z & Beyonce will deal with him. He’s part of Tidal, makes collaborations with both of them & Rihanna, he helped produced Rihanna’s Anti, etc. Beyonce’s Formation is all about female empowerment but having someone from her side talk like that to women, can raise a few questions. So now do they cut him off? or do they pretend not to listen? Also T. Swift may ask for his head in a platter, & Bey Z are tight with her. I’m just extremely curious how it all goes & if Kanye is really burning all of his bridges.

    • Marty says:

Maybe since he came after Taylor this time with his misogynistic BS people will actually care. I’m talking mainstream, not just on here.

    • I Choose Me says:

      NAILED IT! As per usual.

    • Tiffany :) says:

      Totally agree, well written!!

  20. Mia4s says:

Never spent a dime on Mr. Kardashian and I never will. He’s trash. I don’t like Swift’s music much but she’s got this round.

Honestly I get that art is about free expression but considering how so much of rap/hip hop comes across as unwelcoming to and sometimes straight up anti women? I’ve never gotten it and I guess I never will.

    • dagdag says:

I am replying to you, not because I think your statement is in favour of Kanye. It is about the expression of art, of artist, Kanye the genius of music.

“For all my Southside n—-s who will know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why, I made that bitch famous / God damn / I made that bitch famous.” is vulgar, ugly, hostile and shows a total lack of respect to a woman and an artist. His wording should never be called lyrics, it is trash.

    • Anne says:

good point. When I was young and first exploring music, I was incredibly put off by the blatant misogyny I came across in rap music. It made me feel sick and it changed – forever – the way I viewed the men (and women) I met who listened regularly to and celebrated those particular artists & albums.

      There is a tradition here.

  21. CornyBlue says:

doubt this will impact Kanye but what a horrible thing to do to her.

  22. cannibell says:

Wonder if this will turn into some 10,000-year feud, with Kanye and Taylor’s descendants keeping it going long after the original incident has been forgotten.

  23. Aarika says:

Well, he didn’t lie. And the girl squad is in turmoil, while Gigi is saying she is loyal and doesn’t approve of what’s being said of her Queen, Karlie Kloss on the other hand proudly showed her Yeezys on Instagram. I think Karlie and Taylor are dunzo.

  24. magda says:

I don’t like Taylor Swift but Kanye is pathetic. Yes, she used 2009 incident for her own career, and kudos for her for that, she didn’t ask for this free publicity, but was smart enough to milk it. Off all Taylor things, I can’t hold against her the fact, that is was able to use unwanted situation with this clown to her own benefit.

  25. OSTONE says:

As much as we all are sick of Taylor, let’s not rewrite history. Taylor was already famous before Kanye at the VMAs, he did not make her famous. If she went to the next level it was with 1989 and Kanye had NOTHING to do with it. I liked Kanye, done with him now. Goodbye, Fishsticks.

  26. Paolanqar says:

Gigi made a statement. Swifty’S brother threw Kanye horrible shoes’ in the trash.
Swifty’s hanger on Jamie king made a statement. Mario Lopez made a statement. Z lister are horrified!!!
Oh my god this is getting so juicy I need popcorns!!
Can you imagine the Kardashians be embarrassed for something??
This is the end! It’s finally the end,!
Kanye is digging the grave deep enough for everyone involved in that family!
    *pops a bottle of champagne*
He needs to get back on meds. He’s not ok.

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

I said it in my last post and I’ll say it again here. Before Kanye the Kardashians had the nice safe manufactured drama that still made them look strong.

With him their drama has taken on the risk of actually losing money and fans. Kim can’t smile vacantly and pose when she’s being asked if her husband really wants to have sex with Taylor Swift. It’s no fun to be related to Yeezy if you have to say on record whether Bill Cosby raped those women.

Kanye is killing their vibe and natural money-making machine to be as shallow and inoffensive as possible. I’m not saying it’s the end but I do think some moves will be happening soon to keep the Good Ship Kardashian from sinking, even if they have to drop the life boat called Kanye.

      • paolanqar says:

I’m sure Kris will start the engine and throw him overboard.
You watch, I give it 6 months.

      • Kitten says:

        Yeah that’s true.
The question is why would PMK add a wild card to her deck?
It almost seems like they had him under control in the beginning but he managed to pick the lock on his handcuffs and now all hell has broken loose. But any fan (or former fan) of Kanye saw this coming–it was inevitable because Kanye can’t keep quiet for long.

It’ll be interesting to see how PMK handles this next round of what will surely be damage control.

      • kri says:

ESE, you summed it all up perfectly.

      • Lizzie McGuire says:

Well Kanye was Kanye, he had good record sales & everyone was kissing his ass. Kanye was friends with many fashion designers, Beyonce & Jay Z were tight with him & did collaborations, so Pimp Mama Kris saw an opportunity to elevate her whole family’s status. Kanye was going to expose them to a different world & the Kardashians will be more respected & he kinda did. Before that Kim wouldn’t get the same treatment from fashion designers & Anna Wintour & now the whole family is wearing Balmain & Givenchy.

What’s interesting is like you said he’s a wild card, they’ll defend for whatever insignificant thing he would say. But now it’s like he’s on a roll, insulting people left & right. Wiz/Amber Rose twitter feud, Bill Cosby support tweet, & now the disgusting lyrics to his new “song”. I commented before about Beyonce & Jay Z’s take on this issue & if they’ll cut him off or not. PMK definitely has to rethink her whole plan again.

      • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

I’d dare say Beyonce and Jay as cut him off a while ago. Doesn’t get more done than not going to his wedding or appearing anywhere near him recently. You know who I’m curious to see how long they last with him?

        John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.

John because Kanye’s been his friend for a while and he’s tried to diplomatically stay loyal, and Chrissy because she is pretty outspoken and stuff like this usually pisses her off. I think at a certain point it just gets overwhelming trying to deal with his nonsense.

        @Kitten

Anyone with two eyes knew THIS was coming, but we all know PimpMama had her eyes surgically replaced with dollar signs years ago.

      • lucy2 says:

Kitten, I think PMK saw him as a legit celebrity who would bring ratings, contacts, money, and plenty of drama for attention.
I’d believe from the moment he and Kim got together, Kris started compiling the case against him for whenever they split. This whole debacle will give her a ton of ammunition to make him the out of control villain and Kim the poor victim. Not that he needs much help in that regard.
I wonder if Lamar realizes how badly they trashed him.

      • Ennie says:

…if they (notice how I am not saying “Kim”)…
If they dump Kanye, they will be dumping not only him, but also invitations to the MET gala, Vogue, via Anna Wintour, etc.
By themselves, the only one remotely legitimate, is Kendall and her modeling job. All the other sisters are just reality “stars” and make money by being instagram models thanks to their followers, and getting paid in twitter, too.
Their reality show and app and social media success lies on the story lines they create for themselves, losing Kanye would be somewhat of a blow.
Getting Dimmy a divorce would mean to create romantic story lines for her. Kourtney has already “been” with Justin Biebeer, who are they going to pair her with? And the epitome would be her fourth marriage!
I think they all hang on to Kanye longer than we think. This Kartrashian thing will not be over soon.
I am at a loss of words of the allowing the image of the elder Robert on a t-shirt, as well as the face of Kanye’s mother. That’s a new level of WTF.

  27. The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Also but no seriously can we talk about Kanye’s twisted perception of sex?

If I was Kim I’d be feeling very threatened. In a very short amount of time her husband basically reveals that he feels he ‘makes’ women by giving them attention and in some way sex will naturally come from that.

…as someone who tries to put on this image of a classy woman with a happy marriage how does she and Pimp Mama spin that? Because if Kanye THINKS he did Taylor a favor and that’ll somehow lead to sex what does it say about their entire marriage? Same with him attacking Amber Rose and saying he owns her child? Does he basically just think he owns Kim and is keeping it cordial because she’s willingly giving it up?

What happens when she’s not giving it up anymore?

    • NewWester says:

Pimp Mama Kris aka “Demon Mother” is just waiting for the right moment to tell Kim to end the marriage. Everything that has happened lately has really made Kayne look like an idiot( he is his worst enemy) Amber dust up, Kylie/Puma mess and now this.
It is all more attention for this family and future storyline for their show. Just watch you will start to hear stories of Kimye fighting, him staying more in Paris, etc.

    • Zwella Ingrid says:

The whole idea of a man “owning a woman” makes me very angry. The imagery is of a caveman dragging a woman by the hair into his cave for sex. Kanye doesn’t “own” anyone.

  28. Eve says:

People need to seriously stop encouraging this utter fool now by calling him a ‘music genius’ and buying his and his wives crap. This guy is really taking the piss now and his idiotic fans are only making it worse and all for the sake of fueling his ego and fame even more. I liked some of KW songs in the past but most of his songs are nothing but moronic crap with sh@t ingnorant lyrics and maybe a decent beat. Genuis my a$$, his is nothing but a untalented fool and I am not Taylor Swift fan but that idiot KW can kiss her prettier, much taller, more richer and much more successful a$$!

Sorry for the rant but KW is a prime example of how disgusting it is to let these uneducated ‘stars’ influence our society with their sexist, racist and homophobic views.

  29. Rachel says:

I do find it slightly less sympathetic to Taylor that she has publicly shown support for misogynistic hip-hop and rap beforehand without calling it out. She brought Fetty Wap on-stage as a ‘special guest’ during the 1989 tour and happily sang along to ‘Trap Queen’ with him, which has joyful lyrics like ‘I’ll run in ya house, then I’ll f*ck your ho’.

Kanye’s an ass, but would Taylor have called him out on misogyny if it hadn’t directly referenced her?

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

This is one of those rare situations where I think both sides are jerks (Taylor Swift and her version of Pro Me Feminism vs. Kanye West and his rage fits) but I do agree this is less about misogyny and more about him insulting her.

That being said wrong is wrong and just like when he rushed onto the stage in ’09 this is another drama Kanye brought on himself. Saying these lyrics about her are WRONG.

    • Fran says:

She would not have. Not saying that makes his disgusting comments okay, but she would’ve happily played her role in their friendship pr parade if he released the same lyric with a different female singer’s name. But her tunnel vision of “feminism” is that if someone she’s friendly with comes at her, its WW3. If someone she’s friendly with comes at someone else with misogyny or sexism, not her problem.

    • Leah says:

I agree with you Rachel. However for most people outside of her fanbase this is less about Taylor and more about Kanye and his consistently sexists ways.

    • Josefina says:

This. Taylor has all the right to be offended by this, but I hate how she always turns it about sexism. Kanye IS being sexist, but he’s always been and she noticed now? This is not his first sexist lyric. Heck, it’s not even the most sexist one.

  30. Hannah says:

His lyrics are a joke at this point. He also has lyrics about him and ray j hitting the same” bitch”. He’s just gross.

  31. Brea says:

I would say that Taylor was definitely famous before Kanye, but the incident gave her an unprecedented level of simpathy even outside of the US. That said we all know that Kanye is a misogynistic jackass but the statement of Taylor’s PR is all kind of messy. So Taylor knew about the content of the song but didn’t know the exact lyrics? How did she know that the song was misogynistic otherwise?

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Knowing Kanye he probably openly told her what the song was about sans lyrics. He’s crazy enough to defend Tyga, he’s crazy enough to tell Taylor about saying they could still have sex on a song.

    • Saks says:

He might had accelerated it, but she was heading to stardom anyway. As I said above, by 2009 she was not just known in the country world or in the U.S., e.g. country music is not popular at all in my country but her music was already aired in pop radio stations and even my young cousins knew and liked her by then. And as someone else pointed out, I don’t mind the fact that Taylor milked such a humiliating event for her.

  32. Fran says:

Now this would have been an appropriate inspiration for bad blood.

  33. Tate says:

    He is just disgusting.

  34. Sitka says:

To be fair to Taylor; if you were in that situation in 2009 would you not use it to your advantage? If I was her I probably would have crumbled from it; but she rose from it. And would anyone suggesting that his lyrics are ok because she’s getting publicity out of it be happy with it if it was about them? To have someone that famous rapping about how he ‘made’ you; to imply he will have sex with you yet. That song won’t be erased – it’s out there, and everyone knows who he is talking about. Never mind how he has treated his wife implying how he is going to have sex with someone else.
He needs someone to come in and do to him what he has no problem doing to anyone else and be publicly embarrassed. Although looking at what he considers ‘designs’ maybe he has no issues being publicly embarrassed.

    • Josefina says:

Thanks you. Even if Taylor benefitted from it, Kanye was a HUGE tool. She has to thank her PR team, not Kanye.

  35. Armenthrowup says:

He is disgusting, misogynistic and a tool. She is a mean girl. I wish both of them would eff off and take their minimal talent with them **calms self**

The bigger story should be that in 2016 men still think they can get away with calling women ‘bitches’. You have a daughter, Kanye. I hope a man never treats her like you talk about women. Scumbag.

    • Anne says:

Let me try to understand the advantage to him of putting her down. It’s an ego thing, right? He’s just so focused on making himself look powerful, on celebrating his own ego, that he can’t see beyond that – right? He doesn’t know better, right? He thinks these lyrics are a “win.”

How can arrogance make someone so blind?

  36. The Original Mia says:

What is it with this man and his rampant misogyny? Kim has to know if he says this stuff about his “friends” that he will drag her and her family to hell and back if they ever break up.

  37. Elisabeth says:

i wonder how Kanye would feel is some rapper said these things about his daughter?

    • Jackson says:

Exactly. It’s always fine and dandy when someone else’s daughter is the bitch, the whore, the one they’re going to fuk and write songs about. Sure. But don’t ever say anything about their own daughter because yeah, somehow that is totally different. Ugh.

  38. Hannah says:

He’s so gross and delusional. Seriously how can anyone Stan him? They need help just like him.

  39. Crumpet says:

What a colossal ass! He is married and has a daughter – there is no excuse for the lyrics. None. I rarely hate anyone because it is a complete waste of my emotional energy, but I just may hate on him for the rest of the day. Grrrr!

  40. Donna says:

Taylor was already super famous before the (first) incident with Kanye. I’m a music teacher in Canada, and every single one of my vocal students was singing “Love Story” and “You Belong with me” among others of her songs before that happened and were insane for Taylor’s music. Taylor Swift is one of the few artists that has “clean” music suitable for young girls to be singing. You don’t know how many of them have wanted to do songs like Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” (I was appalled at the lyrics in that one!) or Katy Perry’s music like Teenage Dream (I don’t know about you, but a 13 yr old girl singing about having some guy’s hands all over her jeans is not my idea of something I want to see/hear.) Parents do not want their children singing these songs, it’s not just me censoring for the sake of censoring. I have to really look at the lyrics of everything they want to sing, because seriously, the parents have no idea half the time what these kids are singing or listening to. Hopefully the kids don’t either, but there’s still no need for them to be singing/exposed to some of this trash. Some of the kids are under the age of 10.
Taylor is one of the artists I would say is a decent example or a role model for kids to look up to. Yeah, she was a serial dater for a while there, but at least (so far) there’s no sex tapes of her being peed on, and she seems to realize she’s a role model for these kids.
And yes, she’s gotten famous on her own. The Kanye incident certainly brought more attention to her, but she was already very famous on her own and would have continued to be without his intervention.

    • Jwoolman says:

That’s why the Kids Bop series has been so popular. It fills a real need, taking current songs, cleaning up the lyrics, and setting it in a kid-friendly key so the kids can sing along.

  41. MzThunderthighs says:

Smh. So much Taylor hate has some of us rewriting history. Damn. Kanye West did NOT make Taylor famous. She was already famous on her own right. Did she capitalize on what he did? Hell yeah. I’d have done the same thing too if I was her.

  42. perplexed says:

I think the line where he says he’s having sex with her is weirder than the one where he says he made her famous. I don’t really get it (assuming a joke is supposed to be involved)…

  43. Kitten says:

This is why I’m terrified of mama’s boys.

    • Shambles says:

Dude. The last guy I dated was a serious mama’s boy. He manipulated the sh!t out of me, had me in a depressive funk that I wasn’t even aware of until afterword, tried to make me into the pseudo-mother to his ex girlfriend’s child that wasn’t even biologically his (I was only 20 at the time), and was cheating on me the entire time.

      Stay. Awaaaay.

    • The Original Mia says:

Some are okay, but then there are the ones like this asshat.

    • Kitten says:

@ Shambles-Yup. That’s pretty much my nightmare. Glad you got out of that toxic sh*t.

@The Original Mia-Respecting and loving one’s mom is important for me, but the beatification, the putting her up on a pedestal as some sort of infallible symbol of the perfect woman is what terrifies me. I don’t think it’s healthy to look at anyone that way, though.

      • The Original Mia says:

Oh, I agree with you. Those that idolize their mother to an unhealthy degree are scary. I knew one guy who would go postal if someone said son of a bitch. He considered it a slur against his mother. I saw him choke a girl because she drunkenly called him one. It took a few of us pulling at his hands to get him to let her go. He saw nothing wrong with his reaction, while the rest of us were scared senseless.

  44. One2 says:

He’s an asshat misogynist!! This was rude and disrepectful. My only problem is why are people so outraged at him saying what he’s said about TS but when he called Amber Rose everything but a child of god and brought up her son, people were radio silent? He needs to go away and take the Kardashians with him. Countdown to Taylor writing Bad Blood 2: 2 Bad 2 Bloody. Thr grammys will be eventful expect the “squad” in full force

    • Kitten says:

I’m not sure if you meant that as an observation about the general public or…? Because people weren’t “radio silent” around here at all. Almost everyone came out Team Amber on that one.

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

      “Bloody to the Bone.”

  45. Grant says:

Please. Kanye did NOT make Taylor Swift a household name. She had already crossed over from country to pop by that point–hence the reason she was nominated for VMAs. Everyone knew who she was already.

  46. mkyarwood says:

I loved a lot of rap and hip hop growing up, singing ‘bitches and hoes’ lyrics with glee when I still believed that’s all I was. I have daughters now. I prefer Miley Cyrus and her takeover of masturbation showmanship than having to hear one more ‘song’ calling a woman a bitch. I do still love the message, the heart of hip hop, where it comes from. I believe it’s truly social justice music, but I’m so sick of the throw away lyrics.

  47. Irene says:

“..but in his defense, Taylor truly did become a household name that night at the VMAs in 2009…”

Seriously? I mean, she had the top-selling album that year. She was on stage trying to accept an award. So clearly she was doing all right for herself without Kanye’s help.

    • Jayna says:

I agree. In 2009 when the VMA fiasco happened, she was already huge with that 2008 album, seven times platinum. That’s massive. It’s why she was winning awards for it at the VMAs.

And it was country music/pop young teenage/young adult fans anyway. What does Kanye have to do with the trajectory of her career? He was a grown man in the hip-hop world. Seven times platinum, she was everywhere where it mattered, her fanbase and country music. Big deal that Kanye put her name out there for his bad behavior. That still had nothing to do with her success that she created already off of that album and her popularity.

So, sure, it was a lot of publicity, but it didn’t make her career.

    • Farhi says:

Agree. I barely listen to modern pop music but even I knew who Taylor Swift was back when the incident happened.

    • Josefina says:

Definitely. I cant say it wasnt good for her PR, but she was already popular back then.

  48. Jackson says:

Sorry, but I don’t think Kanye has a defense in this. TS was popular enough to win whatever that award was that night. And while I don’t listen to country music, I already knew who she was. KW gets no ‘in his defense’ pass from me.

  49. Jayna says:

Kanye is on a tweeting rampage, whew, saying Taylor knew about it and came up with the line basically that he made her.

Then he said “bitch” is a term of endearment in the hip-hop community like the word n…a is. So “that bitch” is a term of endearment? LOL

  50. jane berk says:

Kanye is mentally ill-narcissism plus a variety of other psychoses etc. Money enables his behavior. He’s a low-end guy-a perfect example of the lowest common denominator in speech and behavior. His wife reminds us of a blow-up cartoon doll-appalling in her choice to be naked in public -she’s just a trashy pig. No dignity, no respect for herself.
They’ve succeeded in embarrassing us as a country when they travel abroad. The youngest daughter is 18 (name?) Said her goal for this year was to “realize stuff”. The girl needs an education. I rest my case.

  51. Rache says:

Umm she was already famous before the VMA incident. if anything, that incident helped him more then her. Taylor is a far bigger star then him before and after. Nobody knows who he is except Americans.
He is a disgusting pig and I don’t get why so many here sympathize with him. This idiot wants to run for President in 2020 and people think he will be a good candidate? Just look at the way he even treats his ex Amber.
He is worse then Donald Trump. The kind of filth and crass is throwing at her is disgusting. Not even Trump is as idiotic and as brain dead stupid as this moron.
Also the fact that he supports pedophiles and rapists speaks volumes for him. Can we have him blacklisted for his Cosby support just like how all the white celebs who signed the Polanski Petition got blacklisted?

    • Josefina says:

Kanye is not ill. He’s just a douchebag surrounded by people who applaud his behavior.

      Edit: Sorry, wrong reply.

  52. Rockin Robin says:

I am so tiredof his antics. He is exhausting.

  53. lucy says:

Well, no one will ever tweet that he or she made Kanye West smart.

  54. lucy says:

If I were to revise my prior comment per Kanye’s low standards:
No one will ever tweet that he or she made THAT WASTE OF SPACE Kanye West smart.

[alternate word choices: LOSER, ***HOLE, CRYBABY]

  55. Hannah says:

He’s now ranting at Taylor on Twitter. 15 tweets about this. This juvenile little man is so pathetic.

  56. Colette says:

So people are outraged because Kanye called Taylor a bitch and NOW they are throwing away their Yeezy shoes.Where was the outrage the other times he called women “bitches” in dozens of songs,”That’s my Bitch” “Perfect Bitch”,etc

    • Farhi says:

I posted the same down trend. And it is not only in his songs. It seems to be a standard way of referring to a woman in rap and hip-hop.

    • BB says:

I’m disturbed he refers to his own wife as “my bitch.” I do not find that endearing in any way.

  57. buzz says:

The original and the only wrong-doer here is Kanye.

  58. K says:

Kayne is a pathetic sexist masoginistic troll.

    1. He has a daughter would he really be ok with a man or anyone reducing her to nothing which he did here with Taylor and kim?

    2. He did not make Taylor Swift famous or a house hold name. Remember that night he charged the stage Taylor BEAT BEYONCÉ!! You don’t do that if your no one.

    3. A man taking credit for a woman’s success because he disrespected and degraded her is appalling and then to say he should get to sleep with her as a result. You can like or hate Taylor swift and know that is wrong.

Taylor, Beyoncé, Adele, Niki, Katy etc love them or hate them doesn’t matter no man made them famous they earned what they have and should be given respect and not spoken about jn derogatory terms! No woman should.

No one should have to be disrespected, degraded or diminished by a man. I don’t care what the man feels or is going through it is unacceptable if you’re a man you treat women with respect just like if your a woman you treat men with respect. And you are a human you treat humans with respect.

The golden rule isn’t hard to follow. Sorry not sorry.

Kayne is disgusting and a joke. He also knows he’s lost it, he needs Taylor, Amber and he is trolling for attention. PATHETIC!!

  59. Giddy says:

Kanye is such a hypocrite. He is rude, sexist, mysogynistic, sings vile lyrics, designs ugly and depressing clothes. He shows no respect to anyone, especially his wife. Yet he has absolute meltdowns when he feels disrespected. He demands to be seen as a genius, as a god, but doesn’t show common decency to others. His legendary temper tantrums make him look even more foolish; ranting and raving about how he’s been mistreated or misunderstood, while still insulting the rest of humanity.

  60. NGBoston says:

As one of the first posters pointed out- obviously a planned PR stunt to try and move sales of this new disaster LWOP.

The music and genius is no longer able to make money on its own.

Some of the Yeezy sneakers are not bad (a friend owns a pair says very comfortable) but overpriced to the max.

Kanye-even with the flying Pegasus as a tribute to your late Mum ( no disrespect intended). but place your over hyped and overated ass upon it and exit the atmosphere soonest.

  61. Farhi says:

The b*tch word (and much worse) is all over the rap and hip-hop lyrics. I cannot accept them for that reason.
Why people didn’t find it offensive before, like in the Beyoncé’s song from SuperBowl, but when it is applied to Swift it is offensive? Isn’t it always offensive?

    • K says:

The word bitch is not the truly offensive part, it’s not great but it doesn’t bother me that much. What offends me is that he takes ownership and claim for her accomplishments, he diminishes what she did and said its only because of him and due to that she should have sex with him!! It’s horrifying. Calling her a bitch is wrong but honestly it’s the least offensive thing he did.

  62. marymoon says:

So … Ray J might still have sex with Kim, after all he made her famous, right?
Kanye is too stupid for words. He has children now, a daughter. Vile pig.
He’s so self-centered he can’t see past the end of his own nose.

  63. Umila says:

I was going to comment a lot more on Yeezy and his narcissistic tendencies, but then my eye got snagged on the ad for Outlander at the bottom of the page. Caitriona Balfe’s boobs look weird. They’ve looked weird throughout the series and they just aren’t made for historical costumes. I have small boobs too so I understand how corsets can flatten shallow chests further….Yeezy could probably improve upon this issue too. He is, after all, a genius.

  64. me says:

Ray-J needs to put out a song called “I made your b*tch famous”. Please do it.

  65. Tara says:

Are all his lyrics this stupid?

  66. msw says:

I barely knew who Kanye was before Taylor Swift, whereas Taylor was well established as a household name at that point. I don’t listen to music from this century, I was not a pop culture or tween culture follower, I didn’t even live in America–and I knew who she was.

Three Kanye posts in a day. Trolling works.

    • me says:

Yeah exactly, trolling works and he learned how to do it from the Kardashians. It’s the number one way to always stay in the news.

    • Susie 1of 3 says:

I didn’t know who he was while watching the Taylor Swift incident at the awards. I made a point to look up his name the next day to be sure to never waste money on a disrespectful idiot. He’s proven himself one since then over and over again. Hope he takes the Kardashians, who looked like they were dressed for Halloween at his fashion show, down with him.

  67. me says:

    1. Kanye is the musical guest on SNL this weekend. The ratings will be higher now that we all want to know what b.s. he’s going to spit out of his mouth and whether or not his Kult will make an appearance.

    2. Taylor Swift is the opening act of the Grammy’s. More people will tune in now to see if she mentions Kanye at all or some shade.

    3. When Kanye and Wiz beefed last week, it was interesting to note both of them have new albums out. Wiz’s already came out, Kanye’s came out yesterday. The added attention didn’t hurt them.

    4. Money is the target for all of them, we are the ones making them rich by falling for their schemes.

“2. Taylor Swift is the opening act of the Grammy’s. More people will tune in now to see if she mentions Kanye at all or some shade.”

That not true because that’s not Taylor’s style. She hide behind her PR team, written interviews or songs. So no one is going to tune in to watch Taylor at the Grammys in hope of a response. As for Kayen and Wiz albums coming out, the added attention didn’t help ether.

      • me says:

Taylor is the Queen of subtle shade. All her songs are about someone who “did her wrong”…so who knows, she may changed a lyric or two for the Grammy’s.

The Wiz and Kanye beef helped Kanye more than Wiz. To be honest, I didnt’ know either of them had an album coming out until that twitter beef happened. So yeah, I say it helped more than hurt.

      • Flowerchild says:

I agree, but most of her shade songs took months to years for and team to come up with. Taylor just not quick enough to make changes in a song by the Monday or come up with a good comeback.

So far I’m not hearing about any amazing album sales in reference to Kayen Album and I’m not talking about free album giveaways or free streaming ( ala Rihanna ).

What I do know is that Kayen has no faith in this album that he is seeking so much attention just to get people talking about it. All Adele, Beyonnce and Zendaya did was drop songs to get people to start talking.

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

      1. Probably. But Kanye doesn’t get paid in ratings. We’ll have to see how his album sales fare but so far Kanye’s rep hasn’t improved nor have people been talking about favorably about his fashion show.

      2. The Grammy’s are the Grammy’s, Taylor doesn’t want or need a public spectacle to sell records or get attention. She sells more than Kanye without even trying.

      3. Beef doesn’t equal album sales. That hasn’t been true since the 90’s.

      4. Money how? Kanye’s album sales are so far predicated to drop quite low. He’s going to investors to help keep his clothing line afloat and Taylor is still sitting pretty with her own marketing method.

  68. knower says:

For someone who was basically outted last week,

Kanye should quiet down. I get he’s trying to push that headline out with these new conflicts, but too much relies on him being straight and him being attracted to Kim. So hush, dude.

If people knew the truth, your sham would reveal to be an even BIGGER one.

  69. Jana says:

Didn’t Amber Rose teach this idiot not to get into anymore twitter wars? Someone needs to break his fingers and get his mouth wired shut again.

  70. Dangles says:

“Anyway, Camp Yeezy and Camp Swifty are now at war. ”

It’s like Biggie and Tupac all over again.

If Yeezy survives this war the 2020 presidential Twitter feud between President Trump and Yeezy will be epic.

  71. Ennie says:

He only sees value in money… so his wife is with him because he is “rich”. If that is his way to demean Ray J. , he is showing his true colors of a fool.

  72. Naddie says:

These people truly deserve each other.

  73. Amanda G says:

These PR stunts he’s pulling to promote his album have gotten old. But yes, he did make her famous. No need to call her a bitch though.

  74. Original T.C. says:

His lyrics using the B word and saying that he made her really got me boiled up. He is a pig. He deserves all the dragging and shaming. But I thought he deserved it even more before by saying he OWNS Amber Rose’s son.

That is one thing I can never, ever forgive him for. We no longer live in a country where other human beings (least of all children) are bought and sold like furniture. I’m still shocked that the blow back wasn’t career-ending strong. But unfortunately Black child are not as valued by our society so this will make national legitimate news while his comments about a child will stay in the tabloids.

Also I wish other women would stoping trying to support a successful adult woman by infantilizing her. That is not helpful when young ladies have to fight daily not to be called sweetie or kiddo. Taylor is not 15 she shouldn’t be called a teen.

  75. Goobie says:

So this “Manly” rapper needs a little cutesy popstar girl to get clicks because unless he makes a scene people may realize there is nothing there. There is no fashion, There is no music, There is no Man there.

Just a whiny child acting out

    • word says:

He’s bitter because he wanted Taylor to tweet about his album but she refused. He doesn’t handle “no” very well.

    • Dangles says:

We live in a strange world. Hypocrites like Kanye criticize others for things they’re guilty of themselves and yet the media keeps giving them attention. These days you don’t even need credibility to remain relevant. You’d think once people like Kanye and Trump shot themselves in the foot that they’d be finished but apparently not. Rick Perry must wonder why they get so many chances when one gaffe destroyed his presidential aspirations.

  76. LAK says:

Well, he achieved the publicity he set out to achieve because Kanye seems to be the top trending topic on twitter all weekend.

  77. Kelly says:

He did not make TS famous. That’s ridiculous. Also, if you ignore him he will go away…
