Duchess Kate in blue Roland Mouret at the SportsAid gala: lovely or boring?

153400PCN_Kate008

I happened to be on Twitter as the @KensingtonRoyal account was live-tweeting the Duchess of Cambridge’s “arrival” at the SportsAid event last night. What was absolutely hilarious to me was that Kate’s official Twitter was making such a big deal about her “arrival”… at Kensington Palace. Literally, she “arrived” at her home. She walked outside to what is basically her backyard. This was also Kate’s first work event since she and William attended the Queen’s garden party on May 24th. Because she’s so keen to work, you guys!

At least Kate gave us a new gown to examine, which is nice. I was getting tired of the repeats, mostly because she was repeating some of the worst pieces in her closet and styling those looks in the same old way. Her gown for this SportsAid reception was by Roland Mouret. She’s worn Mouret’s gowns before, to decent results. I like this gown for the most part. I have an issue with the bust though. Mouret is known for beautiful structure, and many of his gowns have an almost origami-like feel which needs proper tailoring. So is it the tailoring that’s off, or does Kate need a different bra? Am I the only one seeing that?

The reception also involved a dinner (of beef, asparagus and pudding) and a speech by Kate, the video of which will probably be hidden away in some vault with all of Kate’s extra wiglets. Kensington Palace only released a transcript. Here is the speech in full:

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. It is an absolute pleasure to be here with you to celebrate SportsAid’s 40th anniversary. Some of you may know that I love sport. I love cheering on teams and athletes that I am passionate about. I love the physical challenge sport presents and the mental strength it gives us all. And I love the way it so often brings people together to work as part of a team. I suspect many of you in this room may feel the same. The brilliance of SportsAid is in really understanding just how much athletic competition gives to our country as a whole. By investing in young sporting talent, they ensure that there is a strong pipeline of inspirational heroes.

These athletes then serve as motivators to everyone in the UK to get involved, get active, and embrace the power of sport to make us happier and healthier. With little over 50 days to go until the Games begin in Rio; the next Olympiad is almost here. As we did in London in 2012, we will see a new generation of sporting stars emerge into the spotlight. We cannot wait to meet the next SportsAid champions – the next Chris Hoys and Katherine Graingers who will remind us all of the magic and the power of sport.

So thank you all for supporting the incredible work of SportsAid. I am immensely proud to be their Patron and I can’t wait to cheer on our team competing in Rio. I do hope you enjoy tonight’s very special occasion. Thank you.

[From Royal.uk]

I was going to write some republican diatribe, but I’ll save it for another day. This is your future queen, Great Britain. I hope you can picture the hair tosses when you read the words “I love cheering on teams and athletes that I am passionate about.”

People Magazine also had a lengthy write-up about this event, complete with sugary quotes from some of the people in attendance about how wonderful it is that Kate is so “curious about sport” and how amazing it was that she asked the young athletes if they were nervous. The CEO of SportsAid also made sure to mention that Kate is very “keen.” Yes, very keen.

  1. lower-case deb says:

why do you wear a pair of statement earrings only to obscure it with your hair?

however, nice to see that she coordinated her dress color with both the SportsAid logo and her engagement ring.

    • Anett says:

Because she is called Kate Middleton.:-( Silly, right?

      • bluhare says:

Anett!! She is not Kate Middleton any more! She is HRH Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and a Title Of Other Stuff now! If I cared I’d have to stomp off in a huff, but apparently I really don’t. 🙂

      • Megan says:

What I really don’t get is why she does not avail herself of the real statement pieces in the royal collection. Cartier is nice, but I want to see the crazy bling.

      • bluhare says:

Me either, Megan. If I were here I’d be borrowing as much of that stuff as I could!

      • Megan says:

@Bluhare I would be drenched in bling morning, noon, and night. It’s the best perk of the job.

    • Locke Lamora says:

Because she looks a million times better with her hair down, so I get why she wears it down all the time.

      • SNAP says:

She can look quite cute with her hair up too…i prefer her on a pony tail or half her hair pulled back. The chignons age her a lot though.

      • SamiHami says:

I completely agree, Locke Lamora. I think she has great hair and I don’t understand all the criticism she gets for it.

      • Sarah says:

Because she’s a professional woman and she shouldn’t be playing with it constantly.

    • LadyJane says:

At least she seems to have given up the wiglets for the moment. Her hair looks really good here.

      • MorningCoffee says:

I was just going to comment on her hair. It looks like the extensions might be gone, perhaps? I do like when Kate wears bright colors. She looks good.

      • MinnFinn says:

Seems like her hair was a good 5 inches shorter at Christmas when she got THAT cut. Could her hair grow that fast in 6 months or is my memory just off?

      • LittleTiny says:

I agree. I don’t normally feel either way about her hair but I like it here.

Also I think with her bust area that she might be wearing a lacy bra and perhaps because it has a textured finish it is showing through the fabric of the dress. Also it appears very slightly too large in that area so it’s just not draping very well. I agree with Kaiser that it’s not quite right

    • Cricket says:

I’ve been catching episodes of The Windsors from channel 4 here in the states on youtube and they are pretty funny. I particularly love how Kate is always wearing blue and how they mention it as her statement color or something.. but it is true, she must have a complete closet full of blue.

  2. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I like the dress, especially the sleeves, but it looks like she’s wearing a lacy bra underneath instead of a smooth one, and the detail on the bra is showing through?

    • Hazel says:

I agree, a different bra would have been better. And I liked the dress, too, until I saw it from the back. That zipper! All I saw was that zipper! Who puts such a long zipper on a gown, it went all the way below the bum. She’s had to sit on a zipper during her dinner.

  3. PHD Gossip says:

    Please eat something, Kate.

    • Anett says:

      Second that!

    • TeamAwesome says:

Seriously. This is why she doesn’t work more. The effort required to be that thin leaves no energy for anything else.

    • Rachel says:

She really does not look well. I fear she is really having some issues, and I hope she’s getting the help she needs.

      • magnolia says:

It’s a repeat of Diana all over. You’d think William would notice and help his wife get help.

      • LAK says:

        Magnolia: Several things,

        1. perhaps Kate feels she looks better thinner. She’s been rewarded every time she lost weight, therefore no incentive to go back to a higher weight. Exception when she needed to have babies. She added weight and maintained that higher weight for those 2 years. I guess we can speculate that more babies are out of the question since she’s gone back to 2011 skeletal weight.

        2. Going by his exes, William prefers bony, skinny women. He may not see the difference in the way a regular person might see it.

        3. She may be stubbornly refusing any help offered. Look how long it took to tone down her eye make up, her skirt lengths and dven her wiglets.

    • hplupoi says:

I think if she put on just a little weight her clothes would look so much better. I hate critiquing someone for their weight, especially if someone cannot put on/keep on weight. We all know that is not the case here.

    • littlemissnaughty says:

Was that really necessary? I think not.

She looks really great in that dress, I have no complaints. And she looks like she wants to be there which is nice.

    • meme says:

I’m sure she does eat. She’s thin…so what? She certainly doesn’t look unhealthy.

      • Tiffany says:

It you look at photos from the dating years, yeah she does.

      • Sarah says:

In some recent pictures, her waist is to tiny, it’s frightening. And remember, the camera does add weight. I think she looks very unhealthy – her skin is suffering too. She was a very pretty woman before all,the weight loss. Sometimes, she looks gaunt now.

    • Moneypenny says:

Honestly, if I had the whole world watching me and my clothes, I’d be this thin too. Not saying that is right, but we all know that you are treated better when you are underweight than overweight.

    • Sarah says:

I worry about her health. I don’t like her work ethic, but hate to see her disappearing before our eyes.

  4. Snazzy says:

I really don’t like that shade of blue

  5. Christine says:

The dress is better than normal for her. That’s not saying much, but maybe it’s because I just like the color blue. At least it is more interesting to look at. Her hair should still be up. Forever it should still be up. She should never wear her hair down. I’m keen to see her hair up. Also, is she slated to go to Rio? Or can she not even be bothered to do that? Or will she get pregnant before Rio so that she can avoid going because of the zika virus?

  6. Sixer says:

The day I see passion from this ridiculous cipher is the day I become a monarchist. I believe that will be the twelfth of never, then.

Not. In. A. Good. Mood. Today.

    • Don't kill me I'm French says:

      Are you French ? 😝

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

      💐

    • Sixer says:

I had a lovely day yesterday (went up in a glider and my village looks BEAUTIFUL from the air). But today? I’m being bombarded with a) #queenat90 and b) #brexit. It’s no fun at all being a Britisher at the moment. There isn’t even much good tellyboxing cos #euro16 is about to add to my woes.

Middle finger to the world. That’s today’s position!

      • Lilacflowers says:

*tosses a picnic basket containing spinach pie, strawberries, lemon drizzle cake, champagne, and fudge in Sixer’s general direction and runs away for safety*

      • Sixer says:

You’re exempt from all sanctions, ever. Cos cake.

      • Mumzy says:

When you’re feeling low just chant, “At least I’m not facing an uncertain future with Donald Trump as President and chief representative of my country.”

For sanity at my worst moments these days, I’ve adopted the great chanting technique from “Kimmy Schmidt” — whilst jumping up and down with arms in the air (if only in my imagination) I chant with glee — “I’m not really here! I’m not really here! I’m not really here!”

      • HyacinthBucket says:

Sixer ITV4 is airing reruns of “The Saint”. I admit I like that. But I might be much older than you are and I’m just being bloody sentimental.

      • notasugarhere says:

You can also get old radio episodes of The Saint online (starring Vincent Price!). Some available through the old time radio ap for your phone too. Fun to listen to while doing chores.

    • Amelia says:

Don’t worry Sixer, maybe you’ll catch the tail end of the thunderstorms London has had recently which will knock out all your to signals.
Whilst all that Royal rubbish is going on literally two miles away, I’m blowing various bits and pieces up in GTA V.
Feels good to be a virtual psychopath sometimes 👍

    • Amber says:

Me too @Sixer. See this is why I can’t, and this is why I won’t… But let me get you even more riled up 😀
      – Handful of patronages (Check)
      – Doesn’t actually visit for 19 months (Check. Super keen. Super into sport. And this coming off the back of writing letters to some patronages–SportsAid being one–completely ignoring other patronages, making one brief appearance for a few more, but making her 7th appearance and staying 5 hours for Ben Ainslie’s $100M government subsidized rowing charity. Yeah, she’s passionate about at least one thing.)
      – Shows up for a glamour event (Check. Classic Kate!)
      – Shows up for the glamour gig, having not “worked” at all for more than two weeks since her last flurry of fluff, and will now rack up engagement numbers for the next week dressing up, following around QEII and the rest of the BRF in this endless series of self-promotion, sitting, standing, posing, waving. (Check. The most classic of Kate. She never misses a balcony.)

And we’re supposed to lose our sh*t because the future Queen of England showed up, looked nice*, AND gave a little speech, when she didn’t even have to, ya’ll. (I’m sure C.P. Mary and Queen Maxima quake in their boots in awe of Princess ‘K’atherine…) I feel so sorry for monarchists and the duds they got. I mean, I don’t. But it feels like the right thing to say. It’s empty rhetoric. Catherine would understand.

*Speaking off–I’m seeing far more “she’s so thin” comments around the internet than “She’s SOOO Lover-ly (period.)” comments. So I think that ship may have sailed and is no longer serving as a reliable distraction as well.

    • Sixer says:

So glad to know that I am not alone!

    • bluhare says:

What I want to know is whose house you had the glider soar over the most, and did you dive bomb a Sixlet.

And may I also say it’s a sad day when thinking about you spying on a neighbor or torturing one of your children is much more entertaining than the topic of the post!

      • Sixer says:

        HA!

I took photos and it was rather gorgeous. Everyone else does skydiving around here but a) I am lily-livered and b) the glider was just beautifully peaceful and lovely.

Vis a vis the Sixlets: Minor is in favour, since he made last night’s dinner because I was too busy being in post-gliding euphoria to bother. Interesting strangeness involving tuna, frozen peas, tinned tomatoes and pasta and not what you’d call tasty, but the thought was there. I did not dive bomb him. Major is in the doghouse for the repeated offence of hiding tea mugs with dregs in under his bed rather than making the effort to walk down the stairs and put them in the dishwasher. He is a Mould Sinner and I may consider dive bombing him.

      • BDA says:

The tea mugs with the dregs! Ugh! My British dad would leave them everywhere! They get this gross skin on the top when they are cold.

      • bluhare says:

I could not sky dive either, Sixer. Jumping out of the plane is more than I could do. I’ve gone up in a glider before; I was surprised how noisy it is!

LOL, poor Major! I have now guiltily taken the tea mugs around my computer back to the kitchen. 😀

      • antipodean says:

@Sixer, thanks for the update, it is much appreciated. I confess that I usually only glean unpleasant or irritating (extremely so in the case of Brexit and its attendant lunacy) news once a day. My gaskets cannot stand it more than once! So your newsflash was appreciated. A good pig shagging is always in order, and reason for a chuckle. What would we do without you to keep us appraised of these things. I hope you have a good weekend, and all the Sixlets are hale and hearty.

    • notasugarhere says:

Sixer, she clearly has a passion for shopping with your money. All it took to get her to work, after two weeks off, was a new $3000 dress and new $49.000 earrings to match her ugly “Olympic” rings necklace.

      • Sixer says:

You want me to spontaneously combust, don’t you?!

      • Lizzy says:

@notasugar – Maybe you are joking in which case plz ignore this but her earrings are a crazy amount of $49,000 – Cartier Diamond Tricolor Gold Trinity Hoop Earrings. Its mind boggling that she makes any jeweelery look cheap – my opinion only.

Also there is a short video of her speech https://twitter.com/byEmilyAndrews/status/740990955734618113

Way to make everything about herself -the entire 1st paragraph is how much”she ” likes the sports lol

      • antipodean says:

@Sixer, did you want to spontaneously combust when our mate Eddie was schooling Mr Farage about Brexit? I thought his nail polish and jaunty beret were very on point! Eddie for Lord Mayor of London. Always a good day when he makes headlines, and Katie Bucket is relegated to the background. Also, the odd Man U prostitute scandal, always a winner, Kath must be steaming that focus is drawn from her “speech”!
While you were up gliding around Sixer, did you happen to spot Mrs B and her collie up to their usual tricks? Also Major needs to be cured of his mug under the bed habits, I am sure his future partner will thank you for it. It’s strange how the progeny can come downstairs for tea and toast, yet can’t seem to bring yesterday’s dishes and washing (dirty socks anyone?) with them at the same time. Probably involves an unacceptable amount of forethought. Kidz today!

      • Sixer says:

Even for Eddie, I could not tune into QT. It’s all doing my head in now. I hope he was good, though. I’m trying to think: would I prefer Katie Useless in the headlines? Or more Brexit? I must say, it’s a sad day when you’re relieved to see Muhammad Ali’s funeral on the news cos at least if you cry tears, they won’t be of bitter fury. SIGH.

The Sixlets are generally good – polite, do well at school, never get into trouble or fights, don’t think old people are aliens, etc etc etc. But they (both) are epic fails on the hygiene front. SIGH AGAIN.

      • Diabla2santa says:

        Isn’t that nice.
She doesn’t work for 2 weeks and reappears wearing earrings valued as much as someone’s whole year salary.

      • Sixer says:

        antipodean! antipodean!

The day has had an upturn! Thank you, thank you, thank you, The Last Leg. They got Corbyn on there, told him that he had a reputation as a bit of a humourless mizzog, and said they were going to test this by showing him funny interwebz things. So, he laughed at the first two like a good boy. But the third one was a picture of the pig-shagger holding a pig. So he had to try and NOT laugh, but everyone else was in stitches around him. Poor Jezza! Punked! He took it in good part.

        My. Day. Is. Made.

      • antipodean says:

@Sixer, my reply to your last post went in above, sorry about that, I must have entered it in the wrong spot.

  7. Lainey says:

I don’t know if she’s lost more weight or not but she looks really thin here. And I really wish she’d stop pairing everything with black or nude shoes and clutches. She needs someone around her to change this things up.

    • Bettyrose says:

My first thought was that she looks like a Barbie Doll, like literally a posable plastic figurine.

      • paddyjr says:

Duchess Barbie! Includes Big Blue, other accessories sold separately.

      • Original T.C. says:

I haven’t looked up her pics for some weeks now so the first thing I notice is how thin she is. Her fans might not notice because they are always looking up her pics. She used to have just a great athletic slim build now she looks almost 2-D. And people are ignoring it.

  8. Jayna says:

I think she looks fantastic. I love her hair.

    • Locke Lamora says:

Me too. this is the best she looked in ages, and her hair looks great. For all her faults, she is a really beautiful woman.

      • Polly says:

I agree she looks better than she has in ages. The dress is sleek and modern and her hair looks great without all the added volume.

    • Megan says:

It looks like she ditched the wiglet. Her hair looks so much better without it.

      • LAK says:

        Yep.

I know i go on and on about her wiglet/extensions, primarily because they are badly attached and she ( and her fans) insist it’s all her own hair, but as you can see, THIS is her hair. And it’s not bad at all nor does it need to be enhanced with wiglets and extensions as if it were lacking in some way.

    • Sharon Lea says:

This is the best, most relaxed, I can remember in a long long time, perhaps years. Whatever she did prior, acupuncture, a long nap – keep doing it.

      • notasugarhere says:

“Whatever she did prior” as in not working for two weeks?

      • hmmm says:

Unphotoshopped pix or it didn’t happen. She’s airbrushed as all getout. I guess she’s in the media’s good graces again.

      • Sharon Lea says:

Sugar – you make a great point!
hmmm – oh, is she photoshopped? Darn.
Ok, I retract my compliment. ha

  9. NOLA says:

That dress is wasted on Waity. I think it would be really gorgeous on someone with a little more meat on their bones. All it does here is emphasis how thin she has become. Sh

  10. Jb says:

I think she’s too thin to pull off the dress – her arms are quite stick like. And yes, something about the bust is off…

    • mayamae says:

I think her arms are the healthiest looking part of her.

      • lisa2 says:

I don’t get that comment either about her arms.. she has athletic arms. This is a nice dress; but it just feels like she is not bringing any personality to it. It just feels like she is a mannequin.

  11. Emily says:

    What?! No jeggings?!!!

  12. Emily says:

Re: keen – somebody please buy PoorJason a thesaurus!

  13. lilacflowers says:

Whatever weirdness is happening with Kate’s bra pales in comparison to the extreme weirdness of that black bra/sheer orange dress combo on the blonde.

  14. Bex says:

She’s lost so much weight it’s concerning

  15. the original rachel says:

OK: this is driving me nuts. Is her face different? In the picture that comes up when you click on the story, I didn’t recognize her. I’m terrible at trying to identify the culprit. Botox? Face work? New makeup?

  16. UCatwoman says:

All she needed was a padded bra. I have a seamstress business and I recently had a bride with the same issue. I sewed some padded cups in the dress and she looked gorgeous. There’s too much excess fabric around the bust area. But it is a very interesting and well constructed dress.

    • Vava says:

Agreed. She wears padded bras from time to time, and for this dress she really needed one. The dress is really great, but on her not so much. It’s the classic example of how some garments can accentuate how thin she is, something I suspect she likes to show off. I thought she looked a little like Caitlyn Jenner.

    • Mika says:

I agree 100% with you – a padded bra is needed.

  17. Barrett says:

    She looks great

  18. Starlight says:

I love this dress and Kate being so slim can wear it well look no bumps anywhere she is the perfect model clothes horse. Not sure about the earrings how she loves those gypsey danglers I always think that she is going to pull out a crystal ball at any moment. The lovely lady in orange/red is British darling swimmer Sharron Davies, beautiful sparkly eyes.

  19. PHAKSI says:

Pretty, but it would be so much better if she would bloody stand up straight! Was good posture not a part of her “princess lessons”

  20. Hegimal says:

That dress is tiny and it’s too big on her! She must look positively skeletal IRL. She’d look so much better with a few extra kilos.

  21. Kelly says:

Serious question, why does she have a clutch? I get she “arrived”, but she’s still at home, right?

    • HollyG says:

I have a theory (based on very little evidence, but that doesn’t stop me) that Kate suffers from anxiety and that she compulsively bites her fingernails as a result. In some of the oldest candid pix, during the waity era, she constantly had bandages on her thumb and index fingers. Somebody at the time pointed out that she had bitten the nails down to bloody stumps, and picked at the cuticles.

In more recent photos, you can see her clutching her own fingers tightly. I actually tried to duplicate what she was doing with her hands, and she had trapped her own thumb with the other hand.

I don’t think she carries a clutch because it contains anything she needs, but to give her hands something to do so that she doesn’t start messing with them. Or as a security object. You can also see that she doesn’t put the clutch down even when it would make more sense, eg when she was trying to cut a ribbon at that charity shop.

On a different note, I am amused that the dress code for this event ranged from shorts to evening gown. If I were Kate, who doesn’t have the confidence to pull off being the most formally dressed person in the room, I would be insisting on a dress code. It is absolutely respectful for her to dress well to meet people, but the same courtesy can be extended both ways.

      • lisa2 says:

I think it is a crutch she uses when she is nervous. I hate when she clasps it in front of her. Just makes her look stiff. She needs to practice posing and learning how to position her hands in a natural way.

  22. Rapunzel says:

I think she definitely looks better than usual here. But her clothes are just swallowing her. And for someone who does so little official work, she looks so tired. I really do think something concerning is going on. As lazy as she is, I hope she’s not sick.

  23. Sharon Lea says:

As Kaiser mentioned, anyone have a link to the speech? I looked yesterday after work as the Daily Mail and twitter were filled with images from this event, but I couldn’t find one anywhere.

  24. Rocío says:

One of her best looks. That’s all I’ve got.

  25. LW727 says:

I love this dress on her. It’s probably one of my favorites that she’s worn. As someone who has had trouble gaining/keeping weight on in the past I feel that it’s unfair to criticize her weight. If she were a heavy person no one (or I hope not) would be talking about her being “too fat”.

  26. neocleo says:

The dress is beautiful and the Duchess looks wonderful.

  27. notasugarhere says:

Any news on how long she stayed?

  28. Pandy says:

Wow she looks great! Mind you she really could wear a burlap sack and it would look good. She looked dressy but not overdone. Great look.

  29. Guesto says:

God. That first pic. Could she look more unengaged? How hard would it have been for her to put her arms around those two girls (instead of part-blocking them) or alternatively stood at the back and let the kids and the sportspeople be the focus?

And that speech was awful and a perfect reflection of her ‘passion’.

    SportsAid deserves so much better.

    • notasugarhere says:

The do deserve better. Unfortunately they are stuck with her until they start taking on high-profile celebrity patrons (like EACH ) because their royal patron is doing nothing.

      • Guesto says:

But they already have the most awesome ‘celebrity patrons’ in the existing trustee – Tanni Grey-Thompson – Baroness Grey-Thompson, to give her her proper title – and the equally awesome ambassador, Sharron Davies.

That two such intelligent, committed, hard-working, glorious women have to take a side seat to allow the Duchess of Dolittle space to showcase a dress makes me want to stab my eyes out with a rusty knife.

  30. Penelope says:

She looks so pretty in the first pic–what a great smile.

  31. Joannie says:

She looks absolutely beautiful. I’m happy to see she is growing her hair out. I like it better long. It’s so thick and healthy looking.

    • Deedee says:

Much healthier looking without all the wiglets.

      • Joannie says:

        Obvious hair envy!

      • notasugarhere says:

Deedee, the wiglets will reappear never fear. The magically-changing hair length is usually a good hint as to when she has extra hair sewn in.

      • Deedee says:

Wow, Joannie, your ad hominem attacks are really out of place here. I’m not jealous of anyone like Kate, who has to wear extensions. My hair is naturally thick and wavy and has never required extra volume, not that you know me at all. If you can’t get past the fact that Kate wears wiglets, then you will just have to learn to deal. Just don’t attack me or other posters for stating the obvious.

      • Joannie says:

Deedee, my comment was meant to be taken in lighthearted fun not as an attack. This is a gossip site for goodness sake. If you have such thick hair then you know Adding more is the last thing one would do. Try as I might I have never ever seen the hint of a wiglet on her head. I see the same photos as you and I say that in all honesty. No wiglet, ever!

      • notasugarhere says:

Whereas I see evidence of them on KM constantly. Just another one of her vain obsessions.

  32. Roller74 says:

I love the color on her and I think the dress is a flattering fit on her slim figure. I find the bust line on evening dresses is an issue for HRH, because she is so flat chested. Kate herself looks tired and uninterested in what is happening in the moment. The more pictures I see of her at public events, the harder it seems for her to hide behind her big smile, the fact that she would rather be anywhere else then where she is.

  33. mimi says:

wow. why is noone commenting on the fact that she is heavily photoshopped again? yes she looks good, but that is BECAUSE these pics aren’t … real. ah well.

    • Sharon Lea says:

Can you tell what to look for? As I wrote upthread, I can’t tell with photoshopping unless it is very smooth around the eyes. So look for lack of wrinkles? What about the eyes, seemed like her eyes were more ‘open’ for the ski trip? With someone like Madonna, its easier to spot, but a younger person I shrug my shoulders.

    • Nic919 says:

Her skin looks worse in the church appearance the next morning, so that is sign number one that her face was photoshopped here.

  34. Stuffapea says:

“I love cheering on teams and athletes that I am passionate about”.
Forget the dress, the hair, the absence of those awful nude pumps. The real crime here is grammatical malfeasance!
NEVER END A SENTENCE WITH A PREPOSITION
To quote Winston Churchill, “That is English up with which I will not put”. And she graduated from St. Andrew’s?
Posh my Aunt Fanny. If class was water everyone would drink it.

  35. KiddVicious says:

I like this dress on her and I think her thinness makes it look better. Curves would mess up the seams and angles of it.

There’s no way I could get my arm into the armhole and if I did it would look like sausage casing. LOL

I don’t think she’s too thin. She is thin, but nowhere near anorexia stage.

    • hmmm says:

“thinness makes it look better”? “Curves would mess up the seams and angles of it”? Ye gods.

      • KiddVicious says:

Yes. That dress was designed to look good on a model type body, Kate’s small hips and chest is very close to that. It shows the design of the dress and not the body inside of it. Can you imagine Kim Kardashian’s body type pulling seams every which way? Or even J-Lo. It would be a totally different look.

      • Vava says:

Kidd, not sure that’s right. I think the design is intended for an hour glass figure, someone with a few curves. Not talking about Kim K. surely, but someone with curves. I personally think the runway model looks better in this dress than Kate does, but if Kate had the right bra, it would be perfection on her, too.

      • Deedee says:

I love how we go straight to Kim Kardashian when making comparisons to Kate.

    • msthang says:

Kidd, the camera adds 10 lbs so in real life I bet she looks emaciated to be sure!!!!

  36. cerys says:

I wish someone would step in and save kate from herself. Her head is now looking too big for her body and in some DM pics her teeth seem too big for her face. She gets more frail looking every time we see her. All those who say she is fine have obviously never lived with someone who has an eating disorder.

    • Vava says:

I’m curious about that though. Kate seems to have muscular arms and thighs. If she had anorexia or bulimia, wouldn’t those be wasting away like the rest of her (boobs are going south, rear has vanished)?

    • Sharon Lea says:

Cerys – you have hit on the perfect phrase, I agree, she is looking ‘more frail looking.’ Wish her Mom and sister would talk to her, help her.

  37. l_invo says:

Awful as usual. Bony, humpback, snatches her hands, and they are on her crotch again, and after she poke clutch on her crotch. Bitchface, her real face, on the second photo. And on the third she trying to listen, but you can see that she doesn’t care, she just came to show new clothes and etc.

  38. hmmm says:

I wonder if she’s wearing Spanx. That’s all I’ve got.

  39. Christin says:

    Jewel tone colors suit her.

  40. Nikki says:

Jewel tones do suit her, and I think she looks fantastic.

  41. The. Dress looks great on her, and Kates hair is beautiful
