Khloe Kardashian named her daughter True Thompson… at least it’s not Fidelity T.

šŸ’Œ Whatā€™s meant to be will always find its way šŸ’Œ

A post shared by KhloƩ (@khloekardashian) on

Before Kim Kardashian and Kanye West named their third child Chicago ā€œChiā€ West, I was pretty convinced that True (or Tru) West was a big name contender. It just seemed like an obvious choice, and considering Northā€™s name, it felt like they wanted to go with the obvious choice. True would have been a good name for Chicago, quite honestly. But Kim left it on the table and so Khloe picked it up and named her baby girl True Thompson. Khloe announced the name in a social media post:

Most of the comments are along the lines of ā€œgirl donā€™t name your baby after something your man doesnā€™t have.ā€ I mean, itā€™s not like she named the baby Fidelity Thompson or No-Sidepieces Thompson. I think she just wanted something ā€œTrueā€ in her life. True like a mother-daughter bond. Thatā€™s what Iā€™m choosing to believe.

Meanwhile, E! News reports that Khloe has spent the first week of True’s life in Cleveland, focused on True and not the drama between herself and Tristan. A source tells E!: “Khloe is mesmerized and completely in love with the baby. That’s all she’s thinking about is caring for the baby and being positive. She hasn’t made any decisions on what she’s going to do regarding Tristan. She is overcome with emotion and can’t think about anything other than the baby right now.ā€ Kris Jenner is still in Cleveland, helping out with the baby. Kris was there for every minute of the labor too.

I canā€™t believe I know this – but I read that True is a family name that both Krisā€™s Dad and Grandfather had. So thereā€™s that?

    • jwoolman says:

Yes, Mama Ten Percent confirmed that True is an old name on her side of the family. I had previously leaped to the snarky conclusion that it was wishful thinking and irony, considering what liars they are.

True can work for both a girl or a boy, which is nice. The maternal ancestors with that name were male.

Sometimes names that seem odd are just old-fashioned family names making a comeback. For example, Prince is a name in Michael Jacksonā€™s family from way back when it was popular (late 1800s-early 1900s, I think) along with other ā€œroyal titleā€ names like Duke, Duchess, King, Queen (Queenie), etc. Prince was the name of someone on his motherā€™s side, maybe a grandfather.

      • NameChange says:

So we’re going to pretend that Michael Jackson didn’t have an over-inflated sense of self (including naming himself the King of Pop), hence calling both of his male children “Prince”?

      • jwoolman says:

Namechange- oh, Iā€™m sure there was a fun aspect in choosing Prince also, but it really was a name in his motherā€™s family. It wasnā€™t pulled out of the air. It was also a way of honoring his motherā€™s family. People often have mixed motivations.

I donā€™t know why people choose the same or similar names for their kids in general (look at George Foremanā€™s troupe, with George II, George III, George IV etc.), or the Jr., III, IV habit in general. But naming conventions can be weird. Ancient Roman children past the first of each gender at one point were often called by their numerical order of birth. Hence all the Secunda, Tertia, Quarta for girls. They had other parts in their names, though.

Michael Jackson’s older son does use the name Prince. The younger son was using a nickname he acquired as a baby but I donā€™t know what heā€™s decided to do now that heā€™s older. Prince is already taken by his older brother even though he also has a right to it.

  2. aims says:

Does anyone in this family pick out “normal” names for their kiddos? I just feel really bad for Chicago when she starts going to school.

    • Swack says:

She wont be going to a school where she will be in with plebians.

    • Salted Watermelon says:

Well, Kourtney has Mason and Penelope, so at least 2 of the Kardashian grandkids have normal names.

      • jwoolman says:

We do have to remember that every name started out as something new and strange initially. Some caught on and became common, so they seem familiar and ā€œnormalā€ and we often forget entirely about their origins and confusions with ordinary words. Also your ethnicity is a factor in what seems normal or odd to you, because certain names are common in certain groups but not typically used in others.

Some common names that are also ordinary words include Bob, Rod, Rob, Peter, Max, Mark, Violet, Red, Carol, Woody, April, August, Charity, Rose, Mason, Jack, Hunter, Christian, Grace, Cooper, Chase, Hazel, Aurora,
Autumn, Piper, Ruby, Willow, Faith, Ivy, Melody, Iris, Daisy, Martin, Hope, June, Olive, Colt, Drew, Frank, Joy, Felicity, Scarlet, Rosemary, Eve, Pierce, Holly, Crystal, Laurel, Lance, Robin, etc. We just donā€™t think of those as odd because theyā€™ve been around a long time.

    • Kitty says:

Like the commenter said above, true is actually a family name. I think it’s nice, better then Chicago

    • polonoscopy says:

I feel as though the whole “kids with weird names get bullied on the schoolyard” thing is just another way to shame mothers for their choices. I had a weird name as a kid, I didn’t get bullied. I live next to an elementary school, all the kids have weird names. My cousins’ kids all have weird names. The other kids are ok with it; adults are the people with opinions. Unless there is something penis-y about the name, the kid is probably going to be totally fine.

      • Hollz says:

        Exactly Polonosopy!
I have a “normal” name and can assure ya’ll that the “normal-ness”/ “weirdness” or a name has nothing to do with other kids teasing you about it. I got every Christmas joke under the sun, and to this day I still get asked if I was born in December, or have adults sing. “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas” to me while I’m at work.

I like True. And I like alliteration, so I’m not overly upset about her using Tristan’s last name. Kinda surprised though, I thought this stuff about him cheating was coming out so she could give her daughter Kardashian as a last name.

      • Algernon says:

“Kids getting bullied for their names” is a holdover from the generation that named their kids either Chris, Josh, Ashley, or Jessica. I live near an elementary school and the names I overhear on the playground, True will not bat a lash. That name will fit right in. Besides Penelope, it’s the only Kardashian baby name I have ever liked.

      • Littlestar says:

I grew up with a long (nine letters!) made-up name, never got bullied about it; sometimes people stumbled on it when reading it or couldn’t quite catch it when they first heard it, but that’s continued into adulthood and I wouldn’t change it.

      • Nilber says:

Unique names are the normal anymore. I don’t think kids think about as much as adults do. They find other things to harass their peers about. Although my son was in preschool with a little girl named Princess Gorgeous… That was a bit much. I think it was more her attitude overall. She was a little diva and you just knew school was not going to be kind to her.

      • jwoolman says:

Bullies will torment other kids no matter what their name or how common it is. They make up stuff and twist anything to hurt other people.

Some combinations are looking for trouble though, like North West or Violet Plante, because they will cause anybody to giggle a bit. Those parents werenā€™t really thinking beyond the immediate cute.

Parents need to ask themselves how that cutesie name will work when Baby grows up to become POTUS or a Special Counselor…. or anything. But the kids can always change their name if they donā€™t like it and names that seem weird today may be considered quite normal tomorrow.

    • Dana Marie says:

I feel bad for Chicago. In Spanish slang , Chi can be interpreted to mean to ā€œurinateā€ and Cago can be interpreted to mean to ā€œdefecateā€. Really poor name choice. I feel sorry for her.

  3. Nicole says:

Apparently True is a family name according to Kris. But yea the jokes write themselves here.

    • HK9 says:

I’d want to see a death certificate before I take that piece of information to the bank. Lucifer’s homegirl will say anything to protect the brand.

      • Bethany F says:

the DM ran an interview with an old girlfriend of krisā€™ father about him (and not a flattering portrayal either that kris would want out!), i think itā€™s pretty much verified. it was his middle name.

      • HK9 says:

Ok~I’ll accept it. (& thanks for the info!) šŸ™‚

  4. RBC says:

I read a twitter posting from PMK, where she said that ā€œTrueā€ was actually her grandfatherā€™s name.
    All those balloons bother me

  5. Lenn says:

That instagram picture is somehow both celebratory and sad. I can almost feel Khloe being homesick. I think eventhough she is overwhelmed with love for the baby, that doesn’t automatically erase any pain she feels from this cheating business.

    • Skoochy says:

I thought the same. It looks like a party no one turned up for. I don’t like the girl but everything about this situation is just so sad.

  6. PoodleMama says:

What decision is there really for her to market? She canā€™t decide he isnā€™t going to cheat on her any more. Thatā€™s Tristanā€™s choice and given how blatant he was I doubt anything will change.

I would also be curious to see if we ever get any photos of TT with the baby. I donā€™t think there are any of him with his son.

  7. deets says:

True is an alignment, like North, as well. To be trued, is to be put in the exact necessary position.
Itā€™s an interesting choice, in that Iā€™ve only ever seen Truth as a name before.

    • Alix says:

I think Kirstie Alley’s son might be named True.

Don’t ask me how I know that.

      • jwoolman says:

Feel no shame in your trivia knowledge. My phone learned how to spell the names of all the Kardashians way too long ago. But for some reason it refuses to learn ā€œcolludeā€ and keeps changing that to ā€œcollideā€.

    • psl says:

At least it isn’t an adjective, like Moroccan? I still can’t get over Mariah naming her son that.

    • AnnaKist says:

My all-time favourite band has a song and album called True North, but for people names? Not for me.

  8. Nancy says:

Penelope and Mason are the Marilyn Munsters currently…..but in twenty years from now, when all these kids with words as names are sitting at the table, they will be the only two whose names are unusual. As I said last evening, True Thompson is an oxymoron. Lainey said if the name was True Kardashian, it would autocorrect to False Kardashian…..lol

  9. Alix says:

I’m continually surprised that the Kardashians give their kids their baby daddies’ surnames. Maybe to try and keep the baby daddies around longer?

    • Nancy says:

Everyone is reporting she has forgiven him. TMZ is saying the opposite, that she won’t take him back. If this is the case, I’d have more respect for her.

      • lightpurple says:

But who says he wants to be back? I think he decided he wanted out long ago and is just putting up with this farce to see his kid.

      • Nancy says:

He’s a creep so she’s better off without him, as is the former girlfriend who actually was with him for a long time. I think Khloe just wanted a baby like her sisters. Hopefully this story has reached it’s end.

      • Jordan says:

Even if she didnā€™t take him back, she deserves no respect. She doesnā€™t support women at all and therefore deserves zero respect from that gender. Hopefully sheā€™s suffering.

    • Mariposa says:

I was wondering that…and these two aren’t married, so why not call the baby Kardashian as well? These women appear to have a tonne of daddy issues, but their dad seemed to be fairly grounded and was obviously intelligent and hard-working. Where did their lack of self-worth come from?!

      • Anastasia says:

If the father’s last name is on the birth cert, I think he’s on the hook for child support.

      • Bethany F says:

@Anastasia very wrong. for an unmarried couple the father will be on the hook for child support if DNA proves it is his child or if he voluntarily signs birth certificate as the father, regardless of the babyā€™s last name. the babyā€™s last name has NOTHING to do with child support. as it should be!!

      • JENNIFER says:

@Bethany F my coworker went to court for child support for a baby she had from an affair, and she was ordered to change the baby’s last name to the father’s along with getting child support granted. I was blown away! Her sperm donor barely saw or cared about that baby and the judge was forcing the mother to change the baby’s name if she wanted child support. This was in Texas 6 years ago.

      • OG Olive says:

@JENNIFER Was she ordered to change the baby’s surname completely, or just hypenate and add on the father’s surname? I think that’s what ended up happening with Padma Lakshimi and that Dell guy, they fought for a while, he wanted the child’s name changed completely to his, but they ended up hyphenating so the child had both their names. Seems like a fair compromise IMO.

      • pan says:

        mom? it happens…

    • Swack says:

Why should the child not have the father’s last name? My grandson was given mom’s last name (she was 16 at the time) because dad wanted nothing to do with the baby. At 15 my grandson decided to change his last name to his dad’s (probably with some persuasion). True or Khloe can always change her name to Kardashian when she gets older if dad decides to stay out of her life.

    • NameChange says:

There’s a story on People about how “she’s in this forever” with Tristan and that’s why the baby’s last name is Thompson, not Kardashian. Someone should ask Tristan about that . Bossip commenters were having a field day saying that Tristan was now stuck with Khloe, which is the best karma for his cheating ways.

  10. KeWest says:

    True is a cute name.

    Ironic but still good.

I wonder if they will get the baby Canadian citizenship.

  11. minx says:

    I actually like True.
Again, in the top picture her pillow was off center.

    • Anastasia says:

Yeah, I was going to say–I wasn’t totally convinced this baby was carried by a surrogate, but that top pic? She didn’t gain weight in her boobs? Or her face? Or anywhere else?

  12. G says:

Good lord, one ridiculous decision after another here. Khloe, you are a laughing stock. Take your daughter and get away from the serial cheater, unless thatā€™s the role model you want her to have.

    • psl says:

She is a terrible role model for her daughter whether she konvinces him to stay or not. She is the worst of the whole lot to me. She is just plain vile.

  13. megs283 says:

She could also be hanging in Cleveland because she feels like poop. I just gave birth so all the pains are at the top of mind, but likely she canā€™t even sit without being in agony.

    • psl says:

Yeah, but you actually gave birth.

      Hope you feel better soon.

      • megs283 says:

LOL. Thanks, PSL! My daughter will be two weeks tomorrow, and my bottom is finally feeling pretty close to pain-free.

    • Nancy says:

I can’t imagine this pampered, spoiled, life is a beach woman wants to stay in Cleveland. It is April 17th and it is snowing outside. Yes, because our planet has gone mad from our inhabitance of it, but I Truly think the Kloester would be happier in her nice warm LA, where an earthquake is all she has to worry about. Bon Voyage

  14. Adrien says:

That Spandau Ballet song plays in my head each time I read the baby’s name.

  15. serena says:

I read somewhere that ‘True’ was also a name passed on Kris’ side of the family, on the male side.

  16. Heat says:

    I like the name, actually.
And I’m sure her name was chosen long before the news about UN-True-Tristan came out.

Also, it makes total sense to me that Khloe isn’t making any decisions about Tristan right now. This is HER moment with her new baby; it’s an emotional time on so many levels, and it’s a time that she may never experience again in her life. Why allow anyone to ruin that? Those issues aren’t going to go anywhere, so she can deal with it once she’s back on her feet and emotionally ready to tackle it.
OMG – when did I become a Kardashian apologist? What’s happening to me?

  17. bunichow says:

Eish, these kardashians…bwahahahahahahHaaaaaaa narcissistic lunAticks. so glad they’re America’s problem

  18. Ayra. says:

Pimp Mama is CLAIMING that this is a family name her dad had, yet she said her father was an abusive alcoholic.
Whatever, the kid’s going to be the subject of so many jokes with a name like that and Tristan’s cheating.

  19. queenE says:

I’ll bet OJ is excited *snark

    • psl says:

OJ is not her Dad. Alex Roldan is her biological father.

      • queenE says:

I don’t understand how they can all just overlook the fact Khloe doesn’t look like anyone else in the family. It’s so obvious

      • psl says:

Honestly, Robert Kardashian raised her. HE is her father. They all know she is not his biological Dad, and they don’t have to address it to the public. It is as obvious as all the plastic surgery they have had – and they don’t address that either.

      • Nancy says:

psl: She addressed the issue herself on the show. She made PMK take a dna test, which was ridic since we know it was the father who was in question. Caitlyn (obviously Bruce at the time) Jenner, spent more time raising her than Kardashian, Sr. It’s a toss up between Alex Roldan and O.J. Simpson who Kris made her with…..I always thought it was O.J. Before her myriad of surgeries and as a kid, she looks like him and put side by side with Sydney Simpson, they look like sisters. We can see where these women learned this lifestyle…….Mama Kris, the original cheater.

      • Captain Eyeroll says:

YES!! Exactly. The O.J.-as-father businss is ludicrous. She looks so much like Alex
        Roidan.
That said, itā€™s very generous and kind of Robert K. to treat her no differently than his other children. It would be understandable (but awful) if he saw Khloe as a constant reminder of Krisā€™s infidelity. He was her father in all the ways it matters most.

      • Heat says:

I thought Lionel Richie was her bio dad! LOL

      • Aurelia says:

Khloe looks zero like Sydney Simpson, zero! But look at Lionel ritches nose and klohess nose, IDENTICAL. Maybe there is something in this theory. I always thought khloe looked mixed race to me. Like 10% mixed. Its either lionel or alex roldan for sure.

      • Aurelia says:

Yikes, I just googled Sofia Ritchie and khloe lookalike and saw a photo of sophia as a toddler. She has blonde wavy hair just like khloes at the same age and the same hazel eyes. Uncanny.

    • psl says:

Nancy, if you look at Khloe’s pre-surgery face, it is Alex Roldan’s face. The similarity is undeniable. People just think it is more fun for the father to be OJ, that is why they insist.

      • Dee says:

Wow, you guys are right! Alex Roldan and she look like twins!

      • K-Peace says:

She looks exactly like Alex Roldan.–Like the female clone of him. And another tidbit pointing toward Roldan being her biological father: Khloe’s middle name is Alexandra.

      • Tiffany D'Virgilio says:

        Her middle name is Alexandra

      • Nancy says:

PMK is really a piece of work if she gave her lover’s name to her “love child” as a middle name. Can’t believe it took Robert, Sr. so long to divorce her. Long enough for her to have Rob. But he did cut her off financially, according to her ex, Caitlyn who said she took over all the finances. The fruit sure doesn’t fall from the tree in this family, True?

      • Tosca says:

If you watch enough of the show, it is obvious that Khloe is angry at her mother for being a cheater and then lying about it. She calls PMK a whore all the time, and you can tell it isn’t just a joke. Compared to the other girls, Khloe is also very bitter and confrontational.

    • Bethany F says:

her biological father is clearly krisā€™ old hairdresser alex roldan, not OJ. he and khloe pre-facial cosmetic work are TWINS. khloe is very white, look at photos of her as a child, sheā€™s not OJā€™s daughter.

obviously robert kardashian raised her and is her father, but not her biological father.

  20. psl says:

Named True, by a woman who is incapable of telling the truth.

The jokes write themselves here, in this family of liars.

  21. Amy Tennant says:

I kind of like that it’s almost a portmanteau of her parents’ names. A real portmanteau would have been Troe, but it’s close. It’s almost as if Shiloh were named Brungelina.
Besides, it fits with the Kardashians. At this point, the shocker would have been if her name were Mary Rose. Goodness. That’s what one of them should do if they want attention. Confirmed! Kendall Jenner’s daughter is named “Tammy”!

  22. Lua says:

Is it just me or are all those names (True, Storm(i), Reign and so on) straight from some erotica novel? I am not ashamed to admit that I have read quite a few and the names tru(e)ly remind me of them… and now I canā€™t get it out of my head.

  23. Dee says:

True or false: Khlode Kardashian will choose a stupid name for her kid?

  24. Anna says:

It is her choice to keep it private, but that picture of her in the glitter dress above is not a pregnant person. I don’t believe she carried this baby. The name is pretty. But, if there is one thing you can say about all of these Kardashians it is that they are all LIARS. The name must be a foreign concept to them. Ironic for more than one reason.

    • Rachel in August says:

Minx is also of that opinion, that she was never pregnant. I have to wonder myself as some of the birthing stories were pretty try-hard, a little too much.

  25. Christina S. says:

All my life I thought true was an adjective, Chicago was a city, north was a direction, and reign was a verb. I had it all wrong. Clearly those are names for kids. I mean naming them something normal would be out of the question. At least the name is ironic. I like irony.

    • Rachel in August says:

You mean coming from a women who’s a habitual, shameless liar? I would agree.

    • Erinn says:

Chicago is a city, but it’s also the NAME of a city – so whatever. There’s plenty of worse names out there. Chelsea is also the name of a place, and is a common given name.

And if we’re going by what’s ‘normal’ now – they’d all have Aiden, Ayden, Jayden, Jaiden, Kayden, Hayden, Hunter, Jaxon, Jackson, Madison, Addison, McKenna, Mackenzie type names.

No real offense to those names – but they’re part of a HUGE trend, and it’s so overly popular at this point. It’s a shame for the people that were ahead of the curve on that one.

      • Christina S. says:

Yes name of a city, not a person. Iā€™ve never met or heard of any person in history named Chicago, so to name a baby that IMO is stupid. Kids are cruel. Knowing their rich and have more than what other kids their age will have theyā€™re likely to be bullied not taking away of why their mom is famous to begin with. That will follow her beyond the grave. Itā€™s just a shame you have to subject children to even more bullying by naming them something stupid. Theyā€™re children, not pets, not accessories, so why not name them something meaningful? I agree all those names you named off are trendy and I myself wonā€™t subject my child to a name 10 other kids in his/her grade will have. Iā€™d rather go with something different, but meaningful.

  26. Sera says:

I donā€™t understand why would Tristan go along with a surrogate story ? He doesnā€™t need money -why would he agree to have his sperm used for a surrogate , or give his name to a baby not biologically his ?

  27. Cynical Ann says:

What kind of Chrissy Teigen filter did she use in that header pic?

  28. Cupcake says:

True is my favorite of Chicago, Stormi, and True. The last name choice is a bummer though.

    • KLO says:

We all might cringe, me included, but no matter what Tristan did to Khloe (and men DO worse stuff than cheating, sadly), he will always be the little girls daddy.

He is a part of little True and not acknowledging him as that will be way more harmful for the child psychologically than not doing it. Erasing him like this will lead to HUGE self-esteem issues.

I agree that the whole thing is sad. But this baby is a blessing as are all babies, and she deserves to have the right to acknowledge every part of her because it is not her fault that the person who gave her half of her genes acted like an asshole.

  29. SK says:

Sounds like a short name for Gertrude… Trudy, Tru

  30. Dr. Mrs. The Monarch says:

I think True is cute for a little girl. But in this family she will probably be 90% fake parts by the time she reaches adulthood. I hate feeling so cynical but I know some tabloid journalist out there has already written the headline for “True’s falsies” to be published 16 years from now.

  31. Mylene - Montreal says:

So funny because she’s one of the biggest liar .. she probably hope her daughter will say the truth all the time (but yeah guys i know its about kris jenner father and grand-father).
