This man really needs the adulation bc once he disappears from public life he knows he will fade away into obscurity.

    • Lillyfromlilooet says:

@mignionette You said it! I have secretly been thinking this might be the outcome.

    • BnLurkN4eva says:

I wish I believe this. If they don’t do something about him now and charge him after leaving office my fears are… I literally am afraid to say them out loud, but they are not good and it doesn’t see him fading into the night. 74 million people voted for this person and many of them are still supporting him.

    • MA says:

I don’t think our complicit media will let that happen. He’s good for ratings.

      • ItReallyIsYou,NotMe k8 says:

I think that if a private venue refuses him space or admission then there’s nothing he could do about that. But if a city owns or operates the venue and refuses him space because then that could be a first amendment issue because then it’s the government limiting someone’s speech. I’m specifically thinking about the convention centers in a lot of cities. I don’t know enough about how they operate to know for sure that they are operated by the city. So the cities may have no choice but to allow him to come and just increase the police presence around it unless they can show that the avoidance of violence outweighs the protections of the First Amendment (and I think that you could make that argument for obvious reasons).

      • booboocita says:

Most venues include riders in their event contracts that specifically outline what sort of speech/performance is allowed and not allowed. Usually there’s stuff in the contracts about safety (no indoor pyrotechnics, no water cannons, etc.), but many venues are now including prohibitions on hate speech (the better to keep out white supremacists and their ilk). I’m thinking a good argument could be made that allowing Cheeto to do his deranged thing in any venue is tantamount to allowing hate speech.

    • Snappyfish says:

He will spend the Better part of the remainder of his life trying to stay out of sing sing. His MAGAts will eventually get tired of defending him & will return to the rock from which they emerged & slither back under

  2. Jay says:

I hope any major US city seriously considering hosting this pathetic loser will follow the example of Scotland and refuse him entry – he’s a security threat, an economic burden, and bad for your brand!

    • booboocita says:

Any city allowing that man to hold a rally within their borders WITHOUT getting the money for venue rental up front deserves what it gets. His campaign still hasn’t paid for stadium and amphitheater rentals for his first election, let alone his attempt at a second. And then there’s the costs of police protection, venue security, and promotion. The latter is a big one, as he doesn’t have Twitter or Parler to promote himself to his deranged followers anymore. He’ll have to buy time on TV, radio, newspapers, etc. (insert Nelson pointing and screaming, “HA HA!”)

    • josephine says:

And the cost for the secret service is going to be astronomical. I can’t believe that he’s so insecure, so needy, such a snowflake that he is doing this. Well, I can believe it, just can’t wrap my head around anyone so desperate to drive this nation into the ground and stomp on it as hard as he can.

  3. Sigmund says:

Jfc. I hope that all my fellow Dems stay home and don’t counterprotest the crazies. They’re too dangerous and it seems like most if not all of the police are on their side.

He’s leaving office and his coup attempt failed, which is what matters most right now. We don’t need to lose any more lives to this psycho.

    • Seraphina says:

Sigmund, I so agree. I saw the Antifa protest in NYC I believe. All of us who denounce the insurrection last Wednesday need to stay home and let the loonies be handled by authorities.

    • Josie Bean says:

Agree. No counter protests. Let the MAGAs just do their thing at these rallies and get them over with.

      • Ellie says:

I’m sure there are good reasons for a counter protest, which it could actually be effective. This is not one of them. Wholly agree it would just be putting yourself in danger (of COVID, injury, death or all of the above) and getting in law enforcement’s way.

  4. Keats says:

Virgin River is nowhere near as horny as Bridgerton, but it IS kind of like a hallmark movie plus sex, which some days is all I want.

  5. Snuffles says:

Just arrest everyone that shows up at each rally.

    • SEC says:

Hear, hear. I live in a red Southern state where the fellow/felon who sat in Nancy’s chair is from. No one needs this, especially with the pandemic. Hopefully our maga friendly Governor won’t allow it. He’s been somewhat reasonable.

      • Seraphina says:

I live in Virginia, which I consider a Southern State – especially once you get an hour close to the state capitol. Our State Senator, Amanda Chase, was there Wednesday. State legislators are calling for her to resign. Her own party doesn’t like her and she has her eyes on the governor’s office. Lord help us.

      • Lady D says:

Virginia isn’t considered the east coast, Seraphina?

  6. Bex says:

I read somewhere that his biggest income is from the sales of merchandise at these rallies. He’s just out to get money.

  7. Juls says:

So, he can’t rile up his base on SM anymore, so he’s just gonna be allowed to travel around the country, inciting violence in person? Because that’s what this is about. Not his ‘legacy’ or even stroking his ego. He still wants insurrection and civil war. And seeing their dear leader egging them on in person will really have them frothing at the mouth.

  8. Sandra says:

He’s going to continue to incite terrorism then. And house Republicans are at it defending him and saying “let him finish out his term!” They are all in on this.
Congrats inbred trash terrorists. I’m terrified.

    • Veronica S. says:

Any city that hosts him after the Capitol insurrection is just asking for a violent incident to go down. I really do think white supremacist domestic terrorism is going to be the biggest threat to the United States for in the coming years. Terrifying, but not something we can afford to bend to without democracy as a whole paying the price.

    • josephine says:

they are also the people claiming that we need “unity” and “healing” but they won’t speak out against the very person tearing everyone apart. not a single shred of respect left for the republicans, just nothing at all. i cannot believe there is a single person out there who identifies as a republican.

  9. SpankyB says:

I love Lily Collins’ outfit. She styled it perfectly, and I like it better on her than the model. If I had somewhere to go I’d totally wear it.

  10. Willow says:

Officer Goodman, not only is he incredibly brave, but to be so calm and thinking in a situation like that! I noticed in the first videos described as ‘mob chasing police officer’ that he was pausing at the stair landings to let the mob catch up, talking into his mic for backup, until he and the mob got into that open area where the other cops showed up, so to me it appeared that he had some control of the situation. But I had no idea it was because he was deliberately moving the mob away from the chambers! Such a hero. People like him are the reason we still have a USA.

    • GuestwithCat says:

Agreed, Willow. As we seek police reform around the country, let’s do what it takes to do hire and retain more officers like him.

    • KhaoManee says:

He was so smart and brave.

    • Keats says:

Yeah that video is really amazing, you can see him doing some real time risk assessment mental math and settle on bothering that lead guy in the beanie to buy time for backup and guide them in the wrong direction. just really clever tactic, I’m very proud of him.

    • Darla says:

Amazingly brave and just watching him outsmart them all like that, it makes me snicker. I hope he is promoted and honesty he should receive a real medal from a real President.

  11. KPS says:

All the maskless MAGATs will infect each other with COVID and one by one… I know that’s a terrible thing to say but, aww WTF.

    • schmootc says:

I don’t know if it’s terrible to say something that’s actually true. There is no doubt that many people who were at that rally will get sick. And given that they came from all over the country, they will unfortunately also get other people sick.

    • Ariel says:

Seems like a huge expenditure. Who pays for it? Since he is not running for anything the GOP won’t be able to kick in, will they?
He is not one to pay for…anything.

  12. GuestwithCat says:

Coming soon to a landscaping and fertilizer depot near you: Trump’s Farewell Make America Grift Again Tour. Stay tuned for dates and times. No masks allowed.

I might actually attend one of these. I need a huge load of fertilizer for my gardens. It’s a bit early but I can get a head start by securing a delivery now.

  13. BB8 Squirrel says:

I did a deep dive on the Armie Hammer stuff…. I believe the dms are 100% real (the alleged confession that the girl faked the DMs turned out to be a lie) and he needs serious, serious professional help.

    • KhaoManee says:

Holy smokes…I’m starting to think Armie Hammer is a real life Patrick Bateman! Creeeepy!

    • Darla says:

Really? I want to be on record that I never liked him and never thought he was hot. Now you all can make fun of me for my Chris Evans, Alexander Skarsgard, and Jason Momoa dirty feelings, but at least none of them are cannibals.

      • BB8 Squirrel says:

If you follow houseofeffie on Instagram she goes into detail about many of the things he’s said and done and she has receipts. He’s so sick. Many of the girls are super young- 18, 19, 20. I was an Armie apologist for so long and now I’m completely disgusted by him.

  14. Belig says:

Virgin River felt very insidiously conservative.

    • Willow says:

Virigin River is the first in a series of romance books by Robyn Carr. They are all feel-good man rescues woman, and later in the series woman rescues man, redemption type love stories. I only watched the first few episodes of the show so not sure how faithfully it follows the book. Interesting fact, the town Virgin River is made up, but the other towns are real and the poverty and drug problems are real too.

  15. Leah says:

He and his followers need to be locked away from civilized people and fed with a stick. Honestly.

I don’t think he’s going to leave the WH quietly so he can go on his nazi tour 2021. He’s going to kick and scream and carry on. On Jan 20th, the good people need to stay home and let his followers get arrested one after another. Don’t go on the street and don’t engage.

  16. Kynesgrove89 says:

I live in maga country and I really do believe we will have a minor civil war because of these crazies.

  17. Diana says:

I am terrified of this…. someone tell me I am overreacting! He is trying to outright overthrow the government and continue to whip up his base to incite a war to win control again. This is terrorist shit!!!!
