Prince William is ‘disappointed & greatly concerned’ about Prince Harry

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tour of Scotland

Prince William’s Kensington Palace office really has undergone some changes since the crisis managers came on in the beginning of May. Before the crisis managers started work, the KP office was doing the most to smear the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and to paint William (accurately) as a petty tyrant permanently engorged with rage. The PR was amateurish as best, and at worst, enormously short-sighted and revealing. Now “future future king” William is trying a newish tactic, which is that William is terribly concerned about his brother’s TV confessionals.

Prince William fears his brother’s ‘truth-bombing’ will go a step too far and further damage relations with the Royal Family.

A friend told The Mail on Sunday that William was disappointed and ‘greatly concerned’ after Prince Harry’s latest fusillade about the perceived lack of support for his wife Meghan when she was struggling with her mental health.

Harry’s criticism of his family during a 95-minute episode of his TV programme The Me You Can’t See with Oprah Winfrey on Friday was less pointed than in a previous appearance to promote the series – or during the controversial interview he and Meghan gave to the US chat show host in March.

A source said last night that there were ‘concerns rather than fears’ at Buckingham Palace that Harry and heavily pregnant wife Meghan will make further allegations.

[From The Daily Mail]

I’m not entirely sure why this is a Mail-on-Sunday exclusive or why KP felt the need to underline the “concerns rather than fears” point, but I have my theories. One of my theories is that William is trying to “Diana” his brother, meaning that William is trying to make Harry sound like a threat to himself, like Harry is the mentally ill brother and William is trying some tough-love. Charles did the same thing to Diana, painting her as unhinged, gaslighting her publicly and privately. Yet again, it feels like Charles and William are on the same page.

What really concerns Kensington Palace, Clarence House and Buckingham Palace is the fact that Harry and Meghan are making so much money and doing everything on their own terms. The Daily Beast’s Royalist column had a fascinating analysis of how the Windsors have always “sold” and “marketed” themselves, and it’s kind of ridiculous for all of those same Windsor a–holes to pucker so hard when Harry and Meghan are making money. There are some funny lines in this piece, like “Given all their videos and photo-ops lately, surely stung into greater visibility by Harry and Meghan, Kate and William appear one step away from starting their own lifestyle catalog.” The Royalist column says flat out that the Windsors are envious of the Sussexes’ money-making schemes even as the Windsors look down their noses at them. This is a good point as well: Harry is “embracing the philosophy of his adopted homeland, America, where making money is not ever seen as a slightly tacky necessity, but as an important part of self-realization and fulfillment, something to be celebrated and applauded.” Yep.

Whatcha scared about, Willy? What other allegations could they bring up? Because from where I’m sitting, Harry and Meghan are majorly holding back, treating the family with kit gloves and more compassion than you deserve.

You’re worried because you know you and the family have pulled some enormously fucked up shit and don’t want to be exposed.

    • Cecilia says:

Thats what i want to know. What truth bomb are they scared of that Harry will drop? Especially since harry hasn’t said anything about the windsors that wasn’t already in the public domain? Are they finally realizing they no longer control harry and that he can go nuclear if they really try him?

      • Me says:

They are scared to death of the receipts: who exactly asked about Archie’s skin color? Who told Meghan she couldn’t have psychiatric treatment? Who authorized that refusal? Etc.

The money angle is very, very interesting to me. Who has their own money? Who is dependent? How much money is there really? I’d love to see an expose of the business activities of the lesser, hanger-on royals—bound to be a rats nest of corruption and influence peddling far beyond anything we’ve heard of so far.

      • Elizabeth Regina says:

Baldilocks is a ball of rage, jealousy, envy and entitlement. The little brother who was his whipping boy is no longer available and is instead ridding himself of family demons and is thriving. Baldingham cannot comprehend how he the chosen one ended up being the less accomplished and overshadowed, after a lifetime of being told how special he was. He may try to Diana his brother but no one is falling for that old playbook. His PR team should focus on giving him something he cannot balls up like he did with the Scotland mission.

    • Becks1 says:

Yup, they wouldn’t be worried if there wasn’t a lot more tea to spill.

      • Nina says:

They not worried about whatever Harry will reveal, they are using this to deflect from the disaster that happened up north. They really are one-trick ponies.

  2. Haylie says:

Maybe they could sell this better if they hadn’t painted Willnot as a rageaholic for the past year and a half, thinking it would make him look strong. Also, if he stopped showing up at public appearances with a clenched jaw and balled up fists.

    Fucking creep.

    • NiqGee says:

This! Why are his fists always clenched? Like, dude, relax. You’re the FFK, you shouldn’t have a care in the world. You can literally do whatever you want and a sycophant will be there to excuse/validate it.

  3. Eurydice says:

Oh,no, Meghan! William is disappointed, whatever shall we do?

    • Jegede says:

Notice there’s no primary concern for Meghan.
      Or even the babies.😶😶

The BRF concern was/is/remains Harry. Only Harry.

      • HeatherC says:

and then only how he makes THEM look. It’s not actual concern for Harry as an individual or a person.

      • Hell Nah! says:

@Jegede/HeatherC — so gross and so very true.

  4. Levans says:

I have to imagine that Harry doesn’t think about Wills AT ALL! Harry is just living his life and the ones who are stuck are so obsessed. It’s like that madmen phrase “ I don’t even think about you”. Cain and unable who?

    • Snuffles says:

Harry is booked and busy. I doubt he spends too much time thinking about the Cambridges beyond wishing them good health. The Cambridges, on the other hand, clearly have way too much time on their hands and spend it obsessing over the Sussex’s.

Honestly, even without money making schemes, they have PLENTY to keep themselves occupied with. Like their royal jobs and tending to their citizens.

      • swirlmamad says:

In “The Me You Can’t See” Harry says that he’s never felt anger or rage towards these people, only compassion/pity. And somehow I believe him. I’m sure he doesn’t spend much time ruminating over and over in his head. He’s a better person than me, though — I would be constantly walking around in William-levels of rage if my family sanctioned the vicious tabloid press against my innocent wife and myself. But he’s doing the work to ensure this doesn’t consume him and eat him alive.

    • molly says:

Harry knows EXACTLY what he’s doing with all of this. These aren’t hot flash interviews he does on a whim and then trying to walk back and clean up. These are all carefully thought out, extremely planned, and highlighting consistent message points he’s used across several mediums. The RF needs to stop treating what Harry says like some unintentional mistake he’s making. He’s doing these interviews with his whole chest.

  5. Cecilia says:

Have these people ever thought about calling harry instead of leaking their feelings tot he press?

    • Chill says:

Thank you. Where is the love and concern?

    • Elizabeth Regina says:

You know the answer to that. To call Harry means admitting defeat. They tried to lie that Oprah might be informed of any conversation, which they don’t want as Oprah has a bigger platform. Meanwhile, every single day William and his handlers are briefing their mouth pieces in the press. All the embiggening articles are not working and are instead making him look ridiculous. They created a horrible situation and painted themselves into a corner.

      • Hell Nah! says:

“They created a horrible situation and painted themselves into a corner.”

And I’m here for absolutely all of it. I hope the entire Royal family (and every one who participated in the constant slander of H&M) is living each second with stress, anxiety and FEAR at what Harry may let out of the bag.
For how they treated Meghan and one of their own, they deserve to roast.

  6. TeamMeg says:

The “perceived” lack of support for his wife Meghan? What an über gaslighting campaign by William and the whole BRF. I hope it über backfires and blows up in their clueless, petty, narcissistic faces.

  7. Oh_Hey says:

“where making money is not ever seen as a slightly tacky necessity“

I read this and started cackling. This line was clearly written for house poor, jobless aristos with their empty country estates in deep disrepair. The same ones that think H&Ms salaries and number of bathrooms are so gauche and tacky. Ha.

    • notasugarhere says:

Or for Milk Prince Peter Phillips, who made money off PPE during the global pandemic.

    • Ann says:

They don’t want to talk about money, but they very much need it and are willing to scrounge for it in ways that don’t involve actual work, risk or smarts.

  8. Myra says:

When William sicced the British media on his younger brother and new wife, he never showed any concern for their well-being. He knows where he can shove that faux concern. I hope he is feeling real trepidation about Harry’s newfound success. Imagine being in your brother’s shadow and you’re a future king.

    • Cecilia says:

Judging from williams face during that scotland tour he might indeed have some regrets.

  9. Bunny says:

He’s “concerned”, but not, you know, “concerned” enough to change things or welcome his brother’s family, or anything like that.

He’s “call the tabloids and spill” concerned; not “do a damned thing or lift a damned finger” concerned.

    Feckless a-hole.

    • Becks1 says:

Reading the excerpt from the article, it doesn’t sound like William is concerned FOR Harry – he’s concerned about the allegations (because they make the royals look bad), he’s concerned about what other bombs might drop – not for Harry’s mental health.

      • notasugarhere says:

William is never concerned about anyone else. It is always about him, no matter what. He obviously has no problem with infidelity, given he’s cheated on Kate for two decades. His problem with his parents affairs? Their attention wasn’t on him.

  10. Cecilia says:

Also, “concerns rather than fears” hhmmm interesting. I wonder what particular truth bomb they’re so concerned about.

    • Chrissy (The Original) says:

Actually he/BRF fear HM rather than being concerned about them. The so-called feared “truth bombs” should be considered a good thing, no? Unless like Baldy and his minions are behind the worst of the worst against the Sussexes. He’s fearful that his assholery will be made increasingly public and he will be at fault when the BRF implodes. His rep of foot-in-mouthitis is already in the public domain but he can’t control HM’s narrative and it’s killing him that Harry is winning.

  11. Laugh or Cry says:

“Truth bombing”??? So they told no lies… Can you imagine the abuse Harry had to endure since childhood? We all saw what they are putting poor Meghan through but I believe he has endured some as a wee boy, and that is what they don’t want to slip out.

    • Brielle says:

What are you thinking about? We know Harry was neglected by Charles or not well parented after Diana’s death…are u thinking abuse? I hope it’s not that..it will be even more dark

  12. Emily says:

Will is the world’s worst mental health activist. Like at this point I just have to laugh. 🤣

  13. ABritGuest says:

‘Perceived lack of support’? Ok so tell us how the firm did support Meghan’s mental health. Because they sure leaked to reporters that she was struggling & crying all the time but did they tell the press to give her space?

And when she said she was not ok in that ITV doc- all we heard from ‘sources’ was that William was angry with Harry’s comments about the rift followed by calling him fragile, saying the family had distanced themselves and nobody was supporting the Sussexes because they didn’t agree with them launching lawsuits against the press. Really for MH advocates the firm’s response to that doc was such a fail- a source could have least said sad to hear they have been struggling & tacked on a line from Heads Together about speaking openly. That wouldn’t have been an endorsement of actions against the press but guess they couldn’t allow bare minimum of public support to H& M at the time.

And yeah the Diana like treatment has started already with royalists & people like Camilla Tominey suggesting that Oprah and other American press are exploiting Harry. The press are also revising history to suggest that the family drama started with the Sussexes abruptly leaving and then ‘trashing the family’ on Oprah not the years of leaks & smears before & the press telling Meghan especially if they didn’t like their treatment to leave & get a job. Kind of like how Charles’ interview the year before Diana’s is brushed under the carpet.

So funny that working for your money is regarded as better than being funded by the public

  14. Sofia says:

The classic: “I’m not mad, just disappointed”.

  15. Maria says:

I’m reminded of Don from Mad Men:
    “I feel sorry for you.”
“I don’t think about you at all.”

Most likely Failliam is mad that their keen Scottish tour was called out for what it was – expensive nonsense meddling in Scottish politics. And that nobody covered it. This is your future, loser.

  16. Amy Bee says:

Yeah William tried this after the ITV documentary saying that Harry was fragile. It didn’t work then either.

    • Brielle says:

I loathed him when he said that…he was/is an ass..and when he said he couldn’t put his arms around his brother anymore as if…he couldn’t make time for his brother who returned from Canada and with whom he was so ‘close’ to discuss about Sussexit….he is really a bad brother and Harry is too generous with him

  17. Haylie says:

Tell me the Scottish tour was a failure without telling me the Scottish tour was a failure.

  18. Izzy says:

Truth-bombing? Welp, nice of KP, I guess, to finally confirm that yes, they left plenty of receipts that Harry and Meghan haven’t yet made public.

  19. Lydia says:

The photos taken in Edinburgh did no favors for William. He looked grim and his clenched jaw and hands spoke volumes. All that anger has to go somewhere and it seems to have settled in his body. The toxic tabloids can spin this every which way and the more they continue to make up these ridiculous stories about Harry, the worse William looks. They’ll never learn.

    • Izzy says:

Seriously, they may have moved the narrative from “incandescent with rage” to “troubled and concerned,” but the whole world was watching while Willieleaks needed a chaperone to walk behind his grandfather’s coffin with his brother.

  20. lee says:

Its a variation of the wise elder heir concerned about the reckless younger sibling theme that been played out in the Royal family for years. The interesting thing is Prince Harry said nothing controversial in the Part 2 weekend segment of his special and the newspapers still did the Prince William is concerned routine yet again to escalate the tension and keep the pot boiling.

  21. Liz version 700 says:

You ran your brother and his wife out of the country because you were jealous of the attention he got. Why on earth won’t you stop talking about him. I thought with him gone everything was supposed to be fine for you Willy? Oh wait?!? Even across the world, your brother and his gorgeous amazing wife outshine you by just breathing. Well maybe the problem is you buddy.

    • Chrissy (The Original) says:

      Yup.

    • Brielle says:

That’s what I don’t understand about the royal family :remember all those stories about William wanting to exile Harry and Meg to Africa,or how courtiers were reassuring about Harry being more popular than him,or Piers and the RR saying that if Sussexes wanted privacy that they had to go to America and abandon their royal privileges….and Harry and Meg granted them their wishes: they left but they ALWAYS talk about them,WHY?

  22. Snuffles says:

I wonder if William is scared that Harry is giving The Crown producers inside scoop on their childhood. With a nickname like “Billy the Basher” I’m sure there are some terrible behaviors that the show could cover. The next season could be getting into his adolescence and I’m sure he could be a terror at times.

    • Jais says:

Oh my goodness. I never thought about the crown depicting young William. Trying to remember what’s been confirmed? Who called him the basher? Was it confirmed in books or through articles that William yelled at his mom? Did he push her once? Sorry I’m trying to remember what I’ve read in past comments here.

      • Snuffles says:

Yeah, I read that William was so upset about the Bashir interview that he screamed and shoved her. I also read that it was bad enough to shock Diana.

      • Snuffles says:

        @demi

Thanks for the link. Yeah, that’s the kind of stuff I’ve been reading about. Although this included more details and specific incidents I never heard of before. I love how Penny Juror was trying to say both boys weren’t properly disciplined and that Charles and Diana were “too liberal”. Then how come Harry turned out to be a gentleman? We never heard kiddy tyrant stories about Harry. He only started acting out after his mother died. And he still wasn’t as bad as William.

    • KW says:

Billy Basher/Bruiser is a nickname anybody gets when they are tantrum prone. Even if a wee boy is called Michael.

    • North of Boston says:

I’m not all that interested in someone exposing what William may have done as a child, or even as a young teen. Kids are kids, and both Harry and William were in an impossible situation as children, caught between warring parents, the Firm, the RR and the public. I’d be more concerned if they DIDN’T act out from time to time, given the environment they were living in. If William was a raging 7 year old I don’t think that means much now, or is a reflection of his character.

Of course, I’m someone who’s childhood nickname was “the Little Red Fire Engine” because I had red hair and would scream bloody murder loudly and A LOT when I was upset. I’ve got some theories why I was so outburst prone, but none of them say much about my baseline temperament or character. (instead it was a lot more about warring parents and a chaotic childhood environment)

But details of William’s actions as a 25+ year old, and now in his 30’s heading into his 40’s? Yeah, that I don’t mind if someone spills and blows the lid off that. Because now he’s a grown man, he’s responsible for his own face and his own choices. And the little hints and big hints that come out indicate he’s an angry, self-centered, insecure, vindictive man. Not leadership material at all, and that’s entirely down to choices HE’S made and KEEPS MAKING as an adult.

  23. MsIam says:

Harry and Oprah are getting all sorts of acclaim for their special, and not just from the usual entertainment sources. The more Baldimort complains the more he and the rest of the royals look like whiney babies. Best to suck it up and move on.

  24. Izzy says:

I just read the Daily Beast article linked from here, and I find the reporter a little disingenuous. He says the Firm never complains or explains. Sure they do; they just do it in sneak attack through palace sources, instead of having the balls to own what they say.

    • Lizzie says:

Oh they do it outright too. They publicly protested what Tatler said about keen and that’s just one instance. If they never complained why do they write about their complaints all day every day?

  25. equality says:

Another ironic article from the BM. The RF basically does “work” for their living by performing and playing dress up for the cameras. Not to mention all the merchandise hawked by the different estates to pay for their residences to be maintained. I wonder if it’s tongue-in-cheek making fun of the RF and/or of those who read and believe their articles or do they seriously publish this trash and believe it themselves?
It would be so refreshing to read an article stating how proud one of them is of Harry and what he has accomplished and expressing support. Think how good it would look for Charles to tie in Harry’s statements about fatherhood with his about Philip. He could admit he failed in some areas and say how happy he is that Harry is trying to do even better. (I know, it will never happen.)

    • MsIam says:

I wonder if the so-called “PR crises managers” have suggested this tactic and it was refused? I guess “mea culpa” clashes with the whole anointed by god thing or whatever it is they claim. After all Charles couldn’t possibly be an ordinary bad husband and father who f@cked it all up and is now reaping the harvest could he?

  26. Who ARE these people? says:

It’s tacky to work for your wealth and classy to live off dynastic and taxpayer wealth. Got it.

  27. phlyfiremama says:

Did William just blatantly threaten Harry??!! That is what this reads as to me: a serious threat aimed at Harry. Remember Andrew & the Queen laughing it up the very same morning Epstein was suicided?? This is actually fairly standard in the British “monarchy!

    • Curious says:

the queen b uried her head in the sand. it was phillip that used whatever to help his children, and he was like water boarding them to obedience.

  28. HK9 says:

So it seems as if William & the RF can bash Harry through the press and he’s not allowed to say anything. Ok….seems as if that “crisis” PR team have their work cut out for them.

  29. Lizzie says:

So all of the daily narrative where Harry talks about his life is considered and attack on his family continues. But now bill is concerned instead of incandescent with rage. Same song different verse.

  30. L4Frimaire says:

This whole angle of William’s concern about Harry seems so contrived. Once again no mention of Meghan and Archie. Also, they’ll never say it but Harry has gained a lot of props and praise for The Me You Can’t See and putting himself out there about his mental health struggles, so to try to once again weapons every it against Harry seems just manipulative and pointless. Also, they really are pissed about the money and the Montecito mansion.

    • Curious says:

william concern? since when? what harry did was in 2019,its 2021. how can william be concern when he started this crap against his brother in 2016. Harry had help and is moving on,he left with his wife and son. he is healing for the better. he refuse to be his brother fall guy.. Harry is gone and william is still trying to use him to make his life look better. which it is not . william is failing on all fronts.

  31. Curious says:

there are no emotional support for anyone but the heirs in that family. the queen marriage was not all that either. they lived separate lives. and do events together when needed. she has no clue about anything till the crap is made public.

  32. Curious says:

the queen did nothing to help Diana, she did nothing to help harry. she is the queen, why is she this clueless.? how can the head of a firm be this clueless?

  33. SaraTor says:

I’m never actually happy to hear someone has become mega-rich, because it’s a reminder about the gross income inequality in this country, and failure to redistribute wealth fairly.
But one a world where this occurs every day, I’m happy for it to happen to people like Harry and Meghan, who advocate for important causes. Especially for the class of wealthy people to include individuals who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, like Meghan.
    Eat your heart out Will.

    • North of Boston says:

I’m happy to hear about it for Harry and Meghan, because with the vitriol that the RF, the Firm, the Institution, the RR and the British Tabloid Press have launched into the world aimed at the Sussexes, they absolutely NEED to have enough resources to have round the clock professional security to keep them safe. I want Harry and Meghan to go to bed at night, resting their heads on their pillows and not worrying for an instant that Charles or anyone else can pull their security or funding for their security ever ever again.

Personally, I wish for every parent or human being that they could rest their heads on their pillows at night knowing their loved ones are warm, dry, well fed and safe. And Harry and Meghan are part of that.

  34. Catherine says:

IMO their media strategy has not changed. The attempt to “Diana” Harry is not new. They tried this after the Household/Foundation split, the South Africa doc aired and after the Sussexes announced their decision to leave. I distinctly remember articles saying that Harry had inherited Diana’s “emotional vulnerabilities”. They’ve used this “William’s concerned” tactic numerous times before. I think the shift from anger to concern is because these latest appearances have been Harry alone. They reserve the anger/hate for when Meghan is directly involved. That’s why it was all “he’s incandescent” after the Oprah interview. Remember Jason Knauf is still working for them and will be until the end of the year. When they shifted him from communications to the charity I thought that was just window dressing. At the core their strategy is the deify the Cambridge’s, demean the Sussexes. And quite frankly, their screw ups are the same also.

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

Catherine, Trying to “Diana” Harry is doomed to failure. People who watch the series will think the brf really are as disconnected from their feelings as Harry intimates. They have the added complication because of all of the people who lived through what they did to Diana. Can’t tell you how happy I am that The Crown last season was instructional in how PC (and the rest of the brf) treated her, and then followed it up by reminding people of the documentary–in her own words. Is there no one in that Firm that knows this is the wrong tact to take? Talk about a bunch of incompetent people.

  35. Jaded says:

Make no mistake, Harry and Meghan have a shit-ton of truth-bombs they could drop at any time. However they’re also diplomatic and discrete, so the mere threat of dropping a few is keeping the Windsors in a cold sweat, hence their constant stream of self-aggrandizing articles and faux concern, not to mention all the demeaning pieces about the Sussexes. But Truculent Bill is too jealous and stupid to dial it back and realize that making a quiet peace would do wonders for his family’s reputation.

  36. Curious says:

the queen and her selective memory crap is telling me she knows what is happening.but decided not to protect harry like she tried to protect andrew girlfriend koo.

  37. Flying Fish says:

Stupse, Harry is living his life. Let Cain stew.

  38. MonicaQ says:

I am nowhere near as classy and measured as H&M and admit it with my whole chest because I would’ve started dropping truth bombs like I was a C-130 in human form and receipts like I was CVS the minute they started with this nonsense.

  39. Pamuk says:

They are worried harry will spill what he now knows about Diana’s end and the hand the firm had in it. They pulled his security while letting the press know his location, egged on with rage and hate. How likely is it that it was similar for Diana? Imo Harrys not just protecting his family, he’s truly honoring his mother and prepared to expose the windsors for the evil they are. That comment about di dating a man of color, and also he repeated it got bad when di had no protection and he knows that trauma well.

  40. phlyfiremama says:

Bingo!! #WeaponOfMassDistraction Don’t look at the man behind the curtain!!

  41. Lizzie says:

That’s funny, I hear Harry is massively disappointed in his brother.

  42. Tessa says:

Will drove Harry out. And if he were “concerned” why did he pull that Flybe stunt to try to put down Harry.

  43. SenseOfTheAbsurd says:

If William really said that, he’s a condescending, passive aggressive prick.

  44. jferber says:

I see his people are moderating his rhetoric to avoid the appearance of a less than stable and stately future future king.

  45. Noor says:

They fear that the truth about Prince William bullying ways may be revealed.

Remember Dan Wotton said that the palace leaks on Meghan came from the royals themselves apart from palace aides.

The Times of London ” bullying” article based on information from palace aides and the release of confidential HR email from Jason Knauf would not happen without approval.

There may be legal grounds for Meghan’s lawyer to initiate actions against Jason Knauf and Times of London for releasing and publishing a confidential staff email.
