Robert Pattinson & Suki Waterhouse hosted a NYE party in New York

For years, we knew too much about Robert Pattinson’s love life. I’m sure there are still many people who feel like they know what’s “really” going on with Rob’s love life. But after his relationships with Kristen Stewart and FKA Twigs, Rob started dating Suki Waterhouse and ever since then, there’s been barely any gossip about his love life. The photos in this post are from December, when Rob and Suki went to a Dior event together. That marked the first time they ever walked a carpet together or posed together at an event. The first time in more than four years!! Like, I think that’s crazy, that they’ve been together for nearly five years, they reportedly live together and spend tons of time together… and we barely hear anything other than “they’re happy.” Anyway, they celebrated the New Year together in New York.

Robert Pattinson celebrated the New Year with girlfriend Suki Waterhouse — and some celebrity friends. The pair hosted a holiday party at Silver Lining at the Moxy Hotel on New York City’s Lower East Side Saturday night. Celebrity guests included Emma Stone, Whitney Peak, Ian Bohen, Luke Grimes, Mischa Barton and Kelsey Asbile.

Pattinson, 36, was photographed entering the hotel wearing a navy blue parka, while Waterhouse, 30, kept warm in a tan, fur-inspired coat. Underneath, she sported a baby pink scarf, with feathered trim.

Of the celebratory evening, a source told PEOPLE, “Rob and Suki had a great time. He had a table in the corner and was laughing a lot.”

The insider added that “He and Suki were by each other’s side the entire night. It was a fun evening.”

Pattinson first sparked romance rumors with Waterhouse in 2018. At the time, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the couple was “dating” — one year after Pattinson ended his engagement to F.K.A. Twigs in 2017.

This will probably sound naive, but I’m assuming that Rob and Suki were paid to “host” this event, right? Like, they’re being booked together for parties! Anyway, my vibe is that Suki adores him and that he enjoys being with someone who isn’t a gossip-target. She seems very stable and normal (albeit a bit bland). He apparently likes that now?

They seem cute together, but yeah it’s a bit typical…posh British yt boy ends up with somewhat bland, posh yt socialite British girl.

    • Kirsten says:

She’s not just a socialite/model — she spent this past summer and fall opening for/touring with Father John Misty.

        😂

      • Div says:

Sis she’s from a super connected posh British fam that associates with royalty and famous folks. let’s not pretend like she would be opening for anyone if she didn’t have those connections. that was my point. she seems sweet, but my point was both are the epitome of privilege.

RPatz, played the game and won. He did all the promo for those lousy Twilight movies, made himself more $$ than he can spend in 10 lifetimes. Nice work if you can get it. 🙂

I just do not see anything special or star power about him. He got lucky and is smart enough to not screw it up. Fair enough, I guess.

    • Sindy says:

Yeah the only time I saw him as a star was when he was with Twigs. The power of FKA I guess? I’m still disappointed that she got so much vitriol and racism from his fans and he didn’t seem to do much about it, and then he just moved on to a white, blond girl…

Seeing how Harry stood up for Meghan even before they married makes me disappointed that Rob didn’t stand up for Twigs when she was getting attacked by his horrid, racist trash fans. Maybe they wouldn’t have gotten married regardless but it was hard to watch what she went through. It looks like he’s happy with a pretty and simple girlfriend, one who checks all the white standard boxes…British and otherwise.

    • Xpresson says:

I remember that he did come out in her defense…And asked fans to leave her alone.

    • Aly says:

He had the same attitude when he was dating Kristen Stewart. She used to get horrible hate from his fans, many of them were older than her yet Rob never felt the need to defend her. That’s cause like most men in Hollywood, he prioritizes his career over any woman he is dating.

I think that’s the advice they (and many other celebs) were given by their teams – just ignore them, you’re just pouring fuel on the fire. Honestly, it’s a no-win situation. The trolls aren’t going to stop no matter what you say.

I just for the first time watched Suki in a movie. It’s called New Year, New You. It was a very odd movie but entertaining.

I am a fan, so obviously I have some bias here, but the idea they are being paid to host this party seems crazy to me. If so, wouldn’t there be at least a few photos inside the venue and more publicity than a brief article in People? Also, that guest list isn’t exactly star studded, other than Emma Stone. There are pap pics of Ari Aster and Christopher Abbott entering as well, but they aren’t even mentioned? I think it’s exactly what it sounds like, a private dinner with friends. If a Vogue photo spread suddenly appears in a few days, then I would consider it a valid theory.

Secondly, this idea that Rob never defended Twigs drives me crazy. Within months of their relationship becoming public, he is quoted in a magazine article calling the racists and harassers “Demons” hiding behind keyboards, and condemning the hate. He also talks about how it’s an invisible enemy that is impossible to fight with any effectiveness. In a later interview with Howard Stern, he compares it to fighting a reflection, and he talks about how it’s real to twigs and him, and damaging and painful. Both Charlie Hunnam and Prince Harry did release press statements “defending” their partners, and did it do anything to help? No, it didn’t. Pattinson has said he believes when you acknowledge these demons, it empowers them, and he and twigs chose not to do this. It is obvious that the hate was a factor in their break up, but there was literally nothing he could do to stop it, public statements or not. I think their relationship got shaky when his schedule got very busy. Their first year together he didn’t have much going on, but that definitely changed in the second/third years.

If you look at how he has handled his private life since Twilight, if at all possible, he avoids any attention on it. I mean perfect example- dating 4+ years and finally the first red carpet appearance. We fans have been waiting for it. They survived quarantine together, so it looks like a strong relationship. As a fan, I’m glad he’s happy. Now I’m just hoping for some new project announcements in 2023!

Thank you Anname! I too am a fan and perhaps biased and I find it so hard to understand how so many people know absolutely zero about Rob & Twigs but feel they can comment about them. None of us know what brought about the end of their relationship. Rob doesn’t have a public social media presence and how was he expected to comment about the racism? Call for a press conference, issue a statement thru his PR? I can’t see that being helpful. Shia LeBeouf physically & mentally abused Twigs but Rob is the one getting the hate!
