I think a lot about the fact that Keke Palmer is just 31 years old. She seems older to me because she moves like such a seasoned professional, down to her fashion. Keke wore a white Vera Wang gown to the Met Gala with a tuxedo lapel and black dress pants. This is on theme and I appreciate a gown with menswear touches. It seems a little safe, but it’s lovely.

Quinta Brunson also nailed the theme in this white and black beaded pinstripe Sergio Hudson gown and jacket. This look is inspired by Josephine Baker, down to her kewpie doll hair. I love that this has pockets and that it’s accented with a rose at the lapel.
Lizzo had on black and white as well. She was in a very low cut fitted Christian Siriano gown with a bolero tuxedo jacket.
Bebe Rexha also wore Siriano, in a silhouette that’s very close to Lizzo’s look. There must be double sided tape involved.
Ayo Edebiri was sophisticated in a white Ferragamo gown with layers of red beads topped by a leather tuxedo jacket. She said she was inspired by the men in her family.
I’m including Angela Bassett here because she posed with Lizzo and Keke and I don’t want to forget her! I’m running out of steam and we can’t get to everyone. She was working a velvet patterned Burberry suit and cane.

Completely agree. Everyone looked amazing and like they were having so much fun, so different from most years. And I would love a perspective on the shoes alone — there were some amazing shoes on the carpet!!

AB looked so very cool. And it was good to see some blue. If I’m going to be honest, I get why there was a lot of black and white and while it was all really good, I was loving the pops of color.

I did as well. She always looks like she is loving what she is wearing. She is a great example of someone who exudes confidence in everything she wears.
