Megan Thee Stallion wore a glam Michael Kors lace and crystal gown to the Met Gala

Megan Thee Stallion went old school glam at the Met Gala in a Michael Kors “optic white lace goddess gown with crystal hand embroidery” topped by a “white faux fox opera coat with a sequin lining.” It’s very dramatic and a throwback look. The tailoring on the bodice looks a bit tight. Michael Kors’s Instagram post about this outfit doesn’t cite the inspiration although commenters are calling it an homage to Josephine Baker. I would like to see more nods to the theme, but it’s still an awesome gown and I love a giant train. Her styling is impeccable.

Ugbad Abdi definitely nailed the theme in a “custom Michael Kors Collection metallic charcoal paisley brocade cape with a faux silver fox collar and a charcoal flannel hand-embroidered crystal pinstripe trouser suit.” OK! She was one of the arrivals who made me sit up and take notice. She’s a Somali-American model and she knows how to pose.

Suki Waterhouse was a bit underwhelming in this black cutout Michael Kors tuxedo gown with a long thin train. It looks better in photos than it did on the red carpet as it’s all one color.

One of my favorite Michael Kors Met Gala looks was the pinstripe gown he did for Regina King in 2021. I was hoping he’d dress her again, although she went with a different designer, Whodecideswar. Regina’s pantsuit has beaded embroidery on the front that is inspired “from biblical narratives—the Garden of Eden and the Genesis story of creation—reimagined through the cultural lens of people of color.” I like the high back and the vine-like gold pattern.

Danielle Deadwyler was also in Whodecideswar. This is described as an homage to runway styles this season. I don’t really get it, but she’s pulling it off and it has a deconstructed historical vibe.

I agree, it’s stunningly gorgeous and nails the theme. Absolute perfection.

MTS is just giving quadraboob here.

Regina King looks amazing. I love the interpretation of the embroidery. I think the high neck detail on one side keeps the look on theme.

Meghan Thee Stallion also looks great. It makes sense that she was inspired by Josephine Baker. And her hair with the jewels in it is epic.

Ugbad Abdi ate it! Just fab. Regina looked good too.
When will people learn that the MTS squashed & overhanging boob look is not attractive? The dress would have been great if it were properly fitted.
