Hailee Steinfeld’s good year continues! She kicked off 2025 newly-engaged to Buffalo Bills quarterback (and NFL MVP) Josh Allen, appeared in a Super Bowl commercial, and co-starred with Michael B. Jordan in the very successful Sinners. This past weekend, just six months after they got engaged on the beach in Malibu , Hailee and Josh were married. The ceremony was held outdoors, reportedly at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California. The bride wore a gorgeous strapless gown with opera gloves and a tulle veil.
While Josh Allen is usually the one throwing, this time he’s making the ultimate catch! Actress Hailee Steinfeld was photographed walking down the aisle to marry the Buffalo Bills quarterback, 29, at their California wedding on Saturday, May 31.
In photos of the nuptials, the bride can be seen wearing a white strapless wedding gown, accessorized with a long tulle veil and opera gloves. She styled her hair in a classic updo.
The couple — who were first linked in May 2023 and debuted their relationship on Instagram in July 2024 — announced their engagement back in November. They shared the news via a joint Instagram post at the time, featuring a photo of the NFL player down on one knee in front of the Dickinson star, 28. From the looks of it, Allen went all out for the waterfront proposal, setting up a stunning, rose-adorned arch and dozens of candles. The pair captioned the post with the date of their engagement — Nov. 22 — and added two infinity symbols.
Following the news that Allen had popped the question, a source told PEOPLE that the pair’s families “were thrilled” that they had taken this next step in their relationship. “They’ve been head over heels from the start,” the insider added.
Steinfeld later shared details of the romantic proposal in a cover story for Who What Wear published on Feb. 19. She told the outlet that Allen caught her completely by surprise. When asked if she had any suspicions leading up to the proposal, she replied, “Oh my God, no! You talk to your girlfriends about that, right, where you’re like, ‘I just don’t want to know.’ ”
She said the romantic moment unfolded during a trip to Malibu, Calif., which she described as her “happy place.”
“It was magical,” she said of the proposal. “That’s the word.”
There isn’t a ton of information out about the ceremony right now, but apparently Larry David was there. As you can expect, the Internet has really latched onto his presence. Everything looked absolutely gorgeous. The garden setting was very romantic, and it looks like they had a beautiful wall of white flowers as a background. If they paid as much attention to detail as Josh did for his proposal setup, then I know that they had the absolute perfect setting.
Fashion time! Hailee’s dress was quite lovely. I really like the dress she wore to the rehearsal dinner, too. I love the cut and think she looked spectacular. I liked the gloves as an accessory, but every picture I’ve seen thus far shows them being a drastically different shade of white than her dress was. If that’s the true shade and is not just an illusion, then I’m not a huge fan of them. Her overall look, including dress/hair/jewelry/makeup was beautiful. Most importantly, they both look so happy. I love seeing fashion from events, but nothing beats that look of genuine happiness. Congrats to Hailee and Josh!

I think the gloves are net/translucent, so it might not be the color is so different from the dress, but that her skin tone changes the color when worn.

She is one of the most beautiful actresses. That being said, I was a bit disappointed in her career. After True Grit I assumed she would join the ranks of the Hollywod’s greatest, but she made some dubious career choices. It’s good to see her career is taking off again due to Sinners’ success!

LOL wait what is Mister Brightside? Because when my nephew got married last year, they passed around one of the bride’s twin brothers over their heads (basically crowd surfed him), and a cousin posted a video of it on Instagram with the caption “When Mister Brightside shows up.” I was there the whole time and dancing etc. and I don’t remember anyone singing that. No, I wasn’t drunk (but a lot of people were!). I don’t remember the crowd-surfing either, but then it was a pretty lit wedding and a lot of stuff happened.
I hate the opera gloves. They look cheap in every photo. But she looks happy and doesn’t care what I think. Congratulations to the happy couple!
Gorgeous gown and I love the rehearsal dress – it’s kind of traditional with all the lace and high neck/ long sleeves, but with a modern twist since it’s a mini dress
At first I was thinking that 6 months is quick to plan a wedding like this, but they probably want to get married before the NFL season starts or else they’ll have to wait another year. Plus I am sure they can afford an excellent wedding planner.
